Food is always great, and customer service is always great in the atmosphere is wonderful.

I wish I could give 0 stars. This is not the first time we have been to this restaurant, which makes this experience even more disappointing. We called ahead before to ask if they can sit 7 people and 2 kids if we needed a reservation. We were told no and to come on in. We were less than 10 mins away but wanted to call ahead to make sure just incase we needed to go to another restaurant. we were told no and to come on in they will get us right in. From the moment we walked in around 6:20-6:30 pm , the experience was terrible. We did not receive our food until after 7:45 PM. On top of that, a takeout order was placed at the same time as our original order, but it was not brought out until more than 30 -40 minutes after we had already paid the check. We paid our bill around 8:05 PM and were repeatedly told the takeout food was "being boxed up," yet we did not actually receive it until after 8:40 PM. What made the situation even worse was the attitude from the staff. When my father pointed out that we had been there for over 2 hours waiting on food, the server actually chuckled at him instead of addressing the issue professionally. After speaking with the owner, Mike, he stated, "I will back up my employees," claimed we were incorrect, and said that as a chef, he personally trained his staff. Even after explaining how unacceptable the service was -- including the excessive wait times and cold food -- he continued to dismiss our concerns. When asked what could be done to make the situation right, we explained that after such poor service, cold food, and extremely long wait times, some type of refund would be appropriate considering we spent over $200 plus tip. His solution was to offer a free fettuccine. At that point, it was no longer about compensation, a refund, or a free meal -- it was about the complete disrespect my family received both during our visit last night and in the way we were treated by the owner afterward. His response was essentially, "You got your food, didn't you?" He also claimed this was the first complaint he had received since December. To add the restaurant was not busy once they set up our table. Overall, the experience was rude, disrespectful, and completely unacceptable. I will absolutely be warning others about how poorly my family was treated. read more

Met friends at Rizzo's for an early lunch. Arrived at 11 and were seated right away! We all ordered one of the lunch specials $15.75 for a salad and one of their sandwiches, what a great deal! Honestly, it was a bit underwhelming - overall ok. First, I was shocked that they don't serve pizza. Really?!?! I got the Chicken Rizzo and it was a bit too lemony for my taste. My family got chicken spidini and it was great. Side salads are decent and toasted ravioli while good, it typical for Italian in STL. Our waitress was really nice, so that's a plus. Interior I don't think has been modernized for a very long time and could use some help here. Overall, I'd say there are better options in a 3 mile radius. read more

The food here was awesome. Nate was our server and was very attentive and make sure they were well taken care of. I would highly recommend the pasta con broccoli and the chicken mandega. My partner and I had a wonderful time here!! The food was really good, I got the ravioli with meat sauce with the side salad which was also amazing! After attending a funeral visitation yesterday we went to dinner here. We arrived at 5:15Pm with a party of 8. We had no reservations. The restaurant quickly set up our table and we were seated in less than 10 minutes. Our waitress came to get our drink orders very quickly. She was very accommodating. It took a bit of time to get the drinks. She got our food orders about 15 minutes later. Both my partner and I ordered the Wednesday special, Chicken Spedini. We waited. We finally got our food delivered hot at the table. We left at 7:45pm but the food was good. We paid $30.00 per person when all was done. read more

Nice lunch. Very busy but the servers were efficient and friendly. We had the spaghetti and meatballs. It's an absolute classic and a very ample helping. We brought home enough for a second meal. The salad is traditional Italian salad. My only complaint is the salad dressing was a little heavy on the oil but flavor was excellent. The meatballs are hearty and the marinara was thick and delicious. Well worth the visit. The atmosphere is a little dated but the tables are not jammed too close to each other. I went to Rico's with family a few weeks ago and while the service was adequate, the food was not. The cream sauce was too thick and gluten high. We had tortellini that we thought would be cheese because it was not specified in the menu, but came out meat. The person who ordered this was vegetarian and we ended up trading my tutti du mare for that. It was awful and I could not eat much of it - did not ask for a box. Food was really good I got the Alfredo with chicken breast and garlic cheese bread. Also tried the spaghetti and it was good. Service was pretty quick. Kid friendly and also got our food out pretty quickly. Definitely want to come back and try some more items on the menu. read more

