I can't believe I just tried OystHers for the first time. It is the absolutely most perfect oyster bar. It has all the credentials for perfection...outdoor seating overlooking a body of water...in this case the beautiful Kennebec River, including a spectacular view of the big bridge over it. Watching boats go by, and people walking in the walking path to get to the park right next door...perfect for people and dog watching. Plus, OysHers allows well behaved dogs at the outdoor seating area. The menu includes MANY varieties of sparking wines, including a mimosa flight, and all local oysters, all sourced from women-owned oyster farmers, plus they have their own oyster farm as well. The menu does include a few non-seafood items, such as the classic Maine red hot dog. The menu also includes some caviar in case there is a need for a special occasion caviar celebration. There are a variety of seating options outside and inside. There are firepit tables with Adirondack chairs, regular tables and chairs, picnic tables, and high top tables. There is a beautiful display of the days oyster selection inside on ice. The ordering process is simple...order what you want at the register, tell them where you're seated (we were are fire pit #2) and they bring your order to you. You can start a tab or pay as you go. Each table has a little sign that says what the table name/number is. We went on a Wednesday afternoon so we did not try the fire pit. It is a great reason to go back. We tried the mimosa flight (orange, grapefruit, cranberry, and lemon) and a flight of oysters (4 different varieties). I couldn't tell you which one was best...they were all perfect. I especially loved how expertly they were shucked and cut loose. Every oyster slid out of its shell without any resistance and each oyster had all of its liquor. They were perfectly clean and chilled and served with lemon, a cocktail sauce and a delicious mignonette. My friend also tried a local canned cocktail, Dasch seltzer, that was excellent...not too sweet, lots of blueberry flavor. I can't wait to go back! read more

I have been here twice in the past week and will continue to visit as often as I can. The oysters are so good. So fresh, very clean, delicious. The Crabster sliders were excellent and the chicken salad (ordered on a roll instead of sliders) was plentiful and very tasty. Great cocktail, mocktail, and wine selection. We got to sit on the back patio and enjoy the river view. Well behaved dogs are welcome on the patio. Orders go in at the bar and servers deliver to the table. Polite, smiling, friendly service. Not a ton of parking immediately in front but it's super easy to walk from the many municipal parking areas downtown. Highly recommend for anyone in the area looking for a comfortable and delicious spot for a bite and a beverage. read more

The knowledgeable staff who are genuinely happy to guide you whether you're a longtime oyster lover or just getting started made it easy for the group to pick what they wanted. I am the oddity of the group-seafood isn't my thing-but happily you're not an afterthought here. The charcuterie boards are all delicious and have a variety of quality meats, cheeses, and accompaniments that feel intentional and indulgent, not like a consolation prize. It's a place where everyone at the table can order something they're happy to eat. You can feel the care behind the owners intention. Supporting a local female-owned business that delivers this level of quality and hospitality is an easy yes. This is an excellent place for fresh oysters with a riverfront view in Bath, Maine! My family arrived here in July 2026 for lunch after a morning visit to the nearly Maine Maritime Museum. First, it has a small but dedicated parking lot. Second, the service was friendly. After ordering at the front register and providing your table location, they will bring the food to you. Finally posting this, but while in Maine for work a week ago, we stumbled upon this oyster bar and it was WONDERFUL! Right on the water with a great patio of Adirondack chairs and picnic tables to enjoy your oysters, beer, wine, or bubbly, and other lovely snacks. It was so relaxing and charming that if I lived in Bath or nearby, I'd be here every week! We chose a mixed selection of a dozen oysters and the Downeast Smoke Show to go with our local beers. Since we come to Yarmouth 4 times a year for work, I'm looking forward to coming back to have some more oysters and explore other options on the menu at other times of the year. read more

