My girlfriends and I decided to try out The Original while visiting Colorado recently. It is located near the stadium so I would be cautious if you are in a rush and there's a baseball game happening. We went on a Friday for lunch, it wasn't too busy, and our food came pretty quick. I ordered the fried chicken sandwich with onion rings and a side of ranch. Their ranch is house made and tastes incredible. It has more dill than most recipes I have had but it was so refreshing. The chicken was crunchy, the brioche bun was toasted to perfection and the aioli is DELICIOUS. The onion rings were some of the best I have had. They weren't too oily, the batter was cooked to a golden brown and there was so much crunch. Great place, I would definitely go back. read more

I got invited here as part of a Yelp event! Upon arriving the OG staff greeted us with nice rum drinks and lots of apps! The Brussels sprouts were amazing and the matzo ball soup with duck fat was super tasty. Very solid marks. The slider also had an amazing onion and jam on it. Next up was the crepes! These sourdough crepes were tasty and super light and refreshing. I also got to sample the steak potatoes and eggs. An absolute home run and the potatoes were PERFECTLY crisped. Damn, that's hard to do. After this they had a meatball and pasta dish which, sorry to say was my least favorite meal. Just missed the mark. The ribs were super tasty and cooked well! The venue is very old school Americana with a contemporary design but a solid place. Would come back here and take others! read more

Sat and waited for about 30min. before a server came to our table for the initial order. Seems like the staff is too new to know what is going. They definitely need some more training. Other than that, cocktails were delicious, trout and crab dip was great, brussel sprouts were good, burger was good, and BLT with avocado and egg was mediocre. We attempted to order a handful of other items and they were sold out. This place definitely could use some work. Will have to come back to see if they can redeem themselves but from the first experience- definitely not recommendable. read more

This place is nice-looking inside and has a cool vibe but that's about where it ends for me. We made an early Friday reservation, so we could have dinner before the Rockies game and the whole experience was just okay. There seemed to be some confusion/disorganization with the host staff because two employees were sort of whispering back and forth for a few minutes before seating us and that was definitely awkward. We then proceeded to have two different servers greet us and try to take our order? Drinks were just okay. Moscow Mules are pretty straightforward but mine was really unbalanced. We started with the Brussels sprouts and both they and the aioli they were served with were super under seasoned. We split the BLT grilled cheese and it was not near cheesy enough to call itself a grilled cheese, so that was disappointing. The short rib stroganoff was really good though. The meat was super tender, the noodles were delicious and that smear of sour cream took it over the top. I don't know if we'll return here, to be honest because we weren't blown away but it is a convenient spot before a game. read more

The staff is super friendly and always willing to help! They have a ton of great options that vary in price as well, so there's something for everyone! SWEET AND SAVORY CROUGHNUT SLIDERS - A must try for any foodie! The croughnut buns added a great flakey texture. "STROGANOFF" POUTINE - My favorite dish of the night! The stroganoff gravy was delicious, the fires were perfectly crispy and the short rib was so tasty. HERB & PEPPERCORN CRUSTED PRIME RIB* - Melt in your mouth prime rib if you're willing t0 splurge a bit! The potato was great too. This place does not disappoint! The ambiance is nice open and fun to be in. The staff is very nice and accommodating. This trip we were sat in the back by windows looking out towards the square. I decided on the pancake and breakfast potatoes. The pancake is small but just enough and the potatoes are well seasoned and a pretty big portion. My wife chose to get the Cajun fried chicken sandwich. She reported it was well seasoned and pretty filling. I also ordered the house coffee. Our server was great about keeping my cup full which I can appreciate. I highly recommend to try the pancakes for sure. Happy Yelping! read more

I was really excited about trying this place as I had seen it on the Denver Foodie on Instagram but my aunt and I were severely disappointed. We wanted to try a couple different shareable items as we came in for a little bubbly and snacks to catch up since I live out of town. We decided on 3 items, the fries, breakfast dogs, and the signature donut sliders. They were totally out of the donut sliders which was disappointing because it's a signature menu item. The breakfast dogs came out undercooked in the center, which our server Nate was very apologetic and took them back to the kitchen to have them remade for us. He brought out a fresh plate, again the center was bright pink-undercooked. He apologized again and we tried for a 3rd time. It came out BETTER this time. At this point we've only had the fries which were good. And we ordered the bottomless mimosas which were really good and had a couple different options for juice pairing. The decor was beautiful and unique. But there were issues with the music the entire time. Overall just not a vibe. Im leaving 1 star for the delicious mimosas and 1 star just because Nate's service was great. He was so attentive and apologetic. Aside from the alcohol he took care of our bill for us. I'd be interested to come back to try stuff on their regular menu at some point but I wouldn't go out of my way for it. read more

