Psst want to know a secret? Are you waiting in line for breakfast at one of Wenatchee's non chain locations. Are you wishing for a place you can walk in, be seated and have a great meal? I have just the place. ( until the word gets out ) Head for the Paradise Restaurant. My wife and I have been here 4 times now 3 for breakfast and once for lunch. Each time the food has been outstanding. The thing that the food here has is that it is cooked by someone that really cares about what they are cooking. This really shows up in the look and taste of the food. The menu is kind of confusing as it is a mix of hispanic and american diner food. Don't let this scare you, embrace it. Having the classic bacon and eggs breakfast have some of the hand made tortillas ( they are outstanding) with it. The service that we have gotten here has been very good. You won't go broke and will not go away hungry, if you do it will be of your own doing, and hey that would be silly. Would I tell you wrong? Con's just one. The Zamfir inspired music. Our party came in around 2 in the afternoon on a snowy Saturday and were not disappointed by the fare. Excellent homemade food! They even make their own cheese! The nacho chips were so fresh and had a very pleasing flavor. The owners (Maria & Alfonzo) were such gracious hosts, they made us feel very welcome. I had the just a basic chicken wrap and a cup of homemade clam chowder, they were delicious. My relatives tended to prefer food of a more mexican bent, and enjoyed their meals immensely. My cousin, who doesn't like black beans, liked THESE black beans. My uncle, who can be such a curmudgeon when it comes to dining out, personally thanked me for suggesting we eat here, and that he definitely planned to frequent this establishment more often in the future. We were originally attracted to this place based on the good reviews they had received on the internet, plus a double thumbs up from a good friend of my mother's who told us that their huevos rancheros were the best she had ever eaten. read more

Came in on a whim while having my chipped windshield repaired. I was the only customer on a Wednesday morning, was met with a smile, seated and asked if I wanted to drink anything besides water. I ordered coffee, the chicken fried steak, hasbrowns and eggs over medium with sourdough bread. Waitress was attentive, food came to me hot and everything was perfectly cooked. No gristle in the steak, very respectable amount of hasbrowns (they did not skimp) and hearty eggs, heck there was even a fresh orange slice and a piece of kale presented on the plate. The food was very very good as was the service and the establishment is clean and comfortable with an interesting selection of music. My only knock and reasons for not giving 5 stars are the steak was a bit on the small side (I wanted more!), no jam/jelly for the toast and the bill was a bit $$. I will return to support this local restaurant. read more

We just came in for a quick bite and drink before a movie. While they only had beer or wine, my Blue Moon was well presented with a large fresh orange slice and a chilled glass, which was nice. We got onion rings (hand breaded) but before we were offered some yummy toasted bread and carrot and celery slices. Yum! It also happened to be their one year anniversary and we could have a slice of fresh pie- so nice! The waiter was attentive. The atmosphere is cute and clean with an eclectic variety of music playing. The staff is pleasant and the prices so so. The food was not good. The meat was paper thin and leathery with very little seasoning and no flavor at all. The only condiment on the table was Tabasco; no salsa and no Mexican sauce. If you like to start your meal with chips and salsa...sorry, there aren't any. The servings are fairly small, but that's ok because cutting and chewing the leathery meat takes a lot of time and energy. Sorry guys, it was not good. read more

We were vacationing near Wenatchee and stopped in for lunch. This restaurant is only about 8 months old according to the owners, Maria and Alfonso, but WOW! It is amazing! Right now it's just Maria, Alfonso and their two teen sons running the show, but the do it with excellence. I had to ask to meet the owners to congratulate them on what a wonderful job they are doing. If you want tortillas and refried beans that take you home to Central America, this is the place to go. My husband is Honduran and we both agreed that we have never had tortillas as good as the ones Maria makes anywhere is the US. They are obviously made by hand and are so good. I could have just ordered tortillas and still given them 5 stars. I had Dulce Mole Oaxacueña and Jamaica. We also tried the orchata and tamarindo which were also delicious. If you want authentic "homemade" Mexican food like your mom would make, this is the place to go. Simply delicious! My only regret is not trying one of her homemade pies! We will definitely be back next time we head over the mountains to Wenatchee. read more

