This is a family favorite restaurant!! Super fresh food. The pancakes are always yummy and their egg omelettes are to die for! The omelette breakfast is probably big enough to split with maybe an extra side or two but we usually just take leftovers home! Looooong wait at OPH this fine Saturday morning. Pro tip: check in online and you can just waltz in and be seated. You'll enjoy the experience much more and at the same time infuriate the poor suckers (like me) who will have been waiting forever to be seated. Win-win. Flippin' fantastic! Abby was an absolute rockstar--friendly, quick, and made sure we were taken care of from start to finish. The food? Out of this world! Came here for a work meeting and not really a pancake person so I ordered the Greek omelette. It was very good, stuffed full of spinach and feta and good flavor. Don't care for their potatoes on the side - they are shavings of potato and not really crispy and not really potatoey. The chorizo breakfast burrito looked good and I'll try that next time. Came back with my sisters again!! This is becoming one of our favorite places!! They both got the same thing again, but I decided to try the Banana Foster French Toast! So delicious!!! It was sweet without being too sweet. The 1/2 order size was perfect! They make it with sourdough bread, which is my favorite!! Great flavor!! Our server was great!! Needed breakfast before flying back home and I read some mixed reviews for this place so I figured I give it a try. No waiting around 9 am and got seated quick. Friendly staff and nice and clean restaurant. Our waitress Erica S. was very nice and helpful giving us suggestions on what to order. Ordered the original breakfast deal but upgraded the sasauge to smoked pork&elk hatch chili cheddar sasauge. I wanted to try the sourdough pancake so paid little extra for that. Came with 2 eggs, 2 sasauge, hash brown + sourdough pancake. Also ordered Dutch Baby with side order of corn beef and hash, Belgium waffle with bacon and pecan. I guess it must be Utah thing where coffee cups are so tiny... I was very impressed when Erica took our older and she didn't even write anything down, even with all the add on.. My eggs were cooked perfect, hash brown I would have preferred little more thicker slice of potato but it was nice and crispy. The pork&elk sasauge.. It was yummy.. Little kick from the hatch and nice flavor. Sourdough pancake was not bad.. I expected little more sour flavor but not what I expected, but still not bad. The Dutch baby... Dang... That dish was sooo yummy. Like if crepe took a bath in French toast mixture and stayed moist. I think that was one of my favorite dish. Belgium waffle was not bad, could have had little more crisp on the outside and less doughy inside. But still not bad of Belgium waffle. Side dish of corn beef and hash.. Well it ain't no side dish. It was like full meal . Corn beef and hash tasted pretty good. Not the best and not the worst.. But definitely worh getting it you are hungry and you want to share. If you ever want to feel like a genius on a Saturday morning, fire up the Yelp app, sign in, and use the Waitlist feature at this (or any) Original Pancake House location. Not sure if they all use it, but they sure do at this location and it's the best. Just tap, get on the waitlist, and then get reminders and a real time view of your place in line. Lounge, make your way slowly to the restaurant, and walk in when the whole lobby is waiting only to be seating within a few minutes. Oh that every restaurant used this feature. I've done it on a few occasions, the most recent just a month ago or so. It was a sunny but cold Saturday and we were off to brunch. I executed the aforementioned waitlist maneuver like a pro and did indeed, as it turns out, feel like a dang genius. We were seated and I immediately spied a large pile of food at the next table. After inquiring I was told it was called the Roadhouse, which is just fun to say, so I ordered it. Pile of food it was, and it was the hearty start I needed to my day. This is a fun stop if you don't wait in line. They have loads of pancake options (obvs) but just an all around diner-y feel for those mornings when you want to go out for breakfast. read more

I used to love coming to this restaurant because the food quality was so great. But today I was surprised by an overcooked omelette with no cheese. It was dry and rubbery with no moisture whatsoever. You couldn't see or taste any cheese even though it supposedly had both cheddar and pepper jack cheese. I couldn't eat it. When I showed the "new" manager and even opened it up so he could see there was only meat and egg inside, he basically tried to gaslight me claiming it was up to standards. I just paid $13 for a side of hash browns, since that was all I could eat! He didn't offer to recook it to make it palatable, and assured me that I would not be given any discount, and was welcome to not come back! Before this manager, everything here was delicious. Now, the care for customer satisfaction is completely gone. Whoever hired this guy is an idiot because managers like this eventually destroy your business. My recommendation is to go to another location where they actually care about paying customers, and where the standards are actually upheld! read more

