    Playboy Brookhaven

I consider myself a sushi connoisseur and I decided to check this place out. Something to note, they're under new management so completely ignore their happy hour section on their website -- it's no longer there. Decent sushi. Didn't wanna rate it too low just because I didn't like the sushi I ordered but it was meh. The Playboy was my favorite but the Brookhaven roll was just ok to me. Not quite sure if I'd make my way back over here for it necessarily. I was mostly coming to the happy hour. Nice ambiance and decent sized restaurant so good for small-medium groups!

This is a neighborhood sushi spot that is in a small and walkable area of Brookhaven. They are in a block of restaurants and shops and have free parking in the back and on the street. I sat at the bar and it took about 5 min for someone to come and talk to me but after that I was good. The wait staff were all pretty friendly. The men in the front making sushi were also pretty chill as well (that's because I sat right in front of them at that bar top lol). They have a full bar at the restaurant so if you are coming to drink, that should be fine. Oddly enough, the bar shares space with the sushi bar so they kind of have to work together in the same space. For a busy evening, that seems like that isn't efficient lol. Beef bulgogi ramen was good. It had mad flavor and I would order again. Fried squid legs were pretty good too. They had a pretty good sauce and they were huge. Not just regular calamari..but it was almost the whole bottom of the squid. Hibachi (chicken and shrimp with fried rice) had a good taste to them. It was not a lot though. Not sure what I expected but it was a smaller portion for sure. Double Decker roll was great. That's all I got lol. Calamari was okay, the squid legs were better. They were the flash fried out of the bag type (I am assuming) so nothing Earth shaking about them. Chicken karaage *see calamari review* Bang bang shrimp *see calamari review* I would actually go back here but I would not necessarily go back for all of the appetizers. I will go back probably for a sushi roll or two, but just regular fried food out of a bag didn't do anything for me.

Me and My daughters favorite place for dinner after a long week! The best ramen and drinks and sushi. We are regulars! Spinning the wheel is the best too!

This place was no nice and welcoming! Staff is absolutely amazing, super friendly and so attentive, we even got some complimentary appetizers! We loved the food, sushi were so good, fish so fresh! Baked roll with cream cheese (forgot the name) was the best! Thank you for a great time, the one restaurant! We will be back!

Very nice Japanese sushi restaurant with kind staff. The atmosphere is lively and perfect for dates or gatherings whatever the occasion. The fish is very fresh and cut day of and everything is perfect.

We love One Sushi! Staff are kind and attentive. The sushi is fresh and delicious. Great happy hour deals (5-7pm). They have a Bento Box for kids that gives a very generous helping and lets them taste a variety of foods. They even do cute dessert options for kids - orange slices shaped like rabbit and ice cream with crumbled Oreos and mint in a potted plant to look like a tree. This is a wonderful restaurant for Brookhaven families - win win for kids and adults!

Hubby was craving sushi for dinner, but it was too hot and humid to get out and about so we chose to have delivery. One Sushi Plus came up in the list of recommended options and we had never tried it before. We love getting surprised by new yummy food options. We spent a pretty penny but most were worth it because of the quality of ingredients and unique flavor combinations. I would skip the "side" items of miso soup, ginger house salad, and edamame. These were just ok, not very flavorful, and seemed like they came from a different kitchen compared to the sushi selections we made. The sushi was delicious and all tasted very fresh and had unique flavor combos. We sampled multiple rolls and a few appetizers. Asparagus fries were crispy even via delivery. The Spicy Tuna on the Rock was good but we suspect it would have been better if we had been eating in person (if we received it fresh from the kitchen). I was a bit disappointed that the yellowtail jalapeno shots offered and sold through the delivery app were not actually delivered as shots. The liquid part was not included, but the yellowtail and accoutrements on top still tasted good. We also had chirashi don (chef's choice of 12 slices of sashimi on a bed of seasoned sushi rice), chanel replica, picante, double decker, and avocado cucumber rolls. My favorite of these was the chanel replica and picante was hubby's. Everything came well packaged and looked pretty when we opened the containers. We'll keep One Sushi Plus on our list to visit in person!

Everything was excellent as ALWAYS. I drive almost an hour to get this sushi and it's worth the time and the money. We love to also order the salami fried rice which can be shared between 2-3 people depending on what else you order. Served fresh and piping hot. The first two pictures are from a previous visit that I forgot to post and the remaining pictures are from this week. If you are ever in the Brookhaven area stop by The One Sushi, you will not be disappointed

This was my first time here and I came with my friend. The environment was very cozy and our server was extremely friendly and attentive. I told my server I've never been here before and to just give me anything they recommend and I do not regret it. Honestly I've been to a lot of different sushi spots in Atlanta, Dunwoody, Duluth, etc but this one got me takes the crown the quality of the fish cuts are out of this world. This to me is a hidden gem and as much as I would love to gatekeep this spot I told everyone I knew about this place. 10/10 I would 100% recommend!

