Until more than an hour wait to be sit
    Janetxi D.

On a sunday, i understand the place is busy, i wait on the line for about 50 minutes and i was jus my with my 1.6 YO son. The excuse to get rid of me is that they don't have tables available to put a high chair, but YES! They have space to sit couples (about 6) that were behind me, so I keep waiting and about 20 minutes later i decided to place my order togo because my son got tired and i got tired of the poor service here. You can have amazing food but if you don't work on your people and customer service the place will keep getting bad reviews!

Obviously very busy for Father's Day but once seated service was pretty fast. The food did not taste fresh but maybe because so busy. The pancakes were pretty good but something tasted a bit off with them, maybe the butter and or syrup. Our server was nice and quick to take our order. 2 star based on the experience this time but 3 overall because I know I enjoyed their food before. And they have good GF pancakes I remember from before. If I go back, probably would stick with one of their huge omelettes.

Visited on a busy Saturday morning and service and food were great! Not a sweet girlie but the chocolate chip pancakes are so so good! Don't even need syrup. The bacon is always thick and crispy and delicious. The restaurant was bustling and our server was attentive and helpful. Most booths were full and the kitchen was pushing out meals efficiently. Love a good breakfast spot with reliable service and great food.

My fiancé and I have been here 3 times for breakfast/brunch and they are usually very busy with a line extending out to the front door. On our last visit on July 20th, we went later in the day. I think it was 2pm (just an hour before closing) and the place was pretty empty. We asked if we could sit in a booth over by the window, but the hostess advised us that they were going to start cleaning over there because they had ants in that area. I must admit that I thought about leaving at that point, but running low on time, we decided to stay. I should also mention that several employees occupied a couple of the booths, which I would consider optimal seating. It would have been nice if they were available, as they were outside of the area she had indicated when speaking about the ants. I ordered a combo that usually comes with a stack of pancakes and asked if I could substitute them for French toast. I was told that I could, but there would be an upcharge....and I would only get one slice of French toast opposed to the two pancakes that I would have received. Although it didn't make much sense to me, I was okay with that because I never eat more than one slice anyway; but why charge more AND provide less?! I ordered a flavored French toast (it was cinnamon-almond) and that option was an additional upcharge. All in all, the food is just okay and the service is mid, at best.

we had carry out from here this morning and the food was just okay. it was insanely over priced for what we got and my toast had mold on it.

    They've increased prices substantially.

Unfortunately, like most establishments, the Pancake House has substantially increased prices and cut portions. This used to be my absolute favorite breakfast spot because of the gluten free pancakes. I had a whole container of GF waffles in my fridge, but it was my birthday yesterday, so I asked my husband that we go out for breakfast with our 4yo twins. We typically split the basic breakfast which used to come with 3eggs, 4pc bacon and pancakes. My husband would add a side of potatoes and sausage gravy. My twins would split a kids plate, and eat off of our leftovers, because there was so much food. Now that basic breakfast is 1egg,2pc bacon and pancakes for $11.79. He asked for a small cup of gravy and they charged $5.79 for it, and a side of potatoes was $5.29. Our 4yo twins got a single scrambled egg and a couple tiny silver dollar pancakes. We asked for cheese to be added to the egg and they forgot it but charged $2.79 for cheese for ONE egg... when a side of 2eggs cost $3.79. They forgot the blueberries in my GF pancakes and they came out on a regular plate "because the menu changed." They used to guarantee the GF pancakes were served on a small plate with a black rim on it. This always gave peace of mind that they were actually GF. I get it that prices have increased everywhere but we actually left the Pancake House hungry, and normally we are stuffed, with leftovers. The receipt above doesn't include coffee because we had coffee at home before going and we decided not to get it here yesterday. This place used to be so great that we would actually tip as much as the bill. Yesterday we left disappointed and hungry. Unfortunately we'll probably stay home and beat breakfast next time. Not sure if we'll ever be back

Chocolate Chip Pancake (a group favorite!)

After driving past Original Pancake House on errand runs in downtown Fishers and passing it on a quest to satisfy my late-night cravings at Crumbl, my friends and I finally decided to give it a try. Our group of five was seated promptly at a booth and were served water while we waited to order. I was quite disappointed in the quality of the water, as the glasses were cloudy and not completely cleaned. I set mine aside. (This is my only reason for docking a star). Onto the food: The chocolate chip pancakes were a favorite amongst the group, as three of us ordered them. For six giant pancakes smothered with fresh whipped cream and melted chocolate morsels, the price was very reasonable. It was a little too much to eat in one sitting, and I regret not asking for a takeout box because they were delicious enough that I'd want to enjoy them at home. The semi-sweetness of the homemade chocolate batter perfectly balanced out the sweet chocolate morsels baked inside, and the whipped cream on top rounded out this delectable breakfast. (10/10) My friend enjoyed the fresh strawberries topping her waffle, and she loved the strawberry syrup. It was sweet, but didn't taste "fake" (like strawberry flavoring). It tasted fresh and summery. ( She's giving it a 7/10, her waffle was a bit undercooked). Finally, my friend tried the Dutch Baby Pancake after reading positive reviews on Yelp. Let me tell you, the meal definitely lived up to her expectations. The pancake tasted like apple pie (who doesn't love dessert for breakfast!) and the unique way of baking the pancake in the oven made a crispy, crunchy dome of caramelized apples and buttermilk flavor. My friend, describing the meal as "a decadent treat," rates it 10/10. Now the factor that separates a 5 star from a 4 star is: will I add it to my rotation? Will I frequent the Original Pancake House as much as, say, Lincoln Square? Probably not. However, I really enjoyed my meal and did not regret stopping in today.

