Coming here always feels like when your mom or dad (or aunt) would pull you out of school and say you were sick, just to then have an unmatched day of fun. Tiny place in La Grange. We got lucky and found parking right outside. Otherwise, it could be a good walk if you don't find anything close. Their cherry filled fresh toast is good. The sausage patties are so so. Our server wasn't real friendly, very closed off. A couple things to note for improvement, add a mirror in the bathroom and make sure Clover works. When you get your bill, there's a QR code to pay via Clover, but I couldn't get it to walk. It kept saying page not found. read more

Great Location for a breakfast cafe, directly across the LaGrange Metra Station. Originally I was looking for a different breakfast place but made a wrong turn and spotted the this breakfast cafe which I am glad I stumbled here. The menu is vast and ended up getting my favorite biscuit and gravy. There is a black board in the back showing you the soup selection of the day which is nice. The Food was very good and fresh. I stopped at this restaurant for breakfast on Tuesday, August 19, 2025. This is a diner that I have visited many times with the current owner and the prior owner. I had notice the service and the quality declining this year. The owner is updating the interior with fresh paint, new (smaller) coffee mugs and what seems to be really lightweight flatware. I entered and was told to take a seat anywhere. Shortly, a waitress appeared -- and never smiled. Maybe she was having a bad morning, don't know, not my problem and not how a waitress should great a diner. I ordered my usual breakfast of coffee, scrambled eggs and gluten free pancakes. The coffee has changed or less is being used I. The brew because it was very weak. The eggs were ok. The gluten free pancakes had an almost burnt top and had a wet inside. Whoever the male cook is, needs to learn how to cook. In a community with many breakfast places, this one is not a recommendation. The food was very disappointing as well as the service. read more

Really enjoyed my first visit. I typically have to try the biscuits and gravy so I went with the Country Benedict and had them substitute the English Muffin for a Biscuit. A good neighborhood brunch staple. Food: I had the Reuben melt that comes with tater tots, coleslaw, and a cup of soup ( soup of the day was lemon chicken rice). The Reuben was a little salty but the slaw balanced it out very well. The tater tots were very crispy and paired well with a thousand island sauce on the side. My friend and I ate there for breakfast on a friday morning in August 2025. I ordered the portobello omelet and my friend ordered the mini-waffles. My friend received her waffles, but they were served without the whipped cream on top. I had to flag down our waitress to ask for the whipped cream, which she did add promptly after that. I was halfway through my omelet before I realized before there were no portobello mushrooms in my omelet. There was a lot of bacon in it, which wasn't in the description in the menu. When I received the receipt, I saw the waitress had ordered the wrong omelet for me. The omelet was rather flavorless, save for the burned bacon in it. I won't return. read more

I'm torn on my review. My goal is the owner sees this and makes this change. I loved the old school vibe. Staff was pretty blah. Waitress did her job perfectly but wasn't very friendly, didn't smile (maybe she having a bad day) My only gripe was my blueberry pancakes. It's my go to breakfast and eat them everywhere. I opted for the fresh blueberries over the compote. So here the 2 things about the pancakes: 1- why would you give rock hard butter from the fridge, how can you spread that? Butter is pasteurized so it doesn't have to be refrigerated at all times. 2: they made me three plain pancakes and then put like a 1/4 cup of cold blueberries on top That's it. When you have fresh blueberries, you're supposed to put them in the batter as they cook so that they heat up and get nice and soft while the pancake cooks. 99.9% of restaurants do that. And it makes a huge difference. This was definitely not a good pancake experience. read more
