I attended an olive oil tasting class. Didn't realize there were so many variations of olive oils. The staff in the olive oil side was very pleasant. I had to wait a bit for my uber in the wine tasting side and it was definitely a different experience. I overheard a gentleman offer free wine to many patrons but never once to me. He can tell I purchased quite a bit in the store as I had a huge bag. I was the only black person there my whole two hours in the establishment but I truly hope that's not why I was ignored. The shop is located in the Oxbow public market. It's the only stall that sells olive oil and balsamic vinegar. It's very neat and organized. They press their own olives once a year and are locally grown. And they had a huge variety of olive oil and balsamic vinegar. I love that they have samples that you can pump and try before you buy. The sales lady was very nice and knowledgeable in all the different varieties. They have sets that are great gifts or souvenirs. They have sets already made or you can customize on your own. I loved the fact that you literally can buy all sizes and amounts. They even sell them by the ounce. It's nice because you can get some bread at the market and enjoy some balsamic and olive oil right there! They have such a meat flavors. And all of them you are able to taste. Stopped by The Olive Press and grabbed a bottle of their mango infused olive oil. It's amazing. Super smooth with just the right pop of flavor. I've already used it on salads, in a quick stir-fry, and even drizzled a little on fresh bread. The shop itself is really nice, with tons of unique oils and balsamics to taste, and the staff was friendly and helpful without being pushy. Cute little shoppe in the Oxbow Public Market! They had a massive taste-testing station on the side that caught me eye. Staff are most friendly and quite passionate about the oil pressery, giving some helpful context and suggestions for what we were tasting. I wasn't aware we had such a notable olive oil producer so nearby and my introduction to it is long overdue. Quality of the product speaks for itself, just drop by to try some if you're skeptical! Aside from all the olive oil aromas floating about, they also have plenty of high quality balsamic vinegars as well (not to mention a set of tastings available for them too!). We ended up getting multiple bottles to stock up, since we're not in the Napa area too often, but we already finished a blueberry vinegar bottle so we might need some more soon! read more

After we paid and started to leave we found a couple things we needed so we headed back to the register . There was probably 20 + bottles out for sampling and it smelled Amazing in there ! Cute little shop within Oxbow public market with all kinds of Italian goodies! From the olive wood bowls, serving utensils, spoons ... you get the picture to amazing Italian table clothes and napkins...yes they are beautiful and functional! Great spot for a little gift and they have Olive Oils, both regular and flavored blends. Also a vast selection of amazing balsamics was well. What I really love is their little recipe cards for all their oils and vinegars. The cards provide you with an idea for the use of their products but they are so beautifully done and inspiring! The product is good. The service at Oxbow market is not. The staff noticeably do not help people of color on multiple visits here. They do not greet us, completely ignore, no interest in helping just will take your money if you bring a bottle to counter. Zero warmth. Not even a simple hello and thank you for stopping in. Cooking is universal and we all have it in common. Why would you not want to tell us about your products or make suggestions or offer your sample? I have visited Sonoma shop a few times and we never experienced this. Oxbow market is more conveniently located so that past few times I have been coming here to pick up aged balsamic vinegar and olive oil, but I'm not sure I'll be coming back. I have tried several of their products over the years and enjoyed and a friend had even sent me a box set during Covid which was so fun. We went to the location attached to the winery a couple of weeks ago. I intended to just walk around but I was immediately greeted by a super friendly staff member who walked me through how to sample the oils and vinegars. It was a great experience and now I want to try one of their tasting classes even though I live in Texas. I did end up buying the Lavender Body oil which has instantly become my most favorite thing ever. It's not too oily, it softens the skin, and it smells divine. Normally I don't fall for the adorable olive-oil vendor ploy, but I'm pretty sure this time I've found the real deal. Free tastings of their oils and balsamic vinegars make it pretty easy to eke out what's great from what's just shmeh. Once I decide what I can do with this beyond just pouring it into my mouth, I'm sold. For locals, every Tuesday is local's day where you can bring in your bottles, (we use Johnnie Walker Double Black bottles), and buy bulk oil for less than 1/2 price. Worthy of a look around while exploring Oxbow Market - they have so many samples! From olive oil to balsamic vinegar, they let you sample almost every flavor so you have more confidence in your purchase. At the same time, it makes it difficult to figure out what to purchase. You can sample with some pieces of bread, or just taste the olive oil and vinegar on their own. I ended up buying a small bottle of chocolate balsamic vinegar, since it's rare for me to see one that tastes so good. I highly recommend the fig balsamic as well - fig balsamic is pretty common though (which is why I didn't buy it), but it always tastes really good! Fun stop in Oxbow. read more

It's a fun little spot, you can taste all different flavors, compare olive types, they have an olive oil for every occasion. They have tons of free samples on tap. They're sandwiched between the very hectic C Casa, Ritual Coffee, and Live Fire Pizza. It's comparatively small, tho their friendly service compensates for their lack of space. I really like the olive oil here & did ended up ordering some from their main store in Sonoma because the Oxbow location in Napa does not do curbside pick up which I feel does not take into account local Napan's who would love to buy their products but because of being immune compromised, cannot go into the oxbow. I drive by so many times & notice the large amount of crowds there with no masks. I don't think it's customer friendly to have to pay almost 20 bucks for shipping from Sonoma when I could easily do curbside pick up & pay online for a no contact purchase. I had never been to the Oxbow Market and I'm SO glad I finally got a chance to visit. Once inside I was overwhelmed by the cool and varied shops. Everything from spices to whisky to cupcakes to oysters but my favorite shop by FAR was The Olive Press. I love a good oil and balsamic and was quite impressed by their selections! You can purchase the bottled oils and balsamics OR you can purchase one of their very inexpensive bottles and have them filled. I will say, we chose several different sized bottles and chose an incredible Fig Balsamic (you MUST try this), a White Balsamic and a Blood Orange Olive Oil. Stickers are placed on each bottle accordingly so nothing gets mixed up! The shop has a great tasting variety and PLENTY of dipping bowls etc., to make anyone happy! I will definitely go back and refil my current bottles and eventually get some more! read more

Been meaning to hit the store in Sonoma for a while but this smaller outpost in Oxbow is a good start. Im usually not into flavored or mixed oils so I lean towards the simple pure straight presses. There are several different vendors; Tea tasting, Cheese Tasting, Chocolate Tasting...and Etc. I love going to the Oxbow market and explore. This particular trip I went Olive Oil and Vinegar tasting at a vendor by the name of "The Olive Press". They had numerous choices for both olive oil and vinegars. If I tasted them all I would have spent the whole day there. The employees are quick to have you start sampling and they know their stuff. They can tell you all about an oil and its different flavors as well as where it was grown. So I really liked an olive oil and wanted to buy it immediately. Then I tasted a Black Cherry Vinegar and I wanted that one too. The lady who was helping said she didn't think I would like the combination and seemed to be sincere. Boy was she right what a terrible flavor. So she paired an olive oil to the Black Cherry I was set on and made a perfect combination. She did not pressure me to buy anything and encouraged me to keep tasting away. I came away with the Black Cherry Vinegar; and have since mixed it with a very light Extra Virgin Olive Oil that lets the Vinegar shine but not be overpowered. Again, the Oxbow Market comes through with another vendor that has highly knowledgeable staff and high quality products. read more
