Just loved this place. We were on our way home and needed to tank up on some good food...and that we got!. Decent coffee, friendly service and enjoyed our breakfast! I love to try new places by ordering the corned beef hash...this was simply amazing, maybe the best I have had. The English muffin chewy and tasty and my wife's omelet with vegetables was really good. Though the broccoli was a bit undercooked. We chose some maple syrup and local jams to take home. Wondered why they did not serve these, versus the packets jelly. Coffee good and pastries looked great. We enjoyed the wait staff a bunch, and we decided to grab a lunch to go when we learned they roasted the Turkey themselves. Met Nancy's sister and told her this would be a place we will come back to when we travel this way again. read more

We were on route 1 looking for coffee and a snack and came upon this place I love that ordering and pick up was outside. When we saw the menu, we decided we wanted lunch. What a menu! There were lovely baked goods to choose from. My Brie grilled cheese was wonderful. It came with the most delicious side potato salad and pickles. A great extra! My husband got a turkey club that was enormous and he loved it. It covered both lunch and dinner. I brought home a pastry for breakfast. Service was very upbeat. First off I don't appreciate being robbed! Y'all may want to consider having itemized receipts! I ordered the corned beef hash for 12.95, an apple pie for 25.00 and a $3 pastry. You would think I did my part to support your bake sale! Why the heck am I charged a $6.03 for tips for a pick up order and no one makes me aware of this?? When I call in to place my order would be a great time to say you're adding a tip, or like before you swipe my card or maybe after?? I could have gone to Hannah Ford for that pastry and apple pie and I choose to support your "local business" why the heck would you rob me? Now about the food! How about letting folks know the corn feed is from the can considering it's the star of the show.. all over Portsmouth they serve real corned beef, if not they will ask you which you prefer or tell you it's from the can are you okay with that. No itemized receipts, they tell you one total and then when you get your cc slip you see they then tacked on an additional 15%Covid charge.. you have no Covid restrictions in Maine so this is a money maker. And although their seating is out doors they just scream your name, drop your food on a table and you have to walk over and pick it up ..what am I tipping for?? I'm not even sure what I got - a box full of shredded potatoes onions bacon and cheese and with all those ingredients it was absolutely tasteless. No flavor at all. My over easy eggs were over hard. They forgot my wife's croissant then looked annoyed when she mentioned and proceeded to hand over a cold one and got further annoyed when she asked them again to heat it up. Now this was defibately a yummy find enroute thru Maine to mid-NH. I especially enjoyed their lobster grilled cheese with both ingredients being generous. I was there b4 noon, so saw a couple tables with what looked like delish breakfast food. This is primarily a bakery(?), as there were many good looking baked goods and only about a handful of tables. Great service. All of the staff were lovely. Coffee was repeatedly filled up when getting low which was nice. I ordered the Traditional Eggs Benedict. Came with a side of home fries. The home fries were alright, seasoned well but some were a little hard as if not cooked long enough. Can you call it traditional eggs benny if it's one slice of thick cut ham covering both English muffins? Whatever the case it was delicious. Hollandaise sauce was thick and creamy, very flavorful. My wife had an omelette dubbed "Surfers Delight". She stated the eggs were slightly dry and the bacon was a little overdone. Same issues with home fries. Our server was awesome though and she answered all of our questions about the town and the art hanging in the restaurant. Always answered with a smile. I particularly liked their roast turkey and marbles rye bread. We went twice and each time our something in our order had to be brought back and replaced due to a misunderstanding. Stopped on a busy Father's Day on the ride home. We were seated quickly at the counter, despite the crowds, giving us a view of how this restaurant and catering kitchen runs. The food was unpretentious and served hot, exactly as ordered. Some places try to add some fussy items to please the tourists, but Nancy sticks to the basic, breakfast favorites, and does it right. I saw some bellinis and mimosas being prepared with a decent sparkling wine to the brunch crowd as well. But the real joy here was watching how Nancy interacted with her staff, especially the young girls who were clearly in training. She was instructing them with patience and care despite the hectic pace. Nancy's respectful treatment has clearly influenced her staff, all of whom were treating one another with manners and smiles usually reserved for the tipping customers. Old school diner in a new building. Split: one side tables, middle a bakery, the other side dining room. Off of US Route 1, if Flo's Hot Dog stand is closed this certainly is the place to go! Parking is plenty, and the staff is wonderful. The bakery has everything you would see in a city bakery. Croissants, pies, cakes, cookies and other little treats. The menu in the cafe is rather sophisticated; salmon eggs Benedict, quiche Lorraine both veggie and meat. Omelettes, pancakes, waffles, traditional breakfast, etc. Very nice place, very clean and friendly. Bakery goods are made in-site. Parking is ample. No negatives. read more

