Service from Tashawn and Adam was 10/10, they provided lighting from their phones' flashlights unprompted when they saw us taking photos of the food and drinks. The truffle fries were amazing and perfectly crispy. The caesar kale salad seemed like it was mostly spinach, and I was expecting crunchy kale. Tashawn kindly offered us free desserts at the end, but the fried dough balls weren't fully cooked all the way and we ended up consuming some raw dough, which we mistook for custard at first. He then offered us a chocolate torta to make up for it, and the sheep's yogurt ice cream on top of it was quite interesting. My friends and I were working night shift, so we didn't get to probably celebrate New Year's, but we came here following our shift to ring in 2025 with brunch. The restaurant is located inside of one of the hotels, and the decor is absolutely stunning. We were seated by the windows, and the natural lighting and decor are so bright and beautiful. We decided to share the French toast, breakfast omelette, and fries family style among three of us, and this was a good amount of food without being stuffed. The omelette was soft and delicious, and the salad on the side was a nice addition. The fries were perfectly crispy and well seasoned. The French toast was definitely the star of the show, with a nice combination of walnuts, candied, orange peel, and Nutella. I love the contrast of the nuts with the soft French toast, and it definitely felt like a decadent dessert. We also split a bottle of Prosecco that was about $60 to celebrate the new year. TL;DR I genuinely feel that it's overpriced for the experience and can't recommend a visit in good faith Dropped by with a group of four on Sunday for brunch. Called in advance to see if we needed a reservation and they said no we could drop in, although, upon arrival they only offered us bar seating... We ordered a mix of things from the chicken and waffles to the acai bowl to the avocado toast to the Benedict. The food was all fresh and the portions were large. It was good but it wasn't great for the price. And unfortunately, in the berry compote that came with the chicken and waffles there was a bit of steel, similar to that which you'd find in a steel wool sponge (they comped this dish). For sitting at the bar, there wasn't any special dedicated attention (ex drink refills) even though there were two folks behind the bar. It took a long time to get the checks as they assumed all four of us were paying together, which is odd when, ya know, we're at the bar. To give some grace, they were quite busy. However, meaning to ask for a refill on a $5 glass of iced tea that's half ice is not my favorite. Good, not great. We came in for brunch on a Sunday afternoon. Let me start by saying that the drinks were phenomenal. These were great bloody Mary's and in that regard, we had absolutely zero complaints. Now onto the food, it wasn't necessarily bad, but it wasn't necessarily great either. It was decent. Each person in our party got a different main and no one was overly impressed. The crab benefict that I had was lukewarm and just not great overall. I have to give it to them though because service was fantastic a bit slow but extremely friendly and accommodating staff. I think the best attribute of this restaurant is the ambience though - it is beyond stunning. It's truly a beautiful establishment and we loved being in the restaurant. Brunch for three, with one alcoholic drink and a round of lattes, was $159 without tip. They serve large portions. The food was good, but not great. As an example, the waffles, from the chicken and waffles, were made with cornflour, which gave it a not so appealing taste and texture. Also the chicken was all dark meat. The space is elegant but relaxed ,perfect for a morning catch-up or a quiet start to the day. We ordered the croissants and French toast, and both were delicious. The croissants were buttery and fresh, and the French toast had just the right amount of sweetness without being too heavy. Coffee was solid too, and service was attentive without being overbearing. Pembroke Bruch is a wonderful and elevated breakfast experience. The cheesy egg dish is wonderful and filling and on the best bread. The coffee was incredible and love that they have a cafe to stop in the morning for croissant, macaroon and this fantastic coffee. The omelette at Pembroke is 100% French in it construction and serves with the best salad. The servers are so happy and fun and we loved the energy they provided. First, my cousin and I met here for dinner tonight and the ambience and views are very nice. Our server was great and attentive and very conscious of some allergies that my cousin had expressed when we first sat down. However, our food was absolutely AWFUL! What I got was completely uncooked pasta in a very lack luster green sauce that tasted like a child made it. The pasta was not al dente but stuck to your teeth chewy. The chicken, which was just served on a side plate , had ZERO seasoning or salt and was so charred and dry I couldn't even swallow it. This place is not cheap by any means, and the food quality was just abysmal. For the price for what I ordered, it should've knocked my socks off. Quite the opposite! I'm a Chef on myself and you should all be absolutely embarrassed by what was presented. I was out for dinner with my cousin who I hadn't seen in years too and I really wanted to take her to a nice dinner. She ordered the Bronzino, and a side of asparagus. Her fish came out with no seasonings whatsoever, not even salt...which she had to ask for olive oil and lemon just to eat it. At $47 for a small Piece of fish, this crap didn't even come with a side. Her $14 side of 6 pieces of asparagus, didn't even have salt or any kind of seasoning on it either. This was supposed to be a nice evening but the food quality absolutely ruined our experience here. What's even worse, is I still paid $142 for this experience, and the only thing I ate was a $10 piece of