We came here for happy hour/dinner after a work event and enjoyed great food and service. There were almost 20 of us in our party but the servers were very kind and attentive throughout the night. A few of us didn't get our entrees and had to ask for them after everyone else had mostly finished theirs, but that was just a tiny hiccup considering how large of a group we were. I was able to try most of the appetizers on their menu, all of which were great. Then I split the stroganoff and trout with a teammate and both of them were delicious! I really wanted to like this place but after sending my food back twice I really can't say that I will be back. I ordered the short rib benny and the poached eggs that they brought out were completely undercooked. Like severely undercooked. Gross undercooked. So reluctantly I sent it back and asked for it to be remade and they did with apologies. The remade plate came back with once again severely undercooked poached eggs. I gave up and said I would just eat the potatoes. The waitstaff, hosts, and everyone else we interacted with were great and very nice. Went for breakfast on Sunday. My wife and I entered from McGregor Square where were we noticed people lined up out through the doors to the hotel lobby. Naturally, we went to the back of the line. When we arrived at the front, other people entered through McGregor, saw the line and asked the greeter if they should go to the back of the line (there was no one behind us). The greeter said that there is no specific "line" and worked with them immediately. We felt that once a line forms the greeter should manage the patrons arriving. We were to be seated right after that so we did not say anything. We told the greeter that we would like to sit outside and she proceeded to take us to an inside table. We politely repeated that we would like to be outside and we were shown to an outside four top. You can order from the QR Code at the table but we asked for the paper place-mat menu (good idea for utensils not touching the outdoor tabletop). We waited a short time for the server and ordered with her. Our server told us they had hot black tea but then we received pomegranate tea (not a problem for us but a mistake none the less). She also offered a pot of hot water but never brought it. We asked another server who reminded her to bring the water. We had the Challah French Toast (two slices) and the Sourdough Pancakes (three pancakes). French toast was large tall and fluffy and was cooked perfectly on the outside. The inside was dry as it was not properly soaked in the egg batter before cooking. Also, we felt that there should have been three slices for the price. The pancakes however, were thin and delicious. We took home half of the pancake plate and heated it up again for dinner. In summary, the staff needs more training. We would go back. read more

The croughnut sliders are a uniquely tasty way to start, the steak and eggs were on point, and the heritage grain salad was so good you couldn't even tell it was healthier. Came for the bottomless mimosas, stayed for the yummy food and the good service. We had a party of 5 and made reservations before hand, and we were sat pretty quickly when we showed up. We ordered some of the croughnuts as an appetizer with our first round of mimosas - both were super yummy. The croughnuts definitely gave churro vibes. We all ordered something different for brunch itself, but everything was pretty dang tasty and came our quickly. We were all pleasantly surprised that even the deviled eggs blew our minds. Can't really go wrong with anything on the menu. The atmosphere was so cute and retro and the service was great too. The one thing that matters most to guys is where it fails miserably, The Food. Wife took me here for brunch and we tried the restaurant week menu. I had the steak & eggs and my wife got the breakfast burrito. My wife's burrito was mainly eggs and a little sprinkling of potatoes, then barely smothered with a beef green chili. Wife ate half and packed the rest. My steak was so burnt that all I could taste was burnt meat. My over easy eggs was over hard. And my potatoes were overly fried I was crunching it in my mouth. Towards the end I just ended up removing the burnt char just so it would be palatable (reference my picture). Worst breakfast I've ever had and it wasn't cheap.. $100 including 20% tip for two meals, a bland Bloody Mary and a mimosa. Breakfast is suppose to be the cheapest meal of the day. Slow and Cold! We were super excited to finally visit McGregor Square and ended up leaving mid meal. I get that they're new and working things out but 1.5 hours for cold diner food is not acceptable. Beers were super cold but took forever - poutine was so cold - Brussel sprouts were actually great as was the deviled egg. Burgers, chicken sandwich and BLT weren't just slow and cold they were bad. Hostess and server were under qualified / motivated but eventually the manager stopped over offered to complete the meal and bring our new everything but was host and said it was going to be awhile - respectfully offered leaving as a option if the time window wasn't favorable. I liked this place. It was comfortable and the croissant bites were amazing. It looks like we got some weird potatoes compared to normal. They were tiny cubes that were dry and hard to eat with a fork. All of our plates came with a ton of them and no one finished them. I would've rather had hash browns or something. Over half of their tables outside and inside were open, but the staff got a bit of an attitude when we said we didn't have a reservation. We sat at the bar, which was fine. The menu was pretty disappointing as vegetarians, the only savory meal option was an Impossible Burger, with a $4 up charge. I've seen a dollar or two but $4 on an already pricey burger just didn't seem worth it. We ordered two plates off of the "sharing" section of the menu-but that was kind of a joke. The Brussels were beautifully seasoned and delicious, but the $10 carrot plate made us laugh out loud. They weren't joking when they say it's charred, close to burnt to a crisp. There were literally 4 carrots on the plate with a few drizzles of tasteless sauce (?). Not sure who this target audience is, it was pretty expensive for how little you get and the quality wasn't very high. The sit down experience at the OG was good. I would have said 4 / 4.5 stars. Great ambience and good service. My friends ordered two shareable items they said were really good and since I was staying in the hotel I got it the next day to go. I got the same item, cronut slider, was charged the same amount but only received one cut in half when my friends got multiple in their order.
