I ordered some cupcakes for a friend and her husband. But mostly for my friend. I don't live in the area, and so I ordered them online/over the phone. While I did not taste the cupcakes myself, I thought I would review the whole ordering experience, with supplemental information from the recipients. The experience was super easy! The online ordering menu was pretty easy, though finding the right page to order from was a bit confusing. Since my friend's husband was picking it up, I called them to be sure that it was ok, as the name on the credit card was different than the name of the person picking it up. Once on the phone, I realized that they have some additional flavors available that were not listed online and added a few more cupcakes to the order. Note: if you are curious about any additional flavors that may change daily, definitely give them a call. The person on the phone was super friendly and helpful. They absolutely get a 5 star review. Once ordered, my friend's husband went to pick it up. He rated the pick-up process as "easy as Sunday morning." While I don't think Sunday mornings are easy, I believe he is saying that he would give the pick-up process a 5 star review as well. My friend (and her husband) loved the cupcakes! Her favorites were the pumpkin delight and the berry cobbler. She also liked the banana foster. Her husband liked the coffee cream. Given their responses, I feel like they would give the cupcakes themselves a 5 star as well...especially since they are now all gone. All in all, a really good experience from start to finish! While Kathy and I were new to the area and renting on Front Street, we discovered the downtown store and were frequent shoppers there. The owner (and her daughter who spent time creating artwork on the sidewalk outside) provided a welcoming smile and the creations were fantastic! Dani, the Yelp Community Ambassador, hosted a Elite Event at the new location on Racine, so I've been here before, but as it has been too long I dropped in while visiting another store in the strip mall. The Peppered Cupcake's downtown location was already my favorite cupcake shop in town, so I'm always going to be excited about them expanding! The location here is nice--not as adorably charming as downtown, but much more spacious; there's plenty of room to sit and enjoy your cupcake, which is especially handy for the ones with warm toppings. I had all new flavors (to me) on this visit: creme brûlée and caramel macchiato mini cupcakes first, then an apple and gorgonzola cupcake with warm apple topping, and then tastes of the rose water, peppered mango, and jasmine. The apple and gorgonzola surprised me pleasantly; the gorgonzola was a nice salty kick without being overwhelming. The creme brûlée was very nice and smooth, and I enjoyed the floral flavors of the rose and jasmine cupcakes. read more

This is my "go to" when I need dessert and don't want to make it. All of the cupcakes are delicious. There are so many different options, it's hard to decide what to choose. They also offer Gluten free and vegan options which is much appreciated! It's hard to find that at many places. read more

We ordered from here for my daughter's birthday and found the cupcakes to be overpriced (over $50 for a dozen) and they just weren't worth it for us. They were too sweet, loaded with frosting, and the flavors were underwhelming. We ended up tossing most of them. read more

First time at this cupcake shop and definitely have to go back. I shared the bourbon black cherry cobbler and the mango habanero lavender cupcake. If you like unique gourmet cupcake then check this place out. The bourbon black cherry cobbler was warm which I love in a cupcake but slightly too sweet. The mango habanero sauce on the lavender cupcake was not too sweet and had a nice kick from the habanero spice. Can't say which one I liked better but glad I had both. I would give it a 5 star if you are going to downtown Wilmington store, Cupcakes turn fast in that store. Racine, however may be a different store. I picked up 6 to take home and eat the following day. I purchased late in the afternoon. The following day they were bordering on stale, definitely dry.
