Solid brunch! I'm in Scottsdale again and am reminded that although the prices are higher, the service is better and the quality of the food has been stellar. Worth noting that yesterday's brunch was next to a bachelor party (that desperately needed my help, hope it went well gents) and today, a bachelorette party. Ahh Scottsdale.. although I believe the manager brought a free mimosa for the star which is cool. Very cool military decor surrounded us with pics of Marilyn singing to the troops and Elvis in uniform! I love the theme, and whoever designed the REMI hotel and its restaurants did a wonderful job. I went with the chicken and waffles and it was perfect top to bottom. A passion fruit mimosa?! One of the best I've had. My date had the pancakes and was equally impressed. A bit touristy? Sophie is a sweetheart! So friendly and attentive! I would have loved the roasted turkey club or tuna but they weren't available until 11. I chose the crepe-style pancakes with berries and whip cream and side of eggs, sunny side up and runny. Loved the selection of sauces at the table. A few were nearly empty though. Fancy diner with great service and food. I dined here for breakfast before checkout of the hotel. My sister and I were together and enjoyed Sophie's service. She was helpful in answering our questions, smiled while serving, and had a delightful personality. She helped to make our dining experience great. I ordered the chicken and waffle with a side of bacon. I am not a big waffle fan, but this waffle was fluffy and delicious. The chicken was fried perfectly and I liked that there were 3 chicken straps. Only thing missing was a little more salt for flavor. I enjoyed the whipped butter and syrup for the waffle. There was also sausage gravy but I didn't try any. The bacon was ok. The aesthetic of the dinner decor was retro yet modern. I loved the soft mint green color and the furniture. I was surprised to learn they're coming up on their one-year anniversary this July; they already feel like a well-established spot. The outdoor seating has a lovely atmosphere with a great view, perfect for a relaxed breakfast. Portions were generous and everything was delicious -- we ordered a scramble w/ eggs spinach and peppers which were served with fresh fruit and toast, and the frittara omelette topped with feta, greens, and peppers and tomatoes. Both were satisfying and flavorful. Prices are on the higher side, but that's to be expected for a restaurant inside the newer Marriott, which is a beautiful property. I feel like we found a gem in F/Sixteen! This Scottsdale diner has a vintage Air Force theme, but is modern at the same time. There are plenty of large booths, tables, and counter seating. Pay attention to the details--like the aqua colored vintage toaster. Our server was fantastic. He gave a rundown of suggestions, and have reasons why they would be good choices. He was very accommodating and just all around nice. They serve breakfast all day. They also have a bar and cocktails on the menu. We ordered: *Afterburner Sando served with the best skillet potatoes *F-16 Double Smash with fries *Green Chili Chicken Sandwich with fries Everything was delicious. The skillet potatoes were amazing! Even the spicy ranch I dipped my fries in was delish. The only strike is that it took quite a long time to get our food We really enjoyed eating at this place, and highly recognized it. The coffee was not what I was hoping for. I've had a lot of drip coffee and this was like Circle K coffee. Maybe I should have gotten a latte because the flavor might have been better. The flavors were flat and lacked any depth. Even with cream and sugar it didn't taste much better. We shared the biscuits and gravy and the bbq pork hashers. Biscuits and gravy- the biscuits tasted like they didn't make them fresh, like they were frozen and baked off. The hatch green chili sausage gravy had a decent consistency but only a hint of any hatch green chili, like if I didn't know it was supposed to be in it, I'd have a hard time knowing that's the flavor profile they were going for, I didn't really taste much sausage either. It comes with 2 eggs your way, I get mine over easy. The bbq pork hashers, as soon as the plate came to the table, it was not as I expected. The hash browns were not crispy. The pulled pork was really fatty. The over easy eggs were greasy. It came with onions and peppers and cheese, and pulled pork. Texturally, I did not enjoy this. Flavor wise it was only okay. Since I had tried dinner the night before at Kauboi, naturally I wanted to try breakfast at F/16! It's inside the new Remi hotel in Old Town Scottsdale. Staff were all really phenomenal, welcoming and courteous. I loved the upscale diner vibe, reminded me of Mel's drive-in. I came in with high expectations! I wanted to try one of their highly recommended Wagyu burgers, so I went with the Cali smash with a side of fries. Honestly, the burger was just ok, couldn't tell that it was Wagyu at all, lettuce was floppy, bun was mediocre and I just had a hard time finishing it. The fries were not great, limp and stale. I truly love burgers and fries, typically eating the entire meal, but was sad that this fell short. I would've much preferred having a burger at Paradise Valley Burger. Maybe some of their other menu items are better or they're still trying to work out the kinks. read more

She told us the fried chicken was freshly breaded and fried in-house, so we were sold -- even though it's almost $30 for two pieces. I was a bit disappointed when I find traces of blood when I cut into the chicken. I ordered a lemonade with a dash of vanilla cream (which I've had elsewhere), but she looked at me like I had two heads and said they didn't have cream. The omelette was really good though -- fluffy and flavorful. If the home fries were a bit crispier, it would've been perfect. The W Hotel is right next door, and we honestly weren't ready to see a naked man standing by his window but it was quite entertaining though. Also, maybe because the hotel is new, someone from the property came by mid-meal to "check in" on us -- which felt more weird and intrusive than thoughtful. read more

