I didn't know there were any Original Pancake Houses in Florida! I used to live in Detroit, and it was my fave breakfast joint. We loved all of the food that we ordered. I had the Irish Omelet, which was DELICIOUS!! I highly recommend that dish, but everything we had was yummy. I also really love their coffee. The only bummer was that they didn't have potato pancakes that day!! That was my fave thing to order back in the day. I'll def come back here next time I'm in town. read more

What a shame that over the years what used to be a great breakfast place has declined into a just can't go there anymore place. All I constantly increased the prices. They have cut down portion sizes and quality of their product. They used to give you six pancakes with your breakfast now they only give you three but they raise the prices. Paying $13 for three medium sized pancakes is just ridiculous. They charged $3.50 for a cup of coffee and it's rarely hot. I guess they leave it sitting out too long all in all I would not recommend this place anymore. It's just a shame You will spend a fortune for breakfast and leave their very unsatisfied. read more

I have been coming to this place (other locations too) for a while. This is a breakfast spot that never disappoints. This time I came because someone told me they finally have chicken and waffles (biggest fan) The food We ordered the sausage pancakes and they literally a sauce wrapped on a pancake. Nothing crazy but the sausage was tasty and you can image if the place is called the original pancake house they must be awesome, we'll they are really good. The other item we ordered was the omelette with out selection of toppings, we ordered ham, mushrooms, tomatoes and mozzarella cheese. The omelettes here are most tardy and the eggs seem of better quality than the ones at ihop. The omelettes are big and can be shared if you order another thing (they come with pancakes or toast). We ordered some pancakes for a child and he requested Nutella and they brought a tiny bit which they charge $1.25 for. Finally I get to what I cae here for. The chicken and waffles. I will be honest and say that I was highly disappointed, you get 2 chicken looking things and they are not tasty at all, they are somehow chicken but are to blah and without any punch; to make it worst they do not carry honey mustard which should be a must if you sell chicken and waffles (in my opinion). The parking situation is pretty easy they are in a small Plaza and have some parking around and in the back of the building. The service was OK can't say good or bad, the server was helpful most of the time and aroundish if needed. Not ok with my servers winking at me when I asked for an extra plate. But the manager Daniel was really good, and no we did not call him for any reason but he stopped by to ask how did everything go and if we had any issues also started talking to us about Nutella and pancakes. I am a fan of managers being involved and go around to ask for comments and take care of any customers final needs. Overall not a bad experience but it was mostly good so 4 stars shiuld be ok. Salmon a little soggy, but ok. Regular egged benedict: not my favorite but good taste Omelette: amazing, it's an extremely large plate perfect for two people. I added mushrooms and it added the perfect touch. Pancakes: lacked softness, but taste was really good Chocolate chip pancakes: really good, the only thing is they are very sweet so if you don't like a lot of sweetness @ breakfast you might want to go with the regular pancakes. Potatoes and hashbrowns were very good usually I never eat potatoes but these had an amazing taste to devour. 49er flapjacks: a must order definitely. Perfect mix between a crepe and pancakes. This place was so friendly and attentive it deserves to start from here. Seriously.... service was excellent! The staff at this place is a class act. We came here with a group of about 40 people and they set the tables so that we could all mingle and gave us a few waiters to take care of the group. The kitchen sent all orders correct and manager was always running back and forth making sure everyone and everything was good. Food here is unpretentious but very flavorful. The walk in gives you just as what you expect our service is down and asked us right away what we would like to drink as it gives us more time to see what we would like to eat! Came for a late breakfast at 12:00. Didn't get seated until 12:14. Didn't get tended to for another 15 min , but it wasn't until we spoke up that anyone came to help us. We love this chain and unfortunately there isn't one close to us in Orlando. So, when we saw this one close to where we were staying, we added it to our list of must-dos for breakfast. We headed in and were nicely greeted right away. We were seated at a booth to the far left side. It was relatively empty, but it was during a weekday, so not too surprising. The menu is a standard breakfast option one, with meals and side orders. Food came out fast and was as ordered. You get big portions for the money, which is a great way to fill up for the morning and get a lot done. Our waitress was amazing. My wife and I came in for breakfast today. Her breakfast came with a large hair in her eggs from the kitchen. Sent it back and asked them to please bring a fresh plate, without hair. I finished my pancakes and then realized there was a hair under my pancakes also. No one came and apologized, and they dropped a check at full price. I'm surprised OPH doesn't have higher ratings. Their food is great! I love their pancakes and I'm a pancake snob. I've been coming here for years, including once last week, and the quality has not changed. My favorite thing to order are their 49er flapjacks. It's hard to describe, but their very similar to crepes in that they're very thin & sweet, but they're much bigger than crepes, literally the size of the plate. So good! I also love just their regular pancakes, they have a unique taste so they don't taste like other pancakes you would get somewhere else. Their omelettes are also unique, they are baked instead of being cooked in a pan. So the eggs in the omelettes are very fluffy. Prices are also very reasonable compared to other "breakfast boujee" spots as I like to call them. The 49er flapjacks for example are $9 including tax and you get three huge flapjacks. Their fresh orange juice is squeezed daily. And I personally have never had an issue with service here. One thing that I adore about OPH is they always have and still serve real whipped butter and real maple syrup with their pancakes. And if you want more, just ask! They don't charge you for extra like other places. That's a pet peeve of mine