The guy in front of me seemed to be ordering for an entire family as his order took a while. The place is a get in and get out spot, no where to sit or eat. I decided to try my taco The beans were very thick. My food wasn't hot, just warm. The taco shell was hard and crumbled with every bite. But tasted ok. I only ate half of it. Loved the tortillas. The fact they have butter on the table for the tortillas was a delight. But as I'm sitting there I notice a gnat flying and it landed on my food. Then it flew over to the side of the plate. My husband got it with a napkin. The waitress was nearby so he laid the napkin on the table. We showed it to her. I told her it landed on my food. At this point I wasn't going to eat anymore of it. She looked at the napkin folded it and took it. As she was leaving she asked if I wanted a to go box. I said no, a bug landed on my food and crawled around. I don't want to eat this. She said ok, I'll bring you your check. My husband didn't finish his food either. We both lost our appetites. We paid the bill and left. We had been through this before with a different restaurant that we use to love but have never been back there since. We won't be returning here either. While a torta is what people recommended, my mind immediately went to tacos when I saw that option. As you all probably know with me, I'm a sucker for any dish that has the word taco in it. Pivoting to those, I decided on a trio of the Taco Chilango (w/ carnitas), the pastor taco, and the taco gringa. These concoctions are out of this world with the combination of ingredients, tenderness and flavors of the meats, and the consistency of the warm tortilla. The crema on top of these is the perfect final touch. After devouring these, I can only imagine what the torta tastes like! Definitely next time!
