Been seeing fufu all over my social media, so I was dying to finally give it a try. Ordered delivery from The Peppered Goat and got the fufu with goat egusi, along with their chicken and rice. The chicken and rice were fine, nothing super special, pretty basic seasoning-wise. But I was so excited for the fufu and egusi. The fufu had such a good soft texture, almost like mashed potatoes but firmer and able to hold its shape when you picked it up. The goat egusi was super flavorful too, and the goat pieces were really tender. The fufu was honestly the perfect base for all of it. So glad I finally got to try it.

Ofc. I come to this place from seeing the fufu and Egusi trend on TikTok. Found this place. Not many near the area. Specially with high rating. I was skeptical but I been wanting to try. Let's just say I was not disappointed. This was actually very good. I got the Egusi with beef. I'm one who doesn't like certain textures but surprisingly textured was good and perfect. My spouse and my 4yr old picky eater son loved it too! As a Mexican, I'm not use to certain flavors outside of what I grew up with. The taste definitely lets me know I'm not in Kansas anymore (Kansas aka Mexico). I love my Mexican food but I also love the taste of Nigerian food! Loved it!!!! Definitely recommended!

Absolutely incredible. Flavors amazing, dishes are interesting and delicious, and service was great. First time trying Nigerian food (in recent memory) and absolutely had a great experience. We ordered the following: stewed goat--incredible flavor. Definitely recommend SPG on Rice--the clear winner overall Chicken meat pie--runner up and could have easily put down a few of these Fufu--gorgeous and cute, I've never eaten like this before (look up on tiktok or google for a tutorial, very fun and fascinating) Egusi soup with chicken--interesting flavor, I enjoyed but my wife did not, I think completely for taste reasons not bc it was not done well. I found the flavors fascinating and the chicken was tender and delicious. Just not my wife's cup of tea and I could see the flavor being slightly controversial when compared to the crowd pleasing other dishes. This is a ghost kitchen so find a spot out front on the street (with a great auto shop, shoutout to Joseph at precision auto clinic). But you simply order and the woman who helped us today was so sweet and worked so hard! A true one woman show and everything came out just perfectly, I was so impressed! When paying I caught a glimpse of the inside and snapped a few shots--amazing what can be done in such a modest space. I think we were the first to arrive and our food took ~20 minutes, a great turnaround for the effort. Highly highly recommend and will probably try to get a catering order for my work some time as it is just wonderful. Thank you so much and we will be back!

Very happy with this find! Nigerian food is one of my favorites and it's hard to come by in the SFV. Everything was delicious and flavorful. I will be back to try other dishes!

Like in the Wizard of Oz when they pulled the curtian to find out the Wizard wasn't a Wizard, thats how I felt today when i went to pick up my Peppered Goat Soup :( First I grabbed my daughter and wife and headed to "The Peppered Goat" having had Nigerian Food before I was excited to try out a new place with rave reviews!!!! All the videos on Social Media showed people picking up there food not thinking they were a Ghost Resturant... ...Not knowing that I drove an hour hoping to sit down and order so on that note so it wouldn't be a total loss I ordered the Peppered Goat Soup. 35 Minutes after I ordered from the Yelp app my order was ready for pick up. Eagerly I walk into the building tonget me soup as i head down the hall I come to door 11. I would like to say foe the record that it would have been a better business model to not to let the customer see behind the curtian!!! Know I am at foor 11 on the right side of the hall and the little room is in shambles pots and oand everywhere, i knock 3 times then yell out hello... At that moment I felt like Dorthy when the curtian was pulled back... it's a Latina Mom cooking and not Nigerian Damn!!! At first I thought maybe I was at the wrong door but when I asked if the was the Peppered Goat? She said "yes" and could she help me... I said I am here to to pick up my Peppered Goat Soup and she asked my name and opened a brown storage container and pulled out my order handed it to me and went back to the stove!! And like that this brings me to the end of my adventure :/ As I walked to my truck and opened the door while my wife and daughter waiting they laughed at the container size and when my wife asked for me to open it can you belive it was luke warm!!! For $20.00 and a 35 minute wait you would think the soup would be piping hot!! The soup probably would have tasted better hot but unfortunately I didn't recieve it that way!!

