    Greek Omelette

Came here for a work meeting and not really a pancake person so I ordered the Greek omelette. It was very good, stuffed full of spinach and feta and good flavor. Don't care for their potatoes on the side - they are shavings of potato and not really crispy and not really potatoey. The chorizo breakfast burrito looked good and I'll try that next time. The coffee is good and refills are plentiful.

Came back with my sisters again!! This is becoming one of our favorite places!! They both got the same thing again, but I decided to try the Banana Foster French Toast! So delicious!!! It was sweet without being too sweet. The 1/2 order size was perfect! They make it with sourdough bread, which is my favorite!! Great flavor!! Our server was great!! Took great care of us, plus he was funny! He made the vibe even better!! I know we'll definitely be back!!

Needed breakfast before flying back home and I read some mixed reviews for this place so I figured I give it a try. No waiting around 9 am and got seated quick. Friendly staff and nice and clean restaurant. Our waitress Erica S. was very nice and helpful giving us suggestions on what to order. Ordered the original breakfast deal but upgraded the sasauge to smoked pork&elk hatch chili cheddar sasauge. I wanted to try the sourdough pancake so paid little extra for that. Came with 2 eggs, 2 sasauge, hash brown + sourdough pancake. Also ordered Dutch Baby with side order of corn beef and hash, Belgium waffle with bacon and pecan. I guess it must be Utah thing where coffee cups are so tiny... I was very impressed when Erica took our older and she didn't even write anything down, even with all the add on.. My eggs were cooked perfect, hash brown I would have preferred little more thicker slice of potato but it was nice and crispy. The pork&elk sasauge.. It was yummy.. Little kick from the hatch and nice flavor. Sourdough pancake was not bad.. I expected little more sour flavor but not what I expected, but still not bad. The Dutch baby... Dang... That dish was sooo yummy. Like if crepe took a bath in French toast mixture and stayed moist. I think that was one of my favorite dish. Belgium waffle was not bad, could have had little more crisp on the outside and less doughy inside. But still not bad of Belgium waffle. Side dish of corn beef and hash.. Well it ain't no side dish. It was like full meal . Corn beef and hash tasted pretty good. Not the best and not the worst.. But definitely worh getting it you are hungry and you want to share. Over all service was great and food was great, little pricey after all the add on and extras. But I definitely would come back and try some other dishes if I'm back on this side of the State.

Plate is the Jalisco skillet....Peppers should have a crunch taste to them but no, since they are soaked in too much oil.

Jalisco skillet...Pepper should have a crisp taste to them, but they are not since they are drenched in oil. As you can see on the second plate, all the oil that left from the eggs. Waitresses always sweet, just seems like the kitchen staff has changed these past months since the food doesn't taste the same.

Treated myself to a little Sunday morning breakfast at O.P.H! Always a great, farmhouse/cozy vibe there. I got the eggs with hash browns and a side of buttermilk pancakes. Very good, classic breakfast. My boyfriend got the eggs, sausage and a side of sourdough pancakes. The sourdough pancakes were the highlight of the meal! The flavor and texture were amazing, so fluffy! Plus, they're gut healthy! I loved them and will be back just for those! Thank goodness my boyfriend shared lol. Classic breakfast spot!

I understood their locations only exist closer to the east half of the country, and was quite sad to know it'll likely be a very long time before I'll ever get the experience. Well that *was* until my good friend recommended the local diner Belgian Waffle & Omelet Inn which actually achieves everything I could ever want from a Waffle House! The food is actually amazing, and clearly made with love! I got their garlic burger which was just incredible, served with a generous portion of delicious fries! and my friend got huge stack of pancakes topped with ice cream and fresh fruit that I tried a little of and also adored! We also both had their raspberry lemonade, and I got an extra side of sausages. It was all so amazing. and even tho I saw the pricing on the menu, I was honestly expecting to spend about double what I actually paid (I seem to have generous rounded up too much in my head). I was frankly shocked the final bill was only $26! I felt like I was robbing them! I made sure to leave a large tip. The place was very clean and has a nice cozy atmosphere, and the staff were all so kind! I even received a compliment from one of the staff who's a Studio Ghibli fan and loved my soot sprite pin. I could go on and on about how this is easily one of my new favorite restaurants I'll be going to any time I get the munchies and want some comfort food, or whenever I'm really hungover and just need a quiet, gentle atmosphere where I can feel like a character in Twin Peaks. (My enthusiasm for this place is on par with Agent Dale Cooper.) I seriously can't recommend all of this enough. I'm shocked it exists, and frankly feel a sense of guile in knowing it's too good for Salt Lake City. I'm not religious, but I've now found heaven.

