I generally will not write negative reviews, but when it comes to being served fish that is not fresh, I can't hold my peace. We had the tuna tartar with roe and the roe had definitely turned. This place has a beautiful location but it is truly mediocre. Bummed. read more

Overall disappointing but a few positives. Great welcome by bar tender & hostess. (Owners) Drinks were tasty. Fish n chips was great. Service was a 1 out of 10. The waitress was disorganized, unfriendly and very slow. She delivered the food late, didn't return to the table to check in, and only got to our second beverages after she saw me take our empty glasses up to the bar. Food was under cooked. When returned for extra cooking it came back still raw. Waitress didn't seem to care. No discount for food I couldn't eat. Haven't been this unimpressed in a long time. It was not a $110.00 + tip meal I feel like it could be good and hope for a much better experience if we try it again. read more

We have been going to Maine on vacation for 10 plus years all up and down the coast this place stands out as one of the worst places we have eaten in. yes the views are nice. We ordered mussels they were sandy and came with corn Bread thought that's kind of odd. Next up seafood chowder if We ordered onion and bacon soup it would have been ok but little to no seafood and all you could taste was Onion and some bacon, no oyster crackers or bread but heavy on the onion. we also had an order of fried fish it was not bad until you got a bite with sage on some spice on it fried under the batter, also not real fresh tasting. Wait staff for a not very busy place ok but on their game. left very disappointed. I guess if you are the only place around why have standards. read more

We were exploring the Georgetown area and came across this gem of a restaurant. The view could not be better and the food was excellent. We had a special appetizer of roasted peppers with an interesting sesame sauce and the Loaded pizza which had tons of flavor. I loved my cocktail, Mary Barrett's Bones - wish I wasn't driving so I could have had a second! We never get dessert but splurged and split one - grilled peaches with macaroons and honey whipped cream. YUMMM. Last but not least, the service was excellent. The owner was welcoming and very upbeat. Our server was friendly and knowledgeable. We will be moving to Woolwich and plan to make this a regular haunt! read more

Can't beat the beautiful spot but the food is mediocre and overpriced (i.e. $20 for over-breaded and greasy fish and chips; $15 for weak cocktails.) Since they are the only game in town I don't doubt that they will continue to do great business but hoping they up their game next season. read more

My overall rating is 2 1/2 stars. This Seasonal Waterfront Marina Restaurant has a prime location but recently provided my wife and I an overall mediocre dining experience. The recently renovated/redecorated bar & dining area is a plus. Service was courteous but ultimately inattentive. Very good Seafood Chowder and Lobster Mac 'n Cheese however the Chicken Caesar Salad contained wilted/discolored romaine and the dressing lacked any kind of bite. The menu seems a bit pricey and $3.00 iced tea, no refills, is a no-no in my book. read more