when a restaurant that serves solely breakfast/brunch doesn't serve real maple syrup. Like cmon if you're going to specialize in breakfast then do breakfast right & serve the real darn thing. The thing is, is I never really go for pancakes. If you go you've got to get an omelet. Now, the only bad thing is they seem to literally take forever. The time on the menu allows for a 20 minute way. Never have I ever received one in 20 minutes. I want to chew my arm off by the time the waiter brings me my meal. THAT BEING SAID, when you get your omelet it will be like World Peace was cured. It's like being kissed for the first time or getting asked out to Prom. It's so good I want to cry. The omelet is oven baked so it's nice and juicy. It's not dried out like something you'd get at a diner. It's like and fluffy and filled with whatever your heart desires. The service has always been par. No complaints in that respect. I've done take out there as well and everything was great. Let's just cut to the chase here: * 35 minutes (we timed them) for a side of 'home-fries' * 65 minutes for our 2 entrees that we were informed would only take 30 minutes * No apology whatsoever from our waitress The food: * Apple Pancake- looks nothing like the picture and definitely is not a pancake, it's more like a very gooey undercooked crepe, you can't eat past about 3 bites- that's not due to it's amazing taste sadly. * Dutch Baby- it does look like the picture, but it tastes like something you'd think infant vomit would be comprised of. The texture is enough to put your stomach in knots- maybe some people like this? I feel like maybe it would be better if it had flavor and was cooked. * Home Fries- dry, flavorless, and come in a tiny portion if you order them as a side, they used 1 potato. Save your $. If you want specialty entrées and want it to be as good as it looks on the menu, don't come here. If you don't have over and hour to wait for food on a very slow afternoon, don't come here. The texture, the color the flavor I just couldn't eat them. I had ordered the salmon Benedict I have this things about raw yolks... I'll only do them if they are really good organic eggs. So when I asked the server she said no these weren't so I ordered mine scrambled. I only ate the English muffin, salmon & hash browns those were good. My friend ordered steak & eggs over easy, the steak was less than the size of my iPhone 5... So this should have been called eggs & steak? Sub fruit cup instead for potatoes was .99 extra. I don't get that if you omit something and have to pay extra for another side it should at least be a large fruit instead of a tiny fruit cup... But I think this is one of those places that charges you extra for everything you change..... I don't want cheese, "That will be .50 cents ma'am" LOL The server was nice, the restaurant was a little dirty. The bathrooms were either old or very dirty. Came here last Thursday 2/27/2020 for breakfast, walked in and it wasn't crowded so tell me why did we have to wait almost 10 minutes before we were seated, no hostess at the front, everybody was in the back running around a couple waitresses did look up our way but still no acknowledgement, at that point I should've known that this was going to be a debacle, but we were finally seated unfortunately I was unable to remember her name but she must've been bogged down with all the tables because she kept apologizing to the table in front of us for forgetting things that they had requested, she came over and asked if we'd like to order 2 glasses of fresh squeezed OJ and we accepted after about 10 minutes she comes back with no OJ and then asks us again for our drink and food order and before I could tell her that we had already decided that she realized that we had and she had just forgotten about us so she ran off to get our juices when she got back we gave her our order we ordered the Bacon and Eggs with hash browns w/ onions and it came with three pancakes food did take a while to come out not sure why because again it was kind of empty, food looked very good eggs were scrambled the very way that I liked bacon was thick and that was also cooked to my perfection, the hash browns were ok I'd asked for onions and they came out with the purple onions instead of the white onions wasn't a big fan of the purple onions but that was no big deal they were still good, (might be onto something) I'd asked our waitress for some extra napkins, syrup for pancakes and ketchup she said ok, so we started eating in hopes that she'd bring the condiments out in a timely manner but she failed at that, I had to get up from eating my meal to go to an empty table to get us some ketchup and go to the front to get extra napkins, didn't see any syrup out so unfortunately had to wait on her to come and our pancakes got cold waiting so when she came by again I asked her for the syrup again before disappeared in the back again, but by that time like I said Pancakes were cold and by this time I was just over this waitress period and I just wanted to pay and leave, I asked her for the check so we could pay and leave because I was mad and just highly disappointed in this service that we received, not sure what is or was happening but my advice would be to figure it out and ASAP. I can remember when this was THE place for breakfast while visiting my parents. Balloon animals for the kids, great, friendly service and delicious food. Only time the food took longer than usual is when you would order their baked omelets. Fast forward 18 months since my last visit and times have changed. Maybe the pandemic has not been kind to them but the facilities are run down. Air conditioning vents leak on tables, bathroom pipes were corroded preventing the auto flush from working. I was okay to overlook this but an hour into our stay and all we had were drinks. Yes, we were a party of 7, but an hour into the stay and 45 minutes after we ordered, to be told there were still two orders ahead of us when the place was half filled was not acceptable, and we had to leave. Hopefully by our next visit, this establishment will rebound as I have fond memories of this place. read more

Decent food and fairly inexpensive. The service was pretty good and this was on a Sunday morning which made it even more surprising. I had the pumpkin and banana pancakes. I like how they give you six of them although they offer a 1/2 portion if you so choose. The food came out in a timely manner and the waitress checked on us several times. I also like how the restaurant is clean and I really didn't see any tables that needed to be bussed. As long as they keep distributing coupons, I will keep trying different menu items. read more
