    Seafood chowder
    Janice S.

Once again, yelp directs me to an amazing restaurant! We are staying close by at a campground and I found this place on you and we stopped in for a truly amazing lunch. I highly recommend the seafood chowder get the bowl. It is fantastic and plenty for a lunch and comes with a choice of a biscuit or a scone. My husband picked for me and ate my scone, which was a bacon cheddar scone, which was to die for. My husband had the steak shaved sub and he loved it. He also had coleslaw as did I as sides for our lunch. They have a beer of wine selection too. Check out their Facebook page because they post their daily specials which all sounded amazing and I am sure that over our five day stay in the area we will be returning

Basking in the morning sun with cozy seating inside or on the front porch. Friendly staff and savory bites... made from scratch. No frills, no fancy napkins... just good home cooking!!! Grab a sticky bun or treat from the pastry counter on your way out!

Meat Lovers Scramble and Mainers Breakfast

We visited Winnegance Restaurant and Bakery this morning for breakfast. The location is just a couple of miles down from downtown Bath. The decor and vibe is all very down east Maine with a couple of dear heads mounted on the walls for an extra woodsy touch. The menu is fantastic and offers many options along with several specials. We tried the Mainers Breakfast and the Meat Lovers Scramble. Both were very delicious. The portions were generous too. The staff was courteous and friendly, and many of the other customers seemed to be regulars. There was also a bakery case of both sweet and savory items that I can't wait to try. If that wasn't enough, they also had a case of scallops, oysters, and clams. My only challenge with this place is the parking that is limited and awkward. I highly recommend this spot and will definitely be making a return visit.

Over the course of our week+ vacation, this is by far the best breakfast we had anywhere, hands-down. We were deliberately trying to eat at as many different places as we could as part of our vacation experience. The staff was wonderfully friendly and laid-back. The food was Excellent! Fresh, flavorful, real food no fillers. Loved the hash omelet! Felt good eating there. The atmosphere also was adorable and pleasant and made us feel at-ease. Next time we go to Maine we're stopping here!

Excellent food and service! The clam chowder is TO DIE FOR and highly recommended! Chicken salad Italian was one-of-a-kind and also very delicious. You also can't beat the price of this amazing food. EAT HERE

Amazing breakfast! We always come to Popham Beach and have never tried this place due to the amount of cars out front it's always so busy so we tried a Friday morning at 10:00 and it was just perfect. Waitress was so kind, helpful, and truly on top of her game, running food, taking all the tables and ringing people out. All of our meals were amazing and were well priced. We all went home full and happy. I love checking Facebook to see the specials of the day and I was excited to try something new like the Thai Shrimp Scramble it was really amazing. A nice local spot with outstanding service, I would come back even if there was a long wait!

Winnegance is truly unique. It's in an old general store and has a charming, shabby chic vibe to it. We love to eat on the porch to enjoy the view of the Kennebec River. Breakfasts -- Look at the specials. There's always a few with fresh seafood. One of my favorite dishes is the Cajun haddock scramble. Also, Holly makes delicious baked goods. I'm hooked on her peanut butter cookies.

We stopped here after a beach trip and some poor food planning thinking we could just pick up some snacks and waters to hold us over until dinner. We had no idea it was a full service restaurant and we ended up having the most amazing lunch. Lobster grilled cheese, Reuben, & chowder. The staff was super friendly and it was clean and Covid safe. In fact, it was so good we drove an hour north on the way home to try breakfast and it did not disappoint. I had the Winnnegance special and it was an amazing Egg Benedict with lobster, fresh spinach and home fries. It was worth the trip back. I did not have any but I heard their cinnamon rolls are legendary.

My husband and I kept driving past and thinking we need to check this place out! I am so glad we did because it was delicious, cute as heck inside, and the prices were actually more reasonable that most places we have been. I will say we stopped for breakfast though and can't speak on their lunch menu. We brought in our extended family, so we're a large table of 7 and they managed us just fine, food still came quickly. My husband and I split the breakfast sandwich and the dressed up French toast and both were fantastic! We were too big of a group to seat outside but the view there is also really nice! Only tip is be prepared with parking, it's kind of limited. That said our two cars got parked easily!

The Beer Cave is a happening spot, all the way in the back and you can purchase and pound anytime of day, just not between 1am and 5am which is reasonable and they sell booze and wine and it's at all so very cheap - I could easily develop a bit of habit here in Maine - let's hope not. The magazine rack has local periodicals that cost a lot more than they deserve which isn't Cumberlands fault, their communist rags are so self serving to the posh Portland people, makes my stomach turn every Sunday morning, so I'll grab the freebies and read about Da Bearz and other high school sporting teams. Chips, dips plastic clad pies all of which I pass on but I've wanted a few gas station egg salad sandwiches which will serve you well in a pinch - that's all for now fine citizens of planet earth - until next time -

The large coffee will cost $3.12 w/ tax, but will set you free from caffeines calling and with a long day ahead & the quality of the beans used, it's worth the extra dough ray me. Hot foods inside also add to the star points, as a traveler - a warm slice of pizza (perhaps a bit aged in the day) beats a cold turkey wrap. Road nomad tip: just Dunkin your pizza in your coffee for a hotter and faster breakfast after filling your tank and continuing the road. Clean outside and in - Mainers are typically good about not littering, some more than others and a few loosies can escape your clutches on a windy day, so there is a margin for litter error.