I used to think the food here was very quality and reasonably priced for what you were getting. I understand that Covid-19 has taken a terrible toll on restaurants and that prices need to be raised, but my experience with Nancy's today left me feeling that I won't return. A 15% gratuity is added onto all orders. If you don't know about this in advance,, expect to find that charge even though you are just picking up. We payed 46.00 dollars today for two coffees, a breakfast sandwich, a BLT wrap and a cup of sweet potato and corn soup. Seems steep, despite Covid. I ate half of my wrap and put the rest in the fridge for later. When I retrieved it to finish it off, I was half way through before choking on a long curly black hair. I am blonde and my husband is bald and this wrap was in its original wax paper. I promptly spit out what I was chewing and threw the rest in the trash. Also, despite calling ahead for my order, which I was told would be ready in ten minutes, there was a wait and my coffees were not in the order. Those were also prepared wrong, which I didn't notice til I got home. A review of our bank statement showed we had also been charged twice. I'm hoping this issue will be easily rectified, but I'm turned off entirely. Nancy's has been in business for a long time and the location is easily visible, but if the food continues to decline as prices rise, I don't see a bright future for them. Upon entering the establishment through the bakery area, you can smell the aromas of fresh baked pies, scones, quiches, and other bakery items. They offer the full breakfast and lunch menus for takeout or full service dining in the adjacent room, which has table seating and artwork on the walls. The breakfast offerings include egg dishes, omelettes, pancakes, French toast, croissants, rostis (grated potato dishes), hash, and sides. The lunch offerings include salads, homemade soups, sandwiches, wraps, cheese board, rosti, nachos, and comfort dishes (quiche of the day, chicken pot pie, mac & cheese, meat loaf, veg lasagna). I stopped here for lunch recently. I ordered the Quiche of the Day ($9.95) which was a Quiche Lorraine, served with a side of New England Clam Chowder (add $2). The chowder had a not so thick creamy broth and had plenty of tender clams and potatoes, good flavors, not too rich. This was the best find of our vacation! The first time we got breakfast sandwiches, who knew you could pack so much in? Then we came back the second day for spinach and feta croissant, raspberry and cream cheese croissant and scones. They were amazing. We then stopped for lunch and had some chowder. Their cup size was the size that most other restaurants serve as a bowl. It came with homemade bread and crackers. The service was very friendly. A must stop when in the area. read more

I read other views online about the food and wanted to try it. Got a little tired of seafood for a day. We walked in at 11:30am and we were told that they were no longer serving breakfast. I went online and found nothing that specified breakfast hours so we thought it was like a regular cafe or diner where they serve it all day. We were really disappointed when they didn't. So we sit down and immediately the top of the table comes up and hits my daughter on the chin. Then we hear 3 more sets of people asking why they aren't serving breakfast and one of the women actually says, "I come here all the time. You guys never stop serving breakfast." After 5 minutes of sitting we start sweating. Then I notice HUGE fans are EVERYWHERE. We sit for a few more minutes and I start to become incredibly faint because it was just so dang hot. We couldn't tell who our waitress was because I guess the owner Nancy kept coming over micro managing her employees. I could see the frustration in the poor girls face who seated us. Other may say, "oh she was incredibly involved with everything that's great!" But as a former waitress myself she was just ON TOP of her employees. We waited just a few more mins and asked to take our order to go. There was no way at this point we could enjoy our meal with how hot it was inside. They even tried to point one of those giant fans in our direction but as soon as they turned it the table the fan was on complained. I ordered the quiche Lorraine and it was OK. the crust was soggy and it was filled so much cheese I barely noticed how the eggs tasted. The soup of the day was a sweet potato in a corn chowder. The flavors were wonderful together. We've been coming to York for 3 years now so maybe next time we would try it out if the environment was a little better. read more