A real hidden gem. Located in the Remi Hotel in Old Town Scottsdale. Decorated with F 16 aircraft paraphernalia (hence the name). And cute references to Star Wars on the menu. And the menu is amazing. So many choices. It took our party of 11 forever to decide. Each item sounded better than the one above it. And everything we ordered was delicious and served with a smile. And kudos to the staff who graciously accommodated our large group on Fathers Day. Good news is that they do take reservations. We will definitely be back. 01/23/2026 My friend and I got brunch at F/Sixteen just before 11:00am on a Friday. There were plenty of tables available. The decor and colors were fun, reminiscent of an old diner but modernized. There is bar / counter-top seating, booths, and tables on the patio. The garage door that normally separates the patio was open which was great with the cool weather. We sat in a booth right by the patio. Both of us got The Big American F-16 (2 eggs, hash browns, fruit, and toast or biscuit). Instead of the toast or biscuit, we asked if we could upgrade to a pancake. The waitress went to check and confirmed it'd be a $6 upgrade. My friend got the churro pancake, and I got the bananas foster pancake. It was actually a $10 upgrade - I assume the $6 was just for a classic pancake. Both pancakes were pretty good - between the two I'd say the churro one was better. The hash browns were actually breakfast potatoes, which was fine because I really like that style of potatoes as well. It had a little kick to it from the spices. Overall the meal was great, but I thought it was bit pricey, even without the pancakes. Service was good and attentive, but it would've been nice to know ahead of time the actual cost of the specialty pancake upgrade. read more

My second meal the person behind the bar was so busy talking with another person she blew off two other customers and me for 12 min. One couple was in a hurry and couldn't get their bill. Food - first meal I ordered the turkey breakfast and got the Chorizo. My second was the Arizona breakfast. I'm kind of picky with my eggs. I over medium and they're very difficult to do for most chefs but the chefs did very very well. The breakfast was good, no complaints but the server behind the bar was way behind. I was very appreciative that the server mentioned that the pancakes come with the option of one rather than a stack to allow two people to share something sweet while getting a more filling breakfast. The breakfast burrito is a large portion great for sharing or for two meals. The Top Gun Skillet is also super delicious, although the potatoes were overly crispy. I will also note that the standard drip coffee is pretty weak. The highlight was definitely the bananas foster pancake, the theming of the restaurant, and the open garage door on a nice day. **Biggest complaint is when looking at the website they state they have a dress code with no graphic tees or athleisure and this was not enforced. Not an issue to me as it is a casual breakfast / lunch spot, I do not mind casual wear, but do not put something online you do not intend to enforce. read more

I sat down and for the next 10-15min different servers walked by without even acknowledging that I was there. I finally stopped one and asked for a menu, the server finally came back to take my order then I'm quite sure forgot to put it in since it took another 15min to get my iced tea and I continued to see people that arrived long after me getting their drinks and food. I had to stop the server and request my food to go because I was rapidly running out of time. Someone else brought my food to me, I paid my bill and went back to my hotel room only to find that there were no utensils to eat with. I was able to pick up my omelette to eat but it seriously lacked flavor and was messy to eat without utensils. I found this restaurant to be a waste of time and money. read more

A superb space inside The Remi in Old Town Scottsdale. We did encounter a couple of hiccups during our visit - I had asked for brioche bread with my meal and my plate came with regular bread instead. The other plate we had, the wrong omelette was delivered. Neither of us brought it up to anyone's attention, and I do believe that they would have corrected it promptly had we pointed it out. They're newly open and still getting up to speed (no pun intended), which is why I'm still giving them 5 stars. The food was very good and arrived quickly. The freshly-squeezed grapefruit juice was delicious. A little pricey but on par with other places in Old Town. Excellent service. It had been a while since I had received such attentive, friendly service (which is why it's easy for me to gloss over the food mix-up - that, and we had a great brunch, so no disappointment there). Marisa was welcoming, greeted us with a smile, seated us promptly, and truly was a delight the entire time we were there. I loved the decor, I loved the food, but she is the #1 reason I'm giving this 5 stars. They advertise being open for breakfast, lunch and dinner but it looks like they're closing at 4 pm - I'm not sure if this is only for their opening weeks or whether it will stay that way. I did reach out to them on social media to ask (I was initially going to come by for dinner), but it's been over 10 days and they never replied. Also, it should be the guest's prerogative what percentage they choose to tip. We were a bit put out that their minimum is 25% and automatically deducted!! We'll NOT be returning. F/Sixteen -- Great Food, Solid Service, but Missing Some Afterburner My wife and I drove downtown after reading an article about this new spot, F/Sixteen. It's a burger place that pays homage to the legendary F-16 fighter. The atmosphere was nice -- clean, with some aviation pictures on the walls. Surprisingly, not many F-16s; most of the artwork was WWII-themed. Our server was excellent -- friendly, upbeat, and genuinely enthusiastic about the restaurant. She didn't know much about F-16s, but her great attitude more than made up for that. I ordered the Smash Burger -- it was cheesy, flavorful, and cooked just right. The fries were spot-on. I washed it down with a cold Coke. My wife had the Cubano sandwich, which she said was her favorite part of the meal. Now, here's my take as someone who's been a commercial pilot my life and spent a lot of time around jets: when a restaurant is named F/Sixteen, I expect to see some F-16s. They could do a lot more to lean into the theme -- maybe hang some F-16 photos, models, or memorabilia. A couple of aviation-themed beers or a 1/3-scale F-16 model hanging from the ceiling would take this place to the next level. Overall: great food, great service, decent aviation vibe -- but they need to throttle up the F-16 presence to truly live up to the name. read more

