Have been to OPH in Temecula a few times. My wife enjoys, it has been hit and miss for me. I enjoy Benedict's and spoke to the server about the Crab Benedict. I asked him what others thought of it, whether or not it was popular, etc. Our server, Rigo V., told me that if I didn't like it, he would bring me something else, and would continue to do so until I found something I liked. I ordered the Crab Benedict and it was very tasteless, and I let him know that I'd prefer the standard eggs Benedict. At this point, he said something about food being wasted, and asked me if I "was sure" that I would like the standard eggs Benedict. This was definitely different from the message he had given me 15 minutes earlier. On top of this, the hollandaise sauce was very runny, and he largely ignored my wife and I for the rest of our meal. I am generally a very good tipper (e.g., 30%+ for good service), but I was confused and disappointed by Rigo's mixed messages and then ignoring us. Not sure when / if we will be back. read more

I love everything about this place except the occasional nearby crying baby but I understand mom and dad are addicted to the banana nut pancakes like I am. The food was overall good. But 50$ on two breakfasts with coffee was a bit much. The one star is for the nonsense double charge to refill the coffee. If a breakfast joint is going to charge you for two coffees for a refill you didn't even drink they should at the very least let you know. I forgot to mention: I did tell the waitress we got charged for 4 coffees and she had no intention on fixing this..... so it didn't seem like a mistake. Haven't visited in a few years, and just not at all what we remember. The service, food quality and overall experience is poor. So sad for an establishment with such a great reputation to let itself decline so far. It could be that they are severely understaffed, only seem to staff young adults that are not experienced yet. The coffee mugs are different, now modern mugs, I miss the old ones. They served us cream for coffee in tiny plastic containers with lids, like where is the little jar for the cream. We had to ask for more coffee well after it was empty. The food, meh, it was my parents first time ever going and they said ihop was better. The omelettes had the same texture as the waffles, overcooked, brown and crispy on the outside, under seasoned and dry. They ruined the omelets. I'm so sad that this was our experience. Very disappointed in this business. Not kid friendly. They have high chairs and 1 crayon with the menu. The kids menu is short and no frills. If you get pancakes, that's all you get. No fruit, no smiley face, no silverware that a small person could use. We had 2 different waitresses come to our table with the same thing. They obviously don't talk to each other. I have gone to a lot of OPH and have taken family members to several different locations near their home to get them hooked. My issue with this location: 1. The decor. Really fake brick... come on. There is. I thing hung up there is zero character here. OPH is known to have a feeling of being at grandmas house with old fashion dishes on the wall and a very east coast cottage feel to it. This location could do better. 2. Need to learn how to do eggs. Asked for over medium and first got scrambled ‍, then got over easy. See pics. If you are a breakfast place you do need to know how to cook your eggs. 3. The vanilla creamer is straight frosting. I am sorry but please get some proper creamer and stop putting them in into plastic containers. Maybe ask another location (San Marcos) for what they use. Otherwise food was great and service was excellent. Ordered the Dutch baby, apple pancake, and the pecan waffle. Now would I be back at this location. Maybe not. In Temecula there are a lot of breakfast places that have a better vibe and know how to make eggs properly and their creamers are not frosting. My husband and I received a $25 gift card to the OrigInal Pancake House in Temecula, so for our anniversary we drove 30 minutes there to have breakfast. Normally we would not spend $50 for breakfast but we didn't mind since we had the card. But when we went to pay, we were told the card was not good, so we paid and left a generous tip. When we got home I checked the balance online and sure enough it was good for $25! So this week, we drove out to Temecula again and went to the restaurant and asked for the manager. She was very nice but said she could not help us and although her register showed that the card was good for $25, it was an older gift card and only the owner could activate it! But she encouraged us to return when the owner was there, but unfortunately, she did not know when that would be! You can bet we won't go there again, and it would have benefitted the restaurant for her to simply refund our $25. I realize that small businesses are struggling, but that is all the more reason to give the best service possible. read more

Very unfortunate because I use to love this place but it's fallen apart. Super poor customer service and server did not do a great job. With a party of 9 you would think the server wouldn't forget to check on us but in the total of 2 hours we were there, server checked on us literally only 1 time besides taking our food order. We had to reach out to other workers to ask for things that our server forgot about. Food was not good, although I payed extra for fresh strawberries with my french toast, the server did not bring them out until about 10-15 minutes after I received my french toast. The strawberries were all very cold and not pleasant to eat along with my meal. Overall environment there was not good and I most likely will not be returning. read more

