It was Wednesday, which is half off bottle of wine day, so we chose to get a bottle of the Dalia Pino Grigio. We chose some shareables. We got the Mediterranean Board. It would normally have baba ghanoush and hummus. I mentioned that I was allergic to eggplant so they left both the baba ghanoush and hummus off the board. Our board came with dolma, roasted tomatoes, marinated olives, pickled turnips, fennel, feta, Schug and sliced pita. Schug is a spicy, fresh Middle Eastern hot sauce from Yemen. It was my first time having it and it was a delicious spread to put on the pita. We also shared the Sticky Ribs. Three pork ribs with five-spice lacquer on a bed of Asian slaw. For our final shareable, we chose the Venetian Flatbread which had pesto, provolone cheese, roasted tomato. We decided to add the spicy coppa on top. Everything was quite tasty. We were watching Breya skillfully make snazzy drinks and my husband decided to get a Mary's Gimlet. We watched as she blended vodka, lime juice, and simple syrup, floating a lime slice on top. My colleague and I stopped by for some afternoon coffee. We both ordered the Mexican Latte and enjoyed our drinks. I was expecting the lattes to be in mugs since the guy at the register asked if it was for here or to go, and we indicated that we would have the drinks there. I came back for pre-show drinks. It wasn't nearly as busy. What was funny though is we ordered the exact same drinks - and the same thing happened: my wine came out as expected but both times the beer was wrong. My boyfriend ordered a pilsner and both times got an IPA. The bartender showed us how it rang up wrong. Of course they all fixed it and gave us what we ordered. Just odd this happened twice. This is the first time I am reviewing while I am at the establishment (that's how unimpressed I am). So inefficient to order from here. We just wanted a cake and had to wait 20 minutes for someone to go in order from a line of coffee orders to grab something behind the glass. I waited over 20 minutes and watched an employee pack our pastries (it took them 30 seconds to get it together). Normally, when you order something from the case, the cashier gets it immediately. But not at Olive and finch - you have to wait for all the coffee orders and drinks to go before. I have never experienced this at any restaurant or bakery. While the carrot cake was good, I do not recommend coming here before your show on a weekend. I wanted to support an AAPI owned business but they need a remodel of how their operation works. It's absolutely ridiculous to have to wait for 20 minutes when the cake could be grabbed right away. They are absolutely not prepared for Denver when there's a musical, an Avs game, and a Rockies game. Severely understaffed. Very disappointed and will not be coming back. If you're here for an event, I highly recommend you stay away. Come on a slow night. They can't handle it when it's busy. There's better places to eat at that can handle a crowd. read more

The muffin I snacked on while I waited for my to-go order was definitely delicious, as was the vegan raspberry and chocolate trifle I finished my meal with. But the Buddha bowl I received was so minuscule as compared to what I saw being served, it was laughable. Granted, I asked for no rice so she added extra greens. The sandwich felt like it was a pretty good value for the price. However, I was unwilling to pay the $3.50 extra for a side of fries. Things are so expensive these days! The fries that I stole from someone else's plate were quite good! We sat outside because there weren't open spaces for a party of 8. You just find a spot and claim it. I like the QR code ordering...everyone ordered their own meal and paid and there wasn't any hassle with splitting the check or anything like that. Overall, I enjoyed trying this place out. My friend and I loved this place so much we went for breakfast and lunch! Beyond friendly service and great concept. Their turkey sandwich and French fries were heaven. Perfect ciabatta bread and I'm still thinking about their fries!!! The goddess salad is cucumber forward and no lettuce, so keep that in mind. For breakfast I got the salmon toast, which was more of a potato bread, which made the dish pretty heavy. The flavors were spot on and portions were good. To say this place is incredible would be an understatement. The coffee was only the beginning of a flavorful meal. I highly recommend starting with the Mexican Latte and add extra cinnamon. It was my first time having a shakshouka- and I cannot wait to experience it again. The depth of flavor was phenomenal. Their lemon pancakes were unique- which is really hard to accomplish with a staple breakfast food. Every bite of food was delicious, and the restaurant itself is really well decorated and maintained. Mexican Latte has a great Hinton spice and orange flavor and strongly recommend, its my absolute favorite. Lyon is our favorite brunch option. Benedict caprese was also good. For dinner, we tried salmon curry, chicken, dan dan noodle, luca sandwich, and pork ribs appetizer. EVERYTHING we ordered was very delicious. This was my first visit to those place. It is right across from the office that I visit when in Denver. The place is quiet and has a nice upscale environment. I ordered a latte and a cinnamon roll while I was there. The roll was sizable and was plenty filling enough. The latte was well made. We arrived right when they opened and it took a few min to get the food, but it was good. It was my first time at an Olive and Finch, and the wait staff (who were all very kind) let us know that we could sit at any open table and order via the QR code on the table. It was busy for a Saturday night, but we were able to find a table! We ordered the half chicken, skirt steak, and burger. The burger was our favorite of the three! Fries were well seasoned and fresh. I did order an iced tea which wasn't strong and was never refilled (probably would just stick with the water they have at the counter). They seemed to have an extensive bar, but we did not order any drinks. Service was pretty fast! After eating, we grabbed a few pastries from their bakery area. Although I only stopped in for a drink before a show, I have eaten at another Olive & Finch previously and it was delightful. You can order at the counter or on the QR code at your table. It all runs smoothly and efficiently. There is a sign on the door that designates you can order drinks to take with you to any of the numerous stages in the DCPA, but I have yet to test that theory. So happy Olive & Finch opened at this location. What a great option to have before a show at DCPA. We stopped in for a beverage when we arrived early for a matinee. They have both counter service and QR service at open table seating. There are many seating options at the bar, smaller tables, and larger community tables. Their SPRO Martini is a tasty version of the espresso martini with vodka, Borghetti, espresso, and oat milk. It was busy, so service was friendly but a little slow with QR table service. What a beautiful, quaint spot tucked into Union Station! We thought the pastries looked so good but we initially did a run through and off to sightsee. Later in the evening, we came back and scooped up the wild berry pop tart and apple handheld pie. Both were huge, the girls working at the counter were so cute and accommodating. What a bright and delicious addition to the DCPA neighborhood! Stopped in for breakfast at the new Olive & Finch and everything was lovely. I had the breakfast sandwich--fluffy eggs, perfectly sautéed spinach, and a gluten-free bun that was actually delicious (not dry or crumbly!). The space is sunny and cheerful with plenty of seating. Staff were super friendly, and everything was spotless. They have an impressive menu, whether you're dining in or grabbing something to-go before a show. We also tried the carrot cake and a giant Oreo-style cookie--both were crowd-pleasers at the office! Looking forward to returning (especially with the lemon bars calling my name).
