Okay first off, wow a donut for $2!! This bakery is no frills and sells you basic but good treats. I love glazed donuts, especially frosted ones. I ordered an original glazed donuts with chocolate frosting. For the price it was wonderful, tasty and fresh. Honestly 5 stars and I'd go back for another! I also ordered butter cookie Christmas wreaths, a chocolate chip cookie and a dog biscuit. Everything has been good and my dog loved his biscuit. As for service it was good. I got offered a free cinnamon stick which I thought was really kind of them to do. Though it wasn't my favorite, I'm not a fan of chewy dense treats, I still enjoyed the flavor of it. I mentioned it was my first time, and that's why I think they offered me the free treat. My only recommendation is if someone is new, make sure to say you have cookies on the other side. I had already ordered my treats and wish someone said they had even more cookies. I would have bought one of their frosted cookies if the lady wasn't already ringing me up at the register Overall I had a great experience and will be back when I'm in the area.

Big Donut Cakes! Try one of these rather than a standard birthday cake! I ordered online and didn't realize how big they are. One big donut cake and serve as much as a regular sized cake. 6-8 p

This bakery has produced our daughter's favorite birthday cakes two years in a row. She has always been very particular about her birthday cakes. She takes their design very seriously and appreciates the artistry that goes into a well-executed design. The Original Goodie Shop bakery has nailed it both times. 2024 Victorian 7-inch round cake $58.15 White cake with almond-flavored, custom-colored buttercream icing, and a custom design based on inspiration photos. More details: 1. I put in the order on a Tuesday and they produced this beautiful cake by Thursday. Caveat: I got lucky they could make this happen. It's not a turn around time I would expect. 2. Eli meticulously worked with me, the photo inspirations, and my daughter's requested color theme to document the order that resulted in the most beautiful birthday cake my daughter had ever seen. Eli even found a paint palette online to serve as an example for the decorator. The decorator perfectly interpreted my daughter's vision. 3. Eli gave a detailed explanation of the price up front. 4. The cake was moist and the almond-flavored buttercream icing was delicious. 2025 Monet's Water Lillies 7-inch round cake $63.95 Almond-flavored white cake with custom-colored vanilla buttercream icing and a custom design based on an inspiration photo. This design required more expertise and time than the previous year's design. More details: 1. I worked with Emilie through email to submit the inspiration photo and other details ten days in advance. 2. Emilie provided a detailed explanation of the price up front. 3. Usually, our daughter has very specific ideas of what she wants for her birthday cake design, but this year, I wanted to surprise her. I think she was wary to give up control. She visited the MoMA in July and loves Monet's Water Lillies painting, so I thought this would honor both. Because she prefers pastel over brightly colored icing, mainly due to the (typically) bitter taste, I was nervous. She couldn't believe her eyes when we revealed the cake to her. She said it was perfect, and she knew right away what the inspiration was. She said it was so beautiful she didn't want to cut it. Needless to say, we took many photos to preserve the memory of this work of art. 4. The cake was well-flavored and moist. The buttercream icing was perfectly applied, not too thick or thin, and the flavor was unaffected by the brighter coloring. I am grateful for the decorators and crew at TOGS that have made two birthdays extra special for our daughter.

I read that The Original Goodie Shop came in 1st and 2nd in a local donut fest, so that prompted me to drop in on a Saturday morning. To their credit, the donuts were the best of the assorted sweets that I tried. The cream filled vanilla long john was 5 stars. The cake donut was maybe a 4. The lemon bar was a 3.5. The Brownie was a 3. The cookie was a 2. After my trip, I was told that they are known for their cinnamon sticks. I think if you stick with those and the donuts, you'll be in good shape.

We recently discovered this bakery and are in love! We ordered a Dino cake and some cookies for my son's bday party from here, and they did such an amazing job! We will be buying many cakes from here for years to come!

I'm pretty much always here for an Upper Arlington shop that shows up and shows out for Pride events. Also the cookies are delicious and beautiful.

**5 stars for the milk bread**…read more FUN FACT -- Tous Les Jous is owned by a South Korean food conglomerate group (same concept as Paris Baguette) and this is a bakery with Asian and European baked goods. I visited Tous Les Jours for the first time on Memorial Day (May 2026) at the Columbus location. I arrived around 2:30pm on a Monday. Surprisingly, they had lots of options available even with my late arrival because most bakeries run out of items quickly. They sell croissants, cakes, milk breads, macarons, drinks, etc. MY ORDER ($18.95 total for 4 items) -- Twist Donut ($2.95), Sweet Frank Roll ($4.50), Almond Croissant ($4.75), and a Whole Milk Loaf bread ($6.75). 1. Twist donut ($2.95) - sweet but not overly sweet. It tasted just like a regular twist donut that you'll find at other donut shops. 2. Sweet Frank Roll ($4.50) - good. Perfect savory option for breakfast or lunch. Soft and buttery bread base. I think $3 would have been a better price but the bread roll was good. I ate this in my car before driving back to Cleveland. It held me over until I got home. 3. Almond Croissant ($4.75) - my favourite item - buttery with some almond cream or paste inside. Topped with almonds. I don't like creamy things at all and I didn't realize that this croissant had a cream inside until I opened it but the cream is very light and it is more of a spread than a cream. 4. Whole Milk Loaf Bread ($6.75) - Fresh and soft. Definitely my other favourite item. This was all gone within a day, that's how good it was. Buttery goodness. The best bread. Overall, I enjoyed visiting Tous Les Jours and I hope to visit their Cleveland location soon. I ordered takeout so I didn't sit in but they have some tables and chairs available. I'll definitely be back if I'm close by the area again. Tous Les Jours means everyday in French and I wish I could visit them everyday...haha. **** GOAL of 250 reviews in 2026 - 101/250 total reviews in 2026 - 942 total Yelp reviews - Reviewed on 27 May 2026

