Wow, from the moment you pull onto this property, you are swept back into time! Absolutely amazing! The service, food, and ambiance are absolutely over the top! The Mill Burger is the best burger we have ever had! Gruyere Cheese, Braised Short Ribs, Truffle Aoili, Arugula, all on top of the Burger! Seasoned to perfection! The Green Tomato Cake is absolutely so moist and delicious! You can not taste the tomato. It's like adding apple sauce to a cake for moisture. All the food was served hot and fresh tasting! Y'all. Y'all. wow. I am in love. 6/5 stars. You can't miss this experience. It's amazing. This place is a gem. Go during happy hour (everyday but Saturday) from 2pm to 5pm. Their happy hour smoked salmon dip ($7.50) is one of my favorite things I've had at a restaurant this year. Don't sleep on their risotto fritters either ($7). Those are small bites of happiness. Their pizza's are fire-baked sourdough crust and that Butcher & the Bee is dee-licious. That Mike's Hot Honey drizzle over sausage + pepperoni offers a sweet to the salty and the sourdough crust is crispy and chewy and has so much flavor. The hot honey is the perfect subtle sweetness topping and balances the savory saltiness of the pork so so well. (Que that song, "I just can't get enough. I just can't get enough"). Oh y'all. Their ricotta ravioli is crave-a-ble. Chef Korman knocks it out of the park with these little flavor bites. Incredibly well done. The grain bowl was a feast of flavors. And I'd order it again in a heartbeat, add grilled chicken. The vegetables tasted so fresh, and paired with that yummy romesco sauce, oh-M-gee. The chicken was perfectly tender and juicy. It's a grain bowl done two notches better than any other grain bowl I've tried. Their gem lettuce salad was perfect. So so good. The fried chicken sandwich was very good. It's a well done chicken sandwich. After trying so many of their dishes, I'd say it hasn't been my favorite thing on the lunch menu, but worth a try if it's calling your name. And the views while enjoying great food paired with excellent service don't really get any better than this. It's a special experience dining here either on the back patio or inside the main dining room. Both offer fantastic views overlooking the water flowing over the Finley River dam. It's a great date spot, for sure, but do yourself a favor and go during happy hour, it's the same great food for a lot less $$. During happy hour they offer half-price appetizers and specials on cocktails, beer, and wine. We aren't from the area, but find ourselves driving out of our way to keep coming back. We love the Ozark Mill at Finley Farms restaurant and I hope to get to go back a few times each year, it's really that special. I haven't had anything less than delicious yet on their menu. Oh! I almost forgot! Their cocktail program is on. point. Love love love the gin fizz and the old fashioned. They have some great offerings of canned/bottled beer on their menu too. I'm giving three stars, and only so high because the views are great for a restaurant in the area. Otherwise, you're eating pretentiously named and overpriced food that isn't cooked all that well, in a place that's hyped up as if it's fancy, when actually you're eating in a grungy old barn that was just a ruined mill for decades... this isn't exactly luxury. Still, they're priced as if they are--especially for the area. I just don't get it--it doesn't seem like a well fleshed out restaurant concept to me. The food is also a disappointment. For example, I just bought a $110 steak special yesterday, and frankly, I could've gotten a better tasting, higher quality steak at Outback--and for the price, I get world-class steaks during work trips at establishments like Morton's, Fleming's, Ruth's Chris, etc. And locally, Flame or Jimm's would be the better choice for such a steak. So, I feel very let down that I paid so much for such a poorly done steak--this thing had the taste and texture of a tough chuck roast cut. Additionally, they don't dry-age, which is a disappointment for a high-priced steak. And, further, they have no idea how to sear properly. Honestly, avoid paying for steak at The Ozark Mill. They have a ~$84 22-ounce bone-in ribeye on their regular menu, and for that price, if it compares to the low quality of the awful tomahawk steak I just had yesterday, well... if you order it, I'm sure you'll be as disappointed as I am. That said, the views are great. You're really paying for a view, and nothing more. Then again, you can get a similar view cooking a steak on a bbq grill at the park across the river, and odds are that steak is cheaper and tastes just as good. *caveat: I haven't had any issues with service here. Servers are nice and attentive. Though... holy cow, kitchen staff, not only do you clearly lack the necessary tools to properly cook high-priced steaks based on what you sent me, but it also took an hour for you to cook a steak... that's not awesome service. I feel bad for the server having to be the bearer of bad news about the wait--the chef probably ought to have come out to bear that burden for him. read more

