Awesome little bakery tucked away in a stripe center. The lady that waited on us was extremely nice and helpful. She gave us some cinnamon sticks to try which were fabulous. I don't think I've been here before, though I might have been, decades ago. I didn't think Kid K had been here, but turns out she went with Sweetie last year. So, she kinda knew what to expect. She hadn't had the cinnamon sticks. And she loves cinnamon, so I thought for sure that would be a hit. They gave us one to sample. And: meh. She ate most of it but gave about a third to me. Didn't want to get more. I was confused. So, she got a cookie and a donut, I got a filled croissant for breakfast tomorrow. Lots of cookies to choose from, a few donuts and other pastries, some cakes, some other bakery items. In the cold cases some interesting stuff like vegan pot pies, but we weren't headed home on this hot day so I passed. A few drinks, pies, etc. All looked good. Service was great. Prices are great. Okay first off, wow a donut for $2!! This bakery is no frills and sells you basic but good treats. I love glazed donuts, especially frosted ones. I ordered an original glazed donuts with chocolate frosting. For the price it was wonderful, tasty and fresh. Honestly 5 stars and I'd go back for another! I also ordered butter cookie Christmas wreaths, a chocolate chip cookie and a dog biscuit. Everything has been good and my dog loved his biscuit. As for service it was good. I got offered a free cinnamon stick which I thought was really kind of them to do. Though it wasn't my favorite, I'm not a fan of chewy dense treats, I still enjoyed the flavor of it. I mentioned it was my first time, and that's why I think they offered me the free treat. My only recommendation is if someone is new, make sure to say you have cookies on the other side. I had already ordered my treats and wish someone said they had even more cookies. She takes their design very seriously and appreciates the artistry that goes into a well-executed design. The Original Goodie Shop bakery has nailed it both times. 2024 Victorian 7-inch round cake $58.15 White cake with almond-flavored, custom-colored buttercream icing, and a custom design based on inspiration photos. More details: 1. I put in the order on a Tuesday and they produced this beautiful cake by Thursday. Caveat: I got lucky they could make this happen. It's not a turn around time I would expect. 2. Eli meticulously worked with me, the photo inspirations, and my daughter's requested color theme to document the order that resulted in the most beautiful birthday cake my daughter had ever seen. Eli even found a paint palette online to serve as an example for the decorator. The decorator perfectly interpreted my daughter's vision. 3. Eli gave a detailed explanation of the price up front. 4. The cake was moist and the almond-flavored buttercream icing was delicious. 2025 Monet's Water Lillies 7-inch round cake $63.95 Almond-flavored white cake with custom-colored vanilla buttercream icing and a custom design based on an inspiration photo. This design required more expertise and time than the previous year's design. More details: 1. Usually, our daughter has very specific ideas of what she wants for her birthday cake design, but this year, I wanted to surprise her. I think she was wary to give up control. She visited the MoMA in July and loves Monet's Water Lillies painting, so I thought this would honor both. Because she prefers pastel over brightly colored icing, mainly due to the (typically) bitter taste, I was nervous. She couldn't believe her eyes when we revealed the cake to her. She said it was perfect, and she knew right away what the inspiration was. She said it was so beautiful she didn't want to cut it. Needless to say, we took many photos to preserve the memory of this work of art. 4. The cake was well-flavored and moist. The buttercream icing was perfectly applied, not too thick or thin, and the flavor was unaffected by the brighter coloring. I have been a longtime customer. We live close so on nice days I walk my dog over and get treats for both of us. Their iced sugar cookies are so FLAVORFUL and delicious- you can't go wrong with an original smiley cookie! My very favorite item is their round custard filled donut with the chocolate icing and my pup loves the dog bone shaped treats. Other unique items which I have not found at any other bakery are their fruit bars and the "all day cake". Both are in my rotation, and I love bringing the all day cake to get togethers because I always get feedback about how delicious and unique it is. read more

I read that The Original Goodie Shop came in 1st and 2nd in a local donut fest, so that prompted me to drop in on a Saturday morning. To their credit, the donuts were the best of the assorted sweets that I tried. The cream filled vanilla long john was 5 stars. The cake donut was maybe a 4. The lemon bar was a 3.5. The Brownie was a 3. The cookie was a 2. After my trip, I was told that they are known for their cinnamon sticks. I think if you stick with those and the donuts, you'll be in good shape. read more

My family has been going here for literally my whole life (over 60 years). I stopped by today and my sister and I both bought decorated cookies. A cute little shop full of goodies tucked back in a section of the Tremont Center. Let me start by saying I love donuts. I love them so much it is a problem, so I only allow myself to have them a few times per year. I was really excited after hearing about this place. Staff was efficient and friendly. Pretty good selection at 8:30 am on a weekday. The donuts were just ok. Bought half dozen cake donuts and they were pretty dry and a bit stale tasting. I called and ordered a couple days earlier since I wasn't sure how busy they get. I came to pick up my order on a Friday at 10:30. I got paczki, but these were likely just jelly-filled donuts. Not quite the same texture but close! We got 3 of them: lemon, raspberry, and cherry. It was still very good. Nice and light! It's a small place located in a shopping strip. The parking lot is large and has tons of spots. I saw others come to pick up their orders too. One of the staff members seemed to be offering a baked good for free. Unfortunately, I got a different staff member to help me so I didn't get that same offer...not sure why. They did have some really tasty looking cupcakes so I might come back to try those. read more

