I did a facial with Melissa which was 10/10. She was kind, friendly, asked me a couple questions at the beginning but then provided a quiet relaxing experience throughout. I had been to Christine's Spa before, it was fantastic. DO NOT book an appt w/ Quinn!!!!!. Worst facial ever in 40 yrs!!!!!!!! I specifically told Christine & Quinn what I wanted to achieve from the facial. My skin was the same when I left after paying $100 as it was, going thru the awful facial. None of the white bumps were extracted, Quinn did not use Lancets like Christine and I requested. Quinn had on heavy blue plastic gloves and it REALLY hurt when she tried to extract them manually. It was AWFUL!!! Even the massage was HORRIBLE, which is usually the best part of the facial. I called Christine to make her aware of this, she was going to call me back, she never did. I left another message and wrote her an email. I was very upset and disappointed that she treated an unhappy client like this. Sooo bummed, I should not have been spending $100 on a facial, but I really thought I would leave and have not, all alot of the white bumps gone from my face, did not happen at all!!!!!!!!!!!! I had some spa media gift cards to use, so I was looking for a place nearby that used them and discovered Christine's. I scheduled the Bliss package, which includes facial, massage and anti fatigue treatment. The spa is a lovely, comfortable space. I had my facial with Viviana and it was great. My skin was really dry and dehydrated and irritated, but felt hydrated and soft by the time Viviana was done. My massage and foot treatment were with Jillian. I had been really achy and just wanted some physical relaxation. I seriously thought I was going to melt, the massage was so good. If you are a person of color I do not recommend this place. I hate giving bad reviews, never actually done. but I wouldn't want someone to go through what I went through. I went there for electrolysis on my chin and explained how I have sensitive and keloid prone skin! still they used extremely high heat!! My chin got swollen with little red dots and after 3 days I got burn marks on my chin and I still have the marks till now and it's been months. I'm trying to do everything to get rid of them. She never explained to not use any products on my face before coming, and never explained to not use any products with active ingredients while doing the treatment. The receptionist was hesitant both times I went. They usually take cards to keep on file just in case if you cancel. She never took mine. read more

Horrible customer service. I booked a 30 minute appointment, which was confirmed by the receptionist and the masseuse upon check-in. After the massage was complete, the masseuse tells me that she accidentally gave me a 60 minute massage because that's what clients usually want. The receptionist wanted to charge me for the entire 60 minutes, even though I only asked for 30. After I complained, the owner only agreed to give me an additional discount of $20. I don't believe I should have paid for anything over 30 minutes, since I had no control over the situation. Ultimately, this argument should have been between the masseuse and the owner. It stinks because the massage itself and the atmosphere was wonderful, but this is no way to treat new clients. read more

Despite not being an easy place to find, it is a very nice place. Although this is basically an old house they have it set up so it can be a massage & spa place. They are friendly & have a variety of services they offer here. Even though I ended getting there late, since I got lost, I still had to wait before they were ready for me. I didn't quite understand that but I just sat & waited until it was time for me to get my massage. They have water, tea & cookies which is nice, but maybe they should offer it while you're waiting instead of having to wait until afterwards. I was all about the massage, it had been a while since actually getting one & stumbled upon it from nift. I had Theresa as my massage therapist & was quite pleased. I had a certificate from Nift which was really nice and unexpected. After reading reviews to several spas I decided to go with Christines day spa. I'm so happy with my decision. As soon as I walked in I felt relaxed because of the smell. The staff were all very nice and I was able to get a same day appointment for a 60 minute massage. I first want to say that if this was a review of Viviana alone, it would have 5+ stars. She's amazing and welcoming and unbelievably talented. My issue is with how the spa is run. I was a customer for nine years, seeing Viviana every 3 weeks - so this is not the opinion of someone who popped in once and had a random bad experience. While I don't think that management has bad intentions, they are missing out on keeping clientele because of how things are run. Appointments are chronically late. One time, after waiting 30 minutes past when my appointment was going to start, I was FINALLY acknowledged by staff - and not to apologize for the wait, but to ask me if I wanted to pay before my appointment so that I didn't have to stop on my way out. I said no, because at that point if my appointment didn't start in 5 minutes, I was leaving. Someone then went upstairs to tell Viviana that I was mad at her - which was not the case. I was frustrated that I was not greeted, that I had to sit there and listen to staff on a personal call, and then was asked to pay before the service occurred. The real reason I don't go there anymore? Because I absolutely refuse to pay a fee to use my card when I go there. I do not carry cash (although I always tip in cash - one time I didn't have any on me and I was basically shamed for it when I asked if just once they could overcharge my card to make up the tip). When I saw the sign that said that the charge was being passed onto customers, I refused and luckily had cash on me - and I have not been back. First, I'm almost positive that's illegal. Secondly, it's the price of doing business. It's also disappointing that after how long I had gone there, no one ever reached out to see why I hadn't been back. Had a poor experience. I made an appointment for micro blading and consulted ahead of time. All was agreed upon. The day and hour - I arrived slightly early. Was told my appointment had been cancelled. I showed them the text confirmation sent by them the day prior. I was then told a series of strange stories. No numbing cream ( that's bullshit). Then there was concern about a medical note. Also, bullsh*t. The reason I needed the microblading was because of my medical note. Idiocy. I've been a client at Christine's since I moved to the South Shore six years ago. I love visiting! It's such a treat to walk in the door and immediately be charmed by the thoughtful and welcoming layout. For starters, the aroma is therapeutic and relaxing, putting a client in the right mood. Also in the waiting area, there's a water dispenser with sliced lemons and limes available to refresh. It's touches like that which add to the calm approach to a spa visit. Personally, what I like about it, is that the structure is still that of a house, instead of one treatment room lined up after another. Still aesthetic without an overly-'clinical' vibe. And, of course, the services offered are comprehensive and competitively priced. read more

