We love this place!!! We have tried their soft serve along with their taiyaki. Everything is so good and the service is always great. The only thing I do wish they did are samples of the soft serve but it's okay. It's nice and clean when you walk in there they even have complimentary water.
Delicious, cool and cute treat during this heat wave! I ordered the cookies and cream swirl with ube, Nutella filling and Oreo and biscoff toppings with a macaron. Wish I could taste the ube better but it was still good. Tasted and looked more like black sesame ice cream to me so I'm not mad because I love the taste of black sesame. They also offer unlimited toppings. No line on a Wednesday and cashier was very kind and friendly.
I've been to several Somi Somi's and I'm glad this location is able to add to the consistency with the chain of dessert places. Serving up Korean soft serve, Somix2 is worth a taste especially if you just finished eating at the Handroll place next door! Parking is easy and there is plenty of space for everyone. When you walk through the front door, you will notice a kiosk on your left hand side. The workers are busy cooking up your taiyaki and serving you ice cream with toppings galore, so there will not be an actual register for you to order at. You will first be asked to place your phone number before ordering, so you can join their rewards program. As usual, my fiancé and I have a plan: I get two fresh taiyakis (Nutella flavored and custard flavored) while he gets the soft serve in a cup (cookies and cream was the choice today). They serve the taiyaki piping hot! I break apart my taiyaki and dip it into his soft serve. This way, I get flavored taiyaki with the deliciousness. I noticed this location served coffee floats. I also saw several teenagers get their strawberry milk drinks. That shall be next on my to-do list!
Long wait and the one and only cashier did not even tell us order from the kiosk only! There should have been a sign notating that otherwise everyone is waiting around for no reason. Unbelievable for a big store with only one worker...this is not Mexico. Side note: big kudos to the young lady working as fast as she can alone! She did the job for 3 people. Give her a raise. We left her with a $5 tip. Ice cream and waffle fish was delicious. Tried black sesame, milk, strawberry, ube.
Ended the night with some matcha ice cream with Nutella stuffed Fish waffle! They had a new flavor: cherry blossom! Very subtly but whimsical, I'd say it was a great ambience! Servers are fast or they have an iPad kiosk when lines are slower for faster service!
We've been here twice since they opened, and I really wanted to love this location... but it's just not hitting the same. First off, service isn't the greatest. The space is also lacking seating-- there are only a few stand-up shelves inside similar to Mira Mesa, but come on, you have ALL that empty space! For context, we used to live in Mira Mesa and would go to that location all the time. Their taiyaki was always made fresh-- warm, crispy on the outside, soft on the inside. At this Temecula location, the taiyaki has been HARD AS A ROCK both times. They seem to pre-make them and have fans blowing on them, which completely dries them out. That's honestly the biggest disappointment. Taiyaki should be hot and fresh-- that's kind of the whole point..... The ice cream itself is still good, and I do appreciate the rotating flavors and the variety of toppings. That part is consistent. But overall, the quality just isn't at the same level as the San Diego spots. Hoping management tightens things up because it has so much potential.
SomiSomi has made its way to Temecula! A rarity once consolidated only to LA or San Diego's foodie scenes has made its reach to our side of the Inland Valley. This is definitely a must try if you're craving something sweet. My personal favs are the crispy taiyakis with a spongey bite before you reach the warm gooey filling of your choice. You can't go wrong with a classic custard, but the sweetness scale has no limit--from Nutella to a milder matcha or black sesame filling. I personally don't gravitate towards soft serve, but aside from special swirl combinations, they also offer a topping bar selection to further customize your sweet treat. Highly recommend!

We've also tried red bean and custard fillings for the taiyaki. Everything is yummy and aesthetically pleasing and you honestly can't go wrong. There isn't really a place to sit down and eat but they have tables where you can enjoy your treats while standing up and they also have some water if you need it as well. I recommend this place to get your soft serve on!
The shell was delicious & the Oreo and strawberry ice cream were delicious. Wasn't a huge fun of the matcha flavor...
It's located at the corner of Promenade in Temecula a little tucked away. It's nice because they have a ton of benches and umbrellas you can sit outside to enjoy your ice cream. The store is nice and clean. There was only one worker when we went. She was quick and friendly. They have a handful of different soft serves and they'll swap out which swirls flavors they have. I usually get the matcha, but I tried the matcha strawberry swirl today. It was a great mix of flavors! I like getting the ahboong where the ice cream comes swirled on top of the fish bread (not made from real fish), but they have different options as well. You can get the fish bread on top or just in the cup! They also sell the fish bread on the side. They offer different filling flavors and toppings!