Love the elevated diner feel from the nostalgic coffee pots to the booths. Attentive service, great food and huge portions! My husband had the banana fosters pancakes, we gasped when we saw how big the stack was! I had an omelette with candied bacon, peppers, and, cheese. Having lived in Old Town for over 40 years we have tried virtually all the restaurants in a 5-mile radius. To be honest, we tend to stay out of the hotel district due to the influx of tourists. I read about the F/sixteen diner, and since my husband works at LUKE AFB, and is around F-16 jets all day, I thought it would be a kick for him. To my disappointment the atmosphere is sorely lacking any actual fighter jet vibes. Other than a couple of walls of framed black and white photos, there is nothing to indicate the "Top Gun" culture. You can't even see the photos unless you are seated directly in front of them. Oh well, on to the food review. We went there at about 2 pm on a Sunday and it was crowded. It was the first time I ever was asked if I had reservations to what is essentially a diner. We did not but were directed to sit at the counter. I don't care for counter seats as they are right in the middle of all the preparation and staff activity. In addition, the other side of the counter is the bar, and you are literally right on top of the drink prep. The noise level in the place is too loud for conversation. Sitting adjacent to my husband, we had to lean into one another to hear what the other was saying. Service was OK but I was not sure exactly who our server was. It seemed like different people brought different dishes out to us. My husband ordered the wagyu steak and eggs and although it was good, it was highly overpriced at $35. It was literally just a small steak and two eggs. Nothing else. I ordered two eggs over medium with potatoes and bacon. The potatoes were amazing, but it was definitely because of the seasoning they used. Eggs were, well eggs. The bacon was hard and difficult to chew. I gave it to my husband. Nothing special there. Their coffee was very good. In all, we spent $80 on our meal and with the tip it came to $100. Way too much to sit at a counter. Definitely won't be back as there are so many other places in Scottsdale to try. This place will survive with the hotel clientele but needs to try harder if it wants to be a local go to. read more

A group of 5 of us had Sunday brunch here last weekend and have no plans to go again. The dining room is clean with some Air Force photos to give this diner the F16 jet theme. Very subtle so if you're looking for an obvious jet theme, you won't find it here. It was exceptionally clean though and a cute place nonetheless. I'd change the name, take down the few photos and lean on a diner theme. We had a reservation and only waited a few minutes for our table which was fine since our entire party wasn't yet there. A server was with us quickly to offer water and when that arrived we were asked about drinks. Someone ordered a cold brew which was average but not great. Someone ordered a mocha with only 1 shot instead of 2. It was very strong so we think they put both. 2 of us ordered mimosas. They're nearly $17 and they were 90% OJ. At that price I expect some transparency in my juice! They also brought 3 because the 5th person in our party ordered the mile high highball and it did not arrive. This after the server even confirmed he wanted that, not a high noon. When the mimosas arrived he commented he ordered the highball to which she apologized. He said he'll take the mimosa since it was here. She did not offer to bring his original drink and did not comp the wrong one. The food was fine. Not amazing but not bad. The pricing was acceptable given the location and being in a hotel. I requested no cheese in my omelet and it arrived with cheese. The server came by once to check on us but otherwise we never saw her until she brought the check. No offer for refills so my friend with the wrong drink had to ask another server for the drink he originally ordered. Once the check arrived she walked away before we were able to ask if it could be split. We waited 5 minutes and she did not come back. We waived down another server (again) to ask for a pen. We wrote down the dollar amount and which card to put it on. We waited another 10 minutes and we were ready to leave. We never saw her. At that point we waived down another server (yet again) and she apologized and said she wasn't sure where our original server went but she just started her shift and will be assigned our table. She was great and agreed to split it up and was right back with the cards and receipts. I wish we had her from the beginning. It may have been a bad day for our server personally (it surely wasn't busy) and the food was ok so giving 2 stars instead of 1 but since there are so many other options in the area we won't be back. read more

Went here on a whim while trying to find a place to take the visiting in-laws for breakfast. Every part of the experience was great. Parking was free and easy to find, Decor and layout were warm and inviting, food was outstanding and plentiful, all while service was knowledgeable and attentive.