I was a little surprised at the lack COVID regulations. As far as I can tell this restaurant appears to be running like a pre-COVID establishment. To be fair, we went to the restaurant about 3 hours before a Rockies game. Restaurant had great visual aesthetic and nice vibe all around. The "milk bottle" glass carafes for water were neat. Off to a super slow start. After waiting for a table, we sat for at least 10 minutes before seeing the waitress and getting anything to drink. The waitress was friendly and helpful, but seemed a more than a bit overloaded. Food came fairly fast. Poutine was tasty but cold. Burger was good but seemed overpriced for what you got. Fries were average. Ruebens cousin Rachel had amazing flavor and bread, but was pretty far on the the dry side. We also got to try a chicken that they brought out by mistake (they caught their own mistake though). It was pretty blah and a bit greasy. Maybe see if it make it a year then give it a try? read more

I can't say enough good things about The Original! The food was delicious, the ambiance/vibes were amazing, but honestly the thing I have to rave the most about is the service!! Major props to our server, Tyler! Seriously, give them a raise/promotion/etc! We were in for brunch starting off a day celebrating my sister getting engaged and had a whole day planned for her to try on wedding gowns! We told Tyler of our celebration when we arrived and they put SO much effort into making my sister feel special - I am SO grateful! They brought us a round of champagne to cheers with, asked such thoughtful questions about the wedding/dresses she was looking at, and in the end even brought her an ice cream sundae with a sparkler in it!!! She felt so special, and it really got our day off to an AMAZING start!! Tyler, thank you for taking the time and effort to give us such a wonderful start to the day. I'm here in Denver Colorado for a cousin weekend and brunch today was at The Original in downtown Colorado on Wazee Street. We had an amazing time eating, drinking and laughing. Our server was Tyler and he was simply amazing! He laughed with us and at us. He was very professional and attentive! Elijah dropped by our table to greet us, we all enjoyed our meals, drinks (I loved the mimosa glasses) and the camaraderie was awesome! It was very busy but the service was excellent and it wasn't really loud. A very good brunch spot. Food was fresh and hot! Drinks were AMAZING. Very beautifully decorated for the holidays! You will have to find on the street parking or park in the parking garage. We parked in the parking garage and it was only $10 for six hours!! Not bad at all! Outside the restaurant is an Ice Skating Rink and connected to the restaurant is a hotel. The only thing I did not like about this Restaurant is the location of the restroom. The restroom is located outside the restaurant it's apart of the hotel lobby. I was not feeling it at all. You have to go all the way out of the restaurant just to use the restroom. Other than that I would definitely come again when visiting Denver. read more

Absolutely fantastic in every way possible! In town for a quick concert and needed a bite to eat, came across this place in the midst of everything else being closed. 100% worth the stop by. Everyone's friendly, the food was fantabulous, and the whole place is just amazingly decorated. Looked for pictures of the place and found some good looking food. Having been disappointed by many other breakfast places and the lies of photos they sometimes put, I had pretty low expectations. But it was fantastic! 100% will be back when in Denver! read more

Came here for brunch because it's one of the many that would take reservations especially with a big group for a birthday. We had the worst service, idk if our waiter just never had any experience but it was the worst. We rarely saw her. It took us 20 minutes to get our drinks- told us the bartender was backed up. But 45 mins to get a bottle of champagne was insane. Told a manager and he gave us a second bottle for free, but waiter was shocked when we told them that. The bloody Maria and bloody Mary's we got barely had an alcohol. And it was very oily- maybe it was they hot sauce but it caught me off guard. The appetizer we order was like deep fried doughnut balls. This came out so fast, it felt like the just have it ready. It didn't taste freshly made and was cold. For our main it was nothing special. The fries was over done though. The atmosphere was suppose to be the original place, old school wa high was cool. But besides that I probably won't come back. read more
