Disappointed is the only way I can describe. Arrived around 5:55 with a reservation (for my birthday). Was seated right away. The restaurant was only about half full. This is where it went downhill. Waited approximately 15 minutes, then saw the manager-and stared at her, so she came over. We hadn't been approached by anyone or offered water or a "I'll get right to you" before this. She came over and we ordered our drinks and meal right then. She also brought our salads and bread out, and we started eating. Someone else brought our entrees. I assume it was our server who then stopped by and offered straws (first time seeing him)?!! After a while we asked a bus boy for more bread since no one else stopped by. He promptly got some and we tipped him since he dropped everything to get it for us!! Manager came back and asked if everything was ok, did we need Sean or something like that ? It was weird, like she knew the bus boy had to deliver bread. I wasn't sure who Sean was, the waiter or bus boy???! When we were done, I'm assuming our waiter stopped by and then we asked for our ice cream and to go containers. He brought that, our to-go boxes and the check. I had to pull up my birthday reward, and was having trouble-so he said he would be back. I'm shocked at the service that we received. We were in the area for an event, and I noticed they had The Old Spaghetti Factory as I was browsing Yelp for our dining options. Normally when I travel I stay away from chains or options I can get close to home. I love local spots. BUT my wife isn't a huge fan of Italian (I am) and she also has a soft spot in her heart for The Old Spaghetti Factory. SO, long story short, I used that to get my Italian food fix! Like most TOSF locations, it was busy. I knew this going in, and made a quick reservation online so I wouldn't have a wait. I don't think it would have been substantial, but I wasn't taking anything for granted. Our table was open when we arrived, and we were quickly seated and looking at the same traditional menu. Choose a soup or salad, an entree, and look forward to your dessert which will be spumoni or vanilla ice cream. You can deviate, but the standard 3-course TOSF option is the way to go. Bread arrived quickly with our drinks. The servers work HARD because they have a lot of tables, it's always busy and they like to turn tables quickly. It's a huge (400+) restaurant and they're likely running from table to table to keep up - and our server (sorry, forgot his name) was on it with quick refills and prompt service. Wife chose the Manager's favorite, which is basically spaghetti with choice of two sauces. She chose Mizithra Cheese and Marinara. I normally choose between chicken parm and spaghetti with meat sauce. Then no matter what happens I have buyer's remorse and complain that I should have picked the other. Not this time! I ordered the spaghetti with meat sauce but saw that they had an add-on option of $7 for chicken parm. Perfect! I don't know if that's new to the menu or I just hadn't noticed it before. Too much food, but I got the best of both worlds. And I finished it even though it was too much. That isn't gluttonous is it? Well, it might be when you know that wife doesn't love desserts so she ordered spumoni, took two bites, and passed it to me. So I ate mine and most of hers. You can judge me, I don't care. Have been here many, many times over the years with my family when we want to go out and have a delicious dinner. This location in particular is our go-to and I have always had pleasant experiences. The staff are nice, the place is clean, it's beautiful inside, and the food has always been good. The menu is a decent size, appetizers, entrees, salad, soup, desserts, and lots of drinks. I love the fresh sourdough bread they bring the table, it goes perfectly with the savory minestrone soup. I usually get vegetarian dishes when I come here and luckily they have a lot of options. My go-tos are the spinach and cheese ravioli and the roasted mushroom ravioli. This most recent time I got the mushroom dish, sometimes it's not on the menu so I get it when I can. The portions are generous and I usually leave with leftovers. I love the bowl of ice cream you get at the end too. We decided to book table on Valentine's Day because this place is very big so we got reservations pretty quick. To my surprise the decore is very well suited for special occasions. Big chandeliers, red velvet sofa's. I was really impressed. My server was very nice. We ordered fried calamari and olive tapenade as starters. Both dishes were very good. I was trying tapenade for first time And loved it. It's basically olive chutney served with toasts. Spinach tortellini with Alfredo was really good. I liked the taste of home Alfredo. We also