Kind of amazing: UPDATE- I couldn't believe it, but the folks at Christine's not only read the reviews, but respond to them. After my lousy review of the Waxxident, they offered me a complimentary service to try them again. They assured me they had fired the offending waxer. They were SO nice, SO solicitous and my appointment was with the famous Viviana who gave me what was, quite possibly, the most painless wax I have ever gotten. Plus she was super sweet and positive zen-like, good vibes all around. You can't hate on that. I have a whole new respect for Yelp and for Christine's. Go there. Fo' real. OLD REVIEW: Because I am trying to be a Positive Person, I will do the "feedback sandwich"- the critique smooshed between the positive slices of bread. Of course, keep in mind whenever someone gives me the "feeback sandwich" I think it's a load of crap and want to share with them my "knuckle sandwich".. .but here we go. Slice of bread #1: There is free water, tea and cookies. The exit to get here is right off the highway. There are magazines to look at. Filling: Oh dear me. I feel awful naming names, but let's just say I should have listened to other yelpers and requested who they mentioned. Cuz this wax was a nightmare. Waxer running 30 minutes late (!), airconditioning broken (one of these insane 1000 degree days)- so she was in a rush-not what you want when having your bikini and brows waxed- and huffing and puffing cuz she was exerting herself so much in the heat. I was worried she was going to keel over each time she WENT OVER THE SAME PLACE again and again on my upper thighs- OUCH! She used latex gloves, props for being sanitary, but after each wax rip, she'd press on the point of wax to be 'comforting' and managed to get the glove stuck to the sticky part, so it was like a little mini-rip after the real one. No thank you. And I would like to say- it is two days later and I have a scab on my eye from her ripping, and there is no way I'd wear a bikini right now without someone calling social services. There are still welts on my back thighs, and my front thighs are bruised AND have a huge scab. Slice of Bread #2: The bathroom had toilet paper. (I'm trying here....) Needless to say- hell no. I usually go to the larger, well-known day spas because I am always afraid of what I might get at some small, shady, local place. Christine's did not have that feel at all. This is a really cute and cozy place. The staff was very accommodating and professional. Located in a house, Christine's has three floors. Most services are done on the second floor with the exception of manicures and pedicures, which are on the first. There is a third floor lounge, which can be reserved for special occasions. We used it for a bachelorette spa day. They also let you bring in your own food and wine, or you can get platters delivered from Roche Bros. Marci did a great job on my Therapeutic Swedish Massage. The heated mattress pad also made a huge difference! It was only $65 for the hour massage, which is a pretty good deal since most places charge $80 and up these days. LOVE! I have been getting my eyebrows waxed since I was probably 15 (now 23), and sadly, it is a rarity for me to actually like the outcome. I have full eyebrows and a nice shape. Please, estheticians, don't turn them into pencil-thin cartoony lines! With that said, I ventured out to Christine's a few days before graduation (after extensive research on yelp). I asked for Viviana, but she was on vacation. I regretfully do not remember the name of the woman who I had my appointment with, but she was GREAT! I had been in and out of salons all over downtown Boston when I tried Christine's on a whim because they were close to my house and very friendly on the phone. Best decision I have ever made about a spa. Vivianna is efficient, friendly, and honest. I just started having facials by her as well and have not been disappointed. She told me exactly what she was doing and took notes about my skin's reaction along the way. They have a new nail tech who is great too...finally, the last one was not detail oriented and was just OK. If this post was solely about Vivianna, I would give her a 5 and continue to give her a 5. This review is about Christines Day Spa charging a "request fee" for Viviannas services. I was surprised when the girl at the desk said 20 and asked if the prices had gone up. She stated that it is a request fee because so many people ask for Vivianna and with the holidays she gets booked quickly. I looked confused and she then adds that they have actually been doing it since the summer. I told her I was there in November and was not charged that (either was my mom and the 5 others I referred). I clarified that it was just for " requesting Viv". She said yes and for everyone else it's cheaper. I've been going to Christines since they moved to Quincy. Seems like they jacked up the price around the holidays because they have someone who's excellent at their job and people like. It would be one thing for their prices to go up but to call it a request fee and talk about the holidays and then back track like that seems wrong. This place would be ill equipped without Viv and I think they know that. read more

