This new worker didn't fill my car with oil or erase the maintenance light. This place used to be really good. I had two bad Experiences and unfortunately I'm going to have to find somewhere else to have my oil changed. The first experience was about a year ago when I took my wife's Mercedes to have the oil changed and they did not secure the oil fill cap and oil shot out all over the exhaust manifold and freaked my wife out when smoke started coming out from underneath the hood in the middle of rush-hour traffic in the fast lane. I looked under the hood and I found the oil cap was not on right and oil leaking out of it. I returned, and they clean as much of the oil off with rags and brake cleaner. Second experience a few months ago, I took my truck in for an oil change. A few days later I noticed oil drips in my driveway and my truck has never leaked oil before. When I went underneath to investigate, I found that my drain plug was only hand tight and dripping oil. I tried to return to the shop and let them know what had happened and there was only an old guy there, who acted as if he didn't speak English. But I've been coming here for a while and he has spoken to me before he can understand what I was saying and he was able to take my payment but as soon as I had a complaint, he didn't want to deal with me. This location has changed. I don't see the Asian man who was running the place. I came here thinking it would be cheaper to get my oil change done here than at the dealership. The guy told me it was $88 for an oil change for my Toyota Prius with synthetic oil. He said they offer three better oils. I asked him what's the cheapest of the three oils. He said it would be $99. I agreed. I'm sitting on my car as the oil change is being done and my car kept shaking. I wasn't sure what was going on. The guy tells me that they can't unscrew the oil filter. He said he could break it and replace it with another filter for an additional $70. I told him I didn't want to do that. He said okay and that maybe I can come back another time. I left and decided to go to get the oil change at the dealership. I paid $61 for an oil change with synthetic oil. I'll be getting my oil changes from the dealership. read more

On January 9 2025 | did my oil change and purchases an Air filter and I paid $72.68, normally the guys ask me to move my car wheels a round a couple times so they can remove the cover from the bottom this time they said there was no need, the service was faster than normal but then again they weren't busy so I thought that's why they finished quicker , on February 17 I took my family to the los Angeles mountains and in about I about 30 miles , so when I was driving back home my engine oil light turned on and my car was having engine issues, and my car was used normally as other times , so it turns out that my oil filter wasn't changed and they only added 1 quart of oil. I hope the owner see this and makes it right and i highly recommend for any one that continues to get your services there to check the level of the oil once they finished and let them know that you want to see the work they are doing because, is a drive up service, so they Ask that you stay inside the car . We have been taking our cars here for decades. They are reliable and honest and good value for your money. I have never been asked to replace something that wasn't needed. Sometimes there can be a wait (not today, arrival at 11:00 during the weekday), but you can request an appointment online. They reply in a timely manner. If you have an appointment and there is a line, they make sure to see you with the next available slot so there's very little waiting. David is also professional and friendly. This is literally my go to Oil change place for years. This place been here for yearsssss. I take both of my cars here to get an oil change, what's great about this place is that they don't force sales on the customer. They don't tell you that you need to change unnecessary things like other places do, especially when you know that the parts are already been replaced. The workers are very and attentive and so is the owner he's very nice and shows interest in you and your car. They work quickly and gets your car in and out within 20 mins on a weekday, weekend is a bit more challenging because people are usually off so the line can be longer than usual. There's plenty of waiting chairs outside and inside the, is in the same plaza as a laundromat and donut shop in the corner of valley and Baldwin. So while you wait you can get yourself with some donut treats or like me, I go for the ham and cheese croissant!! Hehe next thing you know your car will be done in a timely manner. read more

You know what, this is the last straw for me. I had been coming to Oil Men for years. I had an old car back in the day that I suspect they had a big part in destroying, and something happened a month ago that fully confirmed my suspicions. Let me explain. I was taking my car to Oilmen. One day, my old car started spilling oil really badly. After some inspection, I realized they didn't completely close the screw at the bottom of my oil drain. This ended up causing a lot of damage to the car and eventually it totally failed on me and I had to get rid of it. My final straw was a month ago when they did the same thing to my car that ruined my old one!! For some reason, they didn't seal my oil drain and my car was spilling AGAIN. I went to a mechanic to see how bad the damage was and he said that it seemed to him Oilmen messed up my last screw and quickly tried to replace it with one that didn't fit!? I don't know if that's true or not, but I do know they almost ruined another car of mine. Never coming back again & I suggest you don't either! ZERO STARS Side note to women: Be careful because I did have an interaction where I believe they were trying to take advantage of the fact that I don't know too much about cars. One day one of the workers tried to convince me that my car ONLY took synthetic oil, which I KNOW it does not. Had to argue my case a little but they finally admitted it does take regular oil. At the time, I chalked it up to being just an innocent mistake. But looking back, I don't know. The price is like double the money so Im def sus of them. Just something to keep in mind. read more

Took my 07 solstice there for an oil change brought my own oil and filter first they charged me $35 then for a week I kinda notice oil drops when I checked I saw that they installed my filter incorrectly and you could see half of my seal hanging off took it back to them they told me it was a defective seal sad thing about it was you could only see the broken seal hanging off and they left it like that and since I took my own parts it was not covered they said nothing like that was ever told to me or written anywhere I could see or on the receipt so now they wanted to charge me to install another filter. Lucky my engine didnt blow. This place it terrible customer service a zero filing a complaint with the bureau of Automotive repair. Take your car to an honest business JIFFY LUBE down the street. The service/maintenance is always reasonable pricing, the customer service is wonderful every time I go and they're fast & reliable!! I moved down to Long Beach in Feb 2021 and I still make the 45min drive back up to El Monte just for oil changes. They are currently doing appointments only, but have made the process to schedule an appointment so easy. I refer anyone who will listen! The price for changing your oil is super cheap here. I'm from San Jose and at OilChangers they charge about $50 for regular oil and $80 for synthetic. Meanwhile at Oilmen's they charge you only around $20 for regular and $50 for synthetic depending on your car.... WOW a huge price difference. My friend's car had her maintenance light on and it turns out we only needed to reset her oil life. The worker kindly helped us reset it for free and even provided us some useful advice when it comes to checking our oil. Overall, great service. Wish I could change my oil here for my car since it's so affordable. read more

