Food was solid and came out hot and fast. The sweet potato fries and covered in sugar if that's your thing. Staff is friendly and quick to seat you and take orders. The burger and crab cake sandwich were the winners at the table. Drinks are reasonably priced and there are bands that play there often !

    Beautiful sunset on the patio.

The patio was super relaxing with a reggae band playing. Waitress was great, and very attentive. The burger was slightly above average.

I came here on Sunday around 8pm. I wanted a lobster roll and some wings and saw this place had both on their menu so it was a no brainer. It was relatively quiet and not busy but I didn't mind that after having hopped around to a couple spots the previous night. I sat at the bar and ordered a glass of wine to start. It was nice and chilled to a crisp which is how I love it. The wings were good, plenty of meat, and a good heat to the sauce. The lobster roll was delicious too; a hearty portion of lobster and I even enjoyed the fries which I don't normally eat. I had a good conversation with a couple other patrons too so that made the meal really nice too. For a nice, no frills spot, this is a solid place to visit.

Finally got to eat dinner at the washout. Male server was very efficient and polite. Food was good. Classic seafood dishes and regular dinner food like cheeseburgers. I always try fried flounder if a place has it fresh. Single version of fried flounder, perfectly coated and cooked. Loved it didn't need hot sauce or tarter sauce, just a squirt of lemon. cheesy grits as the side was a great choice. Spicy tuna wrap has a kick, and sauteed veggies were fresh and not overcooked. Fries were like McDonald's string fries but with a little seasoning. Live music this night had a Motown sound..

Mixed thoughts on the Washout. I like the vibe and live music. The food was a bit underwhelming. I ordered fried fish and it didn't taste fresh... that "fishy" taste just wasn't appealing. We ordered nachos and they were good. Beer was cold. Service was attentive. I think this place has the potential to be great, but they need to elevate the quality of the food.

Visiting Folly for our annual pilgrimage to see the Krushtones, and once again it was a grand time. (April 19 and 20th) We have ate at just about everywhere on this beach island community. It was early afternoon and needed to get some lunch and wanted to sit outside to observe the foot traffic on the main street. We were across the street and saw this place, we both said at the same time "is that new place". Not been there yet. They had outside seating as well as indoor, perfect. Took a seat at the bar, it wasn't busy at this time. It really fills up in the evening. As I sat I could see in the cooler they served Miller High Life, wow not had one of those in a while, we both had those. I checked out the menu a wanted something light, ordered the chicken czar wrap. She asked me if I wanted grilled, I said sure not knowing what they were about to do. When it arrived I could see it was put on a flat top and grill sealed, dang that is how wraps should all be done. The only ding would the fries. These were like Checkers with a coating. Be nice if would serve the regular too. My wife had the appetizer czar salad and was just as good. The rest of the time we had Miller High Life...when in Folly be sure to checkout the Washout...Peace.

The washout?! The only thing they did right was calling this establishment its true name. The worst meal I have ever had. How da hell u still in business? Only god knows. I had the burger and fries she had da flounder. The burger taste nasty. And who da hell eats breaded fries. It was disgusting. The best thing about my burger was the onion on it. The flounder was "fishy " as hell like they had it sitting out forever. You like the food? That's because u have the palate of a Klingon.I'm going to write to Lindsay and Tim to shut u guys down.

Stumbled in on a Thursday afternoon to this place while originally on our way somewhere else. Glad we did because everything was great! We ordered the shrimp plate which was large enough for us to share. It was scorching outside and they gave us refreshing ice cold drinks that cooled us down! This place is low key and relaxed just like Foley Beach and everything was delicious ! Would definitely return! The shrimp was fantastic

The margaritas were cold and tasty, the shrimp was huge and well prepared, fries were good. The Tartar sauce was exceptional and coleslaw was perfect. We arrived straight off the beach, sandy, wet, and hot. We sat on the covered outdoor porch and enjoyed a wonderful lunch with our grandson - this place ticked all the boxes for a beach day!!!

Yikes. I think we ordered the wrong thing!!…read more My husband and I came here for lunch after kayaking next door. We ordered the fish & chips plate to share. We are from the Northeast where ordering a seafood plate of any kind is plenty enough to share with one (or more) people, but NOT this one! The portion size was shockingly small in relation to the price (or it's just not what we're used to) and was not fit for sharing. The fish was flounder, which we've never had before and wanted to try it as we are used to having cod as the fish in "fish & chips." It looked flat and dry, and tasted as such even though it seemed to be fried nicely. After several bites, we decided we didn't like it but I cant figure out if that's because we actually don't like flounder or if maybe we got a bad piece of fish since it was really sad looking?? Anyways, I'm giving two stars as I liked the fries and hushpuppies. Everything seemed to be fried well. The people sitting at the bar next to us got completely different meals and they looked much better than ours. I'd be willing to come back and give this place another try as it was very crowded when we came so I understand any place can be busy and have an off-day!

A true pioneer in moving the fish market in a sustainable direction to make sure we have ample fish populations for years to come. Now the food? Delicious. Fresh. Flavorful. The ceviche with the sticky rice add on is my favorite here, but everything is absolutely yummy! Poboy and crab cakes round out my top 3. Inside, you'll find a small space with limited seating and a counter to order at. Lots of tables outside (both on their porch and out back in the beautiful trees), so plan your attire accordingly. Big group? Likely not sitting inside! They have a fairly large wine selection and beverage fridge, so you should be able to find something to make the whole group happy. Casual, relaxed, friendly spot. Everytime I drive by, I feel the draw to pull in!

I had the smoked fish dip, served with saltines and fresh sliced vegetables for dipping, along with the house oysters and a glass of white wine. The vegetables were sliced perfectly for scooping up the dip and made a fresh, crisp alternative to the saltines. Everything was fresh, flavorful, and delicious. The setup is casual and easy -- you walk up to the counter to order, and they give you a digital pager to let you know when your food is ready. I also appreciated details like the recycled utensils and the overall relaxed feel of the place. The service stood out before I even walked in. Someone was in the parking lot helping direct guests on where to park, which was a nice touch and made arriving easy. Great seafood, friendly service, a relaxed waterfront atmosphere, and a really enjoyable experience. Definitely worth a stop on James Island!

They have a few unique items like their sweet tea which is called swamp water and is infused with lemon, lime and orange. It didnt really seem like it was infused. More like they just poured in various concentrated fruit juices. Too bad our waitress wasn't as informative as the waiter serving the table behind us. She failed to indicate that they have off the menu items, and specials on Tuesday and Wednesday nights. It was kind of hard to choose since I had been eating seafood all week leading up to this visit and also trying to avoid fried foods this year. I ended up choosing the mussels and bowl of gumbo, along with a sweet tea. The tea tasted fairly similar to a lipton sweet tea from the soda fountain and not really something homemade and infused with fresh juices. Mussels - these were really good. Even if half of the mussels fell out into the broth during preparation. Gumbo - this was kind of questionable. My colleague also saw the redish hue of the liquid and said he was glad he didn't order it. It was filled with a lot of seafood, but the liquid was just too creamy. My colleague also commented on the etouffee that was being brought out to other nearby tables and supposedly it looked too dry. I also ordered a to go dessert. The bread pudding. It ended up being pretty decent though.
