We absolutely love the breakfast here. By far the best pancakes in town. We get the chocolate chip/ banana pancakes as well as the bacon pancakes. (The bacon chunks baked inside of it are thick quality bacon!) So freaking delicious. They are also known for their Dutch baby's. We got one this last time to try it and it's a unique mix between a pancake and a crepe and something different. A must try experience. Also the home fry potatoes are yummy. 25 minute wait today for a table for one. Didn't bother me a bit. I always have ordered an apple pancake and regardless of how packed the restaurant is it comes out within 25 minutes. The waitress never informed me of the kitchen being backed up and in training. After 35 minutes I asked when it might be ready. I was the table next to the kitchen. She never came back to tell me anything. After 45 minutes she finally plopped my plate down, across the table, pissy attitude. She was not overwhelmed with other tables, just nasty to me even though I ordered another apple pancake to go. So a $50.00 check could have easily given her a $10.00 tip. I complained to the "manager" and was rudely told that this order could have taken an hour (BS). Ok, could you inform me of this? Also there are new cooks in training, etc." So rude. I stiffed the waitress and strongly suggest your "manager" take Customer Service classes or stress training when she's under staffed or overwhelmed. If it wasn't for my other quite pleasant experiences at OPH I'd never return. Thankfully you have some real pros working there. Not today. It really irks me to go in happy and leave fuming. 6/16/24. The lady Manager at this location needs to be fired for her sarcastic and condescending attitude. And especially for her refusal to own her failures in running the Father's Day shift. Food was unremarkable and it was so clear the staff wanted to close shop on the folks who had been waiting for long periods of time. They should also realize that customers are in earshot when talking about how much in tips they made or when they complain about how long a party at a table has been there. One of Eugene's staple-type of restaurants, even if it is a chain. Yet for some reason, it doesn't really feel like a chain restaurant in the breath of Denny's, IHOP or other. Definitely a Mom & Pop type of feel to this location. First things first- the parking sucks here. Be wary of tow trucks prowling around the area due to an apartment complex being the unfortunate host to OPH patrons parking there. There is an abandoned restaurant building next to OPH, yet don't take any chances. There is another parking lot that has someone watching cars, yet you'll have to ask if you can park there. Now, food-wise. Can't say enough good things about it. The portion sizes are bigger than expected, and for a decent price! I had the omelette that was potato-based that easily covered a good portion of the plate. I couldn't finish it, yet the breakfast alone was filling enough to pass up lunch in Lake Oswego (Portland) later on that day. Customer service was excellent- very attentive, and sincere. On the weekends, this placed is super-packed. Please be patient. They'll get to you, even if you are waiting outside. Altogether, breakfast in Eugene must be eaten here at least once. read more

This place has been a constant for years and not sure why I don't go here more often (other then it gets PACKED at certain times). If something isn't broke, don't fix it so for me it is the Ham and Egg Scramble with Pancakes. All cooked to perfection and with great flavor. As a bonus, the Coffee actually tastes like Coffee! Meh. That's the best way I can describe this place. I've eaten in once before and I remember it being meh. With dining being closed right now, I thought I'd try it again. The reviews and the photos got me. The food was ok. The portions were small for the price. The hollandaise sauce needed some acidity- a squeeze of lemon or something. It was pretty flavorless. The biscuits were dry and tiny. The sausage gravy was pretty decent though. I do like how they package to go orders. Sauce/gravy kept separate so things didn't get soggy. That was really nice and I'm sure a ton of extra work. Also, they were pretty efficient and the staff member up front was working his butt off to be fast and friendly (and he was succeeding). A very popular spot, so be prepared to wait. Staff was courteous, and friendly. Menu options are endless with pancake options. Everything looked delicious. Some items take a bit longer to make due to cook times, Dutch Oven pancakes, and baked omelettes (new to me). Since we were in no rush, we didn't mind. Our breakfast was very yummy! A great spot to grab breakfast. This location was outfitted in some of the best Oregon athletes pictures and posters, was really enjoyable looking at all the pieces on the wall. Breakfast portions are large and it's flavourfull. Staff are super friendly and service is great. Many servers are students or past students, they're awesome. I'm usually not the type of person who likes Pancake, but after trying a piece of their unique apple pancake I was thoroughly impressed. I've never had the pleasure of enjoying such a culinary delight. Although it takes a while to cook it's definitely worth the wait and something everyone should experience. Also I never have the best corn beef hash yet until I ate here at this local breakfast restaurant. I will definitely come back here again when I stop by Eugene. I will likely never visit Eugene, Oregon again in my lifetime. The city is amazing, as is the University--but I was here to attend my brother's graduation, and that was it. Luckily, Eugene does not lack good food options. This is one of the better ones. You may wait a bit to be seated since everyone and their mother (literally during graduation weekend) comes for breakfast. Our group of four waited about twenty minutes, but your mileage may vary. Your college friend/kid/relative will also likely run into many people s/he knows here. Be prepared. Service is efficient and friendly. We ordered pancakes (obviously). They came out hot and in good portions. I also ordered the eggs and bacon combination. Their bacon is amazing and some of the best I've had at a breakfast restaurant. Also, the sourdough flapjacks were phenomenal. Order some to share--you'll thank me later. All of their syrup is maple (at least that's what they said), and you can ask for more flavors that they have in-house. OJ is fresh squeezed, also a plus. Living in D.C., prices were reasonable. I had their apple waffle: a waffle baked with Granny Smiths and sweet cream and applesauce in the side. It is so thin, I could almost read the paper thru it. It had the littlest amount of sugar/cinnamon on the top I have ever seen. The Apple pieces "baked in it", really was nowhere to be found. I went there for branch with my wife on Monday while visiting Eugene and since we are regular customers at the Portland location we decided to try the Eugene location after being seated we waited 10 min till a server showed up when we started to order our regular we wanted the Apple pancakes and vegetarian omelet I was told that the oven is off and can't do apple or peach pancakes and no omelette and no Dutch baby so we decided on pumpkin waffle and pecan waffle they can as thin as a pancake the pumpkin one has nothing but a small ramekin of butter and the waffle did not test like pumpkin at all the pecan one also very thin waffle (if you want to call that a waffle) came with pecan pieces and dusted powder sugar we both ate them in two bites we left hungry for this overpriced thin waffles very bad experience I would review the Portland location with 5 stars but Eugene one no thank you read more

This place never disappoints. There are other chains but I swear this is the best. My favorites are the green chili and cheese omelette, apple waffle (not pictured) and chocolate chip pancakes. Bottom line is, this is the best breakfast and brunch place in Eugene. This city is so saturated with the non chain restaurants and farm to table, grass fed, cage free BS that they forget about how things taste and impeccable service. People were outside waiting to get in as far as the parking lot. We decided to stay and just hope the food was good. We waited less than half an hour. We were seated, the menu and all our questions answered, and were promptly served in a reasonable amount of time. In other words, our food came hella quick. There was literally nothing about this place I didn't like. I had eggs Benedict with a side of blueberry pancakes. It was amazing. I could swim in the hollandaise sauce!!! It was so good and creamy and they don't skimp on it, those eggs are SWIMMING in the creamy unctuous goodness. Husband had the eggs with diced ham and a side of buttermilk pancakes and he loved it. Kid had the chocolate chip pancakes and he pretty much inhaled them. I'm not a pancake person, like at all, but the reviews for the eggs Beni were so good I had to try them.