I would never go anywhere else and am particularly fond of Viviana for eyebrows. she made me look like i had an actual forehead lift! i called for a last minute appointment with Viv and was told she was booked and that a girl, christie was available, i was reluctant to book with anyone else but bit the bullet. she did not disappoint! my eyebrows came out as good as they always do here. i highly recommend this place for electrology, waxing and facials. i bought my boyfriend facials here before and he looked like a different (younger) man. he loved it. i highly recommend christines! read more

Ask for Tania: The spa is very clean and decorated nicely giving you a warm sense as you walk through the door. The rooms are also very comfortable with relaxing music that sets the mood for some great pampering. I have been here now 4 times and I have Tania do my facials and messages. She is friendly,outgoing and does a wonderful job on this guys face. Also my lower back was in knots and I was happily surprised that she relieved my pain in that one visit. This was my first visit to the day spa at this location. (Christine's was formerly located on Hancock Street, just outside of Quincy Center.) Based on the reviews from other Yelpers, I took the leap of faith and booked an appointment with Vivianna for bikini, eyebrow, and lip. (Yeah, HUGE leap of faith!) Fortunately, I was not mislead. Vivianna is not only warm and personable, she also did a fantastic job on my waxing. Vivianna is meticulous but works very quickly. The space, itself, is nicely decorated and provides a nice environment for relaxation. However, the spa is located directly next to the Southeast Expressway/Route 93 so traffic noise is prominent and does intrude into this city oasis. Since the spa is in a multi-story house, there are probably some rooms with less noise pollution. The silver lining to that cloud is that it is right off the expressway so it is convenient but parking is definitely tight. There is on-street parking and about 6 spots at the rear of the house. Overall prices are slightly higher than average for this area, especially with all the competition in Quincy. Since this was my first experience at Christine's, I am giving it 3 stars, with a high recommendation to go see Vivianna. According to their pricing and service menu, eyebrow waxing with Vivianna is slightly higher but she is well worth the extra money. read more

I had a very nice 90 minute massage here with Lisa. She was outstanding, and I highly recommend her. I like very firm massage, and asked her for the firmest level of pressure, and she definitely delivered. I'd done bikram yoga and played squash 2 of the prior 3 days, and was exceedingly sore, but left feeling very refreshed. The building itself is just a house, so they don't have the locker room / suana facilities that a larger spa would. But, for being out on the border of Milton and Quincy, this place will certainly do if you need a massage. read more

Even with 93 because so close it's a very quiet and welcoming atmosphere and the staff is really friendly. I got my brows waxed and it was quick and very well done. Got my eyebrows done here for the 1st time, as in first time ever. The spa is in a lovely Victorian creating a peaceful, homey atmosphere. Im giving 4 stars since i had to go back to get them reshaped when i realized they weren't even, oops. I've been here twice for an eyebrow wax, once with Christine and once with Vivianna. Both are really great! Christine is fast, efficient and does a good job. She somehow magically made my eyebrows even again when they were both different heights. Vivianna is also excellent and somehow magically gave me an arch when I've barely had one. When I first arrived at the spa I was happy that there was parking available in the back, it was also extremely easy to get to! I was greeted by Jessica who was doing my facial. I had the most relaxing experience. The facial was so peaceful and enjoyable and the shoulder massage felt so amazing! This is my 4th time here. I've had 2 electrology treatments and 2 massages. I have been going to electrology for my chin for years now. While I have had decent results elsewhere, this is the first place where I can report that my chin remains clear for an extended amount of time. I don't know what the difference is in the technology or the process here compared to the other places I have visited. I just know that something is working here better than other places. Also, I have no words to describe how perfect my two massages have been! Really they were both extraordinary. This place is very homey and very clean and the women who work here are very kind.