Ended up here by mistake, but instead of leaving ordered an appetizer and fruit for my son. I was a little disappointed that only beer and wine was served, but I'm from Arizona and this is an unusual thing for me and still forget I need to check for a full bar. Salsa was decent -again from Arizona so expectations are a bit different, black bean dip was good with their home made cheese that is similar to cotija. Fruit was so fresh and good! Also started us with complimentary veggies ranch and toast which was awesome because I found out my 2 year old loves carrots! only giving 4 stars cause I didn't eat a full meal. Mauricio was our server and the service was excellent and I'm critical because in a server. The food at the Paradise Restaurant is very tasty! I've been there five times and I've tried many different meals and enjoyed them all. I started out with the Principal's Special since the co-owner is an elementary principal. It was scrumptious sliced thin steak with flavorful rice and beans. I also had prawns that were very large and savory. Tonight I had a mushroom cheeseburger that was juicy and very fit with tomatoes, lettuce and pickles . The french fries are the best in Wenatchee because they're very savory and seasoned. What I love the most though are the pies! I've had triple berry and also mocha pie. I like mocha the best because it tastes like creamy coffee that is very light and fluffy. I would recommend The Paradise Restaurant for a variety of foods and all with fresh meats and vegetables every day. Appetizers are always given as complementary such as sliced vegetables, garlic toast, or chips with homemade salsa. This family run business is the best! read more

Our goto Sunday breakfast spot. This is a local family run place with great food, especially the pies! Mom is usually in the kitchen and the kids work the floor when they are not in school. We had dinner here last night based on a recommendation. So glad we did! It was late for the restaurant-we came in at 7:00 and they close at 8:00. The place was empty. I write this recommendation in the hopes that people will read it and give The Paradise a try. It's clean and quiet and offers homemade Mexican based fare with some "American" options for those not in the mood for ethnic cuisine. We met a friend for dinner and had the following: Chicken Mole, Shrimp with Mushrooms and Pork Adobada. Each dish came with its own side of two of the most delicious homemade, fresh-off-the-press corn tortillas, fresh rice and homemade black beans. Everything was absolutely delicious, but I have to say the real star of the three was the Chicken Mole. Utterly fantastic. Hubby and friend had pie afterwards and said both were delicious as well. It saddens me to see a restaurant of this quality empty on a Saturday night. It should be bustling with customers clambering to eat this caliber of food for very fair prices accompanied by great friendly service. Give it a try--you won't be sorry you did! read more

If you go here thinking that it is a traditional or chain Mexican restaurant then you may be disappointed. They have a variety of different foods: gyros, hamburgers, authentic Mexican from the owner's region of Mexico, crepes, etc. We have been there twice now and have been pleased with our meals and service. The meals are homemade and made to order. So, it does take a bit of time for the order to come. They do have homemade chips and salsa, but you have to ask for them because it is not a "Mexican" restaurant like La Fuente. It is a restaurant that has Mexican food. I'm sure that if you went to places like McGlinn's, Le Molo, or Wild Huckleberry for example, you wouldn't be disappointed that they did not just bring you chips and salsa. If anything, if they just brought out Chips and Salsa you would wonder why they did it without you asking for them. The restaurant is cute and there are pictures up from around their home village in Mexico. We rather enjoyed the variety of music. This is a new restaurant in town and the owners are trying to figure out what the public wants and are open to suggestions. Our son asked if they had Jarrritos the last time we went and they did not. The second time the waiter remembered us and let our son know that they now had Jarritos if he would like one. We thought that the prices were reflective of a typical restaurant in the Valley. We had just the right amount of food, with a little left over. Also, the presentation of the food has been very nice. I would also like to comment that the meat in one of the Mexican dishes is similar to carne asada and was no different than any other "authentic" Mexican restaurant we have been to in town. read more

I enjoyed another wonderful meal at The Paradise. The restaurant staff is always friendly and provides excellent service. My family and I really enjoyed our meals--steak fajitas, shrimp and mushrooms, and grilled chicken breast. The cook accommodated our diet/allergy requests with changes requested! Chips and salsa are freshly made. Delicious homemade corn tortillas. Yummy pie! I have eaten several different meals there from soup and sandwich, to salads, to hot lunches and dinners, and I have enjoyed every one to the last bite. This restaurant is a find! There are so many Mexican restaurants in Wenatchee and East Wenatchee--but this is the best by far. We could tell the entrees we ordered were made with fresh ingredients. Rice was fluffy. Corn tortillas hand made. Beans weren't soupy refried--they were black beans. I previously went with a girlfriend. When I pulled up today with my husband--he was skeptical. The salad was very fresh and attractive, broccoli and salmon cooked just right. Nothing seemed over priced. You had a choice of blackened or regular salmon. Our family ate there for lunch. The food was superb. All fresh and tasted great. The prices were reasonable and the portions just right (3 adult men and one woman).
