Vibe at The Paramount is awesome, very urban chic. Love that it;s not bombarded with advertising. Jane's Addiction was an amazing show and was able to see the show with no problem from what they call the Sky Bar. Will be back! read more

I have to say as a lifelong Huntingtonian, they have won me over. I was all ready to be a hater on the Paramount because it would never replace our beloved IMAC and because LiveNation runs it. But I have to say, having been there several times now, I give it a grudging thumbs-up. For one thing, the space is more nicely done that it has been since its heyday as a movie palace in the '30's and '40s. I got to Huntington in the late '60s and I only caught a glipse of its faded glory before it closed. The Parmount is much nicer than either of its earlier incarnations as IMAC or the Balcony Theatre. The staff is helpful, security unitntrusive; drinks reasonably priced. Overall a very nice experience. Parking is still a problem but as a local I have ways to get around it, which I'm not willing to share! :-p Peace. read more

I am glad the venue is here, but the complaint that I have is that management refuses to give out information about if there is an opening act so that people who would prefer to just see the main act can come in, in a timely fashion. Instead after paying $75 per ticket, they would like to force people to come in ASAP so that they can be plied with drinks. In addition I wouldn't mind coming in early but for the last concert this summer, the place was damp and moldy smelling and I would prefer to spend as little time in there as possible. If you would like people to come early and stay, you may need to put in a dehumidifier. Please treat your customers with respect, and give them good information in a timely fashion. read more

If you're a metal/punk/anything that moshes fan this place is terrible terrible terrible. This place hates fun, people who were getting along in a small group bouncing around just a little bit not touching or bothering anyone else were asked to leave. I was standing behind them and I was offended. I can understand why an establishment would not prefer this type of behavior but if that's the case they shouldn't invite that type of crowd. The band I saw was Manowar for god's sake, a band which holds the Guinness world record for World's Loudest Concert. An insane, energy building heavy metal band like that, and they expect us to stand still for 2 hours straight? Garbage. I won't be going there again. read more

Awesome place...perfect size and atmosphere for a music venue. Its big enough to accommodate relevant popular bands, but intimate enough that any seat you get is great. Plenty of bars and staff available so getting a drink is never a problem, and you never have to miss any of the show because the bar is on either side of the GA floor. They are really booking some sick shows. In my opinion, if this venue was in brooklyn or the city, everyone would be talking about it as the best venue around. IT's obviously the best live venue in Long Island, and i think the best venue of its size in the tristate. Definitely get out there to see a show, as a regular concert goer I highly recommend this venue. read more

The Paramount is a great venue in the heart of Huntington Village. I love the wide range of music genres, everyone from Pitbull to B.B. King. The Paramount has something for everyone. Upon walking through the doors you are made to feel welcome by the friendly staff. The atmosphere is fun and the cocktails are awesome. Came here to see Alter Bridge in Oct 2014 and was impressed with the venue and the service. The venue staff from the manager to the bar staff were all very nice and helpful. On the other hand the security handling the concert were extremely rude but that's no fault of the Paramount. Like a lot of venues in the US, it's a little hard to get here without a car but catch a show here if you can! read more

I've to the Paramount for three shows, and each time left disappointed because of poor acoustics. The location is great, and the space is attractive, but I never enjoy the show because of the poor sound. Since the place is all brick and steel I'm not surprised. I might return if they add some acoustic treatments, large curtains to cover the walls...anything to help the sound. read more

Nothing but good things to say about this venue. It's big, clean, and the employees are very nice! A friend I met there ended up passing out and the security kept me and my other friends updated as much as he could. He even saved the drumstick she had and gave it to me to give back to her. Okay this has nothing to do with the venue itself, but the staff. The security there straight out sucks. One of them was screaming at the girls on line and I (for a concert) to pick up our stuff by saying, "PICK UP ALL YOUR SHIT." When a nearby mom heard, who we didn't even know, stepped in and said, "you don't curse at those girls, I don't care who you are... Etc" He then called her an asshole. The same security was flirting with Young TEENAGE girls on the line and he was at least in his 40's. When it was reported, the people in the theater quickly dismissed the complaint and chased everyone back to the line outside the theater, not wanting to bother with the situation. Not to mention, the rest of the security had such an attitude toward all of us on the line and none of them had the right information or knew what was going on. Later that night, when the band came out to greet fans, security started trash talking the girls and I by saying, "oh if that was my daughter I wouldn't let her do this"... They weren't necessarily too quiet when they said this either. Then they started SCREAMING at everyone, including the band members to move out of the way. One of them pushed my favorite member back to the bus when he didn't want to go yet. I don't give a crap who security is or what authority they have, but they were VERY abusive to people who didn't do anything the slightest bit wrong, including myself. read more

