You will not find any restaurant in the Quad cities's decorated more beautiful than The Palace in East Moline! Our niece and her husband were visiting from Tennessee, so we wanted to make sure and take them to see the beautiful decorations and have lunch. There were five of us for adults and one eight-year-old. My sister and I had soup and salad bar, which was good and fresh. We both had tortilla soup and it was good also although it was hard to find anything that wasn't broth, most of the ingredients went in other people's bowls, I guess! Our niece's husband and my husband both had burger baskets. The burgers were too well done and dry. My husband wanted a chicken sandwich and they told him he couldn't get one because the chicken was thawing. My niece ordered nachos and they told her they did not have any tortilla chips so would she like them with french fries instead. Seriously? We ordered mac & cheese, which was eight dollars for the kids portion and was straight out of a craft macaroni and cheese box. No sauce at all just yellow macaroni for eight dollars. She also got a side of cottage cheese, which was an up charge of a dollar. Nine dollars for what she got and she left it because it didn't taste good. We waited 45 minutes for our food. It was slow! The waitress was very nice, but the kitchen seriously lacking on this trip. The last three times I have been there. It has been very very slow, we actually left one of those times because we could not even get waited on. I will tell you that on none of these occasions, was it busy. The day we left there were only two other customers in the restaurant. I love the palace, their pizza is good, I keep giving them try after try but it is always slow getting your meal. The decorations are beautiful though. I am sure we will give them another try at some point, it is a beautiful restaurant. read more

We arrived at 5:30. It is now 7:38 and we were served one drink. And no food. What we originally ordered at 6 we found out at 7 that they were out of what we ordered. I would not recommend this to my worst enemy. read more

We ordered Nachos with beef/taco meat. The meat was over cooked to dry and black! The corn chips were also over cooked to a very dark brown! Wait staff was okay and the building inside and out was gorgeous! Beautiful woodwork and mosaic tile floors, very clean. read more

Myself and 3 coworkers came here on our hour and 10 minute lunch break. We ordered right away. Customers who arrived after us received their food before us and our food wasn't ready until 45 minutes later. We told the waitress to just box it up. We didn't order anything complicated. 3 of us ordered the daily special and 1 ordered an Italian beef. The food was also okay. Nothing to rave over. I could've gotten a frozen catfish fillet and frozen vegetables from the store and air fried it faster. The quality of food is literally that of a frozen dinner. Service was mediocre. They remodeled the place and it looks really nice. I ended up getting the calzone and it was all fine and dandy until I got to the middle. They use ricotta cheese in their calzones. Was kind of disappointed in that. Everyone else at the table enjoyed their meal however. Perhaps I'll update next time and get something else. Wow! I had never been here before the remodel, so I don't know what it was like before. That said, it's very classy looking, plenty bright, and welcoming. The drinks were fantastic. They struck and great balance of alcohol content with flavor. The French onion burger was divine. The onions were so perfectly sweet. The calzone was delicious as well, made with some of the best dough I've had in the QC. We're big fans now and will be regulars for sure. read more

Waited 1 hour 45min for a pizza I was told would be 15min and didn't even get a specialty pizza like I ordered. ALSO the pizza was missing a solid 4 inches and shaped like a football. Place has really gone downhill drastically, wasn't even busy just poorly managed. read more

I went to The Palace Tavern for an evening dinner and drinks. It was seat yourself, so I sat there 20 minutes without even being acknowledged by one of the waiters. The 3 waiters on staff were being very attentive to the other tables, except mine. I was completely ignored, as they walked past my table several times. I got up and left to Jennie's Boxcar. Amazing food, 100%. Worst person you've ever met in your lifetime to order from is the managing bartender, Brittany. I've never met a person who despised their own existnece in any and all facets of working in the service industry. I've been "shooed" away from the bar with several friends at 11:00 pm on a weekend, when the bar is allegedly open until 2. Tonight, I had the audacity to try and order over the phone using an outdated menu that was found online. What would the chances be that I get to order from Brittany herself!? I was immediately met with disdain for even calling and for even bothering her during her working hours. From there, it did not get better. I was abrubtly interrupted as a sign of deterrance that the MINIMUM wait time for any order would be at least 45 minutes - it turned out to be 25 minutes. All I wanted to do was take my "to-go" order back to a bar where they appreciated their patrons - like the Whiskey Stop, and have a meal with friends. People, when I say that the food is good, I promise that it is incredbily greate. When I tell you that your entire experience at this location will be ruined by a single person; I full heartedly challenge you to fine your own experience there. Take the family. Take the kids. Invite the inlaws. Ask for separate checks. Don't combine drink orders. And watch the meltdown go from that point. Enjoy your meals everyone! read more

Server Addie was great. Unfortunately, we waited over an hour for our food and it came out cold. The mashed potatoes were literally in a ramakan right out of the fridge. Very disappointing. Server brought the manager over and well, so much for the "customer is always right". Manager offered a discount however it was hard fought. Sorry Addie. You're great but we won't be back. read more

We carried out two pizzas from this newly revived historic bar. We had a medium cheese and large sausage/pepperoni. The crust was a crispy mix between thin and thick. The toppings were plentiful, and sauce was sufficient. The price was reasonable, and we can't wait to go again - next time we'll have a beverage at the vintage bar! read more

Just left the palace, not happy. Won't be going back. The waitress asked what side I wanted, not sure why because I asked for home made chips, she brought me coleslaw, which tasted rancid. She couldn't wait to clear the table, including our water glasses, after the 3rd time she brushed up against me and apologized for her reach were decided it was time to go. Very disappointed. An automatic gratuity of 20%... no go, 42 dollars for 2 meals and water. read more
