Just so personal and caring staff! They treat me with kindness and my puppy with love! She is always safely hanging out in the main groomers area (not in a cage) and there are 2 safety gates so she can't get escape to main door. Thank you ladies! I was in Chico for my granddaughter first birthday. First hour at the airbnb my two dogs found something dead and rolled in it! They smelled like s$&@! I called this place and they were able to squeeze us in. When I picked my dogs up, they were not kenneled, they were lying together calm and happy. Walking in, the dogs were all Clearly visible as were the staff. They were are friendly too. My dog looked better than he ever has being groomed. They had to wash him 3x to get the stench out. They cut him perfectly, clean up his paws and nails, which he usually doesn't let people do. We were so Impressed I'm calling to get my other dog in asap because I felt they cared for my babies and made they smell Great and look great. Please go check them out. Ps the collars stunk too and the staff member helped me take the dogs to truck because we didn't want the stinky collar on my fresh clean day dogs.

We have gone twice and my dog always looks amazing after. They cut his toes shape which looks great and the shampoo and face scrub they use smells great and last for a while. Everyone was very welcoming and took care of him while he was there. I would definitely recommend going for the quality of the service.

I have a 1yr old shitzhu and spent months trying to groom her, took her to pet smart only for them to call me back an hour later because she was too anxious. All pet smart did was gave her a bath, didn't even blow dry her, she came back home wet. Finally found a place I trust and got amazing results. They took care of my girl Kona immediately as a walk in and did a fantastic job on her black nails!! We were out in 10 minutes maybe less. Pricing very fair , leaves room for a nice tip! Bonus in that they are so close to home too

After taking my 6lb Shit Tzu for his first haircit and bring extremely satisfied with the outcome, I schedules one of my daughter 2 yr old Labordoodle for her first hair, it took over 3 hrs, and I couldn't be any more please with the outcome. Jillian is amazing! My labradoodle is skiddish and can't be kenneled and her shop is set up to accommodate for that. He goes willingly now because he gets to socialize with other dogs too. The quality of the grooming is top notch, beyond expectations. read more

I almost don't want to review because I don't want more people to know about this place! But I have to because they are the SWEETEST people and the best groomers in the area. What a gem! I moved from Southern California with my Pomeranian and we tried several groomers in Chico (which left my pup with terrible haircuts) before finding pampered pooch. The people at pampered pooch really really! care about your baby and they know what they're doing. If you have a Pom you definitely have to check them out, but I know they do great with any coat style. Amazing service and attention to detail, plus going the extra mile to make the pups feel comfortable and loved. I will be going to pampered pooch for the rest of my time in Chico. I just got back from a nail trim for my Olde English Bulldogge and I am so pleased. They were so friendly and kind...and the service was done in a flash. They greeted us at the door, took Melvin into get get his nail trim, and had him out to my car in less than 10 minutes. We'll be back! read more

Jillian is the BEST! I live in the Bay Area but I lived in Chico for 6 years before moving here. Anywho covid hit and I couldn't get an appointment in the Bay Area for monthssss. Having a Maltepoo she gets very matted if not properly groomed regularly. Precovid I took her to a '5 star' groomer 10 mins from my home and they nicked her, I get it she's difficult but they didn't tell me when I picked her up! When covid hit and I couldn't get an appointment in the bay for ever I decided to take a trip to a friends for the weekend and get Biscuit groomed. Looked all over yelp and decided to call Pampered Pooch. Jillian was busy but called me back within a few hours and BAM my baby had an appointment the next weekend! By now I've taken Biscuit to Jillian twice and the first time I picked her up I could see through the window my baby being cradled on the floor happy as can be. But is that my baby?! When I tell you she's never looked better I mean it, I picked up a whole new dog. Also the price of this amazing grooming so mf reasonable! I mean living in the bay everything is more expensive but damn. Also my baby takes an anti-anxiety pill an hour before grooming or vet appointments and Jillian is seriously working with Biscuit and I to get her comfortable enough to not need the pills. Fur momma love! Overall I see myself coming up to Chico every 8 weeks or so for the for seeable future. This last trip my mother and I made a day trip of it dropped baby off (a bit early because with a 2.5 hr drive did not want to be late) went to winco, had lunch, got baby, did a bit more shopping and was home in our beds that night. I love Jillian 15/10 would recommend to any friend or family member! read more