bread and 2 drinks. They still charged us for all the shit food my cousin mostly ate, and she was just being nice because she was starving and didn't wanna make a fuss, but she said it was awful. I cannot believe we just got bent over like that. All the manager offered was 10% off and gave me his card to give him a heads up next time we are back ‍ Not, but thanks Tom! Have not been to The Pembroke for years and it is such a vibe. You really feel you could be transported to somewhere beyond Dupont and at a hotel. It is a nice mix of local and people visiting without feeling overwhelmed by one or the other. Came here towards the end of their brunch service and the line was still nearly to the coffee bar so you know that it is a good spot. The staff is so friendly and really makes you feel welcome from when you step in. They were so kind to make me a custom mocktail based on what I normally drink. I got the fries and they are perfectly crisp and crunchy. I liked the option to add additional toppings if you wanted, sometimes truffle can be a little much for me. They were perfectly salted and a decent sized portion. Super kind staff who checked in on us and made sure that we had what we needed before we even could ask. Absolutely five stars! read more

Came here for a Saturday brunch with some friends. The place is great and part of the Dupont Hotel. The place is well decorated and has a fantastic feel. They also have a great outdoor patio where we sat. The waiter was excellent, providing great suggestions. He understood my gluten-free needs and was able to get me a eggs benedict on guten free toasts that was very good. My wife had a bagle and salmon dish that she raved about and our friends had the american breakfast. We had a great conversation in a very relaxed atmosphere on a beautiful Saturday. If you're looking for an intimate dining experience with a gorgeous, plant-friendly ambiance, The Pembroke is the place for you! I visited yesterday for a friend's birthday, and overall, it was a great experience. I was the first to arrive from my party, and our server, Victoria, made me feel right at home. She was extremely personable and engaged me in some delightful conversation while I waited. Her recommendation of the Siesta da Passion--a refreshing, grapefruit-forward drink--was spot on. The drink had the perfect balance of sweetness and fruitiness and was surprisingly potent! For my main course, I ordered the Bucatini, which was simply wonderful. It had just the right amount of spice, a generous portion of lobster, and a very satisfying portion size. Others at my table ordered the Amish Half Chicken and Sea Bass, and they couldn't stop raving about their dishes--our table had no complaints when it came to the food! An even more popular contender was the bread, warm and fresh and paired well with our meals. The only downside was the ambiance--while the intimate setting was lovely, the dim lighting made it a bit hard to see. Additionally, as the evening went on (we didn't leave until after 11 pm), we started to feel a bit rushed. I understand that we were there late, but it was disappointing to have other servers come to our table, reaching across my drink to remove items while I was still engaged in conversation. It made us feel pressured to leave, which was not ideal when celebrating a friend's birthday. Having lived in Italy in the past, I recommend enjoying the Fusili Calabresi, a large-portioned, boldly flavored pesto-based dish. I had it with a side of salmon (an extra charge, which I wish was made clear). Two others at the table had the same dish with different proteins (i.e. shrimp) and enjoyed it, too. Other dishes loved by the table include the Cavatelli (a Lamb Bolognese). At most establishments, I order similar mocktails, however, The Spiced EspressNO-Tini (a richly flavored espresso martini mocktail), was a nice change of pace. The Hibiscus Mule was refreshing and a good "ole' reliable". This is a beautiful restaurant inside The Dupont Circle hotel, easily accessible through their main lobby or directly through the back main entrance of The Pembroke on19th St NW. The bartenders are friendly and helpful, and it's really nice to know they curate the specialty drinks entirely on their own for seasonal libations. If you're not a drinker, they also provide a solid amount of mocktails to choose from. The entire staff is extremely attentive and accommodating to anything needed during your meal, and knowledgable of the menu to provide recommendations. I've dined each service here - breakfast is truly amazing (try the crabcake eggs benedict and/or french toast with freshly squeezed orange juice), lunch is equally delicious (try the pumpkin soup and salmon on super salad with mocktail hibiscus fizz), and dinner is just *chef's kiss* (try the branzino and crispy potatoes). When we arrived, we were seated right away (we did make a reservation) and our server came to introduce themselves and get us acquainted with the menu. Being brutally honest I was not impressed. While I loved the atmosphere the service was very slow even though the restaurant wasn't crowded. The beef tartare was good but felt like it was missing something. The pasta portion was just enough. I was upset that I couldn't try one of the salads. The savory sauce and sage paired and balanced the subtle sweetness of the squash. For entrees we went with the salmon with bamboo rice and a beurre blanc and the miso glazed sea bass with black rice, baby bok choy and crispy leeks. Great Customer Service! My siblings and I had brunch here this past Sunday and to be honest our experience did not start off great. Our waiter seemed distracted and was not very accommodating. However, the food was definitely 10/10 . We had the delicious French Toast, an order of Chicken & waffles along with the Smash burger which was cooked to perfection. We had to flag someone down to get our water glasses filled and while we were still eating another server asked if we were ready for the check.
