I was on my way into Sweet Republic just before Christmas when I spotted Painted Pretzel a few doors down. Since I love pretzels, I was imagining all sorts of delights. Hard pretzels in knots, twists, and rods covered with the finest chocolate. Freshly baked soft pretzels salted, or rolled in cinnamon and sugar, or butter and garlic. You name it. They were going to sell it. Well I was sorely disappointed. Upon entering, I realized this is probably more of a mail order type business. No soft pretzels, either. They specialize in pretzels dipped in chocolate and topped with nuts, candy pieces, etc. There were some boxes of pretzels already made up, and we purchased a few. The honey wheat pretzel rods were actually pretty good, the small bite-sized pretzels were nothing special. The chocolate was a nice quality, but not the best. Although they hand dip all the pretzels, they do not make the actual pretzels. So if you're on a local foods kick, which I'm not, this isn't the place for you. Not bad to have around the house and for gifts to pretzel lovers or corporate gifts as they are better than the products you would find in most grocery stores. I contacted the customer service department via email and to date have not received a response. They took my money and never shipped the product. This company has very poor business practices. This company has the worst customer service I've ever encountered. I purchased a gift certificate during a special online promotion for $125 and paid $50. They never let me receive the full value, only the amount paid for the certificate. Very difficult to deal with in getting a resolution. Like many others .... total scam. I ordered on-line on December 6, 2020 for Christmas gift. Never received a confirmation or any communication. I e-mailed them a number of times using the "Contact Information" posted on their website. Received response from Gmail "Delivery Status Notification" address couldn't be found or unable to receive mail. I e-mailed 4 times. Finally received a response 11 days after the order was placed: "Our online orders are currently closed this month. You were not charged and no order was processed. Thank you got visiting and we apologize for the confusion". If they were no longer accepted online orders .... wouldn't they post it on the website???? I purchased a Groupon for The Painted Pretzel 5 weeks ago then immediately made a purchase on their website for twice the value of the Groupon. After making the purchase on their website I received a confirmation email saying I would receive another email when my order shipped. After 3 weeks I had not received my pretzels or a shipping notice so I attempted to contact the company by email, they didn't reply. Over the next 2 weeks I sent 5 email and left 4 messages with their answering service that went unanswered. The person at the answering service could not explain why my messages were not being returned. In each message I provided my order number. Finally yesterday I received replies to 2 of my emails, both asked for my mailing address so they could locate my order. Apparently they were not able to locate it from the order number?!? Even beyond that, one of the emails asking for my mailing address contained my order confirmation that had my mailing address in it! I replied to both emails within minutes and provided the requested information. They did not acknowledge my reply so today I called and left another message with the answering service and sent another email. This morning I received a rude nasty reply from them saying they are cancelling my order and will not be shipping anything to me. I guess they didn't like that I expected them to actually ship the pretzels I had paid for 5 week ago! Also, their website shows they were on Shark Tank and I read that Mark Cuban invested $100K for 25% of the company. My final email to the company said I would try to contact their investor if they didn't reply. The reply I received this morning said they were not run by an investor. I'm not sure of that means Mark Cuban is no longer an investor or if it simply meant he has no role or influence.  In any event, avoid this company unless you want to be ripped off. A few minutes later... WOW! After 5 weeks not shipping my order and 2 weeks of not replying to any of my messages I just received another email reply from The Painted Pretzel. The email says they do not accept the behavior of customers like me (I guess that means customers who want to receive the orders they pay for and expect a reply to emails and voicemails). The email goes on to say that customers are not always right. ** Update 1/2/17: On December 12, after posting my Yelp review I emailed Mark Cuban; he invested $100K when The Painted Pretzel appeared on Shark Tank. He replied very quickly with an apology and said he would pass my message onto Raven (the owner), he copied a senior investment advisor in his company. The following morning I received a very polite email from Raven apologizing for the mix up with my order. She acknowledged the customer service problems said she would have some nice items sent to me as an apology. It's now been 3 weeks since that email exchange I still have not received anything from The Painted Pretzel. While I was not looking for anything for free, she shouldn't have offered if she didn't mean it. This makes it clear that the problems with this company start at the top. I did get the money I paid for my Groupon back by contacting Groupon and I also received a refund on the remaining amount that I paid via PayPal when I placed my order. read more

I've tried e-mailing them 3 times and each came back "the account you are trying to reach does not exist". There was no phone number on the sit. I tried searching for them on Google Andrea I finally was directed to a site (Pissed Customer) that is I believe is handling customers service for them. Order placed on the 7th Sept. As of the 20th, we don't know if it has shipped or not. They don't answer the phone or return messages. They do not respond to emails. They do not send you a tracking number. All you get after the order is an immediate withdrawal of your funds and an email saying here is your order number for what you ordered. No way to track that order but they send it anyways. There is no customer service what so ever. They say the hours of their business but nowhere on the website or the voicemail stating hours does it say Eastern Time, or another. I have no idea until I came here where they were located. They do not respond anyway so I guess it doesn't matter. The only reason we tried them was to give them a chance because