Great meals with philosophical friends (2 of 2)…read more Rarely am I in Midwestern capital cities with beltways around them, but I do have a few friends from years ago who do live in this city's suburbs. I once ate at their famed German restaurant with the lunch buffet and the extra cost cream puffs with an Italian-American friend who is sort of an Archie Bunker with an MBA. He provides the entertainment. The last time I ate lunch in C-bus with that good friend was before the pandemic. I believe that the lunch buffet has returned to that German restaurant, but I can wait to do that on some other trip. On this last go round, I met up for lunch with a different friend with whom you can discuss the human condition ad nauseam, which is somewhat of a good thing. It's a good thing because there aren't many people who are capable of doing that and who will engage in that. However, when you wrap up such involved discussions, you might feel a little overwhelmed for a while! I got to choose the restaurant ... from out of town. I didn't like the choices with which I was presented and the only area of town I really know is the Polaris area around Ikea. I looked up listings and recommendations. Chocolate Cafe' had two things under its belt from the get-go. It's a high scoring bistro-cafe that has a noteworthy breakfast and lunch following and it has the word "chocolate" in its name. It's in that area near the Barnes and Noble west of the big state university with its logo featuring a branch that looks like a marijuana leaf. I have since learned it's not a marijuana leaf. We ordered lunch, with one entree being a Cobb salad and the other being one of their club sandwiches, the latter of which was mine. It was very good and, as is often the case with me, I could have eaten a bigger sandwich. I went through it fairly quickly, even though I did have the small and cheap Swedish breakfast at Ikea that morning. With the entrees, we ordered bowls of their popular tomato basil soup, which really hit the spot on that cold day. To drink, we ordered house coffee and a hot chocolate. The house coffee is refillable while the hot chocolate is not, but that's standard protocol just about anywhere. With a name like Chocolate Cafe,' we did not order dessert. My friend left first and I stayed behind to look at the dessert case. I later caved in for a slice of their moist and rich chocolate fudge cake to take with me. Like I said, it was moist and rich ... and also very tasty and filling. The pricing here is standard and appropriate. The service was folksy and very attentive, despite their being full on a weekend approaching the holidays. The interior is bright because of the floor-to-ceiling windows around the perimeter of the restaurant. That really scores points with me. Lastly, upon pulling in, the parking lot was full and I had to park a short walk away, all the while paying attention to parking signs and rules. This implied that Chocolate Cafe' was most likely a good place ... and that was corroborated. I have never driven down I-71 into this city's center once past its beltway. I have doglegged and taken Highway 315 - the Olentangy River Parkway. At its top end, it winds a little and it's slightly scenic. As you start approaching OSU, all these different medical towers with different specialties loom over you ... from both sides of the road! It's similar to the feeling one gets when they drive past the Texas Medical Center south of downtown Houston, as in, "What a maze ... why so many damn medical buildings?" But that doesn't affect their rating. It's just a personal pet peeve. I'm going to go with 4.5 stars for Chocolate Cafe', which obviously rounds up to 5 stars. It makes for an interesting meal and experience and, while I would not repeat it like clockwork because of how rich it can be, I could definitely see repeating it if I lived in its general area. My friend said he would be coming back with family members. That said, you clearly see two seals of approval.

Our coffee was good. There weren't a ton of options for customizing, but the ones they had were great. We didn't get any of the signature chocolates to go (big mistake on our part), but the case was tempting. If you're in the area, skip the chains and head to Chocolate Café.

All of the food items are larger than most so be cautious when ordering. We got a little bit of everything since I wanted to truly sampler. They did offer a few samples. The two best items were the egg and bacon danish and the steak sandwich. The Danish had a nice peppery note and a flaky exterior which made it 10x better. The steak sandwich was jam packed and that bread I should have brought home a loaf. The team was so friendly. I explained that I'm still new to Ohio and have been wanting to try this place since I got here. They were so flattered they threw in a few cookies to try and gave restaurant recommendations. Once you find the door, you'll enter a small retail space with a view of the large kitchen / bakery area. There's extremely limited seating (really just two tables / window seats), but the space is certainly bright, attractive, and inviting. (The restroom for customers is so well kept and clean by the way; kudos to the business for that). There's an array of sandwiches and pastries on display for sale, as well as bread and a coffee drink menu. The prices are extremely high: think $28 for a sandwich, $16 for a pastry. So, with that price, the bar is set very high. I ordered three pastries: Copia Egg & Bacon Danish, Sweet Cheese Danish, and Almond Twice Baked Croissant. The egg and bacon danish was truly excellent -- savory, a little sweet, herbal elements (rosemary etc) that was so unique. The almond croissant was good; I appreciated the almond filling and the size. The sweet cheese danish was a real miss. It was as hard as a rock, and the cream was a very thin layer. It tasted like something you could get at a lesser chain bakery or coffee shop, and definitely not worth the price. I also ordered the salty caramel iced latte, and it was really great. The size is a little small for the price (again!), but the quality is excellent. So, there were major hits, and a big miss. I'd go back to try a few other things, but only if I am really ready to splurge.

After mixing, the matcha latte was a light shade of green and pretty much just tasted like milk which was kind of disappointing. The black sesame latte on the other hand, had a nice strong black sesame flavor. The mango and strawberry smoothies were super refreshing especially since it was hot outside.