tried Garlic Mizithra. This dish can be a hit or miss. We found it too salty. My daughter did not enjoy the flavor of brown butter in pasta. Brown butter tastes like ghee so I didn't mind that taste. Chicken Marsala's chicken was just ok. And this also has the same pasta with it. This is much fancier than the Laguna location. They have velvet sofas in the waiting area when you first walk in. They have twice as many appetizers to choose from, such as garlic fries. The staff is really friendly. I ordered the adult Mac and cheese, which I don't see on their physical menu but it shows up on their website. They're located next to the mini golf/arcade. The parking lot is big but it's shared with all the businesses connected to the restaurant (mini golf/escape room/winery). I've been to different Old Spaghetti Factory locations in both here in California and Arizona but I will definitely have to say that my experience at the Rancho Cordova location has been my favorite! First off, making a reservation was a smart move and very easy to do on the OpenTable app. Highly recommend making a reservation especially if you have a big group! Second, my waiter Everett was amazing! He provided the best service to my friends and I and put a great start to my night for my birthday. He checked back in with us very timely, made sure our waters were refilled, and had a very positive vibe that we all loved! Lastly, the food was tasty as usual. My go-to is hands down the brown butter and mizithra cheese pasta because it's their specialty! You can't go wrong with ordering it because it's just that good. Our waiter was very nice and enthusiastic, which made for a pleasant experience. He quickly brought out the iced tea and Long Island that two of our group ordered, though the rest of us waited a little while for our waters. The fresh bread came out warm from the oven, which was a great start. I ordered the lobster and crab ravioli in pesto sauce and was excited to see it came with a salad topped with pesto ranch so good! The ravioli portion was a good size and tasted great, though I wish it had come with a bit more of the pesto white sauce. Dessert was included, but the ice cream felt like a little too much after a big meal, and I couldn't even finish mine. I stopped by Spaghetti Factory tonight, Wednesday, August 19th, around 6:30-7:00 p.m. for a takeout order, and I really wish I had caught the name of the gentleman who helped me because he was fantastic! He was incredibly friendly, thorough, and made a point to double-check my entire order to make sure everything was correct before I left. So last weekend, i came here to eat something before going to costco, and since im a railfanner myself that likes trains, i like this restaurant. I sat inside of the train inside of the restaurant. The customers inside the restaurant was a little busy, but it was not that bad, there were some birthday parties going on. Right as i got to my table, immediately the workers came by to get our order. I got spaghetti, *i forgot what it was* but i know i got tiramisu for dessert and both of them was really good. After walking in and getting seated we looked over the menu and realized that we had missed being here because we were actually here a long while back with a bunch of friends who first introduced us to The Old Spaghetti factory in Indianapolis IN. We saw a Train Caboose which was really cool and the environment was old and nostalgic. One of the reasons why I am giving this a 3 star rating is because when we walked in and got seated it was probably about 10 minutes before somoene even came over to wait on us. After then the waiter came over and apologized for being a delay onto attending to us, which we ordered our drinks. I ordered a San Peligrino and my wife ordered a Dr Pepper which the reply was "I'm sorry we are all out of Dr Pepper and so I'll get you a Strawberry Leonade and a San Pellegrino" After about 3 minutes our drinks came out and I was advised that they were all out of San Pellegrino but that I would get Soda Water with Lime and to be honest I was perfectly fine with that because I mean thats really all San Pellegrino is. Well anyways my wife ordered Lobster Ravioli and I ordered Spaghetti and Meatballs. Which to my surprise it came with 2 Sicilian Meatballs and they were quite big. Well when we got our Drinks we were also brought Bread & Butter. Let me tell you they also offered either Salad / Soup and I chose Salad. I told the Waiter that I wanted Pesto Ranch and oh boy was it delicious. Not saying that the delay waiting on us would stop us from coming back, because it wont but we will be back. This is a Great place to have Family meals. Also to mention that the waiter was taking care of 2 big Party Tables and so that must