Olde Theater Diner is more restaurant than diner. A small bar area is located at the back, up a few steps inside and accessible from the left side of the building. The main dining area is booth seating with two other dining area, one by the door, another in a sun filled addition to the left side. where you will find tables. There is also a function room on the right side where we attended an organization Christmas party some years back. See the hostess to be seated Food is diner type items such as a full on meatloaf meal, fish entrèe, Chicken parm, as well as sandwiches, burgers, pizza, apps and dessert. Something for just about everyone. Last visit I tried the taco salad. Theirs comes with black beans and a choice of ground beef or chicken in a flour tortilla bowl loaded with lettuce, tomato and cheese. This salad is huge. Banana peppers give it a slice kick with a medium salsa and sour cream side to mix in. Exellent dinner salad option. The chicken parm meal comes with spaghetti or ziti and is a large portion. You can also get the chicken parm as a sandwich if you prefer. Breakfast, lunch and dinner service. A local non-profit hosts an annual fund raiser here: a percentage of all meals eaten on a specific day goes to the non-profit organization. The restaurant does this often with local groups. Love that community spirit. Service is always friendly and attentive. Plenty of parking in front and to the side. Restrooms are by the door, a bit older but very clean.

Upbeat, positive experience everyone's really friendly. I have a friend that works in the kitchen. He came out to say hi to us even though he was slamming with service calls and stuff like that especially backed up due to tomorrow being the holiday, but the food was top-notch. It's always hot and fresh cooked as you weigh. It takes a little bit longer. It's definitely no pre-cooking here. It's quiet this morning and this is new time and luckily for us we're getting in before the rush is only about maybe I'll say 10 tables out of 30 that are taken right now. I'm in the main dining room. It was really wonderful. Everything's always clean and the people always friendly and you've never enough that they can do for you. Looking forward to coming again. It's definitely a hidden jewel off the main road.

We had a girls night out!! Yayyyyyyy I forgot to get pictures of our dinner but the special was a Pot roast dinner with two sides a drink and dessert. The roast was fork tender and flavor filled, mashed potatoes were good as well as the garlic sautéed green beans, crisp but cooked! Yummy The dessert....their desserts are ALWAYS AMAZING!! I had peanut butter pie and my cohorts had chocolate cream pie, both were yummmo!! We actually originally came to see and listen to Steve Smith and the Nakeds! They NEVER disappoint, even if the light show wasn't working! The band has three saxophones, a trumpet and a trombone as well as two, (or was it three?) guitarists, drums/percussion and a keyboardist. Then there's Steve, vocals and harmonica. THIS, this will make you smile, get up and dance, and laugh, their sense of humor and contact with the audience is amazing!!! Look them up and follow them , you won't be sorry you did! This was the second time they've play there and I'm sure it won't be the last, they had a blast!!

We are long-term customers with this establishment. We have eaten there every week, sometimes three times a week! Our bill is always $80-100. But. The food and service has been consistently good. Until the other night! We picked up our food as normal and headed home. We are only 5 minutes away. We opened up the grinders and found that they were burnt so bad, it was't even edible, the way they sold it. We tried to salvage what we could by placing the grinders contents into new bread. My wife called them, they said they were sorry and they would replace them for free, the next time we went there. My wife called them, before looking at the two pizzas that came with the two grinders. The pizzas we so burnt, we could barely eat them. My wife said, I already called them about the grinders and I'm not going to call them back about the pizzas too, we'll just talk to them about it when we go back. We figured that it was just a fluke! As this usually doesn't happen. So, today we decided that we would go there for lunch. My wife called in our order, stating that there should be 2 free grinders, included with our next order. Simple, right? Except the person on the phone said my wife was lying, and that the 2 free grinders were already picked up by someone else... what? If this is how they treat their loyal customers, I'm all set with giving them my hard-earned money! Period. What a shame! I thought they were genuinely good people, but I guess they proved me wrong! I hope if you go there for food, you don't have any issues with it, or you might just be wasting $100. plus tip! We are working class, blue collar people, and $100. is still alot of money, to us... That's not right, that's not how you treat people! These 2 pictures are of the pizzas, as proof to Olde Theater, when we went back. We didn't think of taking any pictures until after my wife had "fixed" the two grinders, by replacing the burnt rolls, with bulky rolls, we had at home. She also cut the burnt contents off, as it was not edible! What a waste of time and money!

Very slow service and subpar quality. I've been coming here for years, but my last two visits have been very disappointing.

