I love love love this place! The building was originally housing for island staff, and this bar is the origin of Fishers Island Lemonade! We walked over from the yacht club where we docked our dinghy. They opened at 4pm (no lunch service). Staff was amazing, we enjoyed chatting with the bartender who was from New Haven. Food was delicious! Homemade salsa verde and chips, I had the cold shrimp roll. All food was super fresh and hit the spot. Tons of seating outside with lawn games galore, inside a lighted dance floor. Great place, was the highlight of the island. Reminded me of Club Soda on Block Island. Will definitely go back! Patio was pet friendly and staff loved on our pup. read more

Surprisingly good food for an Island....it's the only place on this one! Best bone in Chicken dinner I think I've ever had at a restaurant.

As the only bar/restaurant on Fishers Island, does the Pequot even deserve to be judged and held to normal restaurant standards? It's a Fisher's Island institution, with an almost complete monopoly on the bar/pub scene, and it is highly unlikely that someone would ever just stumble upon this establishment without already knowing what to expect. However, on the off chance that someone thinks it's worth it to pay 55 bucks to bring themselves and a bicycle over on the ferry without knowing about the Island's limited culinary options, I think a short review is merited. Our party of three ordered a cheese burger with french fries, the fish taco, seared tuna, mozzarella sticks, and the shrimp cocktail. THE BURGER: A well-proportioned toasted roll with mayo/lettuce/tomato/onion was able to partly redeem a dry and overdone $11 burger. The small order of fries that accompanied the burger (and cost $3.50 extra) were limp and oozing grease. The MOZZARELLA STICKS were hot and crispy, by far the best part of the meal. SHRIMP COCKTAIL: arrived with 4 cold shrimp and was consumed with little fanfare or enjoyment. FISH TACO: A "tasty" sauce was drizzled over "decent" fish, then wrapped in a cold taco containing shredded/wilted/white iceberg lettuce At the time of this review, i had not solicited opinions on the TUNA. The eastern European summer staff was incredibly friendly, but unclear on the concepts of wasabi and Sriracha sauce. We were originally charged $10 for a virgin Bloody Mary, but upon protest, a friendly bartender brought it down to a reasonable price. Although the meal only merited a single star, I'll add another 2.5 for the college common room ambiance, and tack on a final 1.5 stars for the pickled string bean that accompanied the bloody marry and was described as delicious. You know you have been off the mainland for too long when you feel comfortable doling out 5 stars for a semi-edible $27 meal consisting of a burger with fries, mozz sticks, and a coke. read more

As the only real bar & grill on Fishers Island, NY that is open to everyone and out side of the various clubs, The Pequot seems to have endured and evolved with seasonal changes and population. I grew up visiting this place for its burgers and fries and later, made a point of going there with friends/family for a few beers. The place is split into 2 rooms: one with a dance floor and regular bar, the other is for dining and pool games. There is an external patio with benches and chairs too. I have not stayed in the hotel portion of the place, so I cannot comment on that. For a seasonal place from May to October (?), it has a good beer selection (including craft/micro brews!) and better than average pub food. Fishers Island is kind of surreal in it own escapist way and The Pequot is cool place to compliment that experience. read more

Full disclosure: I have not yet stayed at the Pequot Inn, but made a reservation a few weeks ago. There was a mix-up with the reservation and cancellation policy, and after one phone call and another email the manager resolved my complaint satisfactorily. Well, what can I say? This is pretty much your only choice for dinner out on Fishers. Quicker and cheaper than going to the mainland. I fell really bad/guilty for giving them a less than stellar review, because I'm really glad the island has this place, but... The best part was that it wasn't busy, and it was a nice day, so we ate outside. Drinks at the bar were fine, but I find the inside kinda dark and depressing. The menu is very limited and the prices outrageously expensive, but I can't really blame them for that because, you know...island. But...I can't get past the fact that we spent $150 for a family of five to have chicken nuggets, burgers, sandwiches, fries and onion rings, sodas, and one cocktail. Yeah, island, but...ouch. The food was decent but nothing special, and the portions were not generous. My burger came with exactly three onion rings. Usually when we are on the island we stick to eating at the house, or occasionally boating over to Abbot or Costello's for burgers and lobster, and I think we'll stick to that I the future. (By the way, despite the name, this place does not currently offer lodging, just the bar and grill. I understand they were once an actual inn, and may be again, but as of 2017, they are not.) read more

Came to Fisher's Island for a weekend get away.. decided to go out for some dinner and drinks. We sat at the bar and ordered a pizza with the Fisher's Island lemonade. The pizza was delicious and coming from New Haven that is saying a lot! The bartender was great and even let me have the Fisher's Island glass my hard lemonade was served in. We decided to play some pool and had an issue getting our change out of the quarter machine..one of the wait staff came over and gave us her own quarters so we could keep playing while the owner was fixing the machine. All in all ..great food and great experience. Everyone was very nice and we will be back! read more