Been wanting to check out SomiSomi and finally got the chance a few days ago with my kids. Its located by the mall near Benihana. We all ordered their fish shaped cone upside downwith soft serve called "Ahboong". You can either order it this way, or the just soft serve in a cup and even a cold brew float. Once you order what style, you have serveral choices for soft serve and the filling of the ahboong (fish cone). So many varieties you can make! Not only do they serve this but they also serve Taiyaki which is just the fish shaped waffle with a filling. Everything is made to order and this sweet treat is pure deliciousness. Hot or cold day, its an enjoyable treat! As you enter the store, straight ahead is the counter area where they make the goods and to your right is a long standing table/countertop to enjoy your treats. Unfortunately there are no tables or chairs inside but outside are some benches. The young ladies assisting us were nice and helpful with any questions we had. This is a cashless establishment so make sure to have a card to make your purchases not cash. Can't wait to come back and try another variety of flavors!
Somisomi in Temecula continues to serve up delicious and iconic taiyaki with ice cream. Winter seasonal flavors include their banana pudding ice cream (which has been bomb) and hotteok taiyaki, a thick warm cinnamon and nut filling reminiscent of apple pie filling without the fruit. I recently had their ice cream for an elite event and had to come back for more. Highly recommend both limited flavors before it goes away!

I'm so glad there's a Somi Somi in Temecula! The ube soft serve is sooo good and the taiyaki is made fresh so when you walk in it smells amazing. When you're not craving something cold and just want dessert, our go to is the 5 pack of taiyakis and we get Nutella and the cookies and cream one. Can't go wrong with it! The menu and vibe is really cute. There's only one long high top to eat at and nothing on the walls so the noise level gets pretty loud. We took our order to go. read more

The staff was friendly, everything was clean, and the service was quick even though they were busy. Definitely worth the stop, and I'll be coming back to try more flavors. I'm so glad. I finally went to SomiSomi in Temecula! I got the upside down - the fish-shaped cone is upside down in the cup. That makes room for a bit more toppings! They took the freshly baked cone and stuffed it with a generous portion of Nutella (my choice). They then added the soft serve ice cream to it and to the cup- then invited me to choose my topping. The Ah-boong cone is delicious. It's made in front of you- and the outside is crispy while the inside is almost chewy. It's still warm when they give it to you! They also add a small macaroon as a delicious garnish. This is a really beautiful presentation! The location is clean and bright. The room is very sparse. There are no tables to sit at at all. But there's ample space to wait both inside and outside, and there are some benches as well. The staff are friendly and attentive and it's a great spot in town for a treat! read more

My sister introduced me to Somi Somi earlier this year when we realized they opened this location and it is SO yummy. I am lactose intolerant so I rarely get to enjoy any kind of ice cream unless it's dairy free. Somi somi's matcha flavor is dairy free and the fish taiyakis are like a very fresh waffle with your filling of choice (I get Nutella). They're SO good. They also come out with special seasonal flavors. The service is usually quick even when busy. The ambiance is nice. Everyone is always thoroughly enjoying their dessert. I have never once seen anybody complain or not like it! 100/10 read more

They serve a special Korean Dessert "Ah-Boong" fish waffle shaped cone with the filling of your choice on soft service The contrast of the warm waffle cone and cold soft serve makes it an enjoyable treat Ambiance: simple nothing fancy, but the food is what you come here for. Two workers on a Saturday night. Management needs to hire more people. They have one self serve register with people who don't know what they want so you got the line out the door. If you can't afford another worker at least get multiple kiosks to order. The poor workers in the back had a lot to do I hope they getting paid for their hard work read more
Tried out this new location on a Saturday night. Arrived at 8pm and the line moved steadily. It's popular so we expected it to be crowded. We finally made our way to the front in 30 minutes. The staff were friendly and welcoming. The portions were very generous. The store is bright and smells so good. We will be back. read more

This was wonderful. The matcha is to die for if you don't mind me saying and my husband absolutely adored the custard filled fish cone thing. The service was wonderful we were helped quickly and they answered the questions my husband had since he had never tried it before. On top of that, my husband had been raving about how delicious the ice cream was when he accidentally dropped it mid sentence. In spite of the overwhelming crowd of people that had just come in and were waiting in line, the wonderful workers replaced my husband's ice cream free of charge. The restaurant itself is clean but there are no seats. You take your desert and go. read more