    Biscuits and gravy

Came Saturday for breakfast with my husband and we were seated immediately. Our server was very nice and brought us our drinks. My husband ordered a 1/2 biscuits and gravy and scrambled eggs. I ordered 2 eggs over medium and a side of potatoes. The server asked if I wanted ketchup, I said no thanks but I'll take mustard. She comes back saying they have no mustard so I change my potatoes to just a side of wheat toast. We got our food, my toast was cold and my butter wouldn't melt so I added some jelly. My eggs were cold and there's no way I'm eating a cold runny egg. Super disappointed about that and my toast was cold and pretty close to burnt. The waitress asked if I'd like something else but I just couldn't do it. No mustard, cold burnt toast and cold eggs...sounded like I needed to cut my loses. My husbands eggs came out late but the were hot! He said the biscuits and gravy were ok. The best part was they were shaped in hearts.

I've been on a quest to try something different each time I come here, because honestly, I usually find something I like at a restaurant and stick with it. Often times that leads to me missing out on some other very delicious offerings. So even though I really wanted the Taco Salad, I ordered the Fish and Chips because that also sounded good and I've never met a dish I didn't like at Lincoln Square. Well that was, until now. First of all, the presentation. When I saw those rectangular shaped fish rods I immediately thought to myself... no actually, I think I said it out loud, " these are adult fish sticks." I was so disappointed. I was mad at myself because I just recently had some of the best fish and chips of my life at a seafood market in Broad Ripple and I should have known better than to expect anything near that level at a diner-style restaurant. I'd say that 2 of the 4 sticks were actually nicely cooked, with a crisp outside and flaky center, but the rest were overcooked and dry. The fries were overcooked too and the tartar sauce was super sweet. It was actually pretty disgusting. The best thing about my meal was the cottage cheese. I shared that with my husband, but would've eaten it all had I known what was to come. This was also our first time sitting in the area closest to the kitchen. We could hear everything. Employees were sitting in the booth directly behind us and were laughing and talking. No issue there, but one of the young men kept bouncing in his seat, and basically bumping up against my husband's back. I think they were doing cut-work, like rolling silverware or something and I'm not sure why that couldn't be done in the other room, which was completely empty . We also had the pleasure of witnessing a little kitchen drama between a front of house employee and a line cook over what appeared to be a to-go order. Brooke said to remake "it" because something that was included was not listed on the menu, and the cook was not too happy about that. The woman delivering the message was like "hey, don't shoot the messenger." That went on, back and forth for a couple minutes. I eventually loss interest, but for a moment it was like we got a free show with our meal! I think we came too late in the day for anyone to give a you know what. We usually roll in around 10-11am, but yesterday we did not make it there until almost 2pm. I think everyone had clocked out, mentally, and were ready to close up shop for the day.

I come from a land where great breakfast burritos can be found everywhere (you know the place), so my standards are high. And then I tasted the breakfast burrito at Mornings Breakfast & Brunch in Fishers. And now ... well. If someone asked me, now, where my favorite breakfast burrito is located, Mornings might pop into my head. Because the breakfast burrito here is bangin'. It's appropriately mushy in all the right places. (If you know me, then you know that "mushy" is a big compliment when describing a burrito.) It has hash browns that aren't too crispy, diced bacon (or whatever other meat you choose), scrambled eggs, cheese, all wrapped in a thin flour tortilla. The breakfast burrito also comes with a side of sour cream and salsa verde, plus an additional side. I chose fried potatoes. I got my breakfast burrito to go, like you should. Do people eat burritos sitting down in a restaurant? Aren't they made to be eaten in a car, precariously gripped in one hand, with the other had on the steering wheel, maneuvering around roundabouts? Or in a car, dripping sweat into the to-go container as you hover over it to shove the last bits of burrito into your face after a vigorous yoga session? Burritos are meant to be eaten in cars, obviously, so I got my breakfast burrito to go. Burritos, like many things, taste better when they're eaten in a car. When I visited Mornings early in the morning, the music was blasting in the dining room. I don't know if they always have it this loud, or if maybe they were just trying to pump up the staff, or if maybe I'm just old and everything is loud now, but the music was very loud. Like, "raise your voice to talk to the person across the table" loud. I guess just keep that in mind. Or let that be yet another sign that you need to get your food to go and eat it in your car.
