I've been going to the outlets since I was a kid and it was called the block. I like that they turned it in to outlets because it improved the quality of the place by a lot. Ew what is this trash? Yet somehow I sometimes end up going here with a friend or my group. What the hell right? I don't think I would go here unless I was forced to (literally). The Block is always dirty, filled with litter and junk everywhere, and teeny-boppers who think they're soooo cool roaming it. I personally find this place annoying. The only good thing(s) about the Block are... - OFF 5TH - Corner Bakery - ....uh thats about it. Parking here is always a bitch no matter at what time you're here. People here can be rude and give you dogging stares when you walk past them. EXCUSE ME STOP STARING AT MY TRUE RELIGIONS. And the curfew here for kids should be 6 pm, not 11 pm. Don't they have a family to go home to? OH the theater here sucks. I hate it. It's always unkept and dirty and packed. GROSS. and the speaker system here is too loud. I don't want to go deaf. I got to give the credit, this place is huge. There is a cool trendy shops and stores around this shopping plaza. Probably the best one in OC. Way better than the overpriced, super pretentious South Coast Plaza or so-so Irvine Spectrum. For the adults, there are many fine eateries in this place. Probably the most popular one being Market Boiler, Alcatraz Brewing Co, and Cafe Tu Tu Tango. Oh, did I mentioned that Dave and Buster's are here too. As a previous reviewer mentioned, Hilo Hattie is also here in this location. I have never visited any other Hilo Hattie, but this place is definitely a cool place to shop for your Hawaiian wears. There is a 30 screens theater in this plaza making it one of the bigger multiplex around. Every cool movies are definitely playing here. Looking for music, books, computer games, cellphones, shoes, and other cool accessory items? No problem! This place got it cover. Even a skatepark is here. Now the good stuffs are out of the way, here are some drawbacks. Kids are everywhere. I really mean it...everywhere. It seemed like the adults would shop at SC, while the college kids hang out at Irvine Spectrum, this place draw every imaginable school-aged kids in the county. Luckily on Friday and Saturday, cops are out in force to enforce the 10pm curfew, but the mall closes at 11pm for most stores. On weekday, it's 9:30pm. The parking are the worst! The average time I usually get is anywhere between 30 minutes to an hour on Friday and weekend. It's a real jungle out there. I only advise coming here if you left your pissy mood at home because this will drive you up the wall. I promised you that. Overall, it's still a cool place to shop, probably people watching, and other fun activities. Just make sure you bring your kid repellent. read more

New name. New decade. Same aversion My last review was 2007, and this place is still just as dismal and jostling as it has always been. Sure the stores have changed and for the most part, for the better, but the people have remained the same, and that's was sends me screaming. Outlets are great for saving a buck, and I have found some incredible deals here, so I do shop here on rare instances, but never have I ever wanted to come here, and now that the crowds have grown as a result of the discounted stores, it's become even more nerve racking to walk around. If you're able to come on a weekday, do it, because it's pretty peaceful with only a few annoyances here and there, but after work hours and weekends are only if you don't mind screaming children, mindless youth, and shoulder to shoulder shopping. Mostly, I come here for Corner Bakery, but now I actually find myself driving way down to Main St. and going to the CB across from the mall (which is also a horrifically depressing shopping destination except for the fact that Dog Haus is there). You'll find many discounts here and the selection is pretty decent, so if you're a normal person with a normal tolerance level, you'll be fine. I remember like it was yesterday in 5th grade when kids asked me if I had been to the block. I asked what that was and as kids do, they laughed and walked away. I learned from my neighbor later on that it is an outdoor mall, full of fun. That Adidas outlet store was once the main arcade and the nike store was once the incredible book store called borders where I would read poetry on open mic nights in high school. The block always holds my cherish memories of who I eventually would become. Buffalo wild wing was my young adult year place where every Tuesday me and my neighbor use to get Tuesday wing day for 49 cents a wing before Arby's bought the chain. I still go to this amc theatre whenever I am home and craving a movie and I have seen countless movies. The force awaken midnight release was seen here and then we would go to tutu tango the bar afterward for drinks and munchies (too bad it got replaced). In high school games workshop use to be right next to where neiman marcus was and i would go there and buy some cool figures to glue together and paint and out onto the battlefield. The outlet of orange will always hold a deep beautiful place in my heart. read more