I AM SOOOOOO HAPPY I FOUND JILLIAN...!!! Even my fur-baby Puccini was so relaxed knowing that Jillian is once again her groomer. If you haven't called for an appointment stop waiting around YOU WILL never find another caring groomer as Jillian. We've been with Jillian for years since we moved up here from San Diego and like a hairdresser you can be picky and when you finally find someone you like you don't leave... which is how the grooming relationship came to be. Jillian is so precise in her skills. Takes time with your fur-baby..listening to what you like.. what your thoughts are and, advising on the quality of the desired look for your dog... I have always had confidence and love how my dog looks when it's time to get her. Jillian never rushes... Less than a week later we realized that it was time. We called CCAH and set up an appointment. They got us in that day. We entered the room and there were some nice candles and music playing. The staff were all fantastic. Dr. Bettencourt took our girl back to get an IV in and to sedate her. He came back carrying her in his arms and gently laid her down on the table. She was in no pain. They gave us all the time we needed and then injected her. She went quietly and quickly. We were given all the time we needed after she was gone and then we left. We were given the options of what to do with her body and made our choice. So sad for us but she is not in pain now. (This time was in stark contrast to another time with another vet that didn't us sedation. Our dog ran around until she died. Not a pretty sight.) Her approach was always transparent and ethical. She always responds quickly and is generous with her time. Even though she now has a practice in Chico, she remains willing to consult with me regarding my dogs whenever I have concerns. Given the opportunity, I would gladly have her caring for my dogs again.

This is long, but please read if you are considering using this vet I usually don't write negative…read morereviews because our town is small and I understand that one person's experience isn't always indicative of the quality of a business. However, it's been eating at me for months and it's not just a customer service/bedside manner issue but a safety issue. About a year ago my dog needed a dental cleaning. Dr Crowson advised extra testing prior to surgery and we paid well over 2K to have her teeth cleaned. The day before the surgery we picked up a pill to give her that night. We noticed the bottle said weight "25Kg" not "25lb" and worried that it was going to overdose her. We asked and the doctor assured us that it was just a clerical error and not to worry. The day of the surgery he called to say that they had accidentally overdosed my dog on NSAIDs while under sedation so they had to pull her out of anesthesia prematurely and the cleaning/extraxctions were not complete. Obviously they had not corrected the error and still had her in the system at 25 kg which would put her at 55lb. Dr C called poison control and was given instructions on how to proceed which included coming in every couple of days for blood tests and administering medications at home several times a day for the next couple of weeks. (for people like me who are unaware, NSAIDs can kill your dog, don't leave ibuprofen out.) I was told that we would address the cleaning issue at a later date when she had had time to recover. 3 months later I brought her in for what I thought was an ear infection. I asked during this appointment if we had a plan yet to finish he cleaning/extractions and Dr crowson got visibly irritated and told me I needed to be patient while he "came up with a plan". 3 months later I have my cat in for an appt with Dr. Hazanow who tells me my cat needs a teeth cleaning. I explain my hesitance due to a traumatic experience. She claims to not know about it and goes to look up the records and tells me someone will get back to me. I receive a call from the office staff a month later saying they want to schedule the remaining work. I asked for a written quote of what I would be expected to pay. I do not hear back from anyone so I email Dr. Crowson. He says he will get back to me. I get another call from the office to schedule.I, again, ask for an estimate in writing. I get an email a week later from Dr C citing "some mix up" and says he will get back to me shortly. I follow up a few days later with office staff and am told they have no information. The next day I get a voicemail saying that Dr. Crowson no longer works there. (He now works at Morningside, just FYI) I then take my dog back for another appt with Dr. Hazanow who tells me my dog's teeth need to be cleaned. I remind her of the situation. She proceeds to blame me for waiting a year to take care of it and says that I will be responsible for the entire bill once again. They even drew blood while giving my dog her vaccinations without approval and put it on my bill ($150.00) for pre surgery testing without even asking if I approved of the charge or wanted to move forward with the cleaning. I was patient through this entire ordeal, believing that they would follow through and do the right thing. I told her that I didn't believe I should pay for the whole thing twice (I paid for extra anesthesia the first time but extractions were not completed due to overdose.). She told me that because my dog did not die and was still drinking water regularly that they weren't liable for anything (no harm no foul, basically).I had noted her poor bedside manner at other appointments with my cat and dog (very passive aggressive and judgy) but could not believe she would try to blame the client for their error. We are considering filing a small claims case but I figured the least I can do is let other people know about our experience. I'm sure there will be a response to this trying to explain it away, but I do have emails and voicemails and written documentation of the entire situation.

These guys are very loving with pets bought their way, the only thing that has not matched up to their heart for animals is that they don't keep their posted company hours, nor if opened, they don't answer their phone. I have taken my dog there on more than one occasion during their scheduled business day, only to find that they were closed. Also, even as they have their operation hours posted, they close down earlier if they consider a dog they are working on, their last dog of the day. So if a potential customer sees what their posted business days/hours are, they will make it an effort to get there during those times and hours, and if they are closed thats false advertisement. Why post days and times of business hours, if your not going to follow these types of promises to the client.. Say someone travels a ways to just get their dogs nails trimmed ( No appointment needed), because they love the service, only to find the business closed when posted otherwise is very disappointing. If answering the phone is a problem, while handling pets, just get a headset so it automatically is answered on your headset, so theres no having to pull your hand away from what you are doing, as theres always ways to adjust to the environment, so customer satisfaction doesn't wane away, as communication with customers is key. I honestly hope they get that running a business requires commitment, and stability for the customer, and if they can't be there to run it, then they need to have back-up to keep their customer satisfaction and name in good standing, other than this type of frustration, they are great with dogs. read more