We used Nancy's catering for my daughter's wedding weekend. From the rehearsal dinner (for 60) to Sunday's brunch (for 65) and couldn't have been happier. The food was incredible and her waitstaff were the best. Her appetizers of chowder, pizza and shrimp were all a hit as well as her beef tips! Sunday's brunch arrived right on time and everyone enjoyed her quiches and muffins. We even order dinner for Sunday night so we could relax and watch football. My wife and I were in the York/Ogunquit area yesterday to do some shopping on Small Business Saturday. A friend who runs a small business in Cape Neddick suggested we stop in at Nancy's for lunch. Boy, are we glad we did! This place has been open since May and has built its clientele mainly through word-of-mouth. It's open for breakfast and lunch only and has a catering and takeout business in addition to the dining establishment. We got there about 1pm to find a bustling takeout business but only one occupied table. We were seated promptly and warmly, and water (as well as the ubiquitous coffee for me) came quickly. The menu featured a variety of sandwiches, salads, and soups/chowder, along with several entrees. My wife ordered vegetarian lasagna, which came with fresh whole wheat bread and a large and perfectly fresh side salad. I ordered a roast beef Reuben. Both were excellent. For dessert my wife ordered a raspberry oatie with vanilla ice cream. Absolutely to die for!! We enjoyed our meal so much we spent about $80 more on frozen meals and a variety of baked goods...including several more oaties! Everything we have tried so far has been fabulous. As we were checking out, our waitress Cindy introduced us to the whole staff. You can tell that these people really care about their work and the food they put out. Needless to say, we have found a new favorite lunch spot when we are in the area. read more

My wife and I ate breakfast here yesterday. I had the Irish Benedict and it was excellent. My wife had two eggs, bacon and pancakes. The pancakes were pretty on the plate but they were not light and fluffy. Service was outstanding and staff was friendly. I would have given a five star rating except for the pancakes. read more

Good selection, but mediocre taste. Definitely do not like being charged at 15% "Covid tip" when there wasn't much service to begin with as your meal is not even brought to you. What a great breakfast spot! Freshly baked breads and muffins, substantial breakfasts, friendly and attentive wait staff; this place has it all. There is plenty of parking. It is a standalone restaurant. You walk in and are greeted like friends . We ate here 2 mornings in a row. The first day with a party of 6 and the second day with a party of 8. They were able to accommodate us quickly both days. We were able to order quickly and the food came out quickly, which was great for large parties. I am gluten free and there were plenty of gif options. They have a very nice gf bread option that they serve with eggs. It is slightly sweet, light, holds together well, and is a little bit nutty; just delicious. I had eggs Benedict, the Rosti the first day, and I could barely eat half of it there was so much there. The second day I just had a poached egg, bacon, gf bread And potatoes. I also had a beautiful bowl of fruit that we shared with the table. Everyone in our parties was happy with their meals . The wait staff came around with coffee for refills every 5 to 10 minutes. The owner was in the open kitchen getting the meals out. It is a great place that I highly recommend read more

FARM-TO-TABLE FOODIES REJOICE! Pure chance that my wife and I stopped at Nancy's Catering for an outdoors brunch. The food - eggs with broccoli, cheese, mushrooms, scones, fresh (deep, rich, aromatic) coffee, scones and - yes, a mimosa - was outstanding. After the first few bites, I noted to my wife that "these taste like fresh, local eggs." Sure enough - I later read their farm sources on their ordering boards. While I can't assure you that everything they serve is local/farm-to-table this certainly seems to be the case. Reasonable prices, away from (but close enough to) the Shore Road congestion and a waitstaff who always managed to have smiles on their faces - what more can I say? Oh - how about this: they're dog friendly ;) We're returning for another brunch - and at least 1 take away dinner - during our next couple of days in Ogunquit.
