3 of 3 - horrendously rude email received from the business owner of the peacock. Zero sense of business and customer service.
    Maggy B.

Email from owner to me (copied/pasted, no edits) - here's who you're dealing with - also included screenshots so he doesn't deny: Ah, yes, the classic "I'm outraged that a business expects me to pay for something" review. Let's break this down, shall we? You came into our restaurant (not a free community center), sat down without ordering anything, and expected to use our space for free while planning a wedding. Your photographer, who at least had the business sense to buy a coffee, should have probably also had the awareness to cover for his potential client's drink--because clearly, you were too busy budgeting for wedding photographers to spare a few dollars on a cup of coffee. But here's the thing: no business, whether it's a coffee shop, a restaurant, or even a fast-food joint, exists for the sole purpose of providing free seating to people who don't contribute to its survival. That's not how this works. You don't walk into a movie theater and demand to sit there just because someone else bought a ticket, right? Same principle applies here. And let's be real--you're upset not because we were "rude," but because you got called out for squatting. That bruised ego of yours is doing a lot of the talking in this review. It's clear from your little "editing after owner reply" rant that you've got a burr in your saddle over being asked to respect a business's basic policies. And yet, somehow, we're the bad guys? Bottom line: Our restaurant is here to serve paying customers. Not freeloaders. Not self-entitled Yelp warriors. And certainly not people who expect small businesses to subsidize their wedding planning sessions. Best of luck with your big day. Hopefully, your venue doesn't expect you to pay for that space either. Cheers, Thomas

The food is good has great service a little expensive for my taste to consider that great service though and the food is good I'm giving this a five on the rating

I visited Peacock mid weekday morning for the first time last week with a friend. Located in the Richland Parkway, Peacock Coffee is a comfortable café with plenty of tables. I ordered mocha on the recommendation of the barista. I don't like a lot of chocolate or sugar in my mochas, but the barista remarked that the cocoa Peacock used was not especially sweet. This turned out to be one of the best mochas I have had in years. My friend reports that the espresso hybrid drink she ordered was very good too. Note: the online ordering menu only shows a subset of all the drinks offered at Peacock. I will definitely return, but be mindful on Parkway parking on Fridays when there is s street market in progress, which blocks off one end of the street and makes getting to Peacock a bit tricky.

I am a coffee snob. This is the best coffee shop in the tri-cities area. This will be my go-to coffee shop from now on.

I asked for medium rare and it was a perfect cook. Came with seasoned fries. My s.o. had the steak salad which was largish and very fresh mix of arugula and romaine and butter lettuce. Service was good even though the mgr/owner was training a new hire. Just an elevated cafe but miles apart from carts or fast food. This cafe could clone itself in other parts of Tri-Cities and do well.

In reality, it's a raw cabbage taco with a hint of fish essence--or perhaps a cabbage taco with a fish surprise, if you're lucky. After she gave up and ate just one, she brought the rest home. I actually measured the piece of fish inside: a staggering 1.5 inches by 1 inch. That was it. One single, tiny nugget per taco, buried at the very bottom of the shell. Because of this, you have to choke down several mouthfuls of completely raw cabbage before you finally reach your single bite of fish. To make matters worse, that one bite of fish was terrible. They apparently brine it in a way that leaves it aggressively, unpalatably salty. While the menu claims the taco comes with "slaw," it is just heaps of dry, raw cabbage. There was so much of it that you couldn't even see the three corn tortillas until you went digging through the vegetation. The sheer lack of seafood in a "signature" fish dish is appalling. Save your money--unless you really, really love overpriced plates of shredded cabbage.

The squash with it is fresh! I loved the creamy texture of the risotto. I haven't had halibut in many years! I loved the 3 dips with the house-made potato crisps. My favorite dip was the smoked steelhead. The crisps are very crunchy! Baked Feta Cheese w/ Honey Drizzle: The scone like pastries are really good! Super fluffy texture. Add the feta on top then an olive on the cheese, and take a bite! The warm pastry with the creamy sweet honey feta cheese and savory olive blends so well together. It's an amazing sharable appetizer and I highly recommend it. Apple Pie with Vanilla Ice Cream: The rich flavors of the pie are delicious! The apples are cooked perfectly and not too crunchy or mushy. The cinnamon isn't over powering the whole pie, but enough to know that it's there. My friend loves apple pie and rated it a 10 out of 10! The vanilla ice cream tasted good, but if you have ice cream outside on the patio be sure to eat it before it melts. It was 98 degrees. The hostess at the front when I walked in is so welcoming! The food was served at a good pace. Definitely a place worth visiting.