I'm clicking on four stars for nostalgia and for hope of better stores to come. Some of the stores I liked are no longer there but a Neiman Marcus outlet will be opening soon. The movie theater remains, as does the Saks Fifth Outlet (Off Fifth), the Borders bookstore and Krispy Kreme donuts. They still have the outdoor kiosks selling various merchandise. It would be better if there were more stores and restaurants, but it turned out to be a decent place to have lunch during the week. It wasn't crowded, as you may have guessed. I've had great times in the past here, I'm hoping that there will be more and that The Block will upgrade itself. read more

I work by the Block so oftentimes on my breaks I stroll the different walkways and paths to the different shops and restaurants. At lunch time this place can get crowded since many corporate office buildings are nearby. If you want to avoid the crowds (e.g. for lunch) come after 1pm. Between the hours of 12pm-1pm can be pretty hectic. There are many ways to get into the epicenter of the Block, but the way I usually come through is through the pathway with all the food eateries...which I'd like to call SAMPLE HEAVEN! If you come here everyday (which I usually do), you'll be used to the girls standing outside handing out samples of garlic chicken, mango chicken, and all sorts of items. I always grab samples, whether or not I'm hungry or not - it's nice to munch on something while you walk around. It's almost like Costco...but outdoors. You got your basic stores to keep any guy or girl happy. You've got a Nordstrom Rack, Saks Off 5th, H&M, Nike, among others... I don't personally do shopping here but my friends do a lot of their shopping here and they seem to be pleased with the selection. There's also a lot of places where you can do happy hour, such as Cafe Tu Tu Tango, El Torito, and Dave and Busters...which makes it easy for happy hour after work with co-workers. I've been to all three for happy hour, and each location serves up a pretty awesome happy hour. Overall the Block gets 3 solid stars for offering plenty of shopping options, happy hour options, and adequate food options. There seems to be a surplus of Chinese-style food eateries, as well as plenty of unhealthy food options... I wish there could be more diversity in food options here. But that might be asking too much, since at the end of the day, the Block's a mall and malls serve mall food. read more

Call it what you may The Outlets, The City, The Block (always The Block to me) this place is ever-changing. This outdoor mall in Orange is a great place to shop several high end stores such as Saks or Neiman Marcus at slightly discounted prices (still expensive and more than I can afford) as well a great variety of restaurants such as Dave & Busters, Corner Bakery, Buffalo Wild Wings and much more. Be sure to pick up a free coupon book for checking in on Yelp! The mall being open and outside is nice but despite the openness this place still gets packed. This is a great place to walk or simply sit around and people watch, catch a movie, go bowling. They even have a train for the kiddies. The Block or whatever you call it is a decent outdoor mall and one of my favorites but the ever-changing stores and restaurants makes it hard to keep up. I will continue to come here but it can be so much more if they can find done steady stores for the long term. read more

I always forget that the Block or Outlets at Orange exists. It'll always be the Block to me but it has since been renamed. You can find some outlet stores here like Off Saks, Nordstrom Rack, Nieman Marcus Last Call, Banana Republic Factory, and Nike. The AMC is pretty nice as I've been here once or twice to watch a movie or screening. The parking is open season during the week but can be hectic on the weekends. Yes, there are droves of teenagers but where else could they go? Lucky Strike is located here and can be great fun for trivia or bowling. Bleehhhhhh..Outlets of Orange, why did they have to change the name. I grew up with calling it the Block of Orange and now they named it the OUtlets of Orange, sounds so cheap and bleh. Anyhow came here on a Saturday it wasn't that packed, I went to a few stores. The Carters store here is the best, good prices on pjs for my little one compared to the other Carters store which is $2.00 more, good clearance items also. The Forever 21 here sucks too, old clothes and nothing caught my eye. I love that they still have the Dave and Busters but they need better restaurants, Alcatraz sucks, they need to get better. read more

The Outlets at Orange is a place where you can go shopping within half a day and end up buying quite a bit of things. I found many of my items at this Nordstrom Rack then compared to the one in Brea. Parking for this place was super easy...I mean you pretty much have soo many spots to pick and choose from. The one thing that I didn't really like is most of the stores I would not really shop at. But besides that point it is clean, nice out doors, and a great place to walk and window shop or browse for something that you are trying to find. They do have a Bose store and a pretty big selection of sport jersey stores....if your into all that. read more