we saw this on Shark Tank. I must agree with another reviewer that this is a scam. I placed an order for a Father's Day gift on June 6 and received an email confirmation of this with an order number on June 7. On the same day the charge posted to my credit card. It is now June 22 and the order has not been received despite me sending THREE emails to the address posted on the Painted Pretzel website, with no response. There is no phone number anywhere on their website. Without an ability to contact them, I have to assume fraud. I just finished placing a new order for my dad on Mrs. Prindables who also sells chocolate covered pretzels. They are a total scam, bought a gift card work $125 for $50..every time I try to place an order, they don't reply, and after a month of waiting and many emails later, they still didn't ship the order. Filed a complaint with BBB, then I got an email saying they will ship ASAP and as soon as the case closed because they said they will send out my shipment, that was almost a month ago, they stopped responding to my emails and still haven't received my shipment. I wish I read these reviews before I purchased my Groupon. I had a similar experience to everyone else.I ordered 2 party starters for Christmas gifts & was told they were not available.When I complained--they said they would be sent. But what they sent was NOT the party starter (39.99 value) It was the $17.99 tiny box.What a rip off! Also there was no decorative straw in the box, the pretzels were jammed in and they were not covered in M&M candies as pictured. Maybe 6 to 8 candies per pretzel. I once bought supermarket choc pretzels and they were bigger and a better quality and appearance.Supposedly they're sending me a return label & I wonder how soon and if they'll credit me correctly?I'm lucky I had the pretzels come to me first.I would have been embarrassed if the gift recipient received their lame box of pretzels before I saw it! Now it's January & the saga continues. Groupon refunded their part--but I'm STILL waiting for a return label so I can get my $18.00 shipping fee refunded. They now have no customer service, so when you call them you get an answering service who can do nothing but relay your message. Where--to the trash heap? I have called them multiple times and emailed multiple times with no reply or response. I was looking forward to purchasing a new product from the Shark Tank family but I am so very disappointed. I have been trying to get a refund from this company for 2 months after I placed an order online and simply never received the items I ordered. They have promised me a refund twice, but I still have received nothing. Not even a phone call or a sincere apology email. I did receive this email: "Hi Tiffany, Robin has been out. We apologize and will issue a refund." This was two weeks ago now (after I sent emails for almost 2 months requesting a refund) and still have not been issued a refund. I checked again before writing this review just to make sure that I still had no credit to my card. Can't speak for their food because my order was never shipped, but I can speak for their customer service and it is terrible. Maybe after writing this review someone will actually issue me a refund and maybe contact me and apologize in a real way instead of offering me a lame excuse over email that the company's owner has been out so no one could bother to respond to my email for 2 months. Terrible service. I placed my corporate gifts order through them for the holidays and their delivery was not on schedule. They scrambled to deliver the $800 worth of pretzels after we put the pressure on but it's like they are run by middle schoolers! I shouldn't have jumped on the groupon deal but I did in order to send a holiday treat to a sick friend. No sign of it a month later. Take the time to read all of the other reviews and do NOT order from this company. As noted by several others, they do not ship on time (if at all), they are quick to charge your credit card, they "lose" addresses and order details, they do NOT respond to emails or telephone messages, they never answer the phone even during their "business hours" (which are only from 10am to 5pm??) and they do not believe in customer service. I had several orders that were placed several months in advance - not only were NONE of them received, but I also found them to be completely lacking in customer service. They clearly do not think they need customers and do not know how to provide good customer service. The product is decent, but not worth the risk that you'll be charged for something that you'll never receive. Once it became apparent that my multiple orders would not be shipped I asked for a cancellation and refunds. To this date (more than 4 weeks later) they have yet to process the credit card refunds, so I was forced to dispute all of the charges with my credit card company. They clearly appear to be in over their heads and need a better infrastructure to process online orders. I will never order from them again based upon this experience. read more

I ordered pretzels on December 12th and haven't even received them. I tried calling customer service, it's just an answering service that takes your information, and says someone will call, and no one ever called. I tried emailing them, and couldn't get an email to go to them through their system. If I don't see pretzels pretty soon, I will have to contact my credit card to reverse the charge. They paint pretzels in chocolate, nuts, candy, etc. I've only been twice now, but I think I'm in love with the heath and white chocolate pretzel rods. I saw the entrepreneur on The Shark Tank and was intrigued. I've been burned before buying products "off the tank." A horrible pancake mix and wine product made me so cynical I did not even share the news that of my online purchase. Imagine my surprise that these Painted Pretzels truly dazzle and delighted my whole family. The actual pretzel tastes great which made some ask if that was sold as stand-alone minus the "painting." I bought a groupon voucher and then proceeded to order a gift for Christmas and I have yet to get it. I placed my order on December 2 and they were quick to take my money but not send me any thing. I have contacted them 3 times via email because on the site no # is listed. I would get back the same automated email stating the system crashed because of so many groupon orders and if I sent my name and address they would get the order out right away. Well here it is Christmas eve and still nothing. Finally I found a number and all she could do was basically take a message and pass it along.
