We stopped in Hoonah AK while on our Alaska cruise. After wondering about the town we diced to grab a bite to eat. We were told The Office might have crab. We arrived there and were told that crab season was over so we ordered what turned out to be the best fish and chips ever! The place is very cool. There are peanuts in the shell on the tables. They also provide free WI-FI with a$10.00 order. Mary did the cooking and she is awesome. If you happen to be in Hoonah AK this is a must There isn't much else to see so stop here and do your walk about after.

Went on an Alaskan cruise stopped at this bar while in Village of Hoonah. Very rude and nasty owner?/employee. Would not recommend this bar.

We were told they had fresh crab so we stopped by. Small bar. The crab was good but small for $25.

Fantastic! We stopped by after reading reviews and are so happy we did! Were told to walk over to another restaurant and checked out their menu but all the customers food looked burnt so came back to The Office Bar for Dungeness crab and are SO SO happy we did! Great service by Jessica, happily met Mary the owner. Cold Amber Alaskan beer and yummy clam chowder. DO NOT MISS THE CRAB HERE!

A friendly neighborhood dive bar. We were here 8 years ago and nothing has changed. And that's a good thing! :)

Wonderful hot spot to have an Alaskan brew and seafood is excellent. Mary makes a mean chowder and potato salad.

Great place to go after a show across the street at Perseverence Theatre. The place is full of…read morefriendly locals and the bar staff is helpful. If you're hungy do try Nano's Grill from the hut outback. The menu items are a bit different than your lower 48 fair, but still good. My first time I ordered a club sandwich. When it arrived, it was everything of a soft kaiser roll with all the fixins splayed out like a hotdog. Different looking, but good. My next trip I ordered the daily special. Sliders. These tasty bites reminded me of homemade hamburger patties with their uneven edges cracking under each bit. Again. Good stuff. On my last visit, I tried the famous loaded tater tots. Now let me warn you, share with someone or you will be full for hours. The tots were a plate full of deep fried goodness covered in chili and all everything you would find on nachos. So good, but again, sharing is caring. They had also had a bloody mary morning drink, but I got there after 3 and the bartender still made me one. And it's good to be there when the fishermen come back, just be prepared to get a taxi home because someone is always ringing the bell!

Despite what this listing may say, this is in DOUGLAS, not in Juneau…read more What is Douglas? It's a town across the water from Juneau. It's what I imagine Juneau was like before the cruise ships came. This is a solid neighborhood watering hole. Great vibe and energy in this place. The bartender was friendly and on top of it. Lots of crowds of people that you could tell were all good friends. Get out of your boat or hotel and take a long walk across the bridge, you'll be glad you did. There's also some pretty good pizza just a couple blocks away.