The outlets are right by the UC Irvine Medical Center. There are lots of restaurants and food stalls such as BJ's, TGIF, Krispy Kreme Donuts, Market Broiler, etc. I came here to find a pair of professional pants for work and to just window shop. They have so many stores! I visited Saks Fifth Ave, Nordstrom Rack, Calvin Klein, Banana Republic, Ann Taylor, and Loft for my pants and found one my size and length at Nordstrom Rack. I also checked out Forever 21, Victoria's Secret & Pink, DKNY, and Gap. Nearly everything is discounted since it's the outlets. The only con is that parking is always packed on the weekends. Awesome outlet shops and the biggest AMC theater in the OC (30 screens). They're currently taking up most of the parking lot on The City Dr side to build a HUGE Nordstrom Rack here set to open in 2012. Their H&M is one of the biggest and neatest I've ever walked into. Hollister Outlet?! Oh baby, oh baby. :) Only downside to this place, you're pretty limited to fine dining, there really is none here. Head over to SOCO (South Coast) if you're looking to impress a girl. The Block is more for lil teeny bopper kids to take their 1st bf/gf out. read more

This place is a train wreck. There seems to be a thug element in this place for sure. The only store I like in here is the H&M, but the prices are the same as regular stores, so there are definitely better options. The other night I was here with my girlfriend and she felt like she was being profiled for some type of attack... nice feeling, uh no... I had looked for this mall when it was the Block at Orange and I never found it but navigation has changed a lot of things. My first experience was a bit rough. Coming from the parking lot, two groups were shouting obscenities at each other. Thankfully, they were behind me. Outlet malls are a bit odd anyway. They sort of have discounts, but the prices are usually higher so that the discounts work out to give you the regular price--or they have substandard merchandise that would never be available in their regular stores. Then, there are the regular stores that offer whatever you would find in a typical mall. This had a bit of everything. The discounts didn't look good on anything. The prices were high on a lot. The best thing is that it's an alternative to Main Place. read more

Meh. I've been to the Outlets at Orange for several years now. It used to be called the Block. Over the years, it has changed quite a bit. The majority of the stores are now clothing stores. I am disappointed by the size, selection, and lack of good sales. I went the day after Black Friday, this year, and the stores didn't have much, and the sales from Black Friday that were still posted were meh. At the same time, parking was difficult, and we had to circle a bit to find someone just leaving. I would say South Coast Plaza is the better shopping experience in the area. If you are looking for outlets, the Desert Outlets beat this by a long shot. read more

Visited July 2, 2016 I saw on YELP that a Banana Republic Outlet was nearby so I just had to check it out while being in the area. Low and behold but it's an Outlet!! Oh no!!! There were many stores to choose from. My kids and I found way to many shops to shop at. Not a good thing. I know for sure that if I lived closer to Orange, we would be here way to often. Plenty of free parking. Many places to eat. Much nicer than the Citidel. I highly recommend this place if you love outlets. read more

"Ummm... honey? I don't think we're in South County anymore...." We came here only because they have a Saks and Neiman Marcus outlet. Which, in my humble opinion seem very oddly misplaced here. I will quote Kimmy T. in saying that this place can best be summed up as "ghetto". I'm glad she said it first ;) Seems to be the consensus though. A lot of people just hanging out and not really buying anything. Tons of security everywhere which pretty much tells me that they've had issues before. Besides those two outlets, there's pretty much zero for us. I know, I know... I probably sound like a complete snob. Well, it is what it is. Parking sucks and we almost got ran over by people trying to hunt us down for our spot when we left. I used to be a fan of this place when it first opened up. Unfortunately as the years go by my 4 stars have gone down too. I used to love this place for having a Borders, the Virgin Records Store, a clean bathroom...but now that those things are gone, there's really nothing else to do but perhaps eat at some restaurants and watch movies. I'm a little surprised to see a Frederick's of Hollywood but then again, it would be every teen boy's dream to gawk into the store and either a. imagine their girlfriend in the outfits of b. imagine themselves in the outfits (then again that's another story) There's way too many furniture stores in here. At a time when real estate is crashing and people are going on foreclosures and shortsales, who will really buy furniture? (unless it's a front for money laundering and drugs...because yes I do have a rather suspicious/imaginative mind) I understand the economy is changing but there really needs to be a change in the bathroom situation. I can't imagine washing my hands in these blackened sinks. At first I was thinking it was a new granite pattern but upon close inspection I was horrified I even brought my niece to this place. It looked like people came here to dye their hair black and prance off leaving the place disgusting. Another thing, it's sad that the block is located in front of the juvenile hall where teens can seriously contemplate their lack of freedom. Then again, it's rather convenient that it's located in front of a hospital (in case of random acts of stupidity) The only reason I let this place hang at a two star is it's nice walking out here and checking out the stores and occasionally watching a movie. Argh! Do not go here on a Friday night. There is no parking for miiiiiiiles. Ok, maybe I exaggerate. You have to park over by the office buildings near the gym. Laaaaaaame. If you're going to the Block or the Outlets as they are called nowadays, then be prepared to walk a long way to get where you're going. Alternatively, you can take an Uber. You can be eco-friendly and carpool. Our you can take a bus. Parking is horrendous. Alright, beyond that, once you get here you have tons of options like Dave and Busters, Lucky Strike, or Tu Tu Tango. If you're feeling a little invincible, you can attempt to fly at the Van's Skate park. Cap the night with a movie at the AMC. the Block is alright. It ain't square. My favorite spot here would be the Starbucks. What does that day about the Block? read more