The view hasn't changed but wow, it's nice they're open again. Winter stretched long. We've loved the Osprey over the past couple of seasons, but this year's menu changes are outstanding and the staff is still so friendly and hardworking. They always had good vegan/vegetarian choices, but now that menu is on back of the main menu-- and they're good on gluten free options as well. A French Canadian treat- Creton-- has been added to guarantee starting your meal with delicious, somewhat sinful sharing (or a great small dinner with a salad). The new Nicoise salad is delicious. Some people will miss the pizza and who knows, in another season or two it may be back, but there are great alternative options. Fair warning the fried chicken sandwich is really generous-- order if you're really hungry. Of course it's also delicious. Don't worry-- you can still get delicious seafood too. The Osprey opened with a new owner recently. I love seafood and ordered a scallop dish that was exceptionally good, very tasty but the flavors were subtle at the same time. The scallops were served on roasted potatoes with kale and dribbled with a mysterious but delicious orange sauce. Service was great. I have eaten at the majority of restaurants in the Bath/Brunswick/Boothbay area and The Osprey, now under new ownership, is an absolute stand-out. Firstly, we went to The Osprey for a date night after trying a slice of margherita pizza from their mobile oven at the Bath Heritage Festival. Firstly, I'll go ahead and put their pizza in my top spot contenders in Maine (as a New Haven, CT native - I take my pizza commentary seriously). The dine-in experience we had was excellent and exceeded all expectations. There are few restaurants in the area putting out a product like The Osprey (it may be worth mentioning I spent most of my career working in fine dining and hospitality management). The Osprey uses local ingredients, all fresh, all carefully prepared and beautifully presented. The tuna tartare was among my favorite appetizers I have had anywhere in Maine - fresh, flavorful and creative - without being pretentious. The burger was on point and featured high quality Maine Family Farms beef (I added blue cheese and caramelized onion). The skillet cornbread would likely satsify even the most critical Southerner and was served with a garlic scape compound butter. We also had the mussels which tasted fresh and were cooked perfectly (none left behind as "iffy" or not opening properly) and was served with some nicely griddled, locally-sourced brioche from nearby Brunswick's "The Butcher & Baker". We thoroughly enjoyed the strawberry rhubarb tart for dessert (pictured here). I would like to note that even with a restaurant that was just about full - the kitchen and front of house prepared and delivered promptly. Though the outstanding food along with the view of the marina and waterfront are enough to keep me coming back - the beverage program here will certainly stand on it's own as an incredible compliment to the equally impressive food. The cocktail list is fun, creative and clearly well thought out. The drinks were nicely balanced, seasonally appropriate and absolutely delicious. We were able to sample a house limoncello with strabwerry shrub as well. The bar program at The Osprey offers craft cocktails I rarely experience outside of larger cities. I was thrilled when selecting a wine to go with my burger. It was not an assortment of the usual suspect varietals, but a fantastically unique list curated by The Osprey's Sommelier (yup, brick oven pizza and a somm). The list was easy to understand with tasting notes accompanying each wine and varietals that some diners may not be familiar with, but will certainly enjoy! Kudos to The Osprey for having my favorite wine list in Mid-Coast Maine. I will be keeping an eye on their social media as they seem to feature some interesting wine specials and pairings. Finally, the service was friendly, kind, attentive, well-paced and knowledgeable. Timing was perfect on everything, even with some special requests we had. We were thrilled with our experience across the board. Given my first impressions, I believe The Osprey is ready to show it will hold it's own among the best restaurants in Mid-Coast and is going to continue growing into something very special under the new owners and team, we sincerely look forward to returning. read more

If the Osprey were a Boston or Portland restaurant, it would be generating loads of attention for its great food, enthusiastic owners and staff, and interesting menu. Alas, it is far enough away from Route 1 and the Bath scene to not get much fanfare. It is worth traveling a few miles down the road to Georgetown to find this gem. We had been here years ago - as it turns out two sets of owners ago - and vowed not to return. We're glad we did. The new owners - two couples with an idealistic zest for locally sourced food, inventive dishes, and a team approach to hiring and supporting staff - have reimagined and reinvented this beautiful location. We both had a salad with blackened hake and a parmesan cracker on top. It was surprisingly delicious and special. The menu is varied and we wished afterwards that we had explored more. The chocolate dessert was amazing! Georgetown already has a lot going for it, Reid State Park being just one example. This "NEW" eating venue is one more very good reason to visit. read more

My wife and I worked with the Osprey to kick off our wedding weekend with a rehearsal dinner/welcome party, and the Osprey team could not have been nicer or more helpful. They worked with us to stay within our budget while still providing INCREDIBLE food, top notch service, and of course, their trademark amazing waterfront views. We were in Maine and went all 3 days of our stay by boat. The deck was great and the service was well executed. The lobster rolls were perfect. The third night we sat at the bar and had great conversations with the bartender while having fantastic house old fashions. The oysters, brined wings, and spicy margaritas were amazing. The seafood pasta special was unreal- I was taking it to go and ended up eating the whole thing at the restaurant. We also got a bunch of pizzas that were great with fresh ingredients. We happen to run into this place exploring Maine for the first time. We went there for a quick drink before we headed back to Portland for dinner reservations.
