The Caesar salad was one of the best I've ever had, and as a girlie who doesn't usually love soup, I have to say the corn soup my husband ordered was delicious bursting with flavor and perfectly creamy. My husband chose the burger with truffle fries, and they absolutely nailed it. The bacon jam, arugula, goat cheese aioli... every bite was incredible, and the fries were amazing. I had the steak with scalloped potatoes and carrots, and as someone who typically likes her meat well done, I can honestly say this steak was excellent. Dessert was mouthwatering and packed with flavor. The pricing was also very reasonable for the quality of food and exceptional service we received. We visited on Saturday, the day before Father's Day and two days before my birthday. Not only did they personalize my dessert with a birthday message, but they also surprised me with a birthday card signed by the team. Then, just five days later, a handwritten thank-you card and birthday wishes arrived at my home. That is the kind of service that leaves a lasting impression. Had lunch as well there and food was really good. There were 4 of us buying wine both reds and whites. Somehow our order got a bit mixed up and we accidentally got a case of red in place of white wine. I called office today and they went above and beyond to get that case of wine delivered to our home asap. Cannot beat that for service anywhere. Drytown Cellars is part of the historic Vaira Cattle Ranch homestead, and the tasting room has a really relaxed, down-to-earth feel. Service: Friendly and warm Parking: Plenty of free parking right on the property Restroom: Clean and decent The wines: They focus on Sierra Foothill grapes, especially bold Amador County varietals like Zinfandel, Barbera, Sangiovese, and Petite Sirah. I enjoyed the selection and liked that they showcase the local wine region. Ambience: Rustic, casual, and definitely not pretentious. There's a large communal table that can seat up to 20 people, plus a cozy bar area. The walls are covered with award ribbons from winemaker Allen Kreutzer, which is a fun touch. The tasting fee is only $10, and it's refundable with a 2-bottle purchase, which makes this a very affordable stop compared with some of the bigger wine regions. The staff and owner were welcoming and made the experience feel more like visiting a local winery than a commercial tasting room. My only criticism is that some areas of the tasting room look a little rundown, and the décor could use some updating.
