Best place in town Forsure. Hi recommend over any other hotel in town. Better pricing too!

My husband and I were just looking for an over nighter north from where we live. We arrived at about 9:15 pm on Saturday night and it was very quiet. We stayed in the Jail room, upstairs and at the end of the building in the back. Very spacious room. The furnishings were quaint, including a copy of an old roll top desk and water pitcher and bowl stand. The TV with Direct TV worked well. All the items that were listed on the website were included: hair dryer, coffee, cups, etc. The water was hot, and since I didn't bring slippers, I was pleased to see that my feet didn't get a bit dirty in the room! A very nice surprise for a place that we tried for the first time. The room was nice, very clean and pleasant. The bathroom was also very clean, but the toilet seemed small. There were plenty of supplies, i.e. shampoo, soap, toilet paper, towels, etc. The outside of the motel was very clean. The grass was well-kept, the vending machine was well-stocked. When we checked-in the front desk person was very friendly and helpful too. Overall, for the price it was terrific! We highly recommend staying here and are already planning another stay so that we can take advantage on a Saturday of the Sunday closed stores as we meandered back home. Thank you! read more

NOR CAL's BEST INN THE WEST Stayed here twice this summer. Once with buddies riding through on motorcycles, and the other with the family on a road trip. Both times the rooms were very clean and the staff was wonderfully pleasant. There is no pool, but the updated rooms make up for it. read more

Out of all the mixed reviews here I'm going to give them a 5 star!! Me and my husband came down here to Willits for his birthday and booked this place through Expedia but I also did look at the yelp reviews as well before booking and gave it a shot. It's in a small town in Willits mostly everything is walking and biking distance to the location. Burger King next door gas station etc. lumberjacks breakfast or even a mile away. They have free continental breakfast mostly cold stuff like bagels and danishes fruits . They recently partnered with lumberjacks down the street and you can get hot breakfast from them for I believe $4.50 and you would pick it up at lumberjacks down the way . When we first arrived most of the rooms were left open so they can air out the bedrooms which was a good thing because most hotels don't do this . Our room was kept clean. It has a fridge and microwave. Me and my husband do our usual check on the mattress to see if we found any bugs etc . Place was kept clean and up to our standards. You will hear sometimes gun shots at night but it's due to open lands everywhere and not a big deal at all if your new to this type of environment. There's even a little smoking area in the back very 420 friendly being in Mendocino county :). We enjoyed our stay we got to visit a couple of museums in town and got on the skunk Skunk train ! Super fun in a small town coming from San Jose this town is awesome and would move here sometime in the future . There's even a great organic supermarket down the street ! The Old West Inn is a pleasant place to spend a night in Willits. The room was clean, comfortable, and quiet. As other reviewers have mentioned the rooms face an interior courtyard, each with its own theme. To be clear: this is an older property. If you are the type of person who expects your room to be gutted and completely renovated every few years with the latest furnishings like one of the big chains, this motel may not be for you. If you are looking for a good night's sleep in pleasant surroundings, however, this is a great choice in Willits. read more

I really liked staying here. It's a very clean, comfortable, family run motel themed as an old west town. I was enjoying my stay until another hotel client complained about my dogs being there. So I got the boot!! Too bad! It's a pets not allowed place but it was off season so the owner gave me a break allowing my two small dogs and me to stay. It's across the street from a nice park and centrally located in Willits. Now if I could have gotten my hands on that complaining guest who turned me in I'd have had an old west style lynching with her neck in the noose! LOL. read more

Really friendly and honest staff. Themed rooms, there is hand made swing in the common area. Honest I would love to stay here when I'm back.

Our family was very impressed with this hotel. The manager was very friendly when we were booking with him. We arrived and it looked tiny from the front but around back was a little oasis. The courtyard is well kept and had so much character! It was great for the kids to explore and run around. All the employees engaged so kindly with our family. I got in late, around 2 am, and I really needed to sleep. The guy working kind of "upgraded" my room, it seemed so it wouldn't be a hassle to park and get into the room. My room was clean, and generally everything was in good shape, it was a nice room. My only problem, and this is pretty big, is that the room had a doorway that connected to the room where breakfast was served. At 7 am I was awakened to a husky voiced woman talking loudly to her two toddlers, who were responding equally loudly and dragging chairs across the tile floor. I could hear every word, even if they had been talking half as loudly. It was almost like they were in the same room. I was really bummed to spend $100 to sleep less than five hours. I feel they should be aware of this and only put people in this room that are waking up early. Or better yet, remove the door and insulate the wall better. So be advised and don't get the the room right out front if you seriously need sleep, which is sometimes seen as the primary purpose of paying for lodging away from home. read more

I have been traveling and staying in hotels for years. The staff at the Old West inn are Phenomenal and treat you like your family. The rooms are spotless and super quiet! If you get the chance stay at this hotel do it! They are hands down the best hotel in Willits and surrounding areas. I will always stay here if I'm in the area! read more

On the weekend of of October 4,5, & 6, the Redwood Empire Classic Chevy Club of Santa Rosa reserved six rooms. The pluses were; clean rooms, firm beds, nice quiet patio for entertaining, plenty of off street , secure parking for our "Classics". great attitude from our hosts, OK continental breakfast items. quiet rooms. reasonable rates. On the negative side, there was nothing to report. I could not believe that my room was even equipped with a real oak bar and a thunder mug with bowl on a stand, which I did not need, as the bathroom was very nice with good water pressure. The group agreed that next time through they would drive past Ukiah to stay at the Old West Inn. Happy trails to you, until we meet again. read more