I purchased tickets in August for the December 12 Squeeze concert. I originally went to the box office and was told the show was sold out, but I could purchase re-sale tickets online, which I did. Imagine my surprise when on the night of the concert, my sister decided to come along and try to get a ticket, and was easily able to purchase a ticket At the box office on the floor!! My tickets were for the Sky Bar (all that was available at the time of purchase). The Sky Bar turned out to be closer to hell than to heaven. There were loud groups of people who obviously had no interest in listening the music and the sound up there was terrible! We eventually made out way down to one of two bars on either side of the floor area and were able to find two seats right next to the bar. While the sound for the concert was much better down on the floor, you still had drunken idiots screaming and being obnoxious. Ever since this venue opened in Huntington, the parking has been absolutely horrendous in town. When we left the show (before the encore) we found our car to be so tightly hemmed in by cars on either side it was nearly impossible to get out. My advice: Do NOT waste your money on concert tickets for this venue. There are many other great places on LI and in NYC if you are interested in hearing music and having a good experience. read more

Ladies with backpack purses beware! I was forced to check my small designer backpack purse at the coat check because of the "no backpack policy" at this venue. It's not like it was a string bag or a Nylon Jansport bookbag...it was my POCKETBOOK for crying out loud. I told the security guy that it was MY PURSE but he wasn't having any of it... he wasn't even interested in looking through it....all he could say was "No backpacks!". In the meantime, the woman seated behind me pulled a water bottled filled with some kind of orange liquid out of her BIG non-backpack purse, and the woman next to me had a Michael Kors bag that was big enough that she could've smuggled an Uzi in...No lie, it was at least three times the size of my cute little Vera Bradley bag, yet she was able to bring her purse into the venue, while I had to leave my personal items in my little backpack purse at the coat check. Where is the logic here? It makes no sense and it was very discriminating! VERY VERY Not cool! Totally brought a different perspective to a place that has always been a great place to see a show. I've been to the paramount plenty of times and every time I had a blast! The concerts have been so much fun. The size of the venue is perfect, not to big and not to small The decor is awesome( love the graffiti in the bathrooms). Drink prices are reasonable, the bartenders are really friendly too. I love the variety of acts from pitbull to devo to the script to willie nelson to boxing and comedy shows. The location is convenient too. Before the show you can grab a bite to eat from many different restaurants all within walking distance of the venue. Keep it up paramount. Cant wait to come to another show! read more

I saw a concert recently at this theater. What a mistake!! For over $100.00 per ticket, I expected, at least, a seat! It was awful and most of the evening consisted of watching people getting drunk and falling. I would go to a place like this if I was going to pay a $10.00 - $15.00 cover charge to see a local band, NOT a big name band! Paying over $100.00 per ticket was absolutely ridiculous!!! read more

Although the staff was friendly and the venue attractive, the sound is awful. We've seen two shows there, and the vocals are garbled and the bass disappears. The mezzanine seating offers slightly better acoustics, but not enough to actually understand the lyrics. That's too bad, since the location is close to home and offers performers we'd like to see. I'd like to go back, but don't want to pay to hear acts I can't hear - isn't that what you go to a concert for in the first place? read more

Cool Venue. Went last night for Judy Collins and Don McLean. issues with venue: 1. Won't sell day of event tickets over the phone, even when Ticketmaster has shut down the event. Our son was visiting, after we'd bought 2 tickets. My husband called, willing to give his credit card number over the phone. No go. In person sales only. 2. Camera angles on Jumbotron. The screen is meant for the people who sit in the back. We sat in row K. Could see the performers' bodies on screen but not their heads. Ceiling supports got in the way. 3. Sound system for Don McLean and Band. Muddied from the beginning. Couldn't make out the words most of the time. Piano and keyboard either too loud or inaudible. Hum present in the beginning and reappeared occasionally. Sound man's response to comparison: Ms. Collins had only a guitar and piano, easier to control the sound. Couldn't really control the band's sound....isn't that why they are there. We will return though. if in balcony sit center, above row f, otherwise the sound and light people may obstruct your view. read more

not a bad venue at all. i've seen several bands play there and although you can't sit or stand comfortably from the mezzanine, i guess you get what you pay for. i also don't know if this is a standard thing to do, but i paid early on for glassjaw tix and as the show date came closer, the remaining available seats were much cheaper than when they first went on sale. i guess they were just trying to move them quicker. Anyway, the seating is comfortable, you can see the stage well from the floor and all in all i will definitely be going there again. read more

This place honestly deserves 0 stars. My 2 friends and I went to a show last night and I was disappointed from the second I walked in the door. I had a small backpack that I use as my purse searched through when I walked in (which is normal obviously for security reasons, it's searched through at every venue but I've never ever had a problem with it). After the man at the door checked it, a rude man in a suit comes up to me demanding that it has to be checked into coat/bag check because it is a "large backpack". I told him I am not checking my purse, so he calls over his manager. The big shot head of security Mike then comes over with the worst, nastiest attitude I have ever encountered, and tells me that I need to check my bag or I can just get out. I tell him that it's my purse and I do not understand why I need to check it because I've never had this problem and I have even brought the same bag into this venue before! He tells me that this has been and thing since they opened years ago in the most sarcastic rude manor ever, so I tell him at this point I'd just like my money back for the show and he literally laughs and says "well that's not going to happen, either you check your bag or get out I don't care". I finally just decide to put it in the car and try to get past it to enjoy the concert I was there for. We go back into the venue and my two friends get 13 dollar cocktails, I ask for just a cup of water at the bar which they charged me 5 dollars for, so ridiculous! Then to top it off, waiting for the main act to come on my friends and I are being stared at by Mike and about 4 other security guys who just stand there staring and talking (clearly about us). Within the 30 minutes of waiting for the show to start, I saw probably at least 15-20 backpacks and HUGE bags that other people were carrying and clearly had no problem getting in there. I feel very discriminated against and disgusted with this place and will NEVER return no matter who they have playing there. HIGHLY DO NOT recommend this place and their rude staff to anyone. read more

