    Grilled Cheese + Fries

The interior gives old school diner/truck stop diner vibes. While busy when we walked in we were seated almost right away. I am a huge breakfast fan and have to say I was a little disappointed. This seems like a type of place that has a few great things in the menu but not everything is great on the menu. Willing to give it another try. The pancakes were a bit grainy and the fries underdone. However the biscuits and gravy were cooked perfect and the grilled cheese has a nice cheese pull. I've seen in other reviews folks mention the staff was great but our waitress was speedy and friendly. She was always checking in and bringing us refills.

Home town type of feel diner? This is your place. I can confidently say I've never been in a place that served that many refills on coffee. The food was very good for breakfast and the portions were a solid size. The service is fast here as well so you don't need to worry about sitting long before they help you. The inside of this place has license plates hung up everywhere, which I thought was a great theme. A very good spot to try if you're in the area! Cheers!

I was really excited to check this place out because I had heard so many good things about it! It's such a nostalgic, classic diner, and when you enter it feels so safe and familiar and comforting. Old school feel and vibe, reminded me of visiting my grandparents and going to their small town diner in upstate New York. It's tucked away behind the main center of "downtown" Holladay in a little strip mall type area with it's own parking lot. It was bustling when we went! Super busy, not a terribly long wait for two people, because they were bussing and turning tables very quickly. There aren't a ton of veggie options here, and I got their skillet special minus the beef. It was pretty bland, not a ton of flavor - scrambled eggs over some cheese covered potatoes and a few veggies. I can't remember what my partner got, but he really enjoyed his meal. I want to come back here to check out their lunch menu! A couple reviews mentioned that the service here wasn't great - I loved our server, it's just more of a hustling, turning tables kind of place. There's a lot of people waiting to get seated, and it's an in and out breakfast kind of place. If you're looking for something else, this spot probably won't be for you. I loved it, loved the vibe, our server was great, we ordered quickly, got our food quickly, and got out of there quickly. I'll absolutely be back - definitely to check out their lunch menu. For some reason I just know in my heart that this place serves a mean grilled cheese and fries.

    Scone

My kid and I had a scone and drinks while ordering meals to go for the whole family. Chicken fried steak, all the breakfast, Philly and scone were really good. The hash browns felt like they were made with love. The fries were seasoned so nicely. The scone was straight from heaven. The bread on the Philly was amazing. Our server was happy to get us drinks and the scone while getting the to go order. She made sure everything was packed to not spill and gravy and au jus packed separately. She was kind and attentive. The cafe had classic vibes and was clean.

Your typical diner breakfast! The staff was kind and made sure to include honey, jam, and ketchup for my to-go order which was prepared quickly. The skillet special was okay, the French toast and the sweet potato home fries were the highlights of the meal. You get quite a bit of food for the price you're paying!

Lunch was just okay today; I'll be back, but won't order the grilled cheese again. The cheese wasn't even melted and the bread was barely toasted. I asked for fries (they cost extra), but just received chips. The scone my dining companion ordered was spectacular! Not too thick, a little crispy, hot, and delicious with butter and honey. Honey butter would be even better! Oatmeal was good, but didn't come with bananas as ordered. Our server was super friendly and service was fast!

The cafe was more like a diner with the checkerboard pattern on the walls but they had some really cool looking sights on the walls. Our waiter was very nice and friendly. I got a scone omelette and hot chocolate and when I ordered the hot chocolate and the chocolate came like 20 seconds later and tasted amazing the scone was creamy and delicious but it didn't come with any honey butter so I made my own. Also the scone was huge!

One of the cutest breakfast places I've been in the valley! Locally owned, very kind staff, and soulful food. Not much is better than Sharon's on a cool morning outside on the patio.

Food was great, prices were reasonable, service was awesome. The special pumpkin pancakes were super tasty.

