While visiting Burr Ridge, we were looking for a place to have to have a late breakfast. A Google search brought up Patti's, and I used the "Reserve a table" feature in hopes of securing a reservation for four of us. After 10 minutes, I got a text saying it could not make my reservation. That's because Patti's doesn't take reservations for parties of four. Something I only found out about by calling the restaurant. So unless you are a large group, walking in is best. Breakfast will cost you between $15-$20 to start, but that's because the portions are huge. My brother-in-law ordered the double blueberry pancakes, and they were the size of the plate! I had the Outstanding Oatmeal which came with pecans, craisins and low-fat yogurt. It was also supposed to come with brown sugar and multigrain toast, but they forgot mine. Which was ok, because the oatmeal was extremely tasty and filling enough without them. Most seating is inside, but there are 3 small tables on the outside patio as well. Gluten free pancakes, waffles and french toast are available. Classic coffee and juices are standard, but they also offer mimosas. Patti's is perfect for those with big appetites. You will definitely leave full, or at least with plenty of leftovers for later! read more

My partner and I were looking for a breakfast spot near and found a good one! It's a cute, homey type spot with lots of space. We ordered the tortilla soup and it was just delicious. I ordered a panini and he ordered an omelette. Both dishes were yummy and large enough to take some home! It was fairly busy in there but we felt well attended to by our server. Visiting from out of town and my family recommended this spot for breakfast. We were seated quickly and comfortably in a corner booth seat for the five of us. The server brought a pitcher of water for the table as we placed an order for our drinks - the standard coffee, tea, and a cafe mocha. My mocha came out in a delightful manner topped with whipped cream, spices, pumpkins, and a waffle stick! It made me smile!! My godmother pointed out there were some pumpkin specials so we definitely made use of that special - she got the waffle and I tried the French toast. The pumpkin French toast was super delicious!! The crispy edges complimented the softer inside part. It was topped with some chopped pecans and butter plus light, crunchy sugar. It wasn't overly sweet and I liked the side cup of syrup to drizzle it. The others were happy were their regular pancakes (HUGE portions! Single pancake was the size of the plate!!), some blueberry some with fruit on the side. Another got an omelette with cubed potatoes to which they also enjoyed. Overall found the meal to be very filling and service was friendly. The tables were clean and it's a good spot to catch up with family and friends. I enjoyed the Halloween decorations too!! Nice atmosphere and excellent service. Greeted immediately by staff. Food was ready when we arrived. Well, the cheese wasn't melted in the eggs and the fruit was definitely outdated. And why is there lettuce in my fruit? The pancakes were okay though, but the turkey sausage was good. Avocado toast was soggy and the Belgian waffle was okay, but the fruit, again, was old. I very often have business in this area, and a stop at Patti's post-meeting is almost de rigueur. This Yelp is going to be short and sweet. I've had just about everything on the menu. NEVER a duff meal. The Coffee is excellent, and the service is, too. My onliest gripe is the cheese in the excellent (and daily) Chicken Tortilla Soup can get gloppy-but that is my personal taste. I don't like Cheese in soup except for French Onion. You can order the ChixTortilla soup WITHOUT cheese, and I do. My faves are the Frittatas. I don't order Patty Melts anywhere but here. The Waffles are unusual shape, but delicious. It's all good. I even order Benedicts here on occasion, which I never do anywhere else. OK, the prices are a bit dear, but one should expect that when considering the Bentleys and other posh iron parked in front of the place. Burr Ridge IS a bona-fide "upscale" community. Luckily, there is no "snoot" factor inside. There are new Owners, and they have kept the place just as it was, save for an interior makeover and more daily specials. Kudos. I've recently learned that ownership of the restaurant has changed hands and ironically, almost to the day of the change, there have been unfavorable results. Service has gotten slow - it may be a result of the new owner cutting staff. Also, during the revious holiday seasons, the restaurant would be decorated to create an atmosphere of festive holiday spirit. This year, there was nothing - not even a holiday tune playing on the sound system. The breakfast food is satisfying, but the real attraction to Patti's is the family atmosphere and feeling of comfort that you feel when enjoying a cup of coffee. Patti's just changed ownership in March 2024. Prices hiked. Service hit and miss. Avoid the first booth, as the outside door loudly slams into the jam every time somebody enters/ exits. Absolutely SHOCKED that this restaurant doesn't have 