Secured the upstairs private room for a birthday brunch at 11:30AM a week ahead of time. It is a tiny balcony-like space with one round table that fits 8 chairs. Got started with mimosas while waiting for the rest of the party to arrive. Our server Jackie was attentive and friendly. Once everyone arrived, spent a considerable amount of time looking through the drink and food menu, we were ready to order. As Jackie was making her way around the table, the items that half of our group wanted weren't available. Mind you it was only noon! What wasn't available were Char Sui Toast, Lakeshore Lobster Club, Thai Iced Tea, Matcha Mojito, and a couple more alcoholic drinks that I forgot names to. It was pretty disappointing to find that out as each one of us were trying to get our order in. The food and drinks came out quick. -Chandon Brut Mimosa (4/5): Standard and delicious. -Thai Tea Cinnamon Roll (2.5/5): Thai Tea Cinnamon flavor was great, but it came with hard, almost stale-like breading. Not soft and fluffy like Cinnabon. -Housemade Buttermilk Biscuits (2/5): Nothing special that stood out. Bland, hard biscuit and plain butter over honey. A piece I was cutting flew off the plate. -Susu Steak & Eggs (1/5): Medium well flank steak and scrambled eggs were both flavorless and cold. Cholula hot sauce didn't cut it. The best part of the dish were the fingerling potatoes. -Buttermilk Fried Chicken (4/5): Moderately decent fried chicken encased with pickled papaya slaw in between soft potato roll. Shoestring fries were deep-fried and seasoned well. The owner, Kao, came up to give us a quick visit to see how things were going. He was nice. AC vent needs to be redirected to the table rather than the stairs because it was hot up there coupled with having alcoholic drinks. All in all, they need to have food and drinks in stock. Peach's biscuit is not that good but very close. The biscuit is crunchy on the outside but sinfully fluffy inside. My husband had a bodega sandwich and my daughter, avocado toast. They both liked them with a particular emphasis on the potatoes!! They have a small but delicious menu. The service was excellent. Refills and extras automatically arrived. This is really probably closer to a 2 star review, but they are so nice here! First off ambiance, vibes and staffing are great. Sadly, I didn't quite enjoy the food and prices were off. I went with the chicken club. It was more a chicken thigh, not super flavored or high quality on sad bread that was soaked in butter and falling apart. It was kind of tasteless, but I was hungry and scarfed it down, but it by far didn't warrant the $16/$17. The kicker on this was I opted for the side salad for an additional $5. When it never came, I realized that the tiny side bowl of what I thought was just garnish was the salad. It was legit so outrageous, it was funny. The bowl had to have been about 2 inches in diameter of frisee. My friend ordered the chicken & waffles and she said she has had better. Overall, my experience wasn't the best. I wish I could say I loved the food here, but the dishes fell short and didn't meet my overall expectations. I do want to shout out our wonderful server with the super slay cluster lashes though, she was incredibly sweet! I really wanted to try the mango sticky rice matcha despite it being a whopping $12, but they ran out of rice milk, so that may have been a blessing in disguise. I got the Thai Tea Dirty Coffee instead which tasted quite nice, but disappeared in about 3 sips. The chicken and waffles looked and sounded amazing this particular day, and I had high hopes when it got to the table. The chicken was juicy and tender with a nice crispy skin, which I enjoyed, but the waffle definitely took some points off by throwing off the balance of the dish. Maybe I just don't like cornmeal waffles, but the texture was definitely off and almost kind of gritty? The taste itself was also saved by the maple syrup. I was not a fan of an important half of this dish, but I still took the leftovers home. While I didn't order this for myself, the $5 side salad with my dining partner's sandwich was quite literally a single, very simple bite of greens. They asked if we want the side we ordered, but charged us twice without informing us. Definitely not worth it for a BLT with 4 chicken patties for a whopping $35. Pretty insane. Been wanting to try this spot for a while but didn't feel hungry and the experience with the side of chicken patties not being on the side and being charged twice plus the auto gratuity leaves a bad taste in my mouth. What a beautiful space on Lakeshore Ave. in Oakland. I've been wanting to check out the Peach for quite some time now and finally had the opportunity to do so catching the tail end of Oakland restaurant week. We ordered from the restaurant week menu and I had the Thai tea cinnamon roll and Lucky Peach plate that came accompanied with over easy eggs, crispy bacon, hearty & flavorful taters, and some greens for a touch of lightness. I also opted for the Peach mimosa because..when at the Peach..ya have one! Everything was truly aesthetic pleasing. The dishes were well-thought out and the plating was done just right. Other items ordered for the restaurant week menu were the avocado toast bites and buttermilk biscuits with honey and butter, as well as the curry shrimp and congee and the char siu toast. So basically, one of everything :) The wait staff were gracious and spot on, and the Chef actually peeked over the wall near the kitchen and probably spotted we had one of everything from the restaurant week menu and actually came and sat with us, explaining each of his dishes. Such a cool highlight and experience that's truly never happened to us before. Loved every moment! There's also a pretty outdoor area, and taking a glance at the menu, a really innovative & fun take on all-day brunch. I can't wait to come back to try the Smash Fried Chicken & Pancakes, the Sesame Caesar, and the Lakeshore Lobster Club. Our first experience with The Peach on Lakeshore was fantastic. The food was so good that we were excited to order again. Unfortunately, every DoorDash order since then has been disappointing because something has been missing each time. Our second order arrived with several missing items. We decided to give them another chance and kept this order as simple as possible by ordering just two meals. One of them was the Chicken & Biscuits, and we even paid extra to have gravy packaged on the side, which was offered as an option when ordering. The gravy was left out completely, making the meal incomplete. I could have simply requested a refund through DoorDash, but I chose to call the restaurant because my goal was to bring attention to what seems to be a recurring issue with their delivery orders. I was hoping they would take the feedback seriously and improve the experience for future customers. Instead, I was told the gravy would be refunded, but that refund has not been processed from the restaurant's end. At this point, it's difficult not to feel like DoorDash orders receive less care and attention than dine-in orders. Delivery customers are still paying customers. We should receive complete, accurate meals just like anyone eating in the restaurant. If delivery orders can't be prepared with the same level of attention, it may be worth reconsidering offering that service until the process is more reliable. The frustrating part is that the food itself is genuinely good. Our first experience proved that. We wanted to keep supporting this restaurant, but after multiple delivery orders with missing items, it's becoming hard to justify giving it another chance. read more