My son and I shared the Upside Down Ahboong with Matcha Strawberry soft serve with Custard Tayiaki. We also had the Nutella Tayiaki and it was sooo good! The shop is nice and clean and the service is good. I would definitely recommend! read more
My wife went for a Yelp thing. And I tried one of their Taiyaki's she got and it was quite good so I ordered a 5 pack for like $9.99 (which I think is quite reasonable) to share with my 4 kids who scarfed them down. They had many different great flavors like cheese, Nutella, Oreo, custard and more. The service was welcoming and super friendly. When we went they were busy, but we didn't have to wait long. There is nice seating outside and a long narrow high table you can place your food on and eat in. I definitely recommend that you give them a try. read more

This ice cream shop just opened in the area and we finally stopped by. Service was amazing! Alanna was really nice and super patient with us since it was our first time and we asked a lot of questions. She knew what to recommend and was great about pointing out options for dietary restrictions. The place was clean inside. I'd heard from a friend that it used to get really packed when it first opened, but when we came by, we were attended to right away. There's no seating inside, but we found a couple of benches outside. Not the most comfortable, but it worked. We got the matcha & strawberry swirl, and even though I'm not really a fan of strawberry, matcha, or ice cream in general, I kept going back for more. It was smooth, not too sweet, and didn't leave me feeling heavy or bloated afterward (which is a big plus). They also have lactose-free options. My favorite part was the taiyaki, which is like a fish shaped waffle. We got the Nutella one (highly recommended) and the hotteok, which ended up being my favorite. I'd definitely recommend checking this place out! I could easily see it becoming my go-to ice cream spot in the area. read more

Tried their seasonal flavor of Banana Pudding, as well as the Strawberry flavored soft-serves today - both were phenomenal in terms of texture, temperature, consistency... the Taiyaki was also warm, fresh and crispy with mochi inside, as well as the Nutella filling I selected. Came by after dinner and honestly somi somi is never not a good idea. I wasn't feeling for their ice cream so can't go wrong with the taiyaki. Their taiyaki is one of my favorites and it doesn't disappoint. The custard is my go to!'! I love that it's always made fresh to order. Finally got around to trying Somisomi. I can see why it's always busy. There was a line on a Tuesday night, and there were several people outside enjoying their ice cream. There is nowhere to sit inside, so the benches outside are pretty full. I had the upside down with custard filling, milk ice cream, and biscoff topping with strawberry. The soft serve was great, not overly sweet, and creamy, perfect with the biscoff crumble topping. The upside down fish is like an ice cream cone in the shape of a fish, filled with a filling of your choice, which they then place upside down on top of the soft serve. It was good, except a part of it was not fully cooked, so it was kind of doughy. We still really enjoyed it, and look forward to trying other flavors. read more

We came for the Ube Ice Cream Ahboong soft serve and it did not disappoint 10/10. On top of that, they gave out a complimentary Oreo Taiyaki 9/10 for the grand opening, talk about sweetening the deal! The staff was super friendly, greeting everyone with big smiles while hustling nonstop. Even in full-on day-1 training mode, they managed through a super hectic grand opening lines and buzzing ambiance. read more

There was no line outside! Yay! It was pretty busy inside. Service is friendly. The milk soft serve is delicious! My daughter and husband had the strawberry milk and said it was wonderful! There is only a couple of places to sit outside, no indoor seating. . We will be back! read more

I wanted dessert! Finally open and I popped in and got myself a upside down fish thingy! Not what its called lol but my soft serve was strawberry and milk, my stuffed fish waffle is black sesame and topping coconut and macaroon. Yuuuumy. The inside is actually just a store front and hallow.inside was super busy but they were fast. The whole dessert was awesome. Coming back to try other flavors it satisfies my sweet tooth. I like to pretend its healthy shhh. read more

This place opened not that long ago. When we walked up, we were greeted with sticky splatters of dried up ice cream all over the concrete in front of the store. When we walked in, there was no line so that was nice and we were greeted and the staff was friendly. This was my first time so I wasn't expecting it to be great because I thought it was just soft serve ice cream but to my surprise, the fish cone made it really good. It was crunchy on the outside and almost like a cake inside with the filling of your choice. Mine was Nutella so it was good. The cookies and cream soft serve was more creamy than the normal soft serve in my opinion. You also get to add toppings. I had the Oreo crumbs and sprinkles. I think overall it was a great treat. A bit overpriced in my opinion but worth it for a once in a while kind of thing. read more