Spent 4th of July weekend on Fishers and LOVED The Pequot. I've actually never seen a bar this packed and energetic. Everybody was dancing on the amazing retro light up dance floor and the small but very curated cocktail list was enough to get me amped for some dancing. read more

Sorry but the Pequot Inn does not even deserve one star. This Inn is a cross between the Bates Motel, that Hotel in the Shining and Nightmare on Elm Street. This hotel has not been renovated since the great Depression and that how I felt walking into our room with two very small twin beds. Both were located on different walls of the small room with a very strange foul odor in it. No TV, no coffee pot, no drinking glasses, no shampoo, not even a small bar of soap in the bathroom, and no Bible, witch is a shame because I probably would have used it to pray on that my wife wont kill me for booking a room in the nastiest hotel room between here and Honduras. I did appreciate the toilet paper and towels they included, not bad for a $200 a night. There was charming huge hole in the wall next to the shower that was spirting out water all over the bathroom floor. I did enjoy the view from our room, two dirty dumpsters. The carpet in the hallways, dingy lighting and doors to the guest rooms looked like something you would expect to see in a run down tenant house on the bad side of Atlantic City. There was a mix up with our room we had reserved a room six weeks before with two double beds next to each other. Unfortunately the staff made us wait five extra hours to check in, when we did it was still the wrong room. I spoke to the owner and he yelled at my wife and made her cry (good times)! We didn't dare eat at the restaurant based on all the above factors and opted to eat and drink some great wine and cheese we thankfully brought along on the porch on the third floor. It's too bad they had not swept the dust and cobwebs off the porch since the Korean War, but at least it was better than trying the only restaurant on the island downstairs. Karaoke started around 11pm and the local hyenas started howling to tunes the 70's & 80's. We figured if you cant beat them join them. We went to the bar had a few drinks, games of pool and sung a few songs. The bartender had seen us earlier getting chewed out by the owner and was very kind to us. Tried to go to sleep around 12:30 AM. but... the Karaoke blasted through our walls and closed windows until 4:00 AM. My wife now unwillingly knows the words to every Barry Manilow song ever written. We almost decided to sleep in the car around 3:00 AM, but we stuck it out. I guess I should remember not to stay in hotels that don't have websites (it must be for a reason). Fishers Island is an absolutely beautiful place to visit, great beaches, kind residents, but I would never go back to the Pequot Inn. read more

The Peqout is great again! A complete renaissance thanks to the new owner and manager. Great selection of beers, excellent cocktails for those so inclined, an expanding array of good food, and an overall good vibe. I spent more time in the Peqout this July than I have in the past five years. Family-friendly for dinner until 7 or so, a great, diverse crowd until around midnight, then mostly 20-somethings dancing well into the small hours. A Fishers Island institution back to its old, rightful glory. read more

This place was a complete disappointment. Now I have Never written a bad review in my life and while I told myself I never would I need to make an exception so others don't make the same mistake too!! The service was so horrible that it was non-existent! When first we walked in we we told to seat ourselves bc they were so busy. So we sat outside then after not being acknowledged for 10 minutes a member of our party went to the bar and ordered drinks. Another 10 minutes went by without one staff member coming over to us. We took matters into our own hands, went inside, and asked for menus. Another 10 minutes went by and I went back inside and had to ask a waiter if he could come take our order. The food was overpriced and had no taste! Finally at the end of the meal we had to once again get up and ask for the check. Insanely enough the service wasn't even the worst part of the experience!! It was the obnoxious manger or owner (some older guy with white hair) that pushed us over the edge. He was so rude, cold and a total jerk! We will never darken the doors of this establishment again and I strongly recommend that if you go to fishers island just bring your food to cook. It is the only option but so not worth it! Maybe it's a good place to grab a drink but avoid eating here at all costs! read more

Please note, this review is for the Pequot on FISHER'S ISLAND. Went there last evening with some friends who live on the island in summer. It was the WORST dinner I think I have ever had in a restaurant that charges high prices. We were early and ordered when virtually no one was in the restaurant and still waited over 45 minutes for our entrees. I had the fresh striped bass; while it was hot, it was very overcooked and looked like a brick swimming in a tomatoe sauce with two large stalks of dill thrown on the side for decoration! The fingerling potatoes had obviously been cooked in the afternoon, reheated and thrown on the plate. My husband and son ordered the fresh scallops. They arrived stone cold. We sent them back and after 15 minutes the same scallops appeared with blackened skins!! Yes, they were hot, but could easily have been used as hockey pucks!! Our friend ordered the prime rib, which is a special on Fridays. A slab of meat appeared which had clearly been sitting for some time under lamps as the meat was a disgusting brown; though it was rare when he cut into it, it was also stone cold.The poor waitress was clearly distressed, but it is the owner who is to blame not the wait staff. Incompetent, overpriced and taking advantage of the limited options on the island. AVOID AT ALL COSTS. read more