This was a great little local place to stay. I was visiting with my 4 kids and they had a blast! The rooms were super clean, we even got some furniture upgrades during our stay. Within walking distance to the grocery store and a lot of fast food places. The owners are very friendly and helpful. If you are here during the summer the Eel River is a great place to swim! I stayed here for 2 nights. Came for the Skunk Train. I found the owners to be very hardworking and lovely to chat with. Nice breakfast and coffee in the lobby in am. I had my service dog and one didn't tell the other. It was no problem when I checked in. There is no place for the dogs to go potty. Mine will hold it! The family room was wonderful. I had my 15 yr. old autism nephew with me. Very clean rooms and grounds. Lovely people there. read more

Pleasantly surprised at how friendly, accommodating and clean this place is! The room is spotless and the flooring is great. No carpet here, just soft, prego like flooring so you know it's clean. This is not the Fairmont, but it's great for what it is, a nice clean, quite place to get a good nights sleep. I stop here with kids, when ever I'm heading North, to Eureka, breaks up my trip a little. This place is clean, with good prices, HBO and Wifi. I'd call them directly rather then go through Priceline, Obitz, or CheapHotels, for better pricing. First check out price line and then call direct and check on pricing, works for me. Affordable, clean, basic motel--straight out of the 1950s. Bed was comfy, air conditioning worked well on a 100 degre day. Decor is a bit kitschy and cute--all just fine. Staff was friendly, and extra-ordinarily helpful. My son and I stayed 1 night while visiting another son at nearby Buddhist monastery. After arriving home, I realized that I had left an item in the room--I called, and they immediately knew that the item had been found, offered to mail, and it arrived in 2 days. I've stayed at 5-star hotels with less helpful staff, and lost items never to be retrieved--this was personal service. AAA rates. the extra star goes for the extra service! YES! read more

Right off the bat, these guys never represent themselves to be a 5 star hotel. It has a unique look, like a small ancient western town, and they label the rooms with names that would represent businesses in town, like "doctor", "bakery", "general store" ok you got the idea. Keep in mind that you've got to drive to the back to get this view. But what I want to say is what went right here. I made the reservation on priceline and they were all ready when I got here, no hassle. The room had everything we needed and it all worked well, like a little fridge, a little microwave and a combo aircontioner /heater , coffee maker. Nice big bed, with three pillows. Charming! What a surprise to find an affordable, clean and cozy hotel en route to the Redwoods. It's set up to resemble an old western town, with each room labeled 'Sherrif' 'Baker' etc ... It's also ran by an adorable, friendly family. Highly recommended for an overnight stay. read more

Stayed here for the first time last night and was pleasantly surprised! The staff is super friendly and accommodating, made everything very easy to check in and out, had my reservations and room ready. My room was very clean and comfy and offered things I didn't expect, like a micro and refridg - that actually WORKED! The a/c and heater both worked and the bed was comfy enough to give me a good nights sleep. I am very satisfied and plan on staying there again. My job takes me into that area weekly, so will be frequenting them. The layout of the motel offers a quiet stay, which is oh so welcome, when you desire peace and quiet! My family and I were on our way to the Kate Wolf Memorial Music Festival in Laytonville, and we booked two room for two nights at The Old West Inn. We were delighted with the old west theme. It was quaint and charming. We were pleased with how clean everything was. The bathroom was immaculate! We got there when it was still light in the early evening, and were able to walk nearby for dinner. The inn has a great location. Everyone associated with the inn was really nice and helpful. How do you rate complete honesty! Heres my story. I rode my Harley to Willits and arrived on a friday. I was carrying a wad of cash and decided to stash it in the room while I went to dinner. After a casual dinner at a local hamburger and beer joint I headed back to the hotel. I got violently sick form the food I had eaten and stayed in bed all of Saturday and then got up at 4 am Sunday to head back to Mt View before traffic. I was still very sick and about halfway home remembered that I had left my cash. I arrived home and called the motel and asked if they could retrieve it. My wife did not believe it would arrive but sure enough a couple days later it showed up. Every penny. That kind of honesty is rare and truly appreciated. read more

We recently stayed at The Old West Inn. I had read the reviews, they sounded good & we were very pleased. The rooms were clean and although it is right on Hwy 101, the rooms sit in the back so it was very quiet. The heater worked great, the bed was comfortable. It had everything we needed. I come here every year when I visit Willits, for the past few years. Best, cleanest place in Willits for the price. The rooms open onto a courtyard and the parking is just behind it, which gives it a cozy feel. The rooms are clean with nice TVs. The family who runs it lives on site and are very nice. The breakfast they give you is very minimal but they have a deal with a diner down the street for a variety of breakfast meal options in the $5 range. No complaints here. The motel is convenient, the staff efficient. Beds are super comfy and rooms are clean. The so called themed rooms only extend to the external of the rooms. The rooms themselves are not matched to the outside decor theme. Price was reasonable. Odd noises at night kept waking me up....could never pin point what that was about.
