Heard a lot about this place so when my family and I pass through Seattle we had to stop by... I was greeted with great customer service . My hubby and I ordered the steak and cheese fries , deluxe Philly cheese steak and mushroom steak . We got order within 10 minutes. Steak and cheese fries was so good and the give you a lot! I was trying to dig in my Philly cheese steak and the bread was soggy but the filling was so good. It was falling apart and couldn't really eat it properly so I grabbed my fork and started eating it. I was rollin' with my homies down Rainier Ave S the other day just chillin' when I got hungry. OK so I wasn't really rollin' with my homies but part of me felt like I should have been. I saw the sign for the The Original Philly's and thought why not a chicken cheese steak sounds tasty right about now. All that rollin' got me hungry you know, plus I had an hour to kill. I placed my order, one half mushroom chicken cheese steak, an order of cheese fries and some water (they are Pepsi people) for here please. I took a seat in one of the booths it wasn't dirty but it wasn't clean either actually it was more old than unclean. My food is delivered to me, I like it lots of food for less than ten bucks, that's kind of hard to do in this city. The cheese fries reminded me of the cheese fries I use to get as a kind with the neon yellow-ish orange-ish cheese. They were bad but in a good way. The chicken cheese steak was a bit salty for me and lacking the cheese, well there was a little bit of cheese but not a lot, thankfully I had some cheese I could spare from my fries to complete my sandwich. I was not about to confront the cook here and complain I felt it would be in my best interest to just shut up and eat so I did. It was good in a bad way where the bread was soggy due to the grease. They do offer things besides cheese steak sandwiches. You can get hoagies, fish and chips, wings and they even have veggie items for you non meat eaters out there. Oh and if you're from the east coast and craving a TastyKake guess what you can get one here! My favorite part of my meal was listening to the girls behind me talking. One girl was talking about how Monique was all axein her where she got her hair did at cuz she liked it. Than the other girl was talking about how Frosty, her baby daddy, was in jail cuz he beat up Pookie, Pookie being her other baby daddy. I've never had a cheesesteak sandwich from Philly but I do know what delicious is and that's what's served here. I ordered the basic Philly, half for $6.99. Came up in a few min -- super impressed. Bread/bun is soft but somehow holds up to the SUPER GENEROUS portion of shaved meat. Their magic flavor seasoning is distinctive and the right amount. Nice amount of grilled onions. The roll was solid and held up to the juicy philly sandwich. I got a bit of a surprise when I inspected my receipt though. There was a $.50 service charge added to my bill (presumably a credit card fee) that was not disclosed on any signage in the store, and my small fountain drink was charged $2.49 while the menu board reads $1.99. I also ordered a small mini-pie after asking how much they were. I was told $1, and confirmed that price at $1 before ordering, but I was charged $1.50 on my receipt. So in total $1.50, which isn't much, but I have a hard time doing business with a dishonest restaurant. read more

NO ONE IS BETTER THAN SEATTLE's own PHILLIES BEST. MUST HAVE! Also, the owner Guy Thomas is a generous stand up man in the community. He is a good guy with a big heart and excellent recipe. I really like the hole-in-the wall feel; in Seattle, it seems like most restaurants are swanky hipster spots with overpriced, mediocre food. When I walked in and saw this place, with none of the frills, I knew I was in for a treat. Delicious cheesesteaks, decent price, and the staff was great. Last time the I received the wrong one, this time I had to leave for work after nearly 25 minutes and just had to get my money back. Several orders were mixed up and several customers were at the counter willing to take anything after how long it was taking. The employees ignored us and just seemed annoyed, nobody apologized for the delay/mixup. Previous cheesesteaks were ok. Really greasy. Not bad, but nothing special. Rainy day, practice canceled, hyped the team about this place. Two of us went, first one orders for his son and himself. Staff doesn't want to take both orders at that time. I wait ten to fifteen minutes for staff to return. They return with his food then proceed to take the order of a guy who just walked up and in front of me. Looked at the order we received, sloppy soggy mess that didn't even stay together, must disgusting Philly I have seen, quality has dropped off drastically. It kinda just tasted like mayo, so I tried the chicken and it was pretty bland. My husband got the steak deluxe and we haven't tried it yet, but when we do, I'll update my review. A pretty good Philly... The 1/2 Pep Chs with fries was plenty big for a full sized guy that was fairly hungry. The sandy did have a bit too much salt for me, but I'll just ask for less next time around. Went to Original Philly's haven't been there in awhile but have been a periodic customer for 10+ years. This place is consistent. The flavors I fell in love with back in the day are still there. During this difficult you look for places you can trust when going outside your own kitchen, this is it! They were very efficient and had the proper spacing needed to keep everyone safe.