5 stars. I have been going here (along with the other neighborhood regulars) since it opened, and have watched as the restaurant space expanded but the amazing food remained the same. The seasonal pumpkin pancakes require a pilgrimage, but during the rest of the year my favorites are the little boy blues. Make your own skillet has delicious ingredients, and the chicken apple sausage here is super good. Coffee is perfect, and the Ghirardelli hot chocolate is well known in the area. A waitress was actually talking down to me and being pretty rude while she was super nice to customers on the other tables. I really thought she was a racist because I had nothing against her. First time seeing her. I made the complaint to the manager asking the manager to better train her. I get a call from so called owner. The guy was the worst. Instead of apologizing and the guy asked me to stop coming. So I did. I think the food wasn't too impressive except for coffees. I don't think they use real eggs. But the worst part of the experience is the owner. He is even worse than the crazy waitress. Plus, it is way too expensive when considering the quantity and the quality of their foods. Their potatoes didn't taste good at all. And they don't seem wanting to improve at all. Stay Away from Patti's!!! Visiting from Cincinnati over the weekend and needed a good breakfast before heading to the football game. So glad we found this place! I am gluten free (celiac disease) and vegan/plant based, so finding a safe place to eat is so difficult, especially breakfast! Based on the menu I planned to eat fruit and gluten free toast, but when we arrived they were more than happy to accommodate and I had this amazing plate of roasted potatoes and veggies! Under new ownership and there are some changes. For those if you care they switched from Pepsi to Coke products. I was disappointed with my scrambled eggs today as they came to the table extremely soft. I ask them if they could cook them some more. When they came back to the table they had cooked them until browned and hard and left the undeside the same as they were only cooking one side! It was so late as the rest of the table were near finished eating I gave up....it was one of my favorite breakfast places as their pancakes are very delicious but overall it wasn't a good meal.... read more

We came here as a group for an event and the service was excellent, quick and our water and juice and coffee constantly refilled. The parking was not the easiest as it is in strip-mall corner, but Sunrise was welcoming. I gorged on eggs, ham, biscuits, bacon and omelettes, coffee. The taste was above par and did not come across as run-of-the-mill diner fare flavors. They have an omelette with bleu cheese and bacon. Yes. Yes, it's awesome. Add in some coffee and it'll keep people out of your personal space for at least five hours, but I don't care because it TASTES THAT GOOD. The smell of this place when you first walk in is a mix of classic diner and some sort of spice world. I swear I smelled cinnamon and cardamon as I was waiting for my food. It seems to be a year and a half since I last posted a review of Patti's and, fortunately, this one is 180 degrees different. From the time we entered the restaurant after a short wait on an extremely warm Sunday morning, to the time we left, things couldn't have gone better. I couldn't have been more satisfied with the meal and the service. Honestly. Our server, Delores, is the type of employee that every restaurant owner would love to have two of. Patti's can get very busy but Delores does not let that phase her. While briskly walking from dining to kitchen and back again, she acknowledges her customers assuring us that she hasn't forgotten us. Her smile and general demeanor should pull a smile out of the grumpiest diner. The food, breakfast for us, is always reliable (with just a couple of clinkers through the years). It's easy to make choices because you remember their signature flavors. I enjoy their bacon and sausage skillet (with scrambled eggs) so much that I've never ordered a skillet from another restaurant. I couldn't stand the letdown, and this last skillet was most likely the best I've had from Patti's. Everything was right including the diced potatoes and English muffin. My wife was quite satisfied with her French toast with fruit. Both meals were tasty rewarmed the next day. I need to get back to my favorite (cheese) omelet but Patti's really needs to look at how that is prepped. I've written about it in the past. PLEASE put the cheese on the inside of the folded egg and give us cheese from end to end. More than a suggestion, I'm urging Ms. Patti to swing with us on this one. Love the bacon avocado omelette, the cubed potatoes that come with it are done perfectly as well. He skillet breakfasts are delish also. I have had a few different salads, all were fresh and satisfying. I loooove the tortilla soup it's my favorite soup anywhere ever! She was super friendly and constantly came back to check on us. I loved the tortilla soup, but my friend said there was too much cheese in there for her liking.