What a disappointment on our last visit. Never before had we ever had a meal here that we did not enjoy and take home part. This time, after a long wait to be seated, I ordered my usual Eggs Benedict. WOW - what a mess. Nothing was good about it. Hubby ordered an omelet and he too was disappointed. I guess the cooks are hard to find these days, but for the prices we have to pay nowadays, it is difficult to want to come back. Maybe if we stick to pancakes, we'd be okay. OMG.....when my friend and I were searching for an early morning breakfast place to go and found this place....with German pancakes?!?!?! And the pictures looked ooooh so good!....so that's where we went....just after they opened at 7am, and when there's no crowd and plenty of parking in this shopping center.....well, at least at 7am anyway. We walked in and were immediately greeted by a friendly young lady, but we could see that the staff were busy rushing to get things organized before the real breakfast crowd started trickling in. We were immediately seated, handed the menus, and asked if we would like OJ or Coffee. Ok, I pretty much knew what I wanted as I'd already looked through the menu online, but that definitely didn't make choosing what to eat any easier as everything sounded so yummy! I wanted to try everything, but to avoid a sugar rush, we decided on the Dutch Baby.....or the smaller version of the German Pancake.....served with whipped butter, lemon, and powdered sugar, and the Turkey, Avocado, Bacon, & Cheese Omelette ...with a side of pancakes...you get a choice of pancakes or toast. What I thought found very nice was that the pancakes came with a side plate of warmed syrup....yum.....and also small side of whipped butter, and powdered sugar. We were told that the Baby Dutch would tale 15-20 minutes to prepare, but that was just fine with us. The food came and .....OMG!.....the Baby Dutch looked absolutely awesome and tasted exactly that! It was hot, fluffy, and absolutely delicious....especially with a little warm syrup poured on it. It was just perfect.....and whatever my friend couldn't finish, I gladly helped out cleaning off her plate. As for the omelette...OMG once again.....it was huge!.....and totally delicious too! .....I gave my friend half of it and she couldn't finish it....and I was so stuffed after I finished my half. The pancakes which came with the omelette were very good too.....nice and fluffy, but we tried a bit of it and kept it aside to focus on the Dutch Baby and omelette.....and thank goodness we did as we couldn't take another bite. All I will say is that I think this place is awesome! I so wanted to try their breakfast crepes, but I knew there was no way we could finish.....how frustrating. Definitely worth coming to this place for an excellent breakfast along with the nice friendly service. This restaurant was a family favorite because of the DUTCH BABY. A tried and true experience for decades but today...with noticeable new staffing 7AM Thursday. Our server was attentive & fulfilled her part efficiently. Your female HOSTESS who did not want to be named as well as your acting male manager we're less then helpful & did not handle my conflict with the VERY poorly undercooked, soggy, & inedible DUTCH BABY. They represent your establishment and did not want to take responsibility nor show integrity of trying to resolve conflict with your customers. Instead we received arrogant,dishonest, & entitled behavior. The honesty was the fact they wouldn't give their first names, no one was wearing a name tag! Please check the cameras by the register between the hours of 7-8AM, we were the first customers seated. In a world on the brink of going into recession NO ONE can afford to lose valuable customers. This experience in a nut shell is shameful to your integrity of your restaurant. If your patrons feel less then great of service after their horrible experience, you should have staff who are NOT inept to represent the integrity of your restaurant. Hubby has been wanting to try this place for some time. I didn't get a pic of his meal , he had a Belgium Apple Waffle (waffle with chopped apples on top) and the Swiss Oven Omelette (bacon, Swiss cheese, onions, garlic). The place was super busy but that's to be expected on a Saturday morning. I had heard customers complaining about wait times for food and order issues as they were leaving and we almost decided to leave. We had a 15 minute wait so we chatted outside on a nearby bench. Hostess use intercom to call your name so you didn't have to worry about losing your spot. Would've been nice to have been offered coffee or water while waiting, but that's just me lol. Once inside we were seated and the place needed a bit of cleaning from the rush but I did notice cleaning happening. Wait time for what we ordered was average. I loved the cute mugs that they coffee was served in. We enjoyed our meal and the service. I would've like my omelette to have been cooked a bit longer as it was a tad runny and it could've used a bit more seasoning but I was able to add my own. It was a huge portion and I wasn't able to finish it all. Hubby liked this place better than the Broken Yolk but that's a review for another time. Oh and a little side note, no military discount offered here but they do have a rewards program and you can get a free cup of coffee on your first visit when you sign up. My family and I have frequented the OPH several times since moving to the area. Today's visit was by far our favorite, and best experience - hands down. The previous owner and many of the staff members were not as welcoming. Quite cold, to be honest. However, today's visit and having the opportunity to meet Max (New Amazing Owner), Melissa ( Super Kind Manager), and Paola (Sweet and Attentive Server) restored our faith in great food and wonderful customer service. I'm so glad that we didn't pass on stopping by today, as we enjoyed our meal and the warm, welcoming staff. Oh, and the way hot chocolate was served and prepared....2 thumbs up! My husband devoured 6 pancakes, with nothing to spare on his plate. I ordered 3 Gluten-Free pancakes, and a vegetarian omelete. Absolutely delicious! I got the spinach omelet and my wife got the vegetarian omelet and asked if they could substitute the broccoli for basil and waitress said sure. Nope came with broccoli still. This used to be one of our favorite spots. After todays visit, I don't think we will be back. When we arrived, it wasn't busy but the service was slow. Took awhile to get our food and when my husbands biscuits and gravy arrived, they were barley warm, his corn beef hash was mushy and tasted like cat food and I had a large bite of eggshell in my baja scramble.
