I've heard great reviews about this place and it didn't disappoint. My husband and I were lucky to snag patio seats on a 70+ day in Chicago. The vibe is super cool outside and even better inside. Drinks: they made my husband a mock tail mojito, which he enjoyed. I had a Bloody Mary that had a beer chaser. It was thick and spicy. I liked the beer back. Starters: we had 4 lobster deviled eggs. I love that our waiter asked if we wanted to add a 4th egg since it only came with 3. They were messy, but very tasty. I love the sweetness of the lobster paired with the sharp taste of mustard. The cheese curds were huge! I love that they fried the giardiniera. You needed something pickled to cut the fat of the fried curds. Main: we split the tuna salad. The ahi was perfectly cooked. I loved the ginger dressing with hints of mango and avocado in the salad. The pickled ginger was great too. Overall, this place is awesome and we would definitely be back! read more

We made last minute reservations on a Saturday night, so it was nice that they were able to accommodate a group of 7 on such late notice. Service was good too and they have a good selection of beers, including flights! We ordered the cheese curds and croquettes to start. Both were decent. The cheese curds come with some fried vegetables as well, so it was kind of a gamble which piece you got was cheese and which was vegetable. For my entree, I got a hamburger and my husband got a turkey burger. Both came with a side which we got fries. My burger was outright bad. The outside of the patty was burnt and the fries has no flavor. My husband also had the same issue with his turkey patty. To make things worse, although the outside was burnt, the inside didn't seem fully cooked. TLDR: come for the ambiance and beer, do not come for the food. read more

I'm loving this place. The grilled mahi mahi sandwich and chicken dip were awesome. The rotisserie cauli is a MUST HAVE. Then they started brunch today and the prime rib hash and hashbrowns are out of this world. Also... Lobster deviled eggs - totally worth the $$$. Only complaint...toast wasn't buttered and I got none till I asked. But, that's nothing. I miss The Boundary but The Perch is definitely doing an awesome job at filling their space's shoes. The vibe of this place is actually so nice! We ordered takeout but when I went to pick it up, I got to see the outdoor dining area and the indoor seating within the restaurant! The half rotisserie chicken was super juicy! The mashed potatoes were good too but my boyfriend didn't love the jus it came with. We wish it came with gravy instead. The spinach and artichoke dip came in a great portion size, but the dip definitely could have used more salt or more Parmesan to make it more salty in my opinion. Wrightwood Salad: I would have hoped that the salad would be fresh and well-dressed. Alas, it was neither. The lettuce was soggy and the dressing was excessive. The croutons were very soggy, likely due to the excessive dressing. The chicken was okay. Overall not a great salad. 2/5. Hygiene: There was lipstick on our glasses. Dishes were dirty. The Perch was the perfect welcome to my visit to my hometown of Chicago. Every time I come back I appreciate the friendliness of all the staff in the Midwest and the perch did not disappoint with its service. The ambiance was great with all the Oktoberfest swag but nothing tops the incredible cheese curds, the buttery delicious cornbread, the yummy Brussels sprout salad to balance it out and most importantly the beer flights. Wow. First of all...vibes! This place gives you all the good feels, the music, furniture, plants etc. i just loved the energy and aesthetic. Second of all the food & drinks did not disappoint. Everything was simply delicious & came out pretty quickly. My daughter and I had brunch here a few Sundays ago. The restaurant is beautiful, with lots of exposed brick and murals. The food was also delicious! We started with the cheese curds, and they were very good. I had the filet sliders, and they were absolutely delicious. I'd definitely order these again! My daughter had a cinnamon roll, and it looked decadent. We managed to get in here without a reservation, but it was pretty crowded within about half an hour of our arrival. I visited the Perch last night with a friend for the first time. It was a beautiful space inside. It was restaurant week, and I tried that menu. The salmon was delicious. The staff were so friendly and fun, we sincerely wish we could have hung out here all night. We really liked the seasonal options of the food and drink, and everything we had was delicious. We recommend "The Ember" (a hickory smoked version of a classic Manhattan) and the Basil Blursday, which was very refreshing. While all of our food was amazing (including, surprisingly, the best sauerkraut I've ever had), what stood out most was the Char-SPOOK-erie board. The dip was great but the sliders were absolutely AMAZING. The beef was tender & juicy & the onions, blue cheese & mayo were perfect additions. This place just opened two weeks ago and my roommates and I couldn't be happier. Ora king saloon was to die for! The skin was so crispy, I've never had anything like it! I was excited to try The Perch, as I live in the neighborhood and have heard good things from friends (especially about Brunch). We decided to go for a early dinner (6pm) on a Friday night. The Good - The ambiance is really great and they have a pretty large/beautiful patio lit with twinkle lights! It is right on Division so it feels busy and like you are in the middle of the city & action, without being too much. - Cocktails -- Me and my 2 friends all got the 'Random Acts of Flyness' (a tequila based drink with aperol, ginger beer, etc.). We all agreed that it was one of the best cocktails we've had in the city this summer. We even got 3 rounds. - Service -- super quick with drinks & food even though they were very busy. The Not So Good - I ordered the 'Cauliflower Steak' as my entree because I love cauliflower dishes and how creative they can be with seasoning/flavor/etc. Unfortunately, the cauliflower was barely cooked, didn't taste like it had salt or seasoning, and very little sauce on the side. Was a big disappointment, because it sounded great on the menu. It was honestly really bad -- don't order. - My friends got the Wrightwood Salad and Sliders -- both were just okay, nothing special or particularly flavorful. While food was a bit of a bummer and overpriced, I will most likely be returning for Brunch because I've heard great things and love the ambiance. read more

This place was awesome. We sat on the outdoor patio which is very cheaply decorated with greenery. They have a wide selection of beer and you can order taster size beers so you can try a variety. We tried the sour beer and the cherry beer and they were both great. For appetizers we ordered the cornbread skillet and the croquettes both of which were a savory and delicious. For dinner we shared the baby back ribs which were fall off the bone and cooked with Smoque BBQ sauce. The ribs were fantastic. We will definitely be back again as this place was great. Excellent service, good food, dope ambiance; I really enjoyed my lunch at the Perch today. Our server was great, she was quick and friendly and everything I ever need in a server. We tried the lobster deviled eggs, croquettes, spinach dip (which was my favorite at Crosby's Kitchen so i had to get it here obv), cornbread skillet, and the prime rib hash. All the food was as good as I expected it to be. I will say that the deviled eggs were tasty, but very teeny tiny, I could've eaten 2 more orders of those lol. We also got Aperol spritzes, which were a delight. The only thing I had an issue with today was the temperature inside. We specifically chose inside over sitting outside due it being a warm day, but it was def hotter inside than it was outside today. Please turn up the ac, that is my only request! Would definitely come back again! Had a bit of trouble finding parking around here so would not recommend driving here (use public transpo, Uber, etc. instead!). But the experience my family and I had here was more than worth it! Food came out incredibly fast. Appetizers were on our table around 5 minutes after ordering them. Staff was so incredibly nice and did everything to make us comfortable. Also, have to recommend the spinach artichoke dip. Had to sit outdoors as we had our dogs, but great that they were dog friendly and even had a dog menu! The ambiance indoors is so nice and it looks beautiful so will come back to try that next time! read more
