    Bodega Sandwich
    Kathy N.

I stopped by on a Saturday around 10am for brunch and there was no wait, we were greeted and seated immediately! I loved the interior and the natural lighting of the place. There were indoor and outdoor seating! I ordered the guava mimosa (tasted mostly like champagne with a dash of guava lol) and I believe it was a mango sticky rice matcha which I thought was okay. I ordered the bodega sandwich and it was soooo good and fulfilling (and messy) but I would definitely recommend, 10/10. My siblings got the lakeshore breakfast (portion was huge) and shrimps & grits and loved it. Will definitely be coming back!

Stopped by for brunch with friends, and this is a cute vibey spot. Standouts in terms of food were definitely the golden pancakes. The chicken and waffles were decent, nothing crazy special though. For drinks - the first two I tried to order they actually did not have or could not make, so I ended up just getting a regular mimosa. Bit disappointing. Appreciate the easy payment system, with the ability to see the whole bill and pay for what you ordered. Nice with such a big group. Would give it 3.5 stars.

The social media gods have done it again! They steered me towards The Peach and I was very pleased with their guidance! Arrived around 11am on a Saturday and was greeted by the lovely hostess. I was actually kind of shocked this place wasn't completely packed, but that made getting a table easy peasy. Definitely had to try the peach Bellini and it was so yummy! Nothing like something sparkly and sweet for a breakfast alcoholic beverage! For my meal, I had the breakfast sandwich and omg it was very good!! I had it made with an egg over easy. So perfect! I also paired it with a salad. Great and refreshing for a morning meal. Loved my brunch over at The Peach! I'm loving all the food in Oakland and I'm happy to add this spot to my brunch rotation.

Came on a Sunday morning, to my luck, there was no wait. The restaurant's cute and swanky, as many brunch spots frequently are. I ordered the veggie scramble, which features seasonal veggies; the June rendition arrived stuffed with mushroom, asparagus, and squash along with shreds of cheese layered throughout. Frankly, this might be one of the better egg dishes I've had in a while, and the accompanying toast was pretty exquisite. Certainly not any Sara Lee. Had I not been violently hungover, I would've hounded the whole thing in seconds, but I surrendered and boxed pretty much the entire meal. Saturday night - 1. Audrey - 0.

I'm generally not a fan of mandatory gratuity, especially when the service was just ok but not particularly memorable. As for the food, it was a bit hit or miss for me. The chicken was a little dry and saltier than I prefer. The bread pudding wasn't quite what I was expecting, as it came across a bit watery and undercooked. On the positive side, the bacon was tasty and one of the better items we tried. Having visited Lakeshore Cafe when it was in this location, it's hard not to make comparisons. The overall experience didn't quite live up to those memories, but it may appeal to others with different tastes. Even the drinks were decent, though they didn't particularly stand out. Overall, the experience was okay, but there are a few areas that could be improved.

Cute little brunch spot with unique mango sticky rice matchas and filling comfort food entrees. Golden pancakes are thick and buttery and have a nice bite to them. Chicken and waffles and chicken and biscuits were pretty good and their take on biscuits are flat and almost look like focaccia and come with a side of gravy. They do charge 50 cents for any sort of hot sauce (not included even if you order fried chicken) and when they mistakenly put an additional mimosa down on the table, the server mentioned he'd still charge us for it if he left it there. Service was friendly enough but that left a bit of a bad taste in our mouth and brought the vibe down. Probs just the delivery of it. Overall an okay vibe and decent food.

Arrived around 9:30am on a Saturday and it wasn't too busy - we were seated right away and there were plenty of tables. We ordered: - golden pancakes - chicken & waffles - peach bread pudding - chicken sausauge - side of fries (Yes, for two people - it was a lot of food!) This was probably the best bread pudding we've had in a while - nice contrast of textures (soft and crunchy) with a subtle peach flavor. The waffle was light and airy, and enormous. So was the golden pancake (luckily we ordered a single). Friendly service, cute ambiance inside. Highly recommend!

I enjoyed my visit here. The vibe was great: the space is very bright and well lit with lots of natural light. The music selection was impeccable and the wait staff were very friendly. I got the chicken and waffle and the waffle was very crispy and the chicken was tasty and had a very good batter to chicken ratio (such that it was crunchy). I also got a coconut cream drink with mango at the bottom that was refreshing and flavorful.