We decided after Austin suggested the cornbread corn chowder to start. It was very creamy , tasty and a perfect temperature. We also enjoyed the crab croquettes and mussels. Also outstanding. The restaurant has a tree house in front of the entrance which explain the name of the place. Inside is beautifully decorated with flowers, books, old books and decorations. It's a busy place so we made a reservation. We were taken to one of the table and were seated right away. They offer various different type of dishes including sandwich, seafood, mac and cheese, salad, pizza and more. We ended up getting few things to share with the group. We got tree house tavern salad, special Thai mussel, sweet potato pizza, lobster mac and cheese, and whipped feta and ricotta. Everything end up arriving all at once. Treehouse tavern salad was slightly sweet and refreshing with candied walnut, apple and vinegary dressing. Thai mussel was flavorful with hint of Thai curry and coconut flavor. The broth paired very well with baguette. Sweet potato pizza was cheesy and savory with hint of sweetness from the sweet potato. Lobster mac and cheese was cheesy and flavorful with lobster chunks. Whipped feta and ricotta was sweet and savory pairing well with the baguette. All the food was tasty and easy very unique for the most part. We also had their desert which they bring full samples of all their desert to show. We ended up sharing cheese cake because we were pretty full. Service was good but the place was but the server was but awkward as little details were missing from the service. Lack of trays for mussel shells, brought desert with candle as it was my birthday but was blown out because of the fan. The server turned off the fan but left it off so it was hot inside for a while. I think service could use a bit more attention. Overall the place was good and food was excellent. They offer unique dishes you don't often find in other restaurants. The ambience is also nice and it reminds me of old time tree house. I would go back again m.

It was something else before (we visited for RI Food Fights #LordOfTheWings some years ago) but the establishment is under new management with a revamped menu. As a wife of a veteran, it is always wonderful to support a veteran-owned business. They wear their service on their proverbial sleeves. Everywhere you look, there is a tribute to our heroes. Hubby is a fan of meat on meat on meat pizza so we ordered the Cardiac Special - pepperoni, sausage, meatball, bacon & ham. There was a good amount of meat, pizza held up to the weight of the toppings & it was very tasty. I was in the mood for chicken strips & we ordered Garlic Parmesan & Nashville Hot. For former was nice & garlicky, the latter was spicy but not killer. Large juicy pieces of chicken that were lightly breaded. I want more! That evening, Flat River Tavern was hosting music bingo. The dude running it came up to us as we sat down to invite us to play. We weren't interested but it was fun to listen to the music for the game. The restaurant always has something going on - live music, food specials, DJ trivia.

Flat Service, and a River of disappointment…read more I had high hopes as my brother had mentioned he had been here a few times and really enjoyed it Went here after watching a game with my father in Saturday. He is 82, and I'm no spring chicken either. The place was moderately busy, but definitely not packed. We found seats at the bar right away and sat down. We were immediately treated (assaulted?) to the sounds of a warbling guitarist on furlough from a nearby assisted living, dutifully plucking out misaligned chords along with a voice that would make RFK Jr. sound like Pavarotti's protege. She worked through several tunes from her hippie-esque youth, which seemed a a stark contrast to the overblown MAGA-licious decor of the place. Dad and I sat at the bar, ignored for several minutes while we watched the young woman bartender chat with and serve several other guests. This included people who had already been served drinks and meals. No "hello". No "I'll be right with you", just chatting and chatting and chatting with two guys halfway down the bar and pouring beers for the folks who still had what was left of their first (fifth?) beer in front of them. It was then that we saw another man behind the bar walking towards us. And I thought, "oh, this must be his part of the bar, then. Surely he'll greet us and pour us a beer." NOPE. The guy gets to about three feet from us at the bar and turns away from us to face the wall, remote in his hand. He's not a server, he's the 'change-the-channel' guy. A task he performed with all the skill and charisma of a WalMart greater on work release. That's it for me. I'm 10 minutes in and no one has even acknowledged that we were at the bar. I tell Dad we're heading and we both stand up to put on our coats. The grinding sound of the chairs sliding back across the sticky floor must have inspired the lone remaining customer service neuron in the Flirty McTownie's bartender brain because as I was putting on my coat she managed to slog her self over to where we were to ask "Hey guys, can I get you something?" "We're all set" was pretty much the only response I could muster that wouldn't have included a torrent of curses and insinuations regarding questionable parentage. We left Honestly, unless there's no other choice, drive the extra 6 minutes into town. There are much better bars and restaurants with much better service, Old Theater Diner or Black Oak among them. Frankly, you'd probably get better service at the hot counter at Dave's... Probably better pizza too... Though we wouldn't know.

My fiancé and I ordered the Dominican breakfast, its eggs over medium, fried cheese, fried salami, mashed plantains with onions. Now I'm Hispanic and I love me a good Dominican breakfast but this was one of the best I've had ever! And trust me I've had many! Firstly the salami and cheese pieces were nice and big, I'm used to people being cheap and making them very small. Also we did pick up- so we were there a few waiting as it was made fresh, which I appreciate! The server I wish I would've got her name had us have a seat at the bar and got us water while we waited. She was such an aunty vibe and I loved it. I was observing others who were sitting down eating and their food looked so yummy! They were also equally out loud expressing how much they enjoyed their food. Also the plates are all decked out and even the tables they gave off love vibes!