I can not believe how far this place has fallen. I used to give them 5 stars because of exceptional service and excellent prices. First, the prices have gone up tremendously. Prices have gone up everywhere but their prices are now higher than everyone else. Second, the service and attitude has gone way down. They used to be very nice but now they are just irritable and grumpy all the time like other reviewers have said. They also do not check all your fluids and tire pressure like they used to. I got bad news when I came in for a regular oil change. The guy told me that I had a cracked radiator. He told me this when I was paying the owner for my oil change... but I took my vehicle to Toyota to check if it's TRUE.. turns out I didn't have any crack in my radiator.. but later found out that there was something wrong with the cap... there was a missing piece in my cap... with out that piece my radiator slowly leaked all my liquid out without a trace... wow... I thought I had found a place that I could trust.. been going here for 3 years now.. well lesson learned.. Don't test your luck or put your vehicle in harms way. Recently stopped in for service oil change the tech stated vehicle needed a new drain plug sold me one at time of service. Next day there's a big thick oil stain on my driveway, the ding-dong never tightened the plug down. Popped the hood checked the dipstick super low barely any in there. I call speak to the "supervisor" and some how proceeded to think it's my fault cause I added some oil to an already leaking car? I've been taking many vehicles to this place and it's truly gone down hill. Interesting oil change place. It's similar to a drive through fast food place, except this is an oil change place, but you don't get to sit in the car while they change your oil. There are three lines for oil changes, but you're unable to pick which line. I met Mr Kim the father, and also Mr Kim the son. Very professional, and very nice to their customers. A regular oil change is $19.99 for an oil filter and four quarts of oil. If you need a fifth quart for the engine, it's an additional $5.00. They also changed my air filter for $17.00. If you come to think of it, the price for a traditional oil change is reasonable. Sure, they probably get oil, filters, and accessories at wholesale cost, but the cost of it is not so much more expensive than going to the auto parts stores. So therefore, I think it's worthwhile. This oil change place is always busy whenever I drive by. Especially on weekends, there are plenty of cars waiting. The parking lot is not that big, luckily the other retailers sharing the parking is not a coffeehouse, nor anything popular except for the laundry mat. Their wait can be a while. I'd say closer to a hour. So if you're in a time crunch, don't go. I waited for thirty minutes, and had to leave for a meeting before I'm late. So I had to give up my spot and go back a second time... and it was still about a hour wait. The.technicians work fast changing the oil and checking tire pressure and fluids while they're at it. I think very good as they seem skilled in what they do. It would be nice if they accept appointments online. That would alleviate a chunk of the waiting. Jiffy Lube and those places are ok, but I always felt like they were trying to sell me as many extra products as possible. I got there about 7:45, and was greeted right away by Edwin who started my morning off with a laugh after a long night at work. This place has been my go to for all my oil changes. I've taken all my cars here and my wife's. They are really efficient and knowledgeable. They also go extra and refill your tires, change your filters and refill your fluids. I don't know anyone else's that does that. Other people charge for that kind of stuff. If you can go the extra mile and it doesn't cost much then it's worth it because you gain a life long client and referrals. They are usually busy on the weekends so if you don't want to wait to long try going on the weekday. read more

I needed to get a few things done for my car cause the dealership said I had to get them done but I didn't get want to go there cause I know they overcharge so I decided to come here. This place has a lot of good reviews so I decided to give them a try. I have a Hyundai Kona. I got my transmission fluid service, serpentine belt, and spark plugs done. I called initially for the price and they honored it when I showed up. These guys are fast, effective, honest, and reliable. They finished all 3 services within 3 hours. I highly recommend this place because they genuinely care. They show you all the new parts they're replacing and all the old parts that are coming out. I use to go here regular for oil changes , then they changed the hours to close at 5. I stopped going and returned today because I was able to get the time. Something happened to this place. They use to vacuum the car and be more attentive at the front desk. Although still quick they tried to upsell me and didn't vacuum the car or do all the checks they use to do. I come here for the convenience of getting my oil change. It's $19.99 for an oil change but I've found out that this price only covers 4 quarters of oil. So if your car surpasses that 3,000 miles, they have to charge you for the extra. I think it's kind of pathetic that they don't tell you that at all. They tell you that after your car is done, when you're paying. I'd appreciate it if I was given awareness of the pricing. This place gets SUPER busy. I came here before it opened and there was already a line. The wait however wasn't that bad as most people just come here for an oil change and they work on 4 cars at once. The workers are pretty friendly. The reason I come back is for the location and convenience of fast service. Amazing drive through AFFORDABLE service!! I always come here for my oil changes. The people who work here are so polite, friendly and efficient. They never suggest crap I don't need, but keep me informed on what I'll need in the future. Very small parking lot with 3 spaces in front of their garage door but they get to everyone in a timely manner. (Try to come early on weekdays to avoid slightly longer wait times).
