Delicious food. Friendly atmosphere. I highly recommend the Shepherd's Pie. I cannot say enough good things about Parsons Pub.

If I could give 10 stars, I would. As a testament to how much we enjoyed this place, we returned the next day to eat lunch too! First of, the service was amazing (both times!). The servers know their stuff, had spot-on recommendations, and were so kind. The beer selection was amazing and the servers were so knowledgeable and provided great recommendations. But the real star of the show was the food. The food - my word! Our first night we got the nachos, French onion soup, Irish Pasty, and kids bangers and mash. All of it was divine! We also had Guinisse Cake and vanilla pudding dessert were out of this world. The Reuben was THE BEST THING! That's why we returned to try it. We had a Reuben, more nachos, and the kids couldn't quit clambering to order the Bangers and Mash again. We are not local and would truly consider driving 2 hours to eat this food again!! read more

Food was terrible for an Irish Pub. The fish and chips were not fried. Seems they were more liked baked and it was burnt when it arrived at our table. The fish had a horrible taste to it. The only thing Irish about this place was all the different types of beer they had. Prices were too high for what you got. So folks don't waste your money here for fish and chips when you can go to McDonalds and taste better fish and fries. I could go on and on. Just beware. read more

An Irish pub that wants to be a health food kinda sort of. Nothing is fried here for our health they say, but they don't really offer healthy options. So you think well how bad can it be if they are still serving fish and chips this way? It was Not good at all. The coleslaw also had a weird tang, like it was old. The Ruben llat was good. To the Yelper who said her 'shepherds pie was delicious and her hubby's Reuben, the best he had ever had' a huge THANK YOU! Your Yelp! drove us in and we ordered the same. We divided both so we could get a fair assessment. First, when we entered 'tis a true Irish pub feel and considering we just returned from Erin's Isle and spent the entire time going from pub to pub, we feel we have a pretty good idea. However it does have one main difference, it is a newer establishment than it's Irish counterparts you can tell because the floors, walls and artwork are lovely and clean and not wearing the traditional dust mantles. We were also greeted in true Irish form by Adrian, who I believe has a Leprechaun living in her heart. What a happy, friendly, witty lady. It set the tone. The Shepherd's pie (actually cottage pie) is delicious and rivals any I have had in the USA or back home. The Reuben for both of us, was unanimously was indeed the 'best we had ever had.' The Guinness was a true pour and have that lovely coffee after tone we love so much. Come visit Yelpers one and all, you'll be so glad you did! Thanks, we'll be back again before we leave town. First time at Parson's Pub, I have to say the beer selection is excellent. Servers were friendly but they appear short staffed. One plate of fish and chips was very good while the second was cold. French fries were under done and the shepherds pie while pipping hot, lacked gravy and flavor. Would definitely go back for a drink! read more

This was the best meal I've had in a very long time!! The server was super friendly without being over bearing. The corn beef and cabbage (with a little added salt) was yummy and my husband said THE best Reuben he has ever had ( and he's a had a lot!) Recommend fully. Hubby and I are up for parent weekend at YHC and decided to try this place based on Yelp reviews. We had the fry appetizer with Guinness cheese, bacon and green onions. It was yummy. For entrees, hubs had the bangers and mash. He had never had that before and really enjoyed it. I had the corned beef and cabbage. Cabbage was a bit overdone and under-seasoned, but I'm kind of a cabbage snob and like it crisp. The corned beef was fabulous, as were the potatoes and carrots. I loved the strong mustard served on the side. Their beer selection is unbelievably large and varied. Waitress was great at giving us suggestions. She was also very welcoming. Prices were much more reasonable than expected for the food value. Plan to go back and try some of the other Irish dishes! read more

Service was ok but unprofessional. Food was inconsistent My wife enjoyed the grilled cheese sandwich with tomato bisque. I got the Rueben sandwich, which the place brags about. The corned beef was good and the marble rye was fine. They totally forgot the sauerkraut and sauce. I pointed the issue out to our server and she asked if I'd like a side of kraut and some dressing. This is the best restaurant in Murphy. I had a nice lunch with my sis. The food was good and fresh. Our waitress, Cindy, was fast and efficient and friendly. I had enough for leftovers which I just enjoyed for supper. The lunchtime atmosphere was nice. Peaceful and no excessive noise. We were able to talk without shouting. read more

Nothing is fried, it's all baked. So fish and chips were not crispy. Even my 11 year old didn't care for it. Beer cheese was like nachos cheese, which was strange. The most inauthentic "Irish Pub" I have ever visited. Zero atmosphere, zero Celtic vibe. Few draft beer options. The food is absolutely horrible. All of it is apparently microwaved, and nothing you couldn't have topped by eating at home. Especially avoid the fish & chips which taste worse than Gordon's fish sticks, ( no joke). Only in Murphy would such a sub par establishment receive so many high ratings. Try Perone's or Monte Alban. Blue Ridge has much better options also. read more

Local restaurants have a new standard to strive toward. The recently opened Parson's Pub will soon be one of the top destinations in the area. It has the best selection of beer that I know of within 30 miles (many local microbrews on tap and bottled plus a diverse bottled collection including obscure west coast microbrews such as West Coast), I know of nothing closer than Ellijay with a better selection. Despite being a pub, the food is extraordinary: a worthy destination for dining alone. They do not use any deep fryers or a microwave, the result is remarkable. I had the corned beef and cabbage yesterday, I cannot recall the last time I could cut corned beef with one movement of my fork: tender, flavorful, delightful. Today I had the Shepherd's Pie and it was equally delightful: creamy yet dense and flavorful potatoes and tender meat. I would have preferred less cooked vegetables, but hey, it's a pub! The side vegetables were steamed (not oversteamed) broccoli with some topping (perhaps finely grated provolone?) that quickly made me forget the vegetables in the pie. I usually just browse food reviews whenever I'm in a new place and try it out and am just satisfied with whatever I get without having the urge to post about it. This time was different. I was in town for few hours and it was lunchtime and decided on getting something local. I decided on Parson's due to the great reviews and hankering for British food that I haven't had in quite a while. I got the Shepherds Pie, my gf got the chicken pot pie, and her mom got the bangers and mash. Now, British food isn't normally known to be very flavorful. This place was so different. All the food was out of this world great. The shepherds pie was meaty, garlic potatoey deliciousness. The best shepherds pie I've ever eaten even when I went to England. The chicken pot pie had a flaky 1-2 inch high crust with tender chicken and good veggies. And the bangers and mash had a great Guinness marinated flavor and the mash was as good as what was on the shepherds pie. For dessert, we had a birthday and got the Guinness cake and that was even so delicious. We didn't take advantage of the extensive craft beer selection but they had something for everyone. This Pub is authentic as they get!! The food is great with good service. Have had everything on their menu including their huge beer selection. The beers change out regularly so there is always something new to try at lunch. The staff will let u try any of their tap beers to see if you like one over another.. Love this place. This is a great place to get a beer and a great dinner. My family came here while visiting. We don't have many Irish pubs near us in TX. The staff is welcoming and friendly. We ordered and the appetizer was brought within a few minutes. The sausage rolls were delicious! My son ordered a 2nd order to go for breakfast the next day. He loved the meatballs.