Jalisco skillet...Pepper should have a crisp taste to them, but they are not since they are drenched in oil. As you can see on the second plate, all the oil that left from the eggs. Treated myself to a little Sunday morning breakfast at O.P.H! Always a great, farmhouse/cozy vibe there. I got the eggs with hash browns and a side of buttermilk pancakes. Very good, classic breakfast. My boyfriend got the eggs, sausage and a side of sourdough pancakes. The sourdough pancakes were the highlight of the meal! My boyfriend and I figured it would be busy for valentines, let alone a Saturday morning... and we were right! So we called but were informed that call ahead seating reservations are not accepted to use yelp to add out name.... So we did, only to get a text saying we were next. My husband and I went in for breakfast and the food was good. I ordered the Two By Four, my daughter got the crepes, and husband got The Roadhouse with loaded hash browns. The pancakes have an odd taste which I can't describe not necessarily bad but different. My husband thinks it's the buttermilk but I love buttermilk. Any who the food was great all around the only complaint would be that they didn't listen when my husband asked that they go easy on the onions and peppers. At a previous visit there was too much onions and peppers so he asked for light his time. If anything it seems like they got confused and gave him extra. Other than that service was great and drinks were refilled continuously without us having to ask. Going to give something new a try next time. read more

Hair in my pancakes. Two. The first one i forgave as potentially mine. But two was too much. Not my hair texture. Told the manager and he wanted to go on a hair hunt of whose it was. "We don't have anyone with hair like that near the food". Spoiler alert, it looked like his hair . I expected at least an "I'm sorry". Maybe a discount since I did eat 1/3 of the meal. They have a yelp check in to get in the waiting list for a table. Very nice and easy to get on the list. The wait was under 5 minutes. We got a table and Erika was our server very nice took our drink order give us enough time to look over the menu once our order was taking our came out super fast and it look good fresh and hot. I had the roadhouse and it was so good my daughter got the Belgian waffle and she loved it and she is very picky when it comes to waffles. Always a favorite. Thanks to the convenience of putting in our reservation on Yelp, we saved ourselves roughly 40 minutes of wait time. I really appreciate being able to reserve a table at OPH from the comfort of our own home. :) There were five of us, and we started the meal off with coffee, hot cocoas topped with their signature whipped cream, and a carafe of their fresh orange juice. They do a really nice job with breakfast, whether you want a standard American breakfast, an omelette, crepes, a Dutch Baby, breakfast sandwich, burrito, biscuits and gravy, etc. It's fantastic. Everything we've ever ordered through the years has consistently been delicious. I don't even like pancakes, but I find myself craving OPH's fresh fruit buttermilk pancakes, with their made in-house strawberry syrup. Holy smokes. 10/10. We will be back, just like we have been for pretty much the last 18 years. :) read more

Service was less than desirable. Made our reservation, arrived on time and still waited for over 45 minutes after they said our table was ready. The front hostess had mouthed customers as they left. One turned her back to the door while the other on gossiping her ear. Awful service! We drove 45 minutes to eat here and never were sat. This was my second time here, and it's been a number of years (6-7?) since my first visit. As a newly pregnant woman who feels like her opportunities to go to breakfast alone are coming to an end, I decided to take myself to breakfast. Alone. The wait was much longer than quoted. My philosophy is to under promise and over-deliver, so I appreciate when restaurants do the same. Not the case here on a busy weekend morning, unfortunately. I was seated in a corner at the back. My server was super kind, and my food came out really quickly. I got eggs, bacon, and buttermilk pancakes with coconut syrup. Everything was just OK. My husband probably could've made me a better breakfast, with a shorter wait. I might give this place another try in the future if I put myself on the waitlist ahead of time, and if I felt like getting more adventurous with the type of pancakes I order. Otherwise I just can't confidently recommend it, and don't really get why it's always so busy. There are other breakfast spots I'd choose. read more