I decided to order some African food because I was craving Egusi. I found this place and got excited since I've never ordered her before. 1. The presentation was fine, they packed it well enough for the food to stay in the container. 2. The actual food lacked seasoning and was very bland. Nothing to write home about, I've had better. 3. The thing that stood out to me is they charged extra for the lamb but gave me 3 bones with very little meat on them. The lamb tasted gamy needless to say the little meat that was present did not get eaten. 4. Overall I may give this place another shot and try their pepper soup but I'm not rushing to order from them again.

I really enjoyed the food that I ordered here. I got the goat meat plate with plantains and jollof rice. Everything tasted exactly how it should! I was born in Nigeria and raised in Houston, so my expectations for Nigerian food are high. IYKYK. The food here lived up to those expectations. The goat meat was flavorful and well-cooked. The jollof was plentiful and perfectly seasoned with the right slightly smoky flavor. I also ordered a pan of jollof rice for a get-together with friends, and they loved it! I will definitely order from here again. FYI this is a ghost kitchen, not a brick and mortar restaurant. So no seating available. Take your food to go or you can eat in the seating area outside the building.

Peppered Beef Pie, extremely tender and delicious.

I like a lot of the food from Africa, and have been to Ghana and Morocco. I was excited to try out The Peppered Goat, and as you can tell by the five stars, they did not disappoint. I've got a few suggestions as well. I ordered a Peppered Goat Pie and a Peppered Beef Pie. Both were delicious. The crust was a perfectly flakey crust, and the meat in both were cooked to perfection, flavorful and tender. It's pretty rare that you can have meat this tender. 1.) I showed up there instead of ordering ahead. I think it's probably easier to order in advance or order via delivery rather than hang out in the hallway for 30 minutes. In other words, it's not a restaurant. It's one of numerous kitchens in a hallway, nothing more, although there are a couple of metal benches with seats in the parking lot outside. 2.) If you are curious about trying goat and have never tried it before, this would be an outstanding first place to do it. I don't know what people think goat might taste like, but here, it's very tender, spicy, and flavorful. It's not "weird" tasting at all, but I do notice that a lot of my friends have never tried goat, so I figured I would mention this. 3.) If the pies are this good, I can just about guarantee that the egusi soup, eba or fufu, and other dishes are really great. Also, I noticed that other people seem to love their jollof rice, so there's that. 4.) What's also cool is that they have vegan dishes. For instance, one of the choices is Peppered Vegan Pie, which are mushrooms smothered in their signature pepper sauce recipe. There is also a vegan swallow combo (a swallow dish is dough-like food that is typically eaten with soups or stews, and can include cassava or yam that has been pounded....so it has nothing to do with birds). Definitely recommended. I'll be ordering again!

My first time having Ethiopian food, and it was fantastic!…read more We ordered the vegan combo, doro wat, and beef awaze tibs. The vegan combo came with a bunch of flavorful things like stewed red lentils, stewed yellow split peas, Ethiopian salad, et cetera. I'm not vegan, but I would have been more than satisfied with just the vegan combo as it was delicious and filling. The doro wat - spicy braised chicken with a hard-boiled egg - was tender and tasty. I thought the beef dish was even better. The beef pieces practically melted in my mouth. And everything went great with the injera, which had a spongy texture that I found absolutely pleasing. The service was also wonderful. Before our meal, our server performed a hand-washing ceremony with rose water. And after we finished eating, we were presented with wet towels to clean our hands. Throughout lunch, our server kept our glasses of water filled. This place is a small intimate spot with very few tables, so reservations are strongly recommended.

Very very refreshing. We opted for the Vegan Sampler and the off menu, ribeye tibs. It was honestly perfect! The only thing we noticed was the portions on the sample platter were a bit small. Delicious with a wide verity, but we had to order two à la cart lentil dishes to balance it all out. Not a deal breaker by any means. We were glad to bring leftovers home. The prices were comprable to other Ethiopian restaurants we've been to, so no concerns there. Only thing I won't be ordering is the 12 dollar Pellegrino. That seemed excessively marked up considering the same bottle is $2.69 at Target or $3.50 at 7/11. We will definitely be back because the food and service were THAT good.