So I think in talking to most of my friends I got a good view on the food, and presentation. I had a starter of Totchos, and the Beef Dipper for my entrée. Both were excellent, I shared my Totchos. These are tater tot nachos, they were excellent, normally I don't like cheese sauce on Nachos, but given the consistency and flavor of this sauce (house made, I'm guessing. Not canned) They were excellent. The Beef Dipper and Au Jus, also top notch! Generally in a French dip, there is a lot of fatty pieces, this was not that. Also at my table was the Chile Verde bowl, this one has a kick... but my friend having it really enjoyed it. The fish and chips was great, smelled fresh. Lets talk about the sides. Choice of Fries (appeared to be battered fries, always a favorite of mine.) Tots, or house made potato chips. I had the Potato Chips with mine, these were excellent, crisp and tender on the inside. The Athena (Lamb Burger) got rave reviews from one at the table The Service: Because we were in a large group they advised us they were going to be taking our orders as we came in so not to overwhelm the kitchen staff. Excellent communication throughout service given that we were a large group. I talked to one of the Owners, Laurie, I could tell she had a huge sense of pride in the place. Very friendly! The Restaurant: Great atmosphere, Fun artwork, best of all, VERY Clean, nothing sticky or no grease buildup on any surface. The glass ware on the wall behind the bar as all polished. In the bar area they stack their silver, tableware, condiments etc. in a cute little cozy box on the table, with the main dining area setup as a diner with the traditional paper napkin and silverware. For a diner motif to have shined silver and glassware is a nice touch! Summary: Eat here! The prices are reasonable, the food is excellent, when I looked at the menu online I was a little put off by no actual entrée's on the dinner menu, however the in house experience made up for that, it's a pub food vibe and they are doing it well!

"Don't worry honey, it's okay to look, and also throw money at the half-naked women! I promise you won't get in trouble!" Uh-huh. ;) Alright, I digress. Awkwardness aside, Prohibition is a really great place to enjoy a classy dinner, where the meat is served on a place AND on stage, and the cheesecake comes with the price of admission! Speaking of admission, as my wife and I were guests, being shepherded along by our friend, I cannot recall exactly what the "cover charge" was (not much, if I remember correctly...less than $20 for two?), and if reservations are *required*, I cannot say for certain, but I would say they are *recommended* at the very least, because our showtime was packed. Anyway, once paid, you are escorted through a secret bookcase door (SLC residents sure do love their speakeasies, don't they?), and into the dining hall and saloon, where you're soon to have your socks knocked off...well, someone's clothes are coming off, anyway! We were given a table that I dismissively thought was tucked away pretty far in the back and out of the way, but it ended up being one of the best seats in the house, as the table where the performers gathered, prepped, and returned to was just adjacent to us, so we were about as up close and personal as you can get, without getting yourselves arrested. Each of the dancers brought their own style, flair, and wardrobe to their performances, which were spirited and energetic, and a touch racy, without devolving into outright debauchery. It may be an (18+? 21+?) venue, but alcohol restrictions aside, I wouldn't hesitate to take older, more mature teens to a show with similar content. We ordered a smattering of smaller dishes, as we weren't particularly hungry, but the Mishima Wagyu tacos were fantastic (as you would expect), as was the Fedora Fin (Za'atar-crusted ahi tuna), and all of our cocktails. As the show is timed event with multiple performances per night, both food and bev are fired out of the kitchen/bar faster than the bullets from a Tommy Gun, but with far better accuracy. The whole operation here was honestly very impressive, from start to finish. Coming from a progressive city like Portland, it's always struck me a little odd that places that, by reputation, strike you as more conservative end up having some of the best, most wild entertainment venues, that you only wish you had back home. Prohibition is one of these places that I would rather see in my downtown, instead of the litany of seedy strip joints pushing for maximum titilation, but with only a fraction of the class and sophistication. Prohibition is good, clean fun, masquerading as something illicit, which is the heart of what makes it work so well.