Visited on A Friday afternoon - no reservation, got sat instantly. Staff was friendly and inviting, Fabio, our waiter, was great and gave the run down of menu. We order the shrimp and grits and the eggs Benedict. For drink we got the mango sticky rice matcha latte. The drinks were GREAT!! A must try and worth coming back for. The food we got was fantastic, the shrimp and grits were so good, I couldn't stop eating it. My partner loved the eggs Benedict, finished it before I could even look up from my food. The space is nice and vibrant, music is great and not too loud. Would love to come back for one of their movie nights. The menu has so many great things, we'll definitely be coming back!

The sandwich was a lot bigger than I expected but that is a plus. It was all good except they put a sauce on it that I'm not really a fan of. Everything else in the sandwich was perfect though. And the potatoes were perfectly crispy. I liked the rose matcha but I feel like I always forget that rose matcha isn't my fav just because the rose kinda overpowers it and makes it very sweet. The restaurant was really cute and I loved the color scheme. Also decently crowded at 10:30 but we could still get a table = perfect!

We were very impressed that we were able to be seated immediately upon walking in, and the service throughout our meal was wonderful. The entire team was incredibly friendly, ensuring we had water and drink orders taken right away. We loved all of the food and drinks we ordered. One detail I especially appreciated was your proximity to Arizmendi and the fact that you offer some of their bread on your menu. The ambiance was great! We will definitely be back to have breakfast or brunch with you again soon. Thank you for the lovely experience.

A standout brunch spot with creative dishes and great service. Went for brunch with Dez and were greeted and seated right away. The menu has a wide variety of options, so there's something for everyone. We tried the tiramisu French toast and Chef Harold's omelette. The French toast was easily the highlight -- from the brûléed edges to the butterscotch sauce, everything came together really well. It wasn't overly sweet and didn't have that heavy eggy taste, just well balanced and flavorful. The omelette was light and fluffy, paired with crispy potatoes, salad, and sourdough bread. We also added a side of bacon, which came out crispy but still tender. For drinks, we had mimosas -- peach and guava. They use brut, which gave it a slightly more bitter finish, but still enjoyable. Service really stood out. Our waitress was attentive, kind, and offered helpful recommendations throughout the visit. Street parking is available but metered, so something to keep in mind. Overall, a great brunch experience with standout dishes and service. Definitely a spot I'd come back to.

food: chef harold's omlette: 5/5 very yummy. had a nice balance. not even sure what the seasonal filling was but it was very tasty. didn't feel super heavy which i liked for a breakfast item. potatoes were crisp. loved it . chicken and waffles: 4/5 chicken was crispy and delicious very well seasoned. waffle was nice and crispy if that's your thing. i definitely enjoyed it, but if u like a softer one might not be your thing. the waffle was good but nothing extra that wowed me personally. it wasn't bad but i think it was just a waffle to me. golden pancakes: 5/5 omg sooo delicious. the syrup it's drenched in was amazing and paired soooo well with it. definitely a must try. i liked my pancake a bit softer so i let it sit in the syrup a little longer. it's also really big so think about it before making it a double stack. my friends and i shared one pancake. service: 5/5 the service here was excellent. staff was very friendly and patient with our questions and very friendly as well. ambiance: 5/5 very nice ambiance. casual great for lunch. definitely more loud on the inside bc voices echo. if it's a nice day definitely recommend the back patio if it's not too long of a wait.

I really wanted to like this place. I'd walked by several times and loved the interior design, and the videos on Instagram made it seem like such a great spot. I stopped in one evening by myself, ordered a glass of wine and the warm olives (which were delicious), and was looking forward to a relaxing night. Unfortunately, the service was the biggest disappointment. The restaurant was packed, and the atmosphere felt more concerned with maintaining an image than making guests feel welcome. I understand some restaurants embrace a more reserved European style of service, but this came across as cold and pretentious rather than intentional hospitality. As a solo diner especially, I didn't feel acknowledged or valued as a guest. It also didn't help that the dining room had a noticeable body odor smell that took away from the experience. On a positive note, the bathroom was clean and beautifully designed. I originally thought this would become my go-to place to grab a glass of wine while waiting for a table at the ramen spot next door, but unfortunately that wasn't the case. Reading through other reviews, it seems I'm not the only one who had this impression. Oakland's charm has always been its people. You can open a French-inspired wine bar, but hospitality translates into every language. If you're going to bring a Parisian aesthetic to Oakland, don't mistake indifference for sophistication. Guests should leave feeling welcomed, not judged.

The person staffing the bar was really busy doing many different things. As that was the case, interacting felt a bit strained. At the same time, considering how much she had going on, she kept it together. I appreciated that she kept track of who was next.