One of our favorite restaurants in our neighborhood. Food and service for me has been great. I normally get the hot meals while my friends usually eat sushi. Both types of meals have been consistently good. I had the Stone Pot Bibimbap and it was so good and a very large portion. I had leftovers for days lol

The produce is consistently fresh, which I appreciate since that's usually the first thing I check. My main gripes: the checkout lines can get long, especially during peak hours, so budget extra time if you're stopping by after work or on weekends. I've also noticed a few expired items still on the shelves here and there, so it's worth double-checking dates before you toss things in your cart, particularly with packaged goods. Overall, the fresh produce and organic variety keep me coming back, but they could tighten up on stock rotation and staffing at checkout.

I ended up getting about $87 worth of groceries for $63 (which unfortunately doesn't go very far these days, but still a nice discount). I liked that you can choose a pickup time within 1-2 hours for no extra cost. I didn't run into any inventory issues, and I appreciate that they use a refrigerated Kroger van for deliveries. That's a big step up from Walmart. They do use some third-party services too, so it likely depends on how you order. I picked up this time, but I plan to try delivery soon. My only downside is product availability between pickup and delivery. Kroger always seems to have odd restrictions -- dish soap is often "delivery only," and this time Coleman's Mustard powder was only available for pickup while the regular version was delivery only. The bathroom wipe situation was similar: certain brands were either one or the other. I ended up choosing delivery for most of my items and then walked inside to grab the Cottonelle wipes, which were fully stocked. It makes me curious about how these rules are decided. Other than that, this is a solid grocery ordering option, and I'll definitely use it again.

What a phenomenal experience every time…read more I stopped into 26 Thai after an event and wow, I'm so glad that I did. First, this place is beautiful! The restaurant decor is dark and moody, but easily lights up with the natural lighting in certain corners of the restaurant on an afternoon in Brookhaven. Before that visit, I had ordered from 26 Thai a number of times but realized that I was ordering from a different location. This Brookhaven location offers sushi and ever since my first visit, I've been back a number of times. First let me say, the staff is amazing here. A woman who I believe is the owner came up to greet us and continued to check on us and thank us for visiting. So sweet! Our cups never went empty and they were incredibly patient. I have had a number of dishes here since my first visit but have now found my favorites: **Thai dumplings - packed with chicken, shrimp and vegetables and paired with a tangy sauce - these are incredible! **Crab cheese rolls - There's no imitation crab meat here, only flavor. They're packed with a cream cheese and crab combo, I'd love more crab in it but they're better than any I've tasted **Tom Yum soup - I love tom yum soup, the spicier the better! I like the veggie version and it's so much flavor in the broth, my only complaint is that it's not a bigger portion **Basil fried rice - Always a winner **Tsunami & Fireball - My top two spicy rolls! Having been to most of the fine sushi restaurants in Atlanta over the last 10 years, we decided that instead of going back to Umi or MF Sushi, we'd finally check out Nobu for my birthday. We dressed for a special Saturday night date, and the hotel itself is beautiful. We were seated promptly, but I was immediately a little confused by the seating. Despite this being noted as a birthday/date night, the two of us were seated at a large round four-top right in the middle of the restaurant. It felt neither intimate nor particularly special. In general, the dining room felt much more open and almost cafeteria-like than the elegant, high-end sushi atmosphere I was expecting. The music was great and definitely added to the vibe. Our server was friendly and mostly attentive, although we saw much less of him as the evening went on. Even some of the smaller details felt surprising at this price point. The restroom was a little messy, there weren't nice hand towels or other elevated touches, and not even a full-length mirror. None of those things matter much individually, but when you're paying for a luxury dining experience, the details are part of what separates it from an average restaurant. They did bring out a small birthday dessert with a candle, which was an appreciated gesture, although there was nothing personalized or written on it. The biggest disappointment, unfortunately, was the food. We started with the Hamachi and the Tiradito recommended by our server. The Hamachi was very good, but the Tiradito had such a similar flavor profile that I was surprised our server recommended both rather than steering us toward something that would give us more variety. The crispy rice with tuna was pretty good. The rock shrimp was heavily battered, but enjoyable. Those were probably among the better items we ordered. The sushi rolls, though, were extremely underwhelming. We tried three different rolls, and there wasn't a single one we would order again. For a restaurant at this level, they honestly reminded me more of decent takeout sushi than something I'd expect from Nobu. Ultimately, the price-to-experience ratio is why I landed at three stars. If this were a middle-of-the-road sushi restaurant and dinner cost $200, I probably wouldn't think much of these complaints. But when dinner for two is around $500, expectations are understandably much higher. At that price, I expect several dishes to be memorable, thoughtful recommendations from the server, elevated attention to detail, and a little extra care when the reservation is for a special occasion. Unfortunately, we just didn't get that experience here. For our next high-end sushi date night, we'd definitely choose one of our Atlanta favorites before returning to Nobu. It wasn't terrible by any means--it simply didn't feel remotely worth the price.