The establishment is very clean, warm and inviting. Our servers name is Nick he is very nice checks on his customers in a timely manner, and is great with kids. All the staff works well together and help one another with tables. Samantha was not even our server and she kept checking on us as well. Salad came out rather quickly very well put together, not long after our food came out. The seafood linguine was fresh and hot, however it only had 4 pieces of shrimp on it and the sauce is lacking flavor but still is eatible. I do feel with the portion size it shouldn't be $25 the serving size is more of a lunch portion. The kids pasta was hot and fresh as well however my son did not like it again I think it's more of a seasoning issue as well. We sent the kids pasta back and replaced it with a burger and fries. The burger was cooked to perfection and was fresh very flavorful and was amazed on the size of it!!!! The portions here are HUGE. It made three meals for me since I wasn't very hungry, but probably two meals for anyone else or one giant meal for a very hungry and motivated individual. Went and had lunch with three friends today at noon and there was only one waiter taken care of all the tables in the dining room so of course service was very bad. The portion size is getting smaller and smaller ordered a piece of cake to go. It was a third the size of a regular piece of cake Prices are going up and it's ridiculous. Very upsetting to see service was so bad and quality was bad. One lady in our group had fettuccine, which tasted like it had a whole bottle of salt poured on it so she sent it back. I did enjoy the Italian salad--it was better than what some competitors offer. The service was friendly, which was a nice touch. However, I wish their lunch menu had more variety. While they have the traditional pasta dishes covered, the entrée options felt a bit limited. Perhaps a dinner visit would offer more choices with their expanded menu. I came in for lunch today and sat at the bar since I'm solo. I ordered their steak sandwich and substituted a salad instead of fries. They used to add fresh ground pepper to your salad that I was looking forward to, but this was not offered. The steak sandwich hit the spot. It was delicious! It was nice and crispy and tender. I would get it again. The bartender was nice. However, she pretty much ignored me. She didn't ask how the meal was going and didn't really seem to want to chat much. It's not busy, so I felt like I was bothering her by trying to have a friendly conversation. She did make a really tasty cocktail that was on the menu for me, but I had to ask about it as it wasn't on the original menu she provided me with. It's quite in here and seems to be pretty clean. Another great dinner at Rizzo's. I can't say enough about how great this place is...food, service, value...it's all great. Met a friend for dinner tonight and we're seated promptly. We couldn't decide between the toasted ravioli and toasted cannelloni appetizer- so we did both. Their toasted ravioli are round, crunchy, and full of filling. The toasted cannelloni and just how they sound- little bites of cannelloni stuffed with a meat filling, covered in breadcrumbs and fried. Both served with their meat sauce. Salads came next- I love their dressing!! It's a creamy Italian type dressing but not the white one that has you questioning if it is ranch. This is creamy, tangy, and has a lingering flavor that is just so good and unique. Entrees- I love their meatballs and couldn't decide between a pasta with meatballs or chicken speidini which is a specialty of theirs. I opted to get get both by ordering the speidini dinner, with a side of red pasta adding a meatball. Their meatballs are tender flavorful balls of meat goodness. Their are never dry. Come covered in their house marinara and just so so good. The chicken speidini is a screwer of chicken breast in a light breadcrumb coating that is then grilled and covered with a garlic lemon butter. It is sooooo good. My husband opts for their pasta primavera with a pink sauce which is full of vegetables- broccoli, cauliflower, peas, mushrooms, and asparagus mixed with a large shell pasta. He is a pasta con broccoli lover from Pasta House but this is so far beyond that and tonight's was even better he said. He actually said he is never eating at PH again. My friend got the lasagna. It is a hearty portion that comes out in its dish that is was broiled in. Layers of meat sauce, pasta, ricotta, and mozzarella cheese make this a favorite also. I know St Louis has a variety of Italian restaurants but this one is by far one of the best. If you haven't been before, GO, and if you haven't been in a while- GO. You will be happy you did. I've been eating here for years. In normal times we like to catch the early bird specials for really good food at great prices! With Dine-in closed, I placed a phone order this past weekend. They told us when to show up, waited in my car for curbside and they had employees running out to verify which order is yours and take payment. Pretty easy process! I was a little worried since we had a large order, but they brought large orders out in cardboard boxes rather than bags. This was way more convenient than carrying a few bags. They packed everything up really well to travel without making a mess. The food stayed hot and fresh on the ride home and we really enjoyed our meal! I enjoy Tortellini with peas and mushrooms anywhere, but it is THE BEST here! Try it! They let you add Chicken Spiedini to any pasta dish for a small upcharge. If you were to order something and have something slightly changed it was obvious that the cooks would throw a temper tantrum and overly do what you ask for not in a good way more in a way that when you got your food it was obvious that they were mad at you for even having to change slightly something even though you're paying $20/25 for a basic Italian American meal not even that authentic. It just seemed like anyone who worked there they had just lost their pride in their job and the willingness did even the average or above average of average. It has a dining room that can be closed off to the rest of the restaurant and a large bar area. The lunch menu is on the back of the regular menu. Bread and butter is served. I selected the spaghetti and meatball with salad and he chose the sausage sandwich with salad. The salads were fresh and had just the right amount of dressing on it. He received a whole sausage sandwich with sauce not just a half sandwich. He said it was good. My spaghetti and meatball was good also. Would I come back here? The food here was absolutely amazing! We began with Shrimp Scampi & Cannelloni bites....out of this world perfection. Onto house salads ... ate every bite which is not our norm. Then the main entrees ...Beef and Chicken Modega. Delicious! Service was top notch. Loved how we could have a conversation and hear each other.