Atmosphere is amazing. You are back in the late 1800s seeing the Finley River rush by. I got the fried pork - lots to eat and I just ditched eating my usual healthy meal with a salad. Uggh. Just Wow! Dined here around 4:30 on a Sunday. Nice table overlooking a river. Service was excellent. Fairly priced drinks and a nice selection of wines by the glass. We started with the Short Rib Appetizer, best ribs I ever had! The bbq sauce was delicious and I loved the peppers and pickled onions that accompanied the dish. I ordered for my entree the Grain Bowl. It had rice, quinoa, barley, carrots and a tomato sauce that really brought it all together. I would be hard pressed not to order this meal every time. The chicken sandwich was TERRIBLE! It was quite obvious that they stopped changing the oil. The sandwich was greasy with no flavor. Dessert was great. The mint crème brûlée tasted heavenly. What a lovely place. The area is more rustic that I would have though, the location feels almost country-ish. The staff was great, super friendly , and were on top of filling up waters, getting items and just being great. I came here for a group outing, and it was decent. A large room in the back was able to hold almost 100 of us. The food was different but good. The hush-puppies were good for an app. The steak was cooked MR and really good. Much better than I expected to be honest. The tomato cake thing at the end was a little different but overall I like this place. This was one of our favorite restaurants in the area, and then it wasn't. We had had many great meals here in a row, but then something happened. Not sure what, but the last few times we have gone the drinks, food and service just were not that good. Cold and sloppy food, lazily put together drinks, and servers that disappear for the majority of your meal. It's a shame because we loved it so much, but at their price point it's just not worth it to have even one, much less three bad experiences. There's no debating the quality of the food at The Ozark Mill...it's very good, exceeded only by it's sister restaurant, The Garrison. My son took my wife & I to TOM for a Father's Day celebration on the Friday before. The setting is pleasing with the remnants of the original mill and the eagerly flowing river visible from all three sections of the restaurant: The outdoor seating providing nature's sounds along with the scenery; the indoor area directly behind enjoys the view without the audio or insects; and a more "formal" segregated dining room with partial views. There was apparently some confusion in recognizing our reservation so we spend about 15 minutes being shuffled through the three dining areas. The new service person was most apologetic as we were finally seated which bothered her more than us. Service was fairly seamless the remainder of the evening, We began with some cocktails: The Blackberry Mint Moscow Mule for the wife, a Mango Mojito for my son and a glass of Pinot Noir for me. Our appetizers of both the Spinach and Salmon Dips arrived timely. All were very good, setting the stage for our entrees of Shrimp & Grits for the wife, and the Dogwood Canyon Bison Meatloaf for my son & I. My wife and son loved theirs. I enjoyed mine but I'm not sure that meatloaf was the perfect vehicle for the bison. The Garrison's Bison Tartar was far better. Too sated for dessert, my son settled the 2 bill+ tab and we departed. It was a very nice evening in a typically beautiful Ozarks riverside setting. I found the food very good but not exceptional, thus my rating. I still prefer The Garrison for it's more unique setting, menu & exceptional service, but you can't make a mistake with either. We loved this place. Didn't realize it was owned by Big Cedar until I saw my credit card statement but I should have figured. It was so cute, right on the river. The smoked salmon dip was absolute fire!!! You must get it. The risotto fritters were good too but the salmon dip was the appetizer star. At Ozark Mill you are definitely paying for the experience. While the food is pretty good; you are definitely paying top dollar to be there. The place is beautiful, and I strongly suggest going on a day you can dine outside to experience the true reason to come. Sitting outside near the small dam with the lighting and sound of water near you is very relaxing and adds so much more to your dining experience. There's also a foot bridge that's lit up, and leads to an old building they hold events at. Just the building skeleton, but this just adds to the beauty. This place really makes you feel like you are experiencing what the settlers did here in the Ozark, but with modern comfort and prices. I still highly recommend this place as a date night, and don't skip the spinach dip!!! read more

