I'll start with saying that the staff was very friendly at this location. Both of them were younger girls and they were very happy and overall I was very pleased with the service. I usually order a strawberries and cream paleta when I come but this time they had a gold bar option and I just had to try it. I got it with strawberries and a half dip in milk chocolate. The paleta it's self was fantastic. Probably a new favorite flavor. I really enjoyed the chunk of chocolate at the very end as well. Such a perfect combination of peanut butter and chocolate. I felt like a kid in a candy story at this place. I had heard of paleta bars before but I never visited a store front until now. This location is located near the base of the Sandia hillside, so the view outside is gorgeous. The young man helping me was kind, offered plenty of suggestions, and laughed with me the entire time that I gawked over my order. My white chocolate dipped, oreo crumble covered, dark chocolate drizzled strawberry cream cheese paleta took me back too many years, with just the right amount of sweetness and entirely all the goodness. I always love paletas and am a huge fan of this NM-based paleta bar chain. The ingredients are always fresh with a lot of selection..and the staff has been polite and welcoming across all locations I have been to. One day I found myself slightly early for my appointment, I dropped in this paleta bar location out of whim and tried the NM United paleta bar (banana, cookies & cream crumb, dark chocolate bits and chili powder. I had it half dipped in dark chocolate and coated with pinons and pistachios. The fruits that I picked (strawberries and mangoes) were fresh, too...and having it as a treat towards the end of the day...really made my day special! It's not just an icecream..but luxury dessert treat for myself for sure! Stop by if you have time. I like that this location has plenty of parking spots that they share within the plaza. I've taken some time to really decide if I wanna doc a star from this AMAZING establishment. I la la la la LOVE The Paleta Ba. I tend to go to the one off San Pedro behind the Coronado Mall. Let me be clear: I would use the Paleta Bar for my wedding. This new location is BEAUTIFUL. It is clean. There are CLEAR rules to make sure COVID transmission is decreased. All the staff are wearing masks, gloves, and there are clear signs on the door and floor. The garb (clothing) section is cute. The huge Paleta decor is cute and lets you know what you're getting into. This was the first time I got a gallon of Aqua Fresca. YES! They sell by the gallon-- which is good because they use to have the yearly cups that you could refill at a discount, but due to COVID bringing cups into a store is not safe. So, this is a perfect middle-ground: and for $6-- HOOK ME UP!! The staff is kind. Knowledgeable. Patient. All while being professional. They helped me download the "Clover" app so that I could gather my points because I'm a frequent flyer. 10/10 this is an amazing spot!! However, there is a noticeable difference in the size of Paleta's here than I'm use to. Same price, but there is 1/4th of the normal Paleta missing. It is shaped like a "V" verses being the normal "u" shape. I don't know if they are using a different mold or if this is due to COVID and they needed to do something cost-efficient, but it's noticeable and for that I will probably continue to go to my trusted alternative location. This is where the star is docked. But not to leave on a bad note, I do want to disclose: I tired something different here. I did an avocado Paleta with 1/2 dip dark chocolate and piñon, and the bf got a Gold Bar with milk chocolate with piñon and they rocked!!! They literally put full on avocado in the Paleta. I'm not a fan of taking photos of food that I've bitten but you need to see this! Regardless of the bar being smaller, I do highly recommend The Paleta Bar!! Nice to have a special dessert shop on the east side of town! I've been to a Paleta Bar before. It was located in Uptown Mall. So I basically knew I'd like it before I even went. This location is a little simpler than the Uptown location. For example, it offers Aguas Frescas in several fruit flavors, but no coffee drinks. The paletas arranged in a glass case were beautifully displayed. It was hard to choose a flavor. After a lot of consideration, I decided to go with the hazelnut paleta. I was close to choosing the strawberry. Next time. There were three choices of chocolate for dipping: dark, milk, or white. Also, you can go for the full dip or half dip. The full dip is about 60 cents more. Two toppings were included in the price. I did a full dip of dark with pecans and M&Ms. It was really good! The price was $4.59 which I thought was reasonable since a fast-food milkshake is about the same. Plus, the paleta is custom-made to your liking. The store was very clean and there were Xs on the floor for social distancing. I'll definitely go back when I want a special treat. read more

He half dipped it in dark chocolate then rolled it in peanuts and added sliced banana with dark chocolate drizzled on top!! Sooo good!!! Best combo. As I was ordering our paletas, the older woman working (who I've never seen at this location before) was yelling aggressively at the younger female employee. Wowza! We swung by this new food center to try the various businesses and this was a stand-out! A gentleman greeted us right away and explained the concept. For those who do not know what a paleta is, it's a popsicle or creamsicle (example flavors range from lime - super green, watermelon, mango, to peach iced tea, chai, coffee, hazelnut, peanut butter cream). Then you get to dress it up. In this case you get to choose from white, milk or dark chocolate into which your paleta of choice is dipped (full or half) and then while the chocolate is still not frozen they dip it into your choice of topping (nuts, sprinkles, froot loops, crunched up Oreos, etc). You can also have some fruit with it. So paletas as the big thing in the paleta bar, but there are also some non-frozen options like a fruit cup that you can get with seasoning (Tajin is the most popular one, but it can be spicy for those not used to eating chiles 3-4 times a day). They have "sampler" paletas that are basically overflow from making custom paletas for parties ( so yeah you ca. custom order some for your next party). These are about half the size (or maybe one third the size of the big ones) but perfect for small kids or adults that just want a small one. read more

The service at all the locations is always immaculate. The staff here was incredibly friendly and helpful. The employee told us that it was his first day on the job and he was incredibly helpful.
