I came here with a group of eight to celebrate a friend's milestone birthday. We had reservations for a Saturday evening, which was good because we heard other people being told there was a two hour wait. I loved the old school supper club vibes -- low lighting, dark wood interior. Our server left a bit to be desired. She wasn't particularly engaged or helpful, and I had to ask her if I could provide my allergen information when placing our order because she didn't ask. I also had to ask for my horseradish sauce that I ordered when my entree arrived. I ordered my prime rib medium rare and it was more on the rare side, but not so much that I sent it back. There is a ton of food with each entree -- salad, sides, rolls. I loved the dill ranch dressing on the salad and would have taken a bottle of that to go. Server was agreeable about splitting the check a few ways, which was helpful. Overall, I can see the appeal as a Dayton institution, but this wouldn't be my first choice for a dinner out if I'm back in the area. read more

Well....I WISH I'd have been able to visit the Paragon Supper Club. Unfortunately, their SERVICE is sorely lacking. Darling wifey & I recently celebrated our 30th wedding anniversary. We've eaten at the Pine Club, the Oakwood Club, and when our son asked where we'd like to try, we told him "Paragon." So.....he contacted them (from his home in Washington, DC), and asked if he could purchase a gift certificate as an anniversary gift. Paragon's response exemplified customer disservice. The employee with whom he spoke told him "they only do gift certificates in person." Riiiiiight.... :-( [I'm channeling Shelley Berman's skit "The Morning After the Night Before]. When he asked if he might just give Paragon his credit card info to charge our anniversary dinner against, he was told "call earlier on a weekday to see if they could do that." NOPE NOPE NOPE. Instead, he EASILY obtained a gift certificate for us to the Oakwood Club, which we received via email last night. I guess we're returning to the Oakwood Club, where true customer service is provided. read more

We waited at the door to be the second guests seated. There was a really long line and we noticed almost right after being seated that the dinning area was filling up fast. Our server Chris was so wonderful, he literally felt like a "friend". Talking to him was easy and he really helped us with our selections. I told Chris I was going to order my usual ribeye but the bison ribeye caught my eye. He said the bison ribeye is incredibly popular and always sells out. I asked him if it's fatty and he said it's "a leaner meat". I told Chris I love and need fat but I couldn't pass up the bison ribeye so I ordered that. The restaurant is nice and dark. It gives this classic elegant feel. When Chris brought it out he told me he asked the cook to pick out a fatty piece. That bison ribeye...is the most amazing meat I have ever had. My husband agreed. This was so flavorful and tender and juicy while also having a good amount of fat and char...W O W. My hubby got the twin bacon wrapped filets with scallops. Those were also very tender and well cooked, really good flavor! The scallops were big and meaty. I think my husband has also discovered they make the best old fashioned. read more

The food for the most part is OK. I start with the shrimp cocktail appetizer and I was disappointed at how small they were and not very tasty. The horseradish did not have the zest you expect. I ordered the surf and turf which featured a fillet and lobster tail. The fly was good however the lobster tail was unusually small and not very well cooked. I was very surprised with my experience because many people regard this place as one of the top restaurants in the Dayton area. I beg to differ. Our server didn't help the experience much as she lacked personality. I hate to give negative reviews but I really have to be honest. Enjoyed a wonderful dinner on Saturday night with two family members at the Paragon in Centerville. My Mom had a craving for prime rib, heard they had great prime rib, well she enjoyed every bite & my Aunt ordered the same thing, note huge portions. We enjoyed drinks before our meal at the bar before dinner, great service from our waiter Chris at the dinner table. This 5 star gem is definitely a must try!! we had the bone in ribeye steak and the 32 ounce tomahawk steak absolutely mind blowing! Our kids thought the tomahawk bone was a dinosaur. Lol!!! My first visit to the Paragon supper club while visiting family in the area. We have a very special evening at this beautiful restaurant. The atmosphere is sophisticated, welcoming and relaxing. There was a live music as well. The hostess staff were friendly and we were seated right away, even being 20 min early for our reservation. Our server was fun and attentive. Paragon has been a long time fav for me. When they are on their game, as they were tonight, the steak was as good as it gets. A slight char on the filet as I requested was very tasty. The only negative is that the shrimp cocktail, while still good, was not really up to the level of years past. Service was spot on thanks to Amy who was there when we needed her but not intrusive. Another really solid choice for a nice meal. We can't afford to come regularly but mainly come for celebrations like birthdays, anniversary ect. Love the escargot... and dipping the bread in the yummy garlic butter. Our entree came with salad and 2 sides. It was way too much food and i suggested next time we share a meal. My lobster tails were small but had perfect taste and texture.. there were 4 of them which was too much. Hubby loved his filet and it was perfect texture... he ordered medium and it was medium plus but he was satisfied. My salad was drowned in dressing so couldnt eat it which was disappointing. But we left full and it was more than we could eat. This is expensive but if you did share the meal it would be quite reasonable. Literally the best filet mignon I've ever had. Perfectly cooked every time. Cuts easily and melts like butter in your mouth. The prices are reasonable for what you get. We went out for a holiday dinner with friends. This establishment was GORGEOUS!! Beautiful decor in red and gold. So lovely. Our server was Courtney and she was nice. My husband and had the filet with baked potato and mushrooms. Steak cooked to perfection. Potato hot and delicious. He said the mushrooms had no real flavor. I had the 7-layer salad...YUM!!! Have been a loyal customer of the Paragon for many, many years and a card carrying guest. This past Thursday, after a rough day my wife and I decided to stop for dinner. We entered at 8:35, sign out front says open till 10PM. We were told the kitchen was closed, go away. i pointed out the closing time posted at the front door and was told "we cant keep the kitchen open for a few late comers" Never been so insulted in my life!! The food is always good and the wait staff is always excellent, but the front of the house, including the bar needs an attitude adjustment. First time I've been to the Paragon. I wasn't expecting an amazing steak more like the Pine Club. What I received was the best 16oz bone in filet I've had in years. Done to perfection. The first place that did not overcook my medium rare minus steak. The char was perfect. For $67 to get this steak, a decent salad, potato ( I obviously got the hash browns) and a vegetable was incredible. Our lamb order was a menagerie of bones, very difficult to extract the meat from. One of the filet mignon was over chared and had to be sent back. Oh, How the mighty have fallen. Ive heard the rumors about other restaurants cutting corners, skimping on portion sizes and using inferior/ lower quality products to increase their bottom line in an attempt to make up for higher costs. Its unfortunate as I can understand both sides yet, as a consumer... I was the one left "holding the bag". Went for my Birthday and opted to split the Wagyu Tomahawk. At least both of us were left with an overpriced imposter, but hey the fries were delicious. I have serious doubts that this cut was even a Wagyu, the fat marbling or the flavor wasn't consistent and left me wondering.