Tasty experience here! Our servers were so kind and tranquil. Had the Butcher & Bee pizza with pepperoni, Italian sausage, and hot honey. Despite the hot honey description it didn't taste spicy at all (good for me, I can't tolerate spiciness well) and the meats were succulent. The dough is consistently pillowy with crispy edges. Cleaned the whole thing up! For dessert we tried the strawberry buttermilk and white chocolate lavender ice creams. The strawberry has streaks of fresh fruit, and the WCL was like a subtle vanilla with aromatic lavender. Both an amazing consistency and did not melt fast. Of course we had to try the green tomato cake because of its uniqueness. The cake itself is nothing to write home about -- tomato gives it color but not taste, and the cake is denser than typical cake but not as moist as carrot cake. The cream cheese frosting -- favorite part! The dining room overlooks a beautiful shot of River and the bridge. There is also a strip of outdoor seating running adjacent to the large windows. OMG! Wonderful, from drinks, to appetizers, to entrees. Worth every penny. The two picky eaters shared the pasta and devoured all but two bites which my wife and I fought over despite being absolutely full. I had the pork chop with parsnips and cabbage. In truthfulness I am not a fan of cabbage but that dish changed my mind about it. Absolutely fantastic. My wife chose the salmon which was flaky and full of flavor. The appetizer, cornbread with maple and cheese, was fantastic. The cornbread was sweet as you would expect, but I was very surprised and absolutely loved how the cheese contrasted with the sweetness of the maple. Absolute perfection. When we arrived, we noticed all the people doing photo shoots and I can say I see why. The grounds were beautifully maintained and we loved walking the grounds, taking in the sites as we walked off dinner. Service was perfect. There when you needed them but did not hover. I did love the atmosphere. The exposed wood frame added to the old world charm. While the remaining mill components added a fantastic backdrop. This is a typical Johnny Morris experience. His group does hospitality well. This is a great date night spot. We were dressed casually -so was everyone else. We went on a Friday afternoon and got right in without reservations. Tried some new things off their unique menu -but after a little coaxing, tried the green tomato cake. Amazing! We went to the Ozark Mill on Thanksgiving evening this year. Honestly, it was a terrible experience. We had a difficult time making a reservation since we had 13 in our party. The only opening they had was at 7:30pm which ended up being the problem. Even though the Thanksgiving cost was $64 per person, the buffet line was mostly empty and the food bar was absolutely beat up. We know it was a long day for the service team however if the cost is the same as earlier in the day then the food offering and cleanliness should be same as well. read more

Am writing 2 reviews because each of us had very different opinions about this place. Mine is this one. Advertised on the interstate but we saw, if they were there we couldn't find anything when we got off the highway. We saw a sign pointing and we went the direction. Drove to a small town, saw nothing and turned around. As it happened we needed a restroom before continuing. We parked, when in, and coming out saw the place almost directly across from us. We had to wait as we were walk-ins, so be aware of that. We waited and wandered the building. When we were seated the server came over quickly. We ordered it took more time than is normal, but recognized it wasn't a typical 'off the interstate type place. This is her review.... She ordered the Chicken and Dumplings There was only one small and thin slice of chicken. When I put my fork into the bowl after it arrived I discovered it was only a 1/2 inch deep. There was only 1 piece of chicken. But there were only 3 pieces of dumpling. The taste was different than what I usually have when eating this but I still enjoyed the flavor. But I was still hungry, Ron was enjoying his burger so I didn't say anything. As we were driving away he asked what I thought. My answer was NEVER AGAIN. At first glance, the menu seemed to be simple and overpriced. What a difference it made for us to have our dinners served. A simple beef stroganoff turned out to be short ribs of beef with noodles and a wonderful cream sauce. The meal while simple had an elegant taste unmatched in this area. My daughter had the shrimp and grits as she described it as " over the top" This is not a usual place for dinner but a celebratory place only for special dinners.