Outdoor mall much like Century City without all the pretentiousness. For those of yoh that dont like the sun or the out doors skip this place. All the major store.you would expect and a few surprises Neiman Marcus and Saks 5th. As all mall in America it has the mandatory AMC movie theatre and IMAX attached. We shop here at least once a month. We seem to always find cool deals on quality stuff. Neiman even has an estate jewlery/acessory dept. Top notch stuff like Hermes purses, Rolex, Hulbot, and highend jewlery. The only bone i have with this mall is that thier food options are weak but so what. We don't come to the mall to eat. We just head out to Newport or Laguna for that. read more

What keeps me coming back? One word: Nike! All kidding aside, the Outlets of Orange is an easy drive from the Irvine/Costa Mesa area and the prices are much better than that of a regular mall. I like to park between Nike and LA Fitness [there's a gate with an arm that's up] and I have never had difficulty parking there or behind DnB's. Nike: I go frequently you never know what they'll have in store. You'll find some great shoes in the back due to returns and if you're lucky, the store will receive a random shipment and put out some great/newer stuff! The lines get long over the weekend but move pretty quickly and Nike is always staffed with enough team members to help their customers out. Penguin: They've removed the women's stuff but I still follow my dad/brother/boyfriend in there because I love this Penguin location! Not every single item is on sale but polos, cardigans, and chinos usually are discounted heavily. Levi's: I always go straight to the sale rack and sometimes come up with finds that are less than $20 [jeans, sweaters, jackets, etc]. I never caught onto the Levi's craze so I personally wouldn't want to spend full price on anything in this store. Steve Madden: So hard to resist on the days that they have their buy one, get one 50% [or more] off! Hollister: This place is always on sale!! Yes, a lot of their clothes are for teenagers but sometimes you find a nice polo / romper / cardigan / jacket /sweater that's appropriate for adults .. and super cheap [so you don't feel super guilty about buying it]. Old Navy: I believe this location is an outlet .. which is insane because it's even cheaper than the already cheap Old Navy! G by Guess: Their sale section seems to always be 50% off which is great when you already have 23593456 Vegas outfits but feel the need to buy just one more dress .. or crop top .. or skirt :D This list could go on and on because of how many stores there are here .. I would definitely recommend stopping by and taking your time. You'll find some great deals! read more

Actually a pretty nice mall. It's about 3.5 stars, but I rounded up. Fun place to walk around with lots of things to see and do. It was almost closing time when I arrived, so I didn't get to do much shopping, but I did stop at the Vans Off the Wall store to watch the skaters for a few minutes. If you are an out-of-towner, check with your hotel to see if they have vouchers to buy reduced priced gift cards. I saw a couple doing it (it's $10 for a gift card; you reach into a bag blindly to get a random one, and the value is more than $10). My hotel didn't offer it, but obviously if the management was smart, any out-of-state drivers license should have sufficed. Noticed on one side many of the stores where out of business, yet they are adding on (building) a Nordstrom Rack. Also, I didn't stop, but it was cool to see a Krispy Kreme Donut Shop on the outskirts of the mall. Almost all of ours closed in Illinois. read more