Blueberry mignonette wow!!!! Love this woman owned operation. The outdoor seating on oyster shells adds to the ambience with a breathtaking view. This is a stop in the Maine Oyster Trail so I appreciated food options to help with adult beverage & oyster stomach. The North was flavorful cheeses, jam, mustard, meets, ritz & pretzels ( just what we needed). Drinks bubbly & Chardonnay were cold & refreshing- great selection ! We stopped by because we were getting Hangry. Love the name and they have great merch. I had the assorted half dozen oysters that were all absolutely outstanding. My dining companion ordered the shrimp cocktail and we split the charcuterie board. The charcuterie board had excellent dried tomatoes, little bit of olives, some prosciutto rice, crackers, a teeny tiny wheel of Brie, a couple balls of mozzarella that were kind of bland. There was a very nice bread and some olive oil. There were also some stuffed grape leaves that neither of us were crazy about and some strawberries. Oh and almonds. It was good, but of course, given the name, the star of the show really was the oysters and they were freaking amazing. Cute little place. I would highly recommend. read more

OystHERS is the kind of place I almost hesitate to write a review for, because it's so good, I want it to myself. The vibe is...outstanding. Riverfront location with fish jumping, boats coming and going, and inside/outside/porch seating; tons of parking available in the area; and interesting, funky decor. The people are friendly, helpful, and all over your seafood needs. The menu is...significant. The boards are generous; we had the 'Up North' and it worked well as a starter for four of us, more than the 2-3 promised. Then, one of us had lobster sliders (I snuck a bite and they were wicked decent with the amount of lobster meat - delicious.). The others of us got down on two dozen oysters in a flight. All were from Maine (why bother with oysters from anywhere else?!?), from Casco Bay up to Deer Isle - no Damariscotta oysters, but I'm not complaining - I get those guys all the time. They ranged from brinier to sweeter, all were really good. The drink list is similarly lengthy with some very interesting (in a good way) wines, enjoyed by two of our party; I opted for an Italian style Pilsner, Oxbow Luppolo, brewed just up the road and perfectly crisp. Small indoor seating area with tables with a view and a high top counter,airy open feel thru out. And a great outdoor deck with both picnic tables and smaller intimate two chair spots that boast fire pits! Great view over the Kennebec, nice breeze, well kept and attractive space. This charming spot is perfect place to while away a few hours with friends, sip some wine and nosh on locally sourced, pristine oysters while taking in the beautiful views of the surrounding area. Patio tables outside are perfect, even in a light drizzle, for watching the river roll by. We opted for a bottle of Gruner Veltliner to go with our two dozen oysters, while our driving friend stuck with a mock-tail. They have quite a selection of mock-tails, which also pair nicely with the menu options. The oysters themselves are beautiful briny bites of deliciousness, complemented by the house made mignonette or the cocktail sauce. 7/9/25 A very pretty oyster bar/ seafood cafe, quiet and subdued, until an overbearing blusterer announced herself (I would guess she was local; no tourist would act this way.) I digress. The service is excellent, smooth, well-oiled. Ava did most of the shucking; of my dozen oysters, I found one small shell remnant. Two varieties: House from Georgetown (down the Kennebec from Bath) and Emily's from Freeport. Both are cultivated by the women who own and run the Cafe. Both are quite briney, Emily's more so. Neither require help from the berry/mignonette. The House is softer, creamier- both yield easily to a soft crush between tongue and palate. I could not detect any sweetness in either. They offered just those two varieties- somewhat disappointing- but I'll give them another try this summer- and next, with Ava returning then. When the oysters are so fresh, sourced from Maine, an excellent shucker separates the woman from the boys. A caveat: unless you live in Bath, rely on your GPS; otherwise this would be impossible to find. This is an hour from my home, but worth the journey. read more

We had the oysters farmed by the owners and they were among the best I've ever had, which is saying something because we love oysters and have had many varieties from around the world. They were shucked beautifully, too. The local Maine bubblies were a surprising treat. My son ordered the lobster sliders, which were delicious. I'm not an oyster lover so wasn't sure if oysthers was for me but when I read the PPH review I decided I had to go and get the crab sliders. We sat on the back porch in a rainstorm and it was lovely. Saw some sturgeon leaping out of the water. The sliders were fresh and delicious. Next time I'd put the chips on the sandwich to add some more crunch. My husband was happy with the board he got and the amount of food on it. We had the house white which was affordable and delightful. All the drinks seemed reasonably priced. read more

Lo and her sister opened this lovely restaurant by the river in the summer of 2023. They have a great selection of oysters from their farm and local farms. Their charcuteries, sandwiches, salads, and caviar selections are also great. I had the Oyster flight and Downriver charcuterie which is more than enough to share with 2-3 people.
