Jennifer is a wonderful host and is so helpful on the property and what's going on around town. The area is quiet, clean, peaceful. The cottages are fully furnished with all you need in the kitchen. Each cottage is appointed with everything, outdoor showers, bbq grill even charcoal to get you started. And they are Clean. This matters. Some cape cabins or rooms tend to be musty or messy. Sorry, but I've been coming here for 45 years and nothing's changed. Cottage grove cottages are impeccable. This is a quiet refuge from kiddos. Sorry, but that's my take on it. There is no pool, no playground, none of that. Plenty of those elsewhere and that's where the kids are. Go enjoy that if that is what you need. This is quiet and wonderful for adults, couples, singles, artists, empty nesters or anyone wanting to get away from screaming, kids crying and yelling, parents, cursing, car horns.... Ah. Back to serenity. Isn't that better? This is the best there is. Close enough to PTown, Wellfleet and Truro. Go to Nauset lobster pool, get a few and bring it back for a nice dinner on your picnic table. Stars are out. You got back from free music on the beach. Go to your cottage in a peaceful grove Set back from route Six. Get ready for a quiet night on the Cape like it used to be.

Originally built in 1820 as a sea captain's estate, this 16-room bed and breakfast beautifully pairs modern comforts with authentic maritime history, even displaying original wooden "ship's knees" supports in several of its rooms. Innkeepers Denise and Pete Butcher cultivate a warm, family-like atmosphere that keeps a loyal community of repeat guests coming back year after year to relax, reset, and breathe in the fresh Cape Cod sea air. Our days are filled with wonderful memories, from enjoying Denise's exquisite buffet breakfast featuring homemade Swedish coffee cakes and quiches, to relaxing by the courtyard's cozy gas fire pit. The inn's location is unbeatable--just a 5-minute walk to Nauset Beach, which saves us a $35 daily parking fee. Whether we are catching a historic Orleans Firebirds baseball game, riding bikes on the Cape Cod Rail Trail, or enjoying fresh lobster rolls at Cap't Cass Rock Harbor Seafood shack while watching the sunset, this inn truly feels like our second home.

We've found the rooms to be clean, comfortable and well appointed. The grounds are beautiful and well cared for, and there is a nice pool area as well. The Inn itself is located just a short walk from Nauset Beach, which is super convenient. The town of Orleans has nice shopping and plenty of dining options as well. Denise puts together a wonderful breakfast each morning with a rotation of delicious baked goods and other treats. On this last visit I happened to mention that I love pancakes, and there they were the next morning! Again, if we ever have a special request, Denise & Peter will do everything to make it happen. We are so happy that our friends found this Inn years ago, and invited us to join them, and we've been returning ever since. If you are looking for a nice place for your Cape vacation, look no further.