Would have given 2 stars but I really do love their donuts so I went with 3. This an update to my previous review based on my most recent visit. Called one afternoon to order 3 dozen donuts for the next morning to bring to work. I had looked at the menu online to have a better idea of what to order, but the employee asked a lot of clarifying Qs to ensure she wrote down the order correctly. I was so grateful for her help because I ended up ordering stuff that I had wanted but didn't see on the menu (like sprinkled donuts). I asked her what I'd expect for the price and was quoted $65 since they "have a deal on Wednesdays" which was the day I'd be picking up donuts. I didn't ask what that deal was, but was happy about it since pricing with the deal seemed on par with pricing from other bakeries that sell donuts (Buckeye Donuts and Lil Donut Factory). Come Wednesday morning, my donuts are all ready to go and I'm ready to pay so I ask what the "deal" was that the other employee referred to out of curiosity. This employee looked confused and said he didn't know so he asked the other employee who also didn't know. Then he proceeded to ring up each donut individually which took some time considering I ordered 36 donuts. Why was my check not prepared at the time of ordering esp if I placed the order ahead of time? When he finished, they were charging me $80 instead of the quoted $65 so I had to pause and re-ask about that deal the previous employee mentioned. I told them the lady I spoke with the previous day said it was a deal since I was ordering on a Wednesday...and that seemed to click with one of them at least because she mumbled they can honor the pricing. A 3rd employee overheard this and said my order didn't qualify because I picked out the donuts. Apparently the deal runs Mon-Thurs where you get a discount (said discount was not specified) on a dozen or half dozen donuts if the customer lets them pick the donuts. He also said this isn't a deal that they necessarily advertise. That statement really rubbed me the wrong way because of the sneaky practices in trying to make customers pay more instead of trying to win over their loyalty. They did not honor the pricing I was quoted, which was a BAD MOVE. They lost a loyal customer over $15 and some weird statements making the customer feel awkward...how foolish. My husband was annoyed at the principle of everything and for how long that whole process took on a weekday before work since we didn't anticipate having each individual donut rung up at pick up. With the lack of good customer service, he insists we never go back. My heart is sad because I love their donuts so I'm not saying I'll never go back...but it'll be a long time before I do. It's a damn shame because I'm pregnant and literally all I want right now is donuts and this is the closest donut shop to my house. read more

I went in very early on a Saturday morning to kind of beat the crowd. The pastries that I got in the cookies were good. But the customer service was absolutely terrible. The teenager/man that waited on me was beyond rude and to be honest, I almost left without my order because he was just that rude. I ordered several things, but because I didn't get to finish speaking because he interrupted me he grabbed a bag to put all my items in when I ordered several things that needed a box and then he got rude with me about it like it was my fault that I ordered several things that would've required a box when I tried to explain him in the beginning that I was going to order several things. Even when he was checking me out at the end of it, he was rolling his eyes and was just so completely rude, like he didn't even want to be there. I don't necessarily know if this represents the type of company that you have, but I waited so long to finally get a chance to come to your shop from Virginia, and I could not have been more disappointed in how I was treated. read more

We came a bit late in the day, so most of the popular items were all gone! I recommend coming early, to get what you want and need. Everything we got was pretty good and pretty different than many other bakeries. The little bite sized treats were fairly inexpensive and so, we got to try a few different things. There's plenty of parking in their open lot and other shops surrounding the area to visit. Staff was really nice and accommodating. The shop is a bit small, but cute and comforting. You can tell that everything is made in house and not manufactured. They sell cakes, cookies, pastries, donuts, and various other things. I really enjoyed their message wall because it was uplifting and positive! I wanted to try more items, but the items that we came for were sold out. I look forward to coming back! read more

Yesterday was only my second visit here and I had a gift card to use. I was hoping to snag a cake. I arrived around 9:30. They had 3 in the case, and I chose the carrot cake. I also selected 2 cream horns (so much more elaborate than the packs of 4 found at groceries) and a dozen cinnamon sticks. Everything was so delicious! Perfection. I had never had the cinna sticks before and so glad they had plenty available. My initial visit here was a few years ago and I only purchased some cookies. It was during a sugar shortage they had a small selection of baked goods. This is now my go-to bakery. I discovered it late, but so happy I did. I mentioned it was my first time there and the person behind the counter was going to give me something to try, but then when I bought other things he either decided not to give me the item or forgot to add it with my other items. She knows they are the only donuts I like (love actually hehe) and haven't been able to find them in Columbus ever since I moved here a few years back. I pre ordered a large order of pastry items for a special event that took place yesterday. I am not from Arlington and was shocked by how many customers were coming and going on an ordinary Wednesday afternoon. I selected an assortment that included the Rasberry Bar, Rasberry Tea Cake, Bear Claw, Butterscotch Rolls and Cinnamon Sticks. I was stuck by how nicely they were boxed, so as to not crush or break. Our guests gobbled everything ...the tray that had more than enough for everyone was emptied..and I had numerous questions about where I got the bakery items. Several of the guests commented their plans to make a "road trip" together to come back for more. It's hard to find a bakery like this anymore. Most big box stores only carry the run of the mill cookie, cupcake and donuts. While they also offer those items here, if you want something different...you can find it here and it will be delicious. read more