I went to the Paramount with a bunch of friends for an 80's band. I called them before buying a ticket because my friends had purchased tickets for the floor seating which is standing only. I have Parkinson's disease and called to inquire about handicapped seating on the floor. I was told there was handicapped seating on either side of the floor and to just go to one of the security guards and let them know. So I happily bought my ticket. About halfway through the concert I realized I needed to sit down and saw a seating area right behind me. I approached the security guard, told him my situation as I was told to do, and he told me I could not sit there-it was VIP seating only. I was told that the handicapped seating was toward the front. I explained that at that moment it was impossible for me to get through the crowds to sit. The guard asked me if I needed EMS!!! I got mad and said NO -that I just needed to sit down until my medication started working. At that point, my friends began explaining to the security guards my situation with no response. I ended up standing the entire time very uncomfortably with no handicapped seating in sight. I subsequently sent an email to them explaining my disgust over the situation and never received a response! We loved going there for concerts-it is a shame they obviously do not know how to accommodate people with disabilities!!! read more

I'm not sure what all of the people below me are complaining about because I personally think this is one of the best venues I have ever been to. Not only is it so easy to get to, but there's plenty of places in Huntington to go to before and after shows for dinner, coffee, or dessert. From my experiences (not sure what venues the people below me have been to) the sound system is actually top notch, and best I've heard at a live concert venue on LI, so far. As for the trolley, I think it was an absolutely brilliant idea and for the 12+ shows I've been to over at the Paramount, I have utilized it almost every time! The venue is filled with friendly people always willing to make your experience the best it can possibly be. The bartenders, waitresses, and even coat check girls, are always pleasant and courteous. The Paramount is absolutely gorgeous and I have had nothing but excellent experiences there; I highly recommend going to a show as soon as possible if you haven't done so already! read more

only 900 or so of the tickets are seats, the rest are for standing or should I say shoving, sometimes the crowd was so loud you couldn't hear the music clearly so they jack up the sound and it bounces off the walls, too many bars serving overpriced drinks, have to wait on line outside in the rain or cold, local businesses giving dirty looks, had homeowners give us a hard time about parking in front of their house, can't say I blame them if my store or house was there, I'd be pissed, they have a trolley bus at Huntington Station with a parking lot, so that's cool, but it's way in the other direction, so forget that. How come they didn't do this right - in a brand new, acoustically superior venue with it's own parking lot? They should move to a spot better suited for this many people and stop crowding them in, get better acoustics, and forget the bars and open space. Great musicians but a lousy venue. read more

Easily the worst venue I've ever been to. We can start with the fact that a minuscule parking lot is designated as the venue parking lot. So finding parking in this little town is a nightmare before getting in. I then had what would be a ticketmaster issue in which I chose general admission tickets for cheapest available and was mistakenly given seats (which are more expensive). When I brought this to the venues attention they told me there was nothing they could do and I would be a fire hazard. Not like the police would care about all the cars illegally parked - nope just me being a fire hazard obviously. Then after being shown to our seats by staff, my boyfriend and I, as well as all the people around us were continuously being checked to make sure we were in the right seats because they couldn't remember. So during a live performance, our entire section had to keep getting up and digging out tickets. Further, there were people also assigned to our seats, further proof my tickets were an error. Then trying to enjoy myself, I stayed near the bar. I asked the bartender for water and she told me to find a water fountain. Never never again even if it was a dream line up would I return here. read more

Let me start by saying that if you like to really like to listen to the performer(s) you are going to see, then don't come to the Paramount. You will be distracted by the noise from the bars that are next to the orchestra seats and the ushers with their bright flashlights will drive you crazy when they shine them at people taking pictures with theri phones. The Paramount doesn't know whether it is a concert venue or a night club. What were they thinking when they put bars in the seating area??? People line the bars during the show, talking loudly, seemingly not interested in the show, but rather hang out in a "cool" place. I recently saw Don Henley (incredible that he played such a small venue) and one of the first things he said to the audience was a remark about the bars. Throughout the entire concert (which was great) you could hear loud talking from the bar area which was so distracting. For $250 a seat in the orchestra, it was totally unprofessional. And how many times, during the middle of a song, were we distracted by these kid ushers shining very bright flashlights down the rows to reprimand people for taking pictures with their phones. So many moments were ruined by these kids. As I started with, I'm someone who actually likes to listen to the performers--I mean, really listen and enjoy the moment without unnecessary distraction. Aint going to happen in this place. Too bad, because all this stuff ruined what was otherwise an incredible perfromance by this musical icon. The Paramount owners need to figure out what they want this place to be out of respect for the performers and their customers, that is if they care about either. read more