Well, I must have loved it since I went twice!! First day tried the BLT as well as a chocolate croissant which is to seriously die for, it is a must. Kiaya (lord I hope that is right) was my server and she was excellent. I had a Pellegrino Blood Orange soda along with my lunch and loved the salad dressing as well! The sandwich was with 1/2 salad and 1/2 potatoes, yum yum. The second time, I had Connor (he will remember Sheldon) who served me. He was awesome. I tried out a blueberry mimosa, an iced mocha and a water (I had been walking a lot and was tired and thirsty, don't judge). Then I just wanted that dang BLT again! I also ordered another almond chocolate croissant (I know, I know, should have tried something else). Well I did get a cookie too! My lunch was taking a little long, so they also brought out a couple of pastry items to try as well, so yum yum! The Chocolate Macaroon was also so wonderful and I cannot say enough about this quaint spot. It did fill up during lunch on the Thursday, so get there early or late! PROS: Main street, easy access from transportation/offices Great selection of homemade pastries Nice choices for drinks (obviously, I tried a few) Super quaint bistro style inside Outside seating under shade and a tree Attentive and exceptional employees (CONNOR) CONS: Parking may be an issue, although some on-street parking available DON'T THINK, JUST GO! Lots of choices.

Thankfully, no reservation was needed but it was still really busy. We were able to get seating next to the window; however I do wish the spacing between tables were a little bit bigger, as it feels like everyone's in each other's conversations and forces you to be friends with your neighbors. Not ideal when you're on a date night or trying to be intimate with someone. For drinks, we were interested in trying something before ordering a bottle or a glass. I didn't realize that for a wine sampling like that, it was $3 bucks... We got just a glass, and I went for a custom cocktail. ON the bill, they call it a "bar roulette," and that ran me $20 bucks... yesh, but ok!!! Dinner choices for us were the Clam Chowder & Wagyu Steak. The claim chowder presentation was definitely unexpected as it didn't resemble a Soup as expected. The changing of menus so I was good and I was good to see a couple things still there, but also familiar with some of the new stuff that I saw being delivered did leave me scratching my head.

Our server was incredibly knowledgeable and exactly the right amount of present (if you know what I mean). I enjoyed the maitake on rice with cashew cream and it was delicious. The salty mushrooms were mellowed by the chewy rice. The cashew cream gave a nice variation in texture. I didn't leave a morsel behind. The harissa carrots were nice as well. They are cooked soft and have a moderate spice level that is again contrasted by the mild labneh and tahini base. I had to save the rolls with herb better for last. Oh. My. God. These were divine. I'm a sucker for bread of any kind but these are what the Hawaiian dinner rolls wish they could be. They are perfectly pillowy and the herb butter just elevates them. Do not miss these for more "sophisticated" fare. If I lived here, I would definitely come back. Everything was considered and well-executed. Bravo

Like many people, we were excited to dine at a restaurant led by a chef who has beaten Bobby Flay. We arrived for our 8:15 p.m. reservation and were seated promptly. Unfortunately, from that point on, the service became increasingly confusing. Our server seemed flustered from the beginning and even commented that she wanted to make sure everything was right for our experience. When ordering drinks, I asked for a root beer and was told they had one. A few minutes later I was informed they actually didn't and was given a Dr Pepper instead. No big deal--I didn't want to make an issue of it. The bigger problems started with the food service. There were three of us. Two ordered the filet, and one ordered the chicken. The first entrées brought to our table weren't ours at all and had to be taken away. When our actual meals arrived, they were still mixed up. I was served the chicken despite ordering the filet. The same thing happened with dessert. We ordered two Baked Alaskas and one Lemon Cake. Again, the desserts were delivered to the wrong people. These weren't major issues individually, but when they happen repeatedly throughout one meal, it takes away from what should have been an outstanding dining experience. Now for the positive... The kitchen absolutely delivered. The filet was cooked perfectly. The chicken was outstanding. Presentation was beautiful. The Baked Alaska was one of the best I've had. The food easily earns five stars. Unfortunately, the front-of-house experience did not. To make matters worse, after I finished the Dr Pepper that I hadn't originally ordered, my glass sat empty for roughly 45 minutes. No refill was offered, and I eventually had to ask for another beverage while dessert was being served. One final observation... The receipt included an optional surcharge for the back-of-house staff. I understand it could be removed upon request, but I don't believe guests should be placed in the position of deciding how restaurant employees are compensated. Pay your team well, price the menu accordingly, and let guests simply enjoy their meal. Urban Hill has one of the most talented kitchens I've experienced in quite some time. If the service can reach the same level as the food, this restaurant would easily deserve five stars.

I saw a comment about the restaurant being dark, but the lighting seems great. Anything much brighter would probably upset my eyes, especially early in the morning (as that's when we typically go). Someone also mentioned the wait is long. The restaurant isn't huge, and if you go at a time when everyone else is also going, usually any time after 9, then of course it'll be busy.