-Huge outdoor mall. There are a lot of stores and restaurants! We have been here for shopping and Dave N Busters, ASICS, Nike, Under Armour and a few other stores. It is suppose to be an outlet, but they have a lot of their stores that you would find at a regular shopping mall. They have a huge movie theater, a bowling alley and an arcade. There is something for everyone here. You can also bring your dogs on a leash! -I must say during the weekend in the evenings it is a nightmare to find parking if you are going to see a movie or dine at one of the restaurants. You will find yourself circling around for a good 10-20 minutes looking for parking. They do have the office parking lots open for guest to park but that is a little far out if you don't mind the walking. read more

I used to come here allllll the time in early high school, which tells you a lot - this place is just buzzing with teenyboppers! Turn left, there's a teenybopper. Turn right, there's another one! Fast forward to present day and I still sometimes come here, but only as a last resort. It's definitely not the mall of my dreams by any means. The stores are okay and the restaurants are even pretty decent, but the parking lot always smells like trash. The movie theater is extremely filthy. Not to sound all judgy, but the caliber of people who come here is pretty low. I once pulled out of a parking space and the guy directly across from me started backing out, even though I pulled out first! On top of that, he didn't even know how to maneuver his humongous truck properly, so I was resigned to sitting in my car, nervously watching him attempt to back out and simultaneously praying he wouldn't hit my car. Seriously a nerve-wracking experience and quite a rude gesture if you ask me! That's just a typical experience at The Block because parking is always a nightmare here! To echo my fellow Yelpers, check out Anaheim Gardenwalk or even Mainplace Mall instead. This place has gone through a multitude of changes in the 20 years I've live in the OC. It used to be an indoor mall called The City Mall. It got (for the most part) demolished and transformed to the Block of Orange, which attracted mostly troublesome teens and unruly 20 somethings. Businesses left, creating too many vacancies, so the most recent change was renaming it The Outlets at Orange. Numerous eateries like - BJ's, TGIF, Buffalo Wild Wings, Johnny Rockets, and a decent food court Date night friendly places like - TuTu Tango, Dave and Busters, AMC, and Lucky Strike. There's even a day spa and a quick massage place as well as the obligatory froyo and Starbucks. The place has become more family friendly and offers plenty of clothing stores for not just women, but for the entire family. Plenty of FREE parking, but be prepared to walk if you can't find close parking. read more

This place is fun to go to once in a while, but it was definitely more fun when I was in middle school/high school. Various stores such as Hollister, Victoria's Secret, Saks 5th Avenue, Spencers, Bakers, Guess, and many other stores. It's basically an outside mall. As for food, it has Wretzel Pretzel, sweet shop, Rubio's, Pasta Bravo, Charley's, some Chinese food place, and a few other including Tastea and Starbucks. This place also used to have a Powerhouse game area, but they've closed it down and turned that area into like a sport shop or something. Oh yes! There's also the AMC, which doesn't take student ID discount anymore and they have D&B (Dave&Buster's), but I've never been into the D&B! There seems to be new stores lately. I think Forever 21 is sort of new and my friend claimed it's the "best" she's ever seen in Orange County. Come here for a date or on a full moon to just catch a movie because I'm sure it gets boring if you come here too much. read more

I have seen this center evolve from a very poorly managed mall, to a new outlet mall that became a "has been", to this newly revamped iteration. They have removed many of the one-off stores and have a great set of anchor stores and restaurants, Nordstrom's Rack, Buffalo Wild Wings, BJ's, Ann Taylor Loft, Forever 21, and a 30 screen movie theater. The upside/downside is that it is close to many OC freeways, but that also means getting there during peak travel times can be a challenge. Also because of its newfound popularity parking and wait times can be impossible. If you are in the area it is worth the time to check out, and if you beat the crowds, there are many fun things to do. read more

This mall is alright. It's an outdoor mall, which I'm typically not a fan of, but they did offer a good selection of stores that I was actually interested in buying from or just browsing. They have a dining area here that was giving out free samples of what ever it was that they were selling in their restaurants, which I of course liked. Other than that it's just like any other mall. What the heck is wrong with this place? When I was younger, I loved coming here. It was actually a place to spend a day at. Now, the only reason that could happen is if I spend time watching 2-3 movies at the AMC. The outlet aspect is a joke. There are very few quality stores here, I would say less than 10 are worth going to. When I was young, I didn't have to drive. May the gods smile on you if you are the driver. TOTAL LET DOWN!!! I'm an out of towner and was excited to be staying at a nearby hotel that was so close to an "outlet". With that much space, you would think they would have better stores and restaurants. Waste of time - this is NOT an outlet. read more