have been the other reason why there was a delay. Great for large parties and they have the cutest center old style train cart with tables so you can enjoy your meal inside a train inside a building super fun . Delicious food I got the spaghetti and meatballs super flavorful sauce, delicious perfectly cooked meatballs just the right amount of spice to them, and the noodles were buttery, savory and perfectly cooked Staff was so nice super knowledgeable with an extensive menu. We went to eat here for a late lunch for our Anniversary. We were seated immediately when we entered the restaurant. Our waiter came over and introduced himself as well as asking us our drink orders. Noah, our server, asked if we were celebrating anything as he thought he saw it on our reservation. He promptly brought over some waters and got our Italian Crème Sodas. We ordered a large side of broccoli with Mizithra. I got my all time favorite spaghetti with browned butter & mizithra cheese. My fiancé got Chicken Marsala with the Spaghetti & Mizithra cheese. We were sat in the back of the restaurant to accommodate our large party. There were no other customers in the room with us. We did not need reservations for this experience, which was nice. The inside lighting and decor was absolutely stunning and beautiful. The drinks were delicious as we kept ordering more. The food was amazing. I definitely like the courses starting off with either minestrone soup or salad then the main course then your choice of ice cream for dessert. Service was great. The ambiance is okay; it is an older building with older decorations. Regarding the food, we started with some cheesy bread. Good, nothing too special - tasted well with the marinara dipping sauce. The side salad with the creamy pesto dressing was delicious; I highly recommend this. For the main dishes we split the spinach and meat tortellini and the chicken Picatta. The tortellini was fine. I wish the sauce had a little more flavor. The chicken in the chicken picatta dish was dry, and lacked flavor. However, the best part of the entire night was the angel hair pasta served with the chicken picatta. It's the famous cheese and browned butter spaghetti, which was great. Overall, this place is what it is. We went as a party of 6 last night. The restaurant was slammed-!!!-graduation parties, several birthday parties, the men's rowing team...none of which I thought of when making reservations. Our service was slow-understandable-but I give a shout out to the manager and our waitress. My fam came in a hour or so ago & the whole experience/ vibe was so bad. 1st the waitress forgets my youngest daughters cotton candy drink & when we remind her she says " she probably would've been just eating all the cotton candy anyway." This place is consistently incredible. I've been coming to this exact location for at least ten years now and it's never disappointed me once. This recent time I was so impressed, I felt the need to write a review. We had the funniest server ever, her name was Christie I think, and she made the funniest joke about calling the salad "roughage" which I appreciated. She was a really great server though and is incredible at her job (considering there was always wine in my glass). My favorite entree at OSF is the potpourri. No, I'm not talking about dried scented flowers. OST's potpourri is the entree of spaghetti served with four different sauces. Brown butter & mizithra cheese, clam sauce, marinara sauce, and meat tomato sauce. $19.99. The entree is served in three courses. The options are choice of a green salad or soup and dessert of vanilla or spumoni ice cream. Plus you will be provided a complimentary bread loaf. It is served warm with a side of whipped butter. The spaghetti is not outstanding nor is it bad either. Just basic simple spaghetti. The pasta is cooked perfectly, not soggy or al dente. The green salad is iceberg lettuce based. First, the decor and ambiance is casual yet elegant with a train car you can dine on, antique style furniture and jewel tone colors on the cool fringe lamps. The service was outstanding. We were a party of six and our waiter was friendly and attentive. He split our check as we requested, refilled our drinks and brought us more bread frequently. The food was delicious!! From the pesto salad dressing on our salads to the warm bread and butter to the amazing manager's special with marinara and mathithra cheese toppings. We gave the staff the benefit of the doubt, assuming they were busy, but after 20 minutes of being blatantly ignored while servers walked past us repeatedly, it was clear this wasn't an oversight, it was neglect. Feeling completely dismissed and unwelcome, we got up and left without being served. Customer service here is unacceptable